Ive been here before for the great and unique cocktails. Probably best for small groups when it comes to food though because it's a typical small plates place for a pretty penny. HOWEVER they have larger plate options that are great for 5+ people. We got the meat one and it was bomb. I suggest the tsatski and anything with the lamb, oh man so good. I also LOVED the mushroom fritter and the meat lovers in my party said it was better than most of the meat items available. My favorite meat was definitely either the sausage or the lamb patty. Lovely area; we managed to get outdoor seating and the view / feel was so refreshing. Definitely a popular spot for brunch, so would highly recommend booking a couple weeks in advance. They were very understanding when commuting took longer than expected, and the waitstaff was really helpful when deciding between menu items and giving recommendations based on our preferences. Foodwise, we ordered: Tzatziki Trio - The dips for this change semi-regularly it seems; we received tzatziki with eggplant, beet (a lovely pink color!), and spicy feta (?) cheese. Was a lovely dish for the table, as everyone had different favorites; would highly recommend as a conversation starter! Zucchini Crisps - Very crispy while still feeling light (my friend compared the feeling to that of tempura vegetables). Paired really well with the given dip, wish there was more for the amount of chips served! Souvlaki - Great lamb and very refreshing original tzatziki; probably one of the highlights of the meal. The lamb is served around medium well and is incredibly tender for souvlaki. Shakshouka - Pretty par for the course, but that's not at all bad when it comes to shakshouka! Large amount of sauce / eggs / cheese given, and lots of pita as well. generally, their pita is very well-made, as it stayed fluffy throughout the entire meal. Drinkwise, we ordered: Frozen rosé (frosé) - Was very sweet and light and lovely, definitely one to recommend. Spritz - Was the "What's Shakin'" cocktail of the day. Not too sure on the components, but was a great take on a spritz with a very fruity, sweet aftertaste. Half-naked and Instafamous - My friend ordered this with the understanding that it'd be a sour and dry drink. This may normally be true, but somehow, it seems hers somehow was missing the tequila; she swore she tasted no alcohol and that the drink tasted solely of grapefruit juice. Not sure what happened, unfortunately we didn't flag this down in time to resolve this well. There was a receipt mixup following our meal with another table, but our waiter swiftly resolved it. I've passed by Committee for a few times everytime I'm around Seaport area for either work or leisure, and for some reason have always thought of the place as more of a coffee shop. When I found out they serve Greek cuisine with a Contemporary American twist, I got genuinely curious to try and overall I had a great experience! We got here for a Saturday brunch and ordered a few items off the menu: Spanakopita Grilled Cheese (which was excellent - and I actually liked it better than traditional version!) has a nice addition of sauteed spinach and classic tomato soup. We also ordered the Zucchini chips, which was light and great for starter. A visit to a Greek-inspired joint won't be complete without sampling their Mezze - and Committee's had an interesting twist of pineapple which we quite enjoyed. Interiors-wise, the place has a great industrial vibe. It's very laidback, casual, yet classy enough to send a message as one of the eateries to watch in Seaport area. They would charge me $25 if my party doesnt show up. Thats really new for me. When we arrived for brunch, the entire indoor seating was empty and some of the outdoor seating was empty as well. Ordered several things of which the best was the lamb skewers- the food is generally mediocre. The roasted carrots were undercooked, the lamb ribs very fatty (had to send back), the fries were fine (hard to mess up), the pita bread was cold (Also no longer complimentary if you had read that in another review), and the shrimp risotto dish was undercooked with hard rice. Drinks were ok but nothing special for $17 each. After wanting to eat here for so long, I left very underwhelmed. My waiter did her best by bringing lamb skewers in place of the ribs, which I appreciated. Maybe brunch is better but dinner is a hard pass. read more

If you're looking for a slightly upscale Greek restaurant with a great atmosphere - this is your spot. I came here for Sunday brunch with a large group (10 people) and they were very accommodating. They take reservations, and were fully prepared with a table in the private room near the back of the restaurant. Service was terrific. To start, they bring you complimentary cranberry bread and fig dip - a fun twist on your normal bread and butter. The best dishes were definitely the shakshouka and the baklava oatmeal, and the zucchini crisps were great for sharing. I wouldn't recommend the Spanikopita grilled cheese - it was good, but nothing special! Very disappointed. The Okra appetizer barely had any okra in it. It was almost like they ran out of okra in the kitchen and they used the one remaining okra to lightly garnish the dish. The toast itself is well done, the whip cream and fruit offer a lightness and the nutella brings a ton of flavor. Zucchini Crisps - 3.5/5. Solid. Lightly battered but heavily salted. This place is solid. As a vegetarian, there are plenty of dishes to try. I would highly recommend the artichoke moussaka and the corn fritters. The 4 others in my group shared the Poikilia Kreaton and thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't try their