OUTSTANDING WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE. My business laptop crashed and the hard drive failed. I did not have a full backup. To say the least I was concerned about the ability to recover the data and the cost. One place I called first quote $500-$1,000 and they send it out to their main office out of Los Angeles. This was not an acceptable option. My computer tech recommended Computer Palace. I dropped the computer off at noon on Thursday. I received a call first thing the next morning. The data was recovered and transferred to an external drive. The existing hard drive was reformatted, and a new version of Windows 11 was installed. The cost was 80% less than any other estimate I received from data recovery companies. Oh, I get to pick it up less than 24 hours after I dropped it off. Everyone has a right to choose the rate that they charge for their business, but it's normally a better idea if you can't do something efficiently or effectively then just turn down the work this particular company when I asked them to have somebody program my TV remotes and clean up my Sonos system in groups they sent me back a message that said Well we normally charge $150 an hour for IT work but for Sonos work we're gonna charge you $250 an hour. Buyer beware this is a ridiculous rate for something that is observed. My numbing is doing something such as Sonos, which is really quite easy. I just don't have time to do It read more

I brought my laptop in last week because the hinge broke which also exposed part of the monitor (common issue with HP Envy). Navid had the best price and convenient parking so I took it in. We replaced my daughter's MacBook Pro here for a fraction of what other places charge. A battery for this laptop costs $40-70. Why are so many places charging $250+? Anyone who finds it that difficult to replace a laptop battery is probably not qualified to do anything more complicated, like actually repairing a computer! I spilled water on my laptop and went to apple for the Genius Bar help and the woman straight up was like-- you may as well buy a new one because it cause $800 or so to ship to the place to fix it and we're not even sure if we can get it fixed. I was concerned that I wasn't going to be able to retrieve the files and after two attempts with different software, they got it fixed. I chose this place because of the positive reviews and because they told me that they could do my repair in a day. They were more expensive than other quotes I got, but it seemed worth it for the assurance. So, to back up a bit, I maybe spilled a tiny bit of beer on my laptop. It was an emotional time and I'd appreciate your understanding. My computer still worked fine but the keys were a little sticky. They said they would call me when my replacement keyboard had arrived, and then they would do the repair in a day, no problem. Fine. Took it in, came back in a day. I was a happy customer. But when I got home and took it out of the bag I heard a *thunk* from inside the computer. There was something still loose inside. I took it back -- fighting LA traffic, obs -- and was told "sometimes the glue keeping the battery down wears off." What a crazy coincidence that this happened while they repaired it? Wild. They took it back and said they'd fix it. Another day later, another day fighting traffic. Grabbed the computer, seemed to be working fine. Brought it home and now the shift key only works about a third of the time. (Just look up at all those capitals in this review. And imagine how long that took me. And how annoyed I must be to take the time. That *thunk* took me like three minutes.) So now, they have said that they will let me know when another replacement keyboard is in stock. So I have gone from a computer that worked but was a little sticky, to a computer that now cannot be used for my job, and I have to to find a temporary replacement. I asked by email if they were going to compensate me in any way for messing up the repair twice, a discount or anything for wasting my time? So far...silence. They saved my new Mac Air laptop! I fell asleep, tea in hand and you can imagine the rest. I had no idea where to go, I looked up places in my area and saw they had good reviews. They responded immediately and it was 10pm. I was in the next day at 8:30am, and was able to rent another mac while they fixed mine. They are extremely calm, professional and amazing problem solvers. Mine was complicated, it was a full cup of tea that spilled! Each time, something changed, Navid would check in, explain the complications and the proposed fix, and let me know if there was any additional cost. THEY ARE EXTREMELY FAIR IN COST! My laptop (ASUS ROG G14) started having power issues a few weeks ago. I tried everthing within my skill set but I was not able to figure it out. I want to say a huge thank you to Fred at Computer Palace for recommending I take my iMac back to the apple store for a full diagnostic. After receiving a partial diagnostic the apple store had said my harddrive was failing and I could have one installed at a third party. When I arrived at Computer Palace Fred said it sounded more like a logic board issue. I returned to the apple store to have a full diagnostic, and sure enough, they found an issue with the logic board which is a much bigger problem! So his advice was invaluable. He could have taken my money and done the harddrive replacement but he knew it wouldn't ultimately solve my issue. Cannot recommend this store enough, they truly care about the customer and will give wonderful advice. Go here! read more

I don't know that i can talk about the technical aspects of what they did, not qualified, but i can say that they fixed the problem (computer taken over by malware). He (Fred) determined that the malware couldn't be cleaned, so he backed up or copied the hard drive remotely, totally reset and rebooted the computer, and then reinstalled everything. All programs seem to be there, all documents and other records seem to be there, the only thing not there is the remembered passwords, which he told me up front was going to happen, so no surprise on that. He had this done faster than he said it would be completed, called to keep me advised of status and did it on time and on budget for what he originally quoted. My computer is old, from about 2010 or 2011, we honestly discussed whether it paid to fix it or get a new computer (it paid to fix it) and was honest and didn't try to upsell me at all. He also gave me honest opinion that, for a mac, it wasn't really worth getting a virus scanner, that macs were pretty well protected, that the virus scanners weren't perfect and as long as we were careful about clicking on links, should be ok (this was my wife's computer and i'll bet either a friend sent her an email attachment that was infected or she clicked on the wrong link). i would highly recommend him to others and, if i need more work done on a mac, would return to him. Don't know how he does with hardware repairs (broken screens, etc.) since i didn't need that service, but other reviews said they did a good job there. when i called to make the appointment and ask about this, he was happy to provide free advise over the phone and answer my questions. Went above and beyond what you expect, and my repair bill was only $150 so i wasn't a huge income customer for him, yet never felt anything other than important and top priority. He also honored the Yelp discount so that was something good as well. Saved me a little bit of money. read more
