I think this place would be great to bring kids 5 yrs and up. There's a lot of neat things to look at. I was constantly looking at the details of everything on the walls or the life size characters. I went here on a Friday night, it wasn't too busy but I think they were understaffed. My waitress was also the bartender and constantly going back and forth behind the bar to 3 tables. No big deal. I usually never order ribs but it sounded good and they were SO good & a big order, but they got me and my friends fries wrong, which again, not a big deal since we just switched with each other. My friends didn't like their food though, wasn't flavorful enough for them. And then our appetizer came once we were all done with our meals so that was kind of lame. I am not too crazy about strong alcohol so I really enjoyed the drink. For those who like stronger drinks, I would recommend letting them know you would want it stronger. The idea behind this restaurant is amazing. Conceptually it's intriguing and the structure has SO much potential. You can tell the owner had a vision and it was executed well initially. "Initially" is likely the key word as it presents terribly today compounded by horrific customer service and over-priced mediocre food. We had reservations but it hardly mattered as we waited forever as they said they had to clean and prepare tables. They instruct everyone to "walk around" while you wait but you have to uncomfortably walk around others eating to view different characters. We were excited to sit in the Star Wars section but everything was run down and weathered. Poor Chewbacca looked like he needed a good comb, Darth Vaders chest plate was broken, R2D2 was dirty, carpets gave off a mildew smell and it just got worse. We were seated and our waiter was overwhelmed with few tables and seemingly unhappy to be there. We ordered two appetizers and a kids meal as at this point we didn't want to stay too long. We never received plates so upon asking another waiter he went over to a bussing station with dirty plates, cleaning towels and other things like menus and tried to literally brush off 3 plates to provide to us. We were appalled and took photos of them doing this. They also gave other tables plates from this area. We resorted to using napkins as were disgusted. OSHA and Health Inspectors would have had a field day here. Kids Mac had a bizarre mustardy and paprika cheese paste that was not suited for a kiddos palette. The pretzel was okay. The mozzarella sticks were hardly in a tower as described and/or worth the cost and hype. Overall the structure was like a once-costly Marvel/Comic exhibit but was tainted by touch and disgruntled personnel with no passion and it created a recipe for this one time stop restaurant. Although I'm only giving 3 stars, you should definitely go check this place out. It is really cool! It's a restaurant all decked out with Marvel characters, Harry Potter nods, Stars Wars, and even the Simpsons! It's pretty cool to not only see, but to witness all the kids & adults walking by, pointing and shouting "oh, wow! Look at that!!" However, if it weren't for the awesome ambiance, I wouldn't suggest stopping in. We definitely got the feeling that this restaurant was pretty poorly ran. We got a table right away, waited a bit for a server, but then got our whole order placed at the initial greet. The server said it was fine to walk around to see the whole place, so that's what we did. Luckily, my husband went back to the table just as the hostess was trying to seat another party at our table! She then asked my husband if someone sat us there or if we took the liberty to seat ourselves... he said "yeah, not only did someone seat us, but the server already brought us drinks and rang in our order." After touring the place, we all sat down in hopes of our food arriving soon. We waited, and waited, and waited... we even watched the group that the hostess tried to seat at our table get their food and happily start eating. Our server did apologize for the wait, but the food still took a bit after that. The food was good, exactly as expected. We got some sandwiches and our kids got the corn dogs. Kind of disappointed, the hostess was so cold and you could barely understand her. Got to our seat go an appetizer Willy Fry's they were ok the fry's weren't cooked all the way and were soggy. My daughter got the little pasta it's more like a few noodles swimming in Ragu sauce with a burnt meatball. I got the Supreme Cheesesteak, the bread was so soggy and there was more cheese and peppers than meat, I ate a few sweet potato fry's and well got a rotten one!!! The idea is there but the food is lacking. Oh and if you want real silverware you have to ask other wise you are given plastic forks. The way they brought our food out was one meal at a time with like 10-15 min in between. So my food was cold by the time my husbands food came out. The decor is pretty cool but they need to seriously do a clean on the