It was my first time going to seaport in a while and it felt so nice to be in the area and try Commitee. This is really one of the "it" spots in the neighborhood. The outside was popping like the good old days and the inside was more calm dinner/ chill vibe. This restaurant is tapa style so we ordered a few plates to share. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the actual names. For instance we had a cod/rice mix wrapped in vine leaves, which I was not excited, but it was actually very flavorful and not fishy-like. The lamb skewers were well flavored with a light yogurt mix. The food was ok, but the excruciatingly slow and rude service is what really tanked my experience here. I came here for dinner with my cousin and tried a few dishes - Burrata, Lobster Paccheri, Beef Makaronaki, and Greek Fries. After we were seated, it took maybe 20 minutes for someone to come by and take our order, and then it took a full 90 minutes for the Burrata and the Lobster Paccheri to come out (yes, I counted). I had to run to an event after dinner, so asked them to please bring out the Beef Makaronaki, Greek Fries, and check all at once. They then brought out the Beef Makaronaki and the Lamb Frites; I told them that I did not order the lamb and that I ordered the Greek Fries, at which point I was told that I was mistaken because "there are no fries on the menu" even though the Greek Fries are clearly listed under "sides" for $12 (?????). If it was a small plate and/or something I liked, I may have just accepted the order, but I don't like lamb and the dish was $42. Ultimately, the waiter told me to "Just keep it" (not in a nice way) and left our table. It then took another 10-15 minutes for us to get our check, and I was ultimately late to my event. The food was ok. The Burrata and the Lobster Paccheri were decent (they were quite generous with the lobster) but the Beef Makaronaki was mediocre. Then we ordered the Poikilia Kreaton for $118 which was plenty of food for 3 people. The souvlaki was decent, the lamb chops were unfortunately overcooked and disappointed the group, the chicken meatballs were not bad, brizola which is a Greek Style pork chop was THE BEST pork chop any of us have ever had -- all 3 of us were blown away. It was so juicy and tender it was absolutely fantastic and I'd go back in a heartbeat just to have an order of pork chops. And I never even order pork chops in a restaurant. How to make patrons feel horrible - Part 1 Arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation. Place was fairly empty. One of my daughters was in a wheelchair and one had a blue plastic summer camp swim bracelet on her arm. The man at the door barked at my daughter that she had to cut the bracelet off before she could come into the restaurant. He repeated this twice. She started to cry and tried to break it off her arm. I. told her to not worry about it but for the rest of the evening she felt horrible because she was afraid he would come back and check on her. Unsure if this was a drinking age issue. She's 15 and he didn't explain. He seemed unconcerned about his impact on us. Went to the hostess stand as barked at by man at door to check in. Hostess seemed stressed and not friendly. Asked about an extra chair for my child in the wheelchair. Her leg is in a cast and she needs to prop her leg, ideally. Hostess who didn't make eye contact told us there were no extra chairs in the restaurant. We asked again in a different way, wondering if she could seat us somewhere where the cast leg could be accommodated. Again she said there were no chairs and ignored us. She brought us to a four top (we were five), grabbed a plate from another table to add the 5th setting, and pointed to the banquette side of table, expecting my three teenage daughters (one with leg in cast) to squeeze in there. My daughters, scared by the barking, rude and unkind man at the front door and now by the hostess, squeezed in. My daughter with cast had to prop her leg across the laps of my two other daughters sitting next to her. Part two - Almost better - Our waiter was William and he was perfect. Kind, funny, helpful and great at his job. Explained things, checked in a lot, looked us in the eye and turned around the evening. Summary - We are business women who travel a lot for work, have a number of children in college in Boston, come here regularly and are frequently asked for restaurant recs from friends. Management should provide training or a pink slip to rude man at the front door, and unfriendly hostesses. Promote William and have him train staff. Food was terrific. read more

I actually enjoyed this place a lot more than I thought I would. I do have to say, the food Id give a 3.75, but the vibes and service bump it up to a 4. Seaport itself is a vibe but the location and interior is very well done. I find myself going frequently to have drinks and share small plates with friends. The small plates are fairly small, but between two people and drinks, I'd say 4 is plenty. Not all are pictured but I got the following: Trio of dips - very basic. Too much dip for so little bread. still a classic and solid starter. Zucchini crisps - it's okay, but I wouldn't get it next time. Nothing special Fried calamari - this was a pleasant surprise. never had calamari with banana peppers and was surprised by the combination. The fried outer layer was light and crispy and not caked in batter so I didn't feel