Italian Sandwich
Matt L.

Italian "sandwich" is complete trash.. literally threw it away after 2 bites. No hots, pickles, cherry peppers, oil or vinegar.. and the deli meats are school lunch quality. Also who puts an Italian "sub" on a tiny piece of ciabatta instead of an actual sub roll? For like $15 dollars??? Have they never seen an actual Italian sub? I can get a huge Italian sub covered in prosciutto and capocollo (neither of which were on my sandwich) for $13 max at a real deli as apposed to this overpriced bologna sandwich. Shouldn't have the audacity to even call this an Italian spot.. It's a hang out for teenagers to get overpriced pizza after school. Oh and the cashier forgot about my order so I had to sit and wait for 30 minutes for an order that should have taken all of 3-5 minutes. In summary, you couldn't pay me to come back here again and grazie dio we have actual Italian spots in Boston!

Disgusting undercooked pizza.
DJ N.

I've been here numerous tines with fairly good experiences. What I don't understand is how a cook allows a raw pizza to leave the kitchen. Raw veggies on undercooked pizza dough and cheese. If I wanted to make my own pizza at home I would have done that. I'm doing my best to support small businesses during the pandemic. How should I justify supporting businesses that don't care?? So disappointed with you, Comella's Belmont!!

Kale Caesar ($6.99)
Risa K.

I have been going to Comella's since my middle school days and every time I go, I think about all those after-school pizza I had with my friends. Going to Comella's is a tradition I have with my mom whenever I'm in town; however, we usually get the same thing every time so here they are. Kale Caesar: this salad is made of baby kale rather than shredded kale so it is pretty tender. Other than that, there is nothing really different or special about this salad. This salad doesn't have chicken and I don't think it's worth 7 dollars. However, this salad goes well with the other menu items!! Cute Kate's: this pizza is a shrimp scampi pizza and it is DELICIOUS! The shrimp is meaty, it's full of garlic aroma, and the cheese pull is amazing. Putting some red pepper flakes will elevate this pizza. However, it is very oily so I always dab some napkins/papertowels to get rid of some oil. Aunt Issy's Mess: I have tried few of their messes and it's great. It is definitely not the most pretty looking pasta, but I like the different pasta types that are in it. My favorite mess is Aunt Issy's, which has vegetables, meatballs, and sausage. I like that Comella's tomato sauce is very savory and their meatballs are great. It is a good comfort food! 5 Stars for all the memories at Comella's, friendly service, and great pizza!

Margarita pizza with baked in metal wire.

Was our go to place for pizza in Belmont. No longer. Our last pizza had a more than one inch long and sharp metal wire baked into the crust. See photo, which shows the wire sticking out, and one can see that it extends through the entire piece of crust.

"Grandpa's Mess"

Surprisingly good! Their "messes" are a mix of pasta, sauce, cheese and whatever else they feel like throwing in the mix. Lots of food for single servings and the mozzarella sticks are served with hot, homemade marinara sauce. Seriously tasty Italian food.

Five dollar large cheese pizzas are amazing! I might give it five stars but I haven't ventured away from the pizza yet.

I was pointed towards Stone Hearth Pizza by one of my colleagues who lives the area. I decided to…read moregive this place a try. They are known for their thin crust pizza. I decided to order pizza for takeout from Stone Hearth. I decided to order a regular size (12") of the chicken pesto pizza (whole wheat, added Thai peppers) and the junior (9") sweet hearth pizza (without the bacon). The order was ready on time and the staff seemed friendly as I picked it up. Both the pizzas tasted well, and I'd say I liked both of them. The sweet hearth pizza has roasted butternut squash, bacon (got mine without it), fontina cheese, goat cheese, scallions with sautéed red onions. I thought I may not like the sweet hearth but I was surprised because I really liked it! If I order from Stone Hearth again, which I probably will, I will definitely get the sweet hearth. I know that everyone has a different taste. Some people like thicker crusts with a lot of cheese, some like it thinner. I tend to prefer mine to be on the thinner side, though not incredibly thin, and I believe that Stone Hearth was able to offer me this in their pizza. While I was very satisfied with the pizza, the price did seem a little on the higher side. It cost me about $17 for the 12" chicken pesto pizza and about $10 for the 9" sweet hearth pizza. I tend to have a big appetite and usually can eat a whole 16" pizza by myself. While the price won't stop me, if I find better pizza at a similar or better price, I will likely go for that.

Was just here trying to support them during town day…read more... Ordered a slice and a salad and the girl ringing me up admitedly had trouble adding 6+3 then gave me the wrong change. When I asked for my correct change there was confusing and the manager Joseph was extremely condescending and smarmy. Ew. Will not be back.

I should have read the reviews of new ownership before purchasing…read more I saw dave Portnoy do a review of Stellas giving it a pretty great rating; it was from a while back about a year or so. Saw the restaurant has been around for many decades, saw some reddit reviews saying it was an amazing pizza. However I did not see the information it was under new ownership since the start of 2025. Wish I had We bought two pizzas. a Cheese and a Chicken parm. To say there was no flavor is not an understatement. The pizzas are very thin which is fine but little sauce, The sauce itself has almost no flavor, its bare bones basic, we had to throw on oregano at the house to taste anything. Cheese is very underwhelming. I dont think we will be back for this alone. The chicken parm was just a barebones basic parm cut up and throw ontop the pizza... again its okay but underwhelming, parm sauce and cheese should also have more ingredients added to it as they are just so mediocre. We had fried dough bites and those were pretty good at least. you get quite a bit for 4 bucks. They were a little chewy however,.. but cant complain on these otherwise. Pizza came luke warm, not sure if they use a pizza warmer or not upon delivery. Buying delivery from their website had a nice app telling us where the driver was but not sure if its a doordash or some other 3rd party. While the pizza was big, it was thin and had no flavor to it and I mean no flavor, ive never had a pizza that was underwhelmingly bland before, I had absolutely no idea pizza could be like this. Somehow they found the mark for the most tasteless pizza on the market...i cant emphasize this enough. but if that doesnt bother you the pizza XL is at least 16 dollars for a Cheese. I really wish it was as good as past reviews with the last owners. but i cant recommend this place. Been eating pizza for 45 years and this was not the worst, its just nowhere near even basic, its in a category all its own, like a pizza in limbo waiting for flavor, a pizza dough with sticks and leaves ontop would have more flavor... The ingredients need help and love to make this pizza even standard.

The size was great, the meat was flavored well, and it was brought right to my table by the cook (empty restaurant ), so overall I was pleased! Didn't take my breath away, but didn't disappoint me. It didn't come with any side, and that was disappointing to me. I also splurged and got the fries dough because someone else mentioned it here on yelp...it really was extremely delicious very large portion and soooo tasty.

Pricing is reasonable and portion size is good. I'd give it 3.5 stars but i can only choose 3 or 4. Italian sub - Ingredients looks fresh and tasted as expected. Size is good. Nashville hot slider and tender - This is nothing like a place like Dave's Hot Chicken...I was hoping it would be so I gave it a try. It was an admirable attempt but falls short. The chicken is not as crispy or breaded, not spicy at all...nothing like Dave's. If you don't have that expectation, you might still enjoy this. Its a HUGE plate of food that can easily feed 2 people. The fries are excellent...think older school Burger King fries...the ones that were extra crispy with that coating. Fresh Fried Dough - These were made with fresh pizza dough and so good. Really great treat or dessert and I would say is a must try! Great portion size, great taste...soooo good! Meat lovers pizza - Tons of toppings on our pizza but it was a basic pizza. Not bad, not great...but okay and typical.
