It's been a minute since we've been to Coldstone. We were on the way back from soccer on a hot day and my youngest was due for a treat. There was one person working and even though the line grew they were patient and professional. We had a couple samples before ordering ordering a creation off their menu (forgot the name!) that includes Oreos and confetti in a waffle bowl. Not cheap, but my kiddo enjoyed it, especially the waffle bowl as it had a good crunch but was still soft on the inside, not dry.

love this location! I have ordered custom ice cream cakes with photos at least 3 times over the years and they always do a great job. it's easy to order and send the photos online and then it can be done pretty quickly. and the manager and this location is also very understanding and helpful: one of the cakes wasn't looking as expected and there were only hours left before the party so he himself fixed it up. thank you for this, and definitely will be back again. highly highly reccomend

they be blessing up my ice cream everytime z. love this cold stone . They are always busy but very helpful

i've been to coldstone over the years and unfortunately my experience is always the same--very melted and cloying/overly sweet ice cream today i ordered a like it (5.99) of the cookie dough ice cream with heath bars and caramel sauce (0.99) first, i think they used the wrong ice cream as there was not a single cookie dough piece. second, even if you eat the ice cream there it's so melted and soupy due to their mix in process third, every flavor i've tried is so overbearingly sweet i can never finish it

Fruit fruit fruit that's all I really need in my creation's . I ate two bowls to myself. The staff is great here . They're very helpful. I got some pineapple, blueberries, banana, strawberries, it was super delicious

My prior experience at Cold Stone Sunnyvale was good, so decided to order a customized ice cream cake for a birthday party. Big disappointment! I paid for 2 mix-ins in the top white ice cream layer - chocolate fudge and chocolate shavings. Neither was there. I also paid for chocolate shavings in the bottom ice cream layer - it appears some, barely noticable, was sprinkled over the pastry layer, but that was it. Very disappointing.

Cold Stone Creamery is known for their signature creations which consist of a base ice cream flavor with "stuff" mixed in. They mix everything together when you order it. It's never consistent. Sometimes you receive ice cream that is too soft/melted, so you have to eat it very quickly before it it melts & drips all over. This make it more difficult when you order take out. The kiddo usually gets Strawberry Blonde, and I usually get Coffee Lovers Only. Once in a blue moon we may be adventurous and order different flavors. But we like what we like and stick to it. They used to offer BOGO deals for National Ice Cream Day, but they seem to have stopped doing that. They didn't do it in 2022. Sign on door says "maximum capacity 6", but there is clearly a large crowd inside the store: https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ZdnwJRM3361OJ8LITaznZg&userid=isQotFiKU_S_TI4Qt4MtMQ Strawberry Blonde & Coffee Lovers Only https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=EIQi1g1Ifyg4caP3yalKXg&userid=isQotFiKU_S_TI4Qt4MtMQ Rare occasion when we order different flavors https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=KN2IMr3Sk4lnYUSzHkS64w&userid=isQotFiKU_S_TI4Qt4MtMQ Coffee Lovers Only https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cold-stone-creamery-sunnyvale?select=WD_7fqzbWhLAoFTA6bmL5Q Mud Pie Mojo https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cold-stone-creamery-sunnyvale?select=gHUUsxXZW8coalaLuFBfTg .

The space feels super cozy and service was friendly. They even mentioned their Burnt Almond Cake has always been their bestseller. First bite tasted heavenly. This had more stronger almond and Italian rum flavor and I was pleasantly surprised by the sugared almond slivers coating. The custard was absolutely generous, creamy, and divine. I'd say Peter's Bakery is more traditional, but more fluffier while Sugar Butter Flour has a more modern twist and is slightly sweeter. Their version definitely has more custard, which I personally enjoy... but this may be too sweet for the older Asian parents family. I'd love to come back to try their cookies and other pastries next time. Their Burnt Almond Cake is to die for and would love to buy another one when I'm in the area. I want this to be my upcoming birthday cake!

Look at the picture. The dome of the cake was never leveled and no attempt made to level the layers with custard so I'm paying for a cake that I could've made with premade cake mix and 5% custard? We called in and the worker confirmed there are supposed to be two layers of custard in the Burnt Almond and advised me to email the owner so they could make it right. Look at the next photo. How do you as an owner - instead of simply admitting this was a rushed, dry, and unleveled cake - tell me in one message that the recipe changed because other customers had been complaining about too much custard but that you would be returning back to the original recipe? What am I, 5 years old? Just own up and say someone messed up and you'll keep the quality of your products up - but I guess that's hard to do when you ignore your long timecustomers and already got $70 for a cake that's 95% bread. I mentioned to the owner that their worker stated there would be some closure/resolve to which the owner just stopped responding. Guess when you can't be honest with your customers you...ignore them?

I had ordered my dad's birthday cake from here back in 2024 (salted yolk/pork sung/matcha mix…read morecake), and it was absolutely delicious! This time I decided to stop by here after dinner, my first time sitting down here and ordering. The inside is very clean, modern, and Pinterest-like. They added more decorations and seating from 2 years ago, making the inside more aesthetic. whaT's More always has unique Asian flavors, like durian, earl grey, pandan, red bean, and oolong. The cakes are not too sweet, so definitely Asian parent approved haha! Unfortunately, when we came around 6:30pm, they were sold out of most flavors - so would definitely recommend coming earlier or just ordering online earlier in the morning for pickup. We got the sesame dark chocolate crepe cake. When you eat in the store, the owner provides you with free cups of tea, which are really great for washing down the cake. The chocolate was super rich, and they did not skimp out on the flavor - super chocolatey. The sesame added such a fun earthy and nutty flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cake is on the slightly denser side, so was super filling. While on the pricier side, the flavors are super unique and the craft that goes into crepe cakes is commendable. I will be ordering my next cake from here again!

The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two.

When we've brought it to social gatherings in the past, it's also always a hit. Their other desserts, like their lemon bars, french napoleon, and turtle cheesecake, are also major hits. So when it was time for my wedding, I knew I had to get my cake from them! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. They offer cake tasting boxes that include their most popular flavors. However, we had a specific taste profile in mind and asked if they could custom make the samples for us - they said yes without hesitation and didn't charge us extra! The samples were delicious and the pickup process was easy. We went with a ribbon cake (chocolate and vanilla) with fresh strawberries, whipped cream filling, and vanilla buttercream frosting. I also had a very specific vision for my wedding cake - I wanted a detailed three-tier cake with buttercream vintage flowers. We also ordered a plain sheet cake with the same flavors to ensure that we had enough slices for our guests. I worked with Fariba during the ordering process and they were great. I am truly still SHOCKED at how beautiful the cake was and how it matched the inspo photo perfectly. It was a showstopper and extremely delicious. See the photo for details! We got the cake topper from etsy :)

It was covered in chocolate and filled with custard, and it was just the right sweetness and not too sweet. The cake was not enjoyable; to be fair, this might or might not be due to personal taste. It was a 3-layer vanilla cake filled with lemon mousse, covered in buttercream and white chocolate bark pieces, and topped with 10 blueberries. This flavor can be found on their website catalog. I don't know if this is typical for this bakery, but the cake was heavy, claggy, and way too sweet. The lemon mousse tasted incredibly strange, as if it were artificial or maybe had some kind of herb or weird flavoring added. The less said about the buttercream, the better. BLEH. The white chocolate was quite good. I saw they had a wide variety of cake offerings, but I don't think I'd want cake from here again. I might get the choux pastry again.
