We live in the South Bay in house that was built in 1921 with lath and plaster so getting good WiFi is not easy. Brian spent a few hours assessing our entire house, Sonos system and TV's. He provided a thorough, detailed proposal that addressed our needs. He did not try to nickel and dime us or oversell as others tried to do. Brian goes above and beyond (went to Home Depot to buy mat black paint to hide marks behind the media room TV). The 4 people who work for him are impeccable and care about the job being done beautifully. We are so appreciative of his work and follow through. Brian came back twice to troubleshoot a technical challenge from old equipment, at no charge because he insisted the entire system work perfectly. Read the many 5 star reviews of Circuit Genius over the past 7 years, which are spot on- so very happy that we did.

My initial review stated that I was forced to file a lawsuit against Brian Staller / Circuit Genius (legally known as: Performance Telecomm) for breach of contract. The matter is now permanently settled by the court. After the vendor filed an appeal, the Los Angeles Superior Court ruled in my favor and found Circuit Genius / Performance Telecomm liable for breach of contract. Owner Brian Staller calls this a "frivolous lawsuit" in his response to my initial review, but the facts prove otherwise. In his response to my first post, Brian called the lawsuit "bananas-level false" and "frivolous." The fact that I won a judgment against this company not once, but twice--once at trial and again on appeal--means that two judges ruled in my favor, finding Circuit Genius / Performance Telecomm in breach of contract. The court's decision validated the vendor's refusal to honor two key contractual agreements: 1. The Refund Scam: The vendor refused to process an agreed-upon refund for a Yamaha receiver (which the contract stated had "No restock fee if not wanted"). Instead, he attempted to coerce me into a "settlement" that required me to sign a document agreeing to no online reviews, legal proceedings, chargeback attempts or warranty support for work done. 2. Deceptive Practices: After agreeing in writing to return to my home and install a network rack at "no extra charge," he later refused to do so unless I paid a new 2-hour service minimum. He then withheld equipment that I had already paid for and refused to refund the cost of that equipment. **This Contractor is now a Regulatory Liability** More than six months after the final judgment, Brian Staller / Circuit Genius / Performance Telecomm has refused to pay the court-ordered debt. His failure to comply with the judgment has resulted in severe disciplinary action: 1. License Suspension: The Contractors State License Board (CSLB), has suspended his license for failure to comply with an outstanding civil judgment. (See CSLB Record for Performance Telecomm; License 117708). 2. Business Lien: I have filed a lien against this business to attempt to enforce the judgement owed (See State of California Notice of Judgement Lien; File No: U250127585224). This business employs deceptive practices and does not honor contractual agreements. Brian is desperate to get 5-star reviews and refuses to accept anything less even if it means bullying and using intimidation tactics with his customers. A business that ignores its legal obligations, has a lien against it, and has its state license suspended should be a major red flag to anyone reading this. Do not put yourself through a lengthy legal ordeal with this vendor. Proceed with extreme caution.

Scott clearly was in the process of doing a major high end remodeling of the building's upstair's space and it appeared to be only a few weeks away from completion.Scott asked me to bring my art work to the location and had offered to custom frame my art to fit the decor. Additionally, he asked me to create a series of 8 original golf paintings as "golf" was the theme of the clubhouse they were building. From that point on, everything was a total fiasco. Not only did the project never get finished or open, I had to beg for months to get my art work returned to me, only to find that Scott and Chameleon both claimed they could not find one of my paintings, worth several thousand dollars. Scott rarely returns phone calls or text messages and seems to have a penchant for misrepresenting things and making false promises and claims. These are very unprofessional and dishonest people to work with. I did everything I promised to do- I provide thousands of dollars of art on consignment, custom painted an entire series of golf paintings as exclusive decor for their club and even more- and they couldn't even return to me all of my art. Of course, they did not even frame anything, so in addition to making me suffer losses, they incurred zero expenses.