like I needed soda immediately after eating it. Souvlaki - solid lamb honestly. I'm not a huge fan of lamb but all the other plates were too carb heavy so this was a good balance. Sauce complimented it very well. I had attended a graduation celebration here and I was pleased. Where do I start, management worked with the party to tweak the menu to add plentiful of small bites and remove any allergies. Some of the small bites offered were: Lamb Souvlaki Chicken souvlaki Crispy Chicken Bao Short Rib Bao As for their drinks, the Falkors flight mocktail was refreshing & delicious. Committee is a trendy restaurant in the Seaport. It is a lot of Greek/Mediterranean inspired food. A lot of small plates as well as some larger meals. The feta with honey is a must! It's a baked block of feta with honey and sesame seeds on the outside. So good dipped with pita! Another standout were the roasted rainbow carrots. Here for a work party and the food was out of this world. I definitely enjoyed the buffet of reimagined Greek classics for the actual dinner, but the real star was both the kind and constant service of the staff as they continuously passed out what I can only describe as appetizers that I won't ever forget. Honey and sesame feta, spanakopita dumplings (!!), fritters, souvlaki, meatballs with tzatziki, and octopus that I will never, and I mean never, forget. I'm a Greek who has never been to the homeland but for one glorious night I felt like I was actually there, every time I ate up one of those bites of perfectly tender, slightly charry, totally flavorful octopus. Good. Gravy. Been to a lot of holiday parties in Boston at many different restaurants and event spaces over the past fifteen years and this was easily my favorite. Went to Committee for a Father's Day brunch and the food was just okay. Parking: This spot is in the Seaport. Allow lots of time to find parking or take an Uber. Ambiance: This is a really cool looking restaurant down to the pennies on the bathroom floor. Food: We got shakshouka, souvlaki, and okra horiatiki. It all came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The shakshouka was lacking in flavour and was served with hardly enough pita to get at the tomato and red pepper mixture. The eggs were wonderfully runny though. The lamb in the souvlaki was perfectly cooked but lacked seasoning, the tzatziki was just okay. The okra horiatiki should be called horiatiki topped with fried okra strips. I don't think the okra in this dish amounted to one small okra, and the olives were missing in action. Service: We saw the person refilling water more than we saw our server. In fact she was the one we asked for more pita. After waiting for the server to get payment the host noticed my wait and took payment. Less than attentive. I'll return at a later date, maybe for dinner. Hopefully it would be a better experience. read more

Great ambiance , food, and drinks! Came here on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation and was seated at the bar within minutes. Would probs make a reservation next time but the bar was still quite nice. Do note that there is a time limit of 1.5 hours if you're seated there. Food was so good. We got the trio meze platter and the dips were so flavorful. The pita so soft. I had the mushroom moussaka which tasted like mushroom potato lasagna. Super yummy. Came here for dinner on a weekday. There was no wait to get seated. The hostess and waiter were professional. There was sufficient space among diners both indoors and outdoors for social distancing in this pandemic. I got the tzatziki trio to start, which were all so good, but my favorite was the curry flavored dip (they do switch up their dips every season). My only complaint was that there was way too little pita for the amount of dips. For entree, I had the lobster "gnocchi", which was meaty and decently fresh and went really well with the tomato/cheese-based sauce. I had the ravani and the Mt. Olympus flowers tea for dessert. My first impression of committee was that they overbook on reservations. We had a reservation for 7:30 and waited until 8PM to actually be seated, all while I watched multiple people from the bar snagging tables the second a table was cleaned off; as our server was seating us, a group of women swarmed our table before the server told them they could not sit there. Food was average and poorly timed, our friend waited over 20 minutes for their entree while the rest of the food had been served, and drinks did not come out until after appetizers. Redeeming qualities were that the server was very nice and the decor was cool. Definitely not somewhere to have a first date, as it was difficult to hear over the music. read more