cocktails this visit. A great ambience, lots of space. I am fairly confident that your experience here is proportional to the number of friends you bring, because that lets you try more of the many interesting meze (small plates). We were 10+ and had a blast, and most plates are big enough that you can either order 1 of each (everyone gets a bite) or 2 (everyone gets a hefty sample and some get seconds). Winners include anything that's a spread/dip, the artichoke heart moussaka, grilled octopus, and the saganaki (fried cheese nom nom). "Meh" includes an arugula salad, the whole grilled branzino (tasty but probably not worth the charge), and lamb/chicken souvlaki-style skewers. None were bad, but none will knock your socks off. I was disappointed by the drinks menu. The wine list was solid enough. The beers, however, are almost all cans, hence the bar full of tech bros drinking Boom Sauce. The cocktails were IMO not exciting -- almost none used the Greek liqueurs that headline the menu. We ended up going with tasting flights of those liqueurs instead. That is the partial reason this is 4 and not 5 stars. The other: service can be spotty. Food came out fast enough, and if you grab a waiter, they do respond. Our server, however, took a round of drinks orders, took the food orders, and then ghosted. As in, 20 minutes looking for him, followed by trying to get him to look up while he studiously folded napkins behind the bar. Dude. 10-person table, here for 2 hours. If you go and ask if they want more drinks, they will order more drinks. You will get tipped more. This is not rocket science. We had many thirsty diners. That said, food was top-notch and we got reasonably stuffed for about $50pp. For seaport, that ain't bad. I would gladly hit this again. read more

Committee was a destination for a recent post work event greeting new employees and summer interns. The establishment is in the Seaport District of Boston which is a hip, new destination of restaurants, bars, coffee shops along with a growing number of businesses, apartments, and condominiums. While we did have a section of the establishment cornered off for our private party, service was attentive and plentiful. Drinks, largely draft and craft beers, wines, with some cocktails, were eagerly refilled although wait times were longer than expected. Servers were also working through the crowd of 20-25 participants for the 5-7PM event with various hors d'oeuvres. The space itself it great with a modern industrial design and energetic vibe. The Mediterranean concept of sharing small plates is a popular one that committee also does well. We sampled and shared many traditional vegetable, meat and fish platters passed around by the staff. Even an accidental collision that caused a spill was quickly attended to by multiple staff, cleaned and restored to normalcy. Last night my husband and I were at this bar with his coworkers. For the purposes of this post, it's important to note that he's Black. He stood at the bar waiting for the bartender to notice him for a very long time while the bartender chatted with some other guests. Since the bar wasn't even crowded, he wasn't sure what the holdup is, but waited patiently. Finally, after about 10 minutes, he asked if he could get a drink, and the bartender said he couldn't help him because he "couldn't understand his accent." Since my husband had not yet even spoken to the bartender, he was a bit confused by this statement, and said as much. In response to this rational question, the bartender gestured to security and they *literally forced* my husband to leave. APPARENTLY, this crusty, pretentious bar has a policy that if the bartender says someone is being belligerent, security and management will blindly agree and throw the person out. While I understand the purpose behind this rule, my husband WAS NOT being belligerent. He was pointlessly removed from an establishment where he was a paying customer. Security even apologized to him and echoed his confusion (we're not upset with security as they were just doing their job and did not manhandle or disrespect him). I can only conclude the obvious: the bartender made unfair assumptions about my husband based on the color of his skin and his slight Haitian accent. Do I have a single reason to think otherwise? I have to know: what the hell is this policy of yours? My husband was neither drunk nor belligerent, and no one else in the bar was treated this way. We've been to this bar before and had a great time, so we're not sure when you hired this bartender, but what a mess. We will NEVER, ever, ever be coming back here, nor will our friends, coworkers, or family members. Big mistake. Huge. UPDATE: the owner reached out to me after this review was posted and doubled down, calling my husband "belligerent" and "aggressive." If you've lived in America for any amount of time, you know these words - when applied to Black men - are code. This is NOT true. My husband was neither aggressive nor belligerent. A friend recommended this place because of my obsession with shakshuka! The decor is so modern and chic (and of course insta worthy!) which made the perfect place for a girls brunch! Now, the food: We had the Tsoureki Toast, which was basically French toast topped with fresh whipped cream, honey and berries. This dish was surprisingly light and not as sweet as it looked. There was a perfect balance between the tangy berries and the light whipped cream that melted over the hot toast. Absolutely to die for! Greek Yogurt Pancakes were also good, but the flavors were essentially the same as the toast. If I had a choice, I'd go with the Tsoureki Toast because it was lighter than the pancakes.