When the hard drive failed of my laptop a few weeks ago, I was devastated. I thought my family's pictures, songs and other important files were gone forever. I didn't think that anything could be done, but upon doing a little research I found that data recovery of my files might be possible. I called several companies while I was trying to get a better understanding of what I was up against and found that recovering this data was not going to be inexpensive. We had our accounting computer at our office fail and the hard drive started making a clicking sound. We found Computer Palace after calling several other companies and we found out they have an office right here in Santa Monica. As we talked to them we felt they were our best chance for quick data recovery and we really did not want to ship the hard drive. We took the hard drive in that day and from start to end they were fantastic. They really made a difficult situation as simple as possible. Just an amazing experience overall. Friendly staff combined with quick and quality service. The coin cell battery on my laptop died and in order to fix it, my entire laptop had to be taken apart. Took it to other places and was told it would cost hundreds of dollars and take about a week to repair. Computer Palace did the work for less than a hundred dollars and in less than 48 hours I got my computer back, good as new. Plus, they provided me with a loaner laptop so I wouldn't miss a beat at work. I cannot recommend Computer Palace highly enough. read more

I love this place! They are fast, friendly and affordable. They are also great with Mac's! Sometimes it can take days to get an appointment at the genius bar, but this place accepts walk-ins. Recently my Macbook Pro broke down and I needed it fixed ASAP. I couldn't get an appointment at the apple store for 3 days which I couldn't wait for as I was on a deadline. A friend told me to go to this place on Santa Monica for Laptop repair .. so I did. These technicians are fabulous! The hard drive was failing and an IT tech recommended having it "imaged," which would result in an exact duplicate that would not require any software reauthentication. He also recommended Tech Care as the folks to do it. They initially tried doing an automatic imaging, which didn't take, so they attempted to manually image it and were successful. The computer now has a more reliable SSD drive (no moving parts) and it indeed works exactly as it used to (only faster). Eddie informed me that the old drive had maybe one month left before it completely failed. LIFE SAVERS!!! Eddie, Abed, Josh and everyone else I spoke to are top-notch guys, and the price to repair was eminently reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I know a bit about computers and knew it was probably…read moreone of three different parts that was faulty, but I didn't have spare components on hand to figure out which one myself; hoped they'd take a few hours and swap parts out until the issue stopped. I was told I would receive a call with an update the day after I brought it in. These guys had my PC for five days with no communication whatsoever. I can't get ahold of anyone over the phone, so I go in physically and ask what's up. They had misplaced my information and hadn't started working on the PC. Fine. I show them my info and leave them to it. Four more days pass. No call, no email. I go in again. What's up guys? They've eliminated one possible source of the problem, no dice. They act busy, tell me they'll call me with an update soon. For real this time, I guess. Two more days. I call them. Turns out they have been stuck and need my bitlocker password now, I'm happy to provide it and they tell me to wait for an email from them and then reply to it with the key. No problem. I wait for three hours before going over and hand-delivering it to them. They're working on eliminating a second possible source of the issue, and it's looking promising. Excellent. Before they close that evening I go in to see if it's solved, and I'm told that the yep, it's a faulty graphics card: they'd plugged in a different one and had no freezing issues. Great! All I need to do is take the PC home, get a new card, and we're good. I pay them $35 and I'm on my way. Though as I'm watching them go to unhook their test card, I notice that their test monitor definitely looks frozen. But they're the experts. Get home. Before I drop $800 on a new card, my spidey sense tingles, and I remember I do have an old graphics card on hand. Put it in my machine, just to see. Still freezes. So nearly two weeks went by between when I brought them my PC and when they incorrectly told me what the issue was. They are probably great if you don't know how to change your facebook password, but I would absolutely not take your stuff to them if you have anything more serious than that. Unless you like babysitting grown men, in which case you can probably still find a better way to get your fix.

I also had them look at a weird thing my laptop was doing. They fixed that too. I was in and out in15 minutes. I expected to pay at least double what they charged me. Well, my friend Jenny's laptop and iPad were no longer charging and 3 places couldn't fix them…read more However, one place recommended MY TECH WORLD. I met her there Tuesday afternoon for her dropping off her devices and hopefully, they could be fixed. Pascal, who is the owner was extremely kind, technically savvy and reasonably priced and told her they were fixable. She picked everything up today and every problem was solved perfectly!!! Well, this gem is a mile from my home and I couldn't be happier to know that "help" is sooo close. Parking lot holds many cars so double yay! My friend said it was a wonderful experience for her, especially with the removal of stress that had been hanging over her head... ( remember, 3 places could not fix her devices)...