Very much enjoyed brunch here. The restaurant filled up very quickly just minutes after opening on this weekend morning, but nonetheless our server was cheery and we didn't wait very long for anything. At the same time, did not feel rushed. The vibe inside is elegant and the space is a bit on the dim side, with dark tones throughout. However, we chose to sit at one of the lower tables in the front section of the restaurant by the glass windows facing the street, and got lots of natural light. We decided to try the greek yogurt pancakes and the shakshuka, to take in a bit of a sweet & savory brunch combination. Both were quite good. I am not a big pancakes eater historically, but I thoroughly enjoyed the greek yogurt pancakes. They were light and fluffy, and you could actually taste the yogurt element. The blueberry on top and the lemon curd were appropriate complementary flavors and made for an excellent sweet breakfast option. The shakshuka was served hot in the pan, as is tradition. It was a bit pricey at $24, but easily serves 2 - I want to say there were 6 eggs but there may have been 8. Regardless, the flavors worked well together and it was cooked to perfection. The tomato sauce taste fresh and was not overwhelming. I was a bit surprised to find that there were eggshells in our shakshuka, and I'm not sure whether this was the restaurant's intention or not. But every single egg I fished out of the pan had some crunchy egg shell fragments within it. These could've been a texture element, however. Not my favorite addition, but I've had bad shakshuka before and this was pretty great regardless by comparison. I would definitely come back for brunch. My friend and I have this thing where we take turns choosing the place to hang out. It was my turn, and initial thought was "boring", so we decided to get some Greek/Mediterranean instead. To start, they bring out some warm pita and veggie hummus. The pita was warm and the hummus was mild yet flavorful with just the right amount of oiliness. Both tasted fresh and homemade, and weren't over-the-top, but still a notch or two (or three) above store-bought. Okra Horiatiki was alright. A pretty basic salad with a little flair. The dressing, if any, wasn't overdone eiither. My suggestions for improvement: I did find there was a little too much feta, and the okra crisps, while a nice touch, were out of sync with the salad. It may be a good idea to have the strips be smaller, if not integrated in the salad. Bao was an interesting experience. Overall, the Baos was more in line with baos found in Asian restaurants, with just a little greek flair by way of the slaw and sauce. Because they were advertised as "gyro" I expected the meat to be a little closer to the meat you shave off those large rotisserie machines. My gripe is that the meat wanted it to stick together, so biting into the gyro, the rest of the meat followed, leaving me with mostly steamed bun and some slaw/sauce. These flairs of slaw and sauce were nice, but didn't put too big a dent in the flavor. Having a little more crunch would be appreciated. Great Scott! cocktail was an interesting mixture, but all the additions didn't really shine through. Reading about the brown-butter washed whiskey, Cynar, vanilla, saline, creole and chocolate bitters I expected something out of this world. Instead, I got what was just a really solid old-fashioned. Dessert-wise, Galaktobourekakia (think baklava only with custard) didn't really do it for me. On the plus side, the dough was amazingly flaky, and the custard was tasty. On the minus the balances were off, and it seemed heavy on the custard for something intended as an interpretation of a baklava. Where this place shines though, is the service. Not only was it the usual "quick and polite" I write so often, but exceedingly attentive. When I needed to find my server, and another saw me looking around, they came over and offered their help. Teamwork... it makes the dream work, because the dream without food... well... is less tasty. read more

Everything was delicious...pancakes were light and fluffy, accompanied by a sweet whipped cream that was freshly addicting. The gyro was good, but the hash browns could have been smashed instead of cubed. The feta was the real star of this production. A very social media friendly atmosphere, combined with food that has good flavors? Sign me up. Committee is a spot that sports beautiful presentations and food that is fairly enjoyable. FOOD: The main dishes we ordered were brunch pancakes and shakshuka - the pancakes were perfectly fluffy with a berry compote that had a nice balance of sweet and tart while the shakshuka was fairly average that was borderline too much tomato sauce base for ratio of eggs and things in it. The apps we ordered were some calamari and zucchini crisps. The zucchini crisps were great, but the calamari was just okay seeing as they were fried fine but not quite seasoned so they were quite bland. Generally speaking, I'd come back for the crisps and the pancakes but might skip on the shakshuka and the calamari next time. They were okay but not great. SERVICE: our waitress was stellar. She checked in on us a few times, answered all of our questions about the menu items, and even entertained some conversation when she wasn't busy checking on all her tables. Generally speaking, she made this experience amazing. Overall, I'd be willing to come back if I had friends wanting to meet up here. However, with so many places in Boston, it's not necessarily my first choice food wise. If we're strictly talking about ambiance and service, this place is a 10/10. I was working an event at the convention center and was staying at the Westin in the Seaport District in Boston. I have a lot of friends who live in Boston so one of my girls recommended we meet at Comittee. We were originally supposed to meet at The Gathering across the street but it was a Monday night and The Gathering was completely empty, however across the street at Comittee was Poppin, in a great way. I took an Uber over to Comittee to meet my friend, I was able to walk right in. There were several birthday parties going on as well