Very unhappy when I ordered cookies to send to my Fiancé. First the order form said same day delivery, but when the calendar option came up it said next day available. Secondly, the message clearly stated I love you, and they send an Emoji cookie with a smiley face when they had many options to pick from. If I was a cookie decorator I would have thought outside the box to create a different emoji cookie which is listed in what is available. Lastly when I called to ask why they didn't do this I was not well received with my complaint, and was told if I order again and I wanted specifics I should call. Online ordering should have options to pick which emoji but a smart decorated would think what would fit best with the message. Not satisfied at all, and will never use this service again. Especially paying $17.50 to have a hand delivery for same day which arrived the next day. read more

I used to love these cookies so much but over the years, I have seen the quality go down. The cookies taste stale and they have cut way back on their frosting. It barley covers the cookie anymore..such a bummer. Totally not worth the price. The real kicker here is that I answered a survey and was pretty honest on it. I didn't give them the glowing review that they somehow think they deserved. The response I received was a defensive one. I stated that I had done a lot of business with this place, but this time around their cookies tasted a bit stale and the cookie looked much different than the picture. We ended up with 2 different bouquets at my house at the same time and the quality was the same on each - not what I would call a $12.00 cookie. Yep that is pretty much what it costs. I expect to get what I pay for - which is a darn good cookie! Anyway, their reply was, "Oh gee... sorry about your disappointment. BUT other people said our cookies were very good and delicious and they have raved about them blah, blah". My attitude on this is that they can have those people. It is not like I was asking for anything from them. Just giving my honest feedback. If this place is going to ask for feedback, they had better be prepared for the good and the bad and not get defensive about the bad. I think I am done with this company. read more

We were eating lunch at Cafe Lorel and while walking out to our car noticed Cookies by design. My daughter and I have a hard time passing up cookies so we went inside. Yummy. We ordered what they call the millionaire. This cookie was amazing. Chocolate chips, pecan and oats in a yummy cookie. Delicious. We also tried a peanut butter cookie and an white chocolate macadamia cookie. All of them were Delicious and recommenced. We are definite fans now. They also have cookie baskets, cookie bouquets and plenty of gift box ideas and displays. This was so good....part of me wishes that I didn't check it out! I cannot wait to go back! read more

Went to this location this weekend and was very disappointed. First off, I want to say that the girl who helped me was really nice and pleasant. So nothing against her. I went here because years ago I use to work at a Cookies by Design and wanted to relive a bit of my high school days. I went in to just get a basic flat sugar cookie (which to my knowledge every where else is a staple) and they did not offer this. I was really put off by the fact that they had no ready to buy cookies in the front. But the girl assured me they had them in the back. Why would you not put your fresh cookies for the day in the front? It makes your display look really sad. She didn't seem like the owner so this is not on her. I asked for 2 chocolate chips cookies and she rang me up and went to get them from the back. When she handed me the bag I could feel that the cookies were warm. I got in my car, drove about a block and took a bite of the cookie. The outside was warm but the inside was ice cold. Like they had not been made fresh and has just come out of the fridge only to get quickly toasted somehow. It was very unpleasant. Not what I was expecting. I paid $3 for 2 cookies that tasted not gourmet at all. More like a toll house cookie. Definitely not the cookies by design way I remember. I will just make my own cookies from now on. read more

I love these cookies! Not only are they put together in great arrangements but the cookies are yummy! Renee always does a good job in personalizing the arrangements. I love the one she did for our bank - it was decorated with money, dollar signs and bear bankers. Kudos also to Renee for her community involvement. I placed an on-line order for 'hand delivery' - Renee called me to ask if she could ship it overnight. I specifically said it was for a 2 year old's birthday and it would have to be early - like hand delivery would have been. She said it would. Didn't happen - it arrived so late it was past her bedtime. Renee called me to tell me that I should have KNOWN UPS delivers between 8am-8pm. She never told me she'd use UPS - FedEx delivers early. They will do WHAT THEY WANT - WHEN THEY WANT. It doesn't matter if it disappoints a child or a customer - whatever is handy for them. I won't be using them again. read more

I honestly haven't had Cookies By Design in years, not since high school when a classmate broken some in from work. She never did tell me the secret though, booo. I bought a deal off of groupon. I had initially wanted to order it and have it delivered to friend in SD but since they are unable to deliver it down there I decided to keep it for myself. I understand that a deal is a deal but I will they allowed the customer to purchase additional cookie or cookies for the basket. I wanted to add on ONE extra cookie and was willing to pay for any additional cost. However, the lady on the other end said no. Instead she suggested I not use the deal and place a different order. Say what?!?!? Thanks for the lack of customer service. I arrived at the store front or at least what I thought was the front which turned out to be the back. Turn right onto Anaheim St. Do not turn right onto North Greenbrier Road immediately after you turn onto East El Parque Street for this is the back of the store. Go further up just a bit and you will see the main entrance. The store will be on your right, more so towards the corner of the strip mall. TI arrived at the store about 15 minutes before it officially opened. I saw an employee in the front but I did not want to bother yet or seem DESPERATE for my cookies so I waited a bit before heading in. My cookies were packed and ready to go when I arrived. No waiting at all. To confirm my order she pulled the basket out of the bag and showed it to me and that was the end of it. I thanked her and rush to work. The customer service was far better on pick up day than the day I ordered the cookie basket. The color was a bit off but that is expected since it will vary since the coloration was applied by hand. The only thing I did not like was the center of my sunflower. The application of the icing appeared to be rushed but I still ate it. I picked it up on a Friday morning but did not eat them until the following morning with my family. Everyone thought the cookie basket was amazing and they truly do travel well. A two hour car ride did not damage a thing. The sticks are 100% secure in the basket, so secure that it can be difficult to take remove them and not destroy the cookie itself. I personally ate about two okay maybe it was like 2-1/2 or 3. Because I ate so many I did notice a difference in moisture level between the cookies. My first cookie was drier than my second which in normal instances it should be the other way around since the second cookie was consumed first. But no, the first cookie, the leaf was dry but the sunflower with the funky center was moist. My third was the scarecrow, my fav. Super cute and yet so moist days later. read more