entire restaurant everything is dusty and the restrooms well I won't leave that picture here. Very disappointed!!!! What an overrated dump with horrible service. I made a reservation days ahead of time, including the fact that we needed a high chair. We arrived, no high chair. I had to ask twice and it took 15 minutes to get one, so we couldn't sit down to order until it was brought over. When the server finally came over, I told him it was my baby girls birthday and asked if they could add sprinkles to the churro sundae that I planned to order for her after dinner. He said yes. Despite that, when the sundae was brought out, the person who brought it (not our server) saw the birthday plate I brought for my little one and said oh! Is it her birthday?? I replied yes. She ran away with the sundae and brought it back with the sparkler candle so they could all sing happy birthday. (So my note on the reservation and the info i gave the server about the birthday made no difference). On to the food: gross. JC bacon cheeseburger was soooo drippy from the carmelized onions that the bottom bun was soaked. Disgusting. The patties are clearly frozen. They are over salted by the kitchen staff, and the American cheese used on it is the cheapest you can get. The decor in the Star Wars lounge is a JOKE. is that Chewbacca's corpse??? He looks dead as if he were taxidermy. There are two R2D2's and no c3PO... there's a jar jar binks And Watto but no c3po??where's Grogu?? And it was as hot as an oven up there. And dirty as hell. The whole place feels dirty and IS dirty. Some of the statues are so horrible, they look nothing like the characters. Wtf is going on with Yoda downstairs?? He looks like Christopher Walken dressed up in a bad Yoda costume. Oh- and our server checked on us one time. Never offered more drinks, I had to wave him over to clear off the table for dessert. Amazing experience! My kid and I went late before closing and service was over the top friendly and welcomed us with opened arms showing no frustration considering the kitchen was about to close. Food got to our table fast, they let us walk around the place without any sweat, and the life size figures and busts were so cool, the way everything was set up in themes did it for me. When we looked at the menu, even the menu was themed to superheros, really creative. Five minutes after closing time, the waiter talked to us in a friendly manner about different locations and other figures around the place as if we first people to enter. The food I would give about a 3, we ordered Mac and cheese which has no cheese flavor to it, the chicken tenders were amazing and cooked at the right temperature. My wife had a burger but it wasn't as favorable as we thought it would have been. The area was amazing and to be honest not as awkward to walk around taking pictures and videos. I've read a few reviews saying their food is terrible. We loved everything. I got the TBLT (first T is for turkey) and it was delicious. Kids Alfredo, delicious. Kids grilled cheese, delicious. Fries and sweet potato fries, delicious. My husband got the meatball sub and loved it. The kids shared a soft pretzel and loved it. I also got a Mrs Kiwi drink and was very yummy. Not sure why they are so many bad reviews about service but our server was great- nothing over the top but very attentive and polite as you should be if you're a server, so no complaints there. A+ for creativity and uniqueness of the names of the food and drink items. It felt like I was at universal studios taking a lunch break so the restaurant achieved the appropriate feel. I didn't go here for the food but it was better than I expected. Definitely recommend the veggie sandwich- even if you aren't a proclaimed vegetarian. It is two stories and the second story is all Star Wars. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Honestly the service could have been better as we had to wait quite a while to give our order. It may have just been an off night for customer service, but since we were so intrigued by the atmosphere it didn't bother us as much. We came to ComicX for a birthday party and left with more entertainment than just the singing. To start, our waiter was AMAZING. Her name was Linda and she put so much time and effort into her outfit. She was so friendly and attentive. However, she was serving another table who was clearly giving her a hard time the entire night and WALKED OUT ON THEIR TAB making a scene in front of the entire restaurant. The family was yelling at the staff saying stuff like "So what if we walk out, you can't follow us anyway." It was truly awful and the staff didn't deserve that. ComicX does a great job of bringing you into the Comic world... I was disappointed at the outside as it doesn't draw you in as much as it could... huge missed opportunity IMO... I had the avocado fries and butter beer. I enjoyed the deep fried avocado but the Aoli didn't move me. The Butter Beer (nonalcoholic) was pretty delicious!