as the place was packed. I had never heard of Comittee before and wasn't sure what type of food it was. What I was sure of is if they had a cow on the menu I could've probably eaten it. I was busy all day and didn't get a chance to eat once. What I knew for sure is that I needed a big martini the size of my face and tons of food. I was really excited to hear that it was a tapas restaurant because I have always enjoyed that style of eating. We ordered the three dip plate that is served with delicious toasted bread. We also order the taziki and chicken skewers. We got the salmon tartare which was delicious. With these four dishes, we were more than full. The drinks were delicious. We had martinis and wine. Our server was awesome. He was in his early 20s and hilarious. Definitely made the experience even better. I was so wrapped up in my food and drink I forgot to take any photos, but trust me. This place is definitely worth it. It is decorated so cool, definitely a hip and trendy Boston restaurant. Prices are affordable especially with how delicious the food is. Bon appétit. Since this experience I have been back twice, the first time I was out to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, we were able to walk right in and we were given a great spot right in the entrance with our own couch and booth. Without a reservation, it was really nice to have that kind of special service. Our server was Max who was great and very attentive to the birthday girl, he even brought out a delicious flourless chocolate cake for the occasion. The second time I was out with a big group of friends, some are my family and friends from Boston and I also had some friends from Los Angeles in. This time was a little bit trickier because it was a Saturday night at around 8:30 pm. We made a reservation at the door and the host said that it might be an hour to an hour and a half. We were going to be starving by that point, but we put in my name and hoped for the best. We walked to the bar and had a few drinks. I had to check on our table twice, the time kept changing. 45 minutes, a half hour, at this point we asked the host if he could recommend a place nearby that might be a little bit less busy. We decided to stay, and 20 minutes later we were escorted to our table. The food was delicious as always. It is Mediterranean, tapas style so the six of us were able to pass around dishes and all share them and talk about the food. Since we had already been at the bar for two hours, we didn't get any drinks and our tab was only $100. We were able to eat in less than an hour and we were on our way. The service was OK this time. Overall, I always have a good time when I come here. The environment is great, it is in the up and coming downtown Seaport area. I highly recommend this experience. read more

Had reservations for 5pm and the hostess let us in a smidge early. Initial thoughts: the music was pretty loud but eventually died down towards the end of our dining experience + loved the aesthetic (lots of wood, brick, and hanging plants). I got the Daikiri-San cocktail (Flor de Caña 12yr rum, acidified pineapple, sesame, ginger, nori, santaka chili, lime zest) which was very interesting, as you took a sip you got a whiff of the nori attached to the glass and the initial sweet and sour of the drink was rounded out with the slight heat of the chili on the palette on the way out. Dishes are meant to be shared (are decently sized, 1/4 of our party was vegetarian and the meat dishes were easily split amidst 3 people) and we had no bad dishes. Service: we were promptly welcomed by our server who was very friendly and gave us a rundown of the restaurant and drink special and were periodically checked in on and always had our waters refilled Appetizers: the trio of dips was good, the star for me was the grill kissed slices of pita that came along with it + the feta was amazing, the sesame crust and touch of honey reminded me of the sesame balls from dim sum Veggies: the spanakopita manti was good (have to get a little of every part of the dish in one bite) but the star for me was the patates (new potatoes, tomato yiahni, garlic yogurt) which I believe was par-boiled then baked to perfection with some slight sweetness and acidity from the tomato yiahni and creaminess from the garlic yogurt Seafood: the scallops toursi was a smidge sweet however the scallops were very fresh (the pickled corn was a nice bit of crunch as well as the crispy pita) + the halibut was perfectly cooked and flaky Meat: if you read anything, read the following: the GFC (Greek Fried Chicken, tzatziki rub, blackened Greek yogurt, oregano fries, Greek slaw) was tied for the best fried chicken of my life (tied with Highland Fried in Inman Square RIP). There were 3 pieces with the order (two thighs and a drumstick) and the skin was perfectly seasoned and crispy / crunchy; the meat was perfectly cooked and moist. The oregano fries were normal style? kind of fries (not waffle or extremely skinny like McDonalds) and the accompanying sauce was nice to dip the chicken and fries into. If you decide to come here (which I highly recommend that you do) you have to request Diana as your server. She is kind, attentive, and has the most welcoming spirit. This restaurant is lucky to have someone like her! The ambience is top tier for friend gatherings or date nights. Greek style tapas and delicious drinks- couldn't ask for anything better.