Didn't realize that Cookie by Design was still in business until two weeks ago. I was looking to send my husband some cookies at work for next day delivery and Lo and behold, Cookies by Design appeared on my Google results. So I went ahead and ordered a boxed of cookies. Pricing was reasonable but delivery charge was a bit steep but oh well, that's what happens when you wait the last minute. But anyways, cookies were delivered in a timely manner and the delivery guy even called me to let me know that the cookies were delivered. Well I didn't get to taste the cookies but my husband said that they were good. Him and his co-workers enjoyed them. I would definitely order from them again. I am so disappointed. Today, I placed an order to deliver cookies and balloons to my nephew on Saturday, May 5 for his 16th birthday. A few hours later, I received a call that they were unable to make the Saturday delivery. Instead of having them delivered on Friday, I chose to cancel the order. Since I paid via PayPal, Brenda said I had to give her my credit card number over the phone. The problem is that she is writing down the number and not typing it into the computer. I have major issues with my credit card number being written on a piece of paper because of all the fraud and credit card thief going on. She couldn't process the refund. Only her manager could do so, which wouldn't be until tomorrow. This is a very bad business practice!!! If you knew you couldn't make a Saturday delivery, why allow me to place the order in the 1st place. I am never ordering from this location again. Now I have to think of another way to surprise my nephew. I am a truly dissatisfied customer. As a look the other reviews, I should never have ordered from here in the 1st place. read more

Worst customer service ever. I requested a specific day for delivery, which was not met. I called and asked why they didn't leave the package at the delivery location as requested and their response was. "It's within the drivers discretion." I'm the paying customer, it should be within mine. Then several emails back and forth with a customer service rep. who was unapologetic and told me that they delivered the package and refuse to refund me. They did not deliver the package, they left it at a ups store and expect the customer to go pick it up. Why pay for delivery if I have to go pick it up? I could just go pick up cookies from a grocery store at that point. Congratulations to the management at Cookies by Design for having the worst customer service team I've ever encountered. read more

Christina did a phenomenal job with the special Confetti & Candles basket of 2 dozen cookies I ordered for my husband to surprise him for his birthday.  I had barely placed the order a couple of days before they were to be delivered and Cookies by Design came through with flying colors!  The day before the delivery was to be made, I spoke to Christina to request that the delivery be made before noon time, and she agreed to schedule it with the delivery guy accordingly, and the timing was perfect since my husband's colleagues were all already gathered in the break room for their holiday potluck.  Everyone absolutely LOVED the cookies, and the 2 decorated Happy Birthday message cookies were so festive and absolutely adorable (just as shown on their website).  Needless to say, my husband was very pleasantly surprised, and his colleagues got to celebrate his special day with him.  I ordered two dozen of assorted cookies with nuts, but everyone's favorite was the double chocolate/chocolate chip one.  No one could get enough of those, so my husband will definitely be venturing over to your bakery across the street from his office to pick up more soon; yum yum.  He better, 'cause I did not even get to sample that one; LOL.  I will definitely order from you again.  Thank you for a job well done!  :) read more

I just got a couple of 16 inch cookie cakes and a cookie basket....and they look INCREDIBLE!!!! Thank you, Rene! :) This was my 1st time here (since it is so far from where I live, however... I WILL BE BACK!!! ;-) Rene and staff are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and each time I called... it must of been about 4 times-for this one order, LOL ;) They were SO SWEET, INFORMATIVE and GREAT in EVERY WAY! Which is wonderful - being that I usually HATE talking on the phone! ;P Especially in these types of situations... However, I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED at how WONDERFUL the staff was and I believe I spoke to 3 or 4 different ladies and they all were so sweet that for that alone I would drive the distance.... I have to keep it real, I have used this place several times, including for my wedding. The cookies can be over-priced, the place is hard to find, the hours are limited and they don't always turn out exactly as you would want them to. I imagine they can't spend as much time on each cookie, so they look slightly imperfect. However the cookies are so delicious and addicting, I love sweet treats, and these cookies definitely meet that criteria. They are thick, sugary decadence, they stay fresh for days and days, and oh my your belly will hurt because you can't stop eating them. This is why I keep coming back! There are plenty of other places that make beautiful dainty cookies, but when you are giving cookies as gifts or serving them at a party the thing that makes the most impact is how they taste, and Cookies By Design cookies are absolutely memorable for all the right reasons! What a frustrating disappointment. I have tasted items before from them and they are good. But I ordered on line for same day delivery. It said order by noon to get same day then when I looked later, it said order by 11:00am. It doesn't matter. I ordered by 11am. I get a message over an hour later and when I call back I'm told I was too late. they offered next day with extra cookies. NOT acceptable. They said website may have messed up delivery to them. This is not my problem. Don't advertise what you can't do. I was told they could give me a full refund. Absolutely a full refund!! I got nothing from grief from them. I've asked for a manager to call me but so far nothing. Will not recommend due to poor customer service and no satisfaction. read more

They have really tasty cookies & darling designs, but the best part is that they work so eloquently and friendly with you - even if you have a difficult special request. I won't use another cookie store again. Oh! And they go out of their way to make your order on time, and will even hand deliver it to it's destination so it won't be late (there's an extra fee for that though, but worth every single penny).
