It was my first time at the Copper River Grill and it will probably be my last. While our server was spot on with brining a new drink when one was empty he never asked about the food, or maybe he knew. I ordered the house salad with a shrimp adder. I chose the house salad over one of the others because on the menu it said it came with field greens but when it came out I was only iceberg. My wife ordered the smoked wings and she said they were dry and tasteless. And fries that came with my daughters food were definitely frozen previously. There are way too many really good places in Greenville to suffer mediocrity here. read more

Never asked if it was right or anything was needed. I got a burger and it had no condiments on it. I waited for it waitress to come by to ask for some. I finally had to go get someone to find her. By the time I could start, others were finishing. The waitress never came by again until she asked if we were ready did the check. We had just moved to Greenville and thought we would try this restaurant since it was close to were we lived and we didn't know the area. My sister was also with us and she owns a fine dining restaurant in N. Carolina. We tried asking the server about certain foods from the menu and she would tell us to not order it because it's soggy and mushy, or that it's runny and everyone is sending it back. The servers attitude was so bad and just not supportive of the restaurant she works for. When our food finally arrived it wasn't very good and it was cold. The food was below average. They brought the appetizer out with our meal. My ribeye was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle and had about 6oz of fat on it. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is the salad was really good and our waitress was VERY attentive and was embarrassed how terrible our food came out. Went here a couple of months ago and forgot to write a review. The only thing I remember being especially good is the ambiance and lighting, but the food was dreadful. I ordered the blackened chicken alfredo and my fiancee got a pizza with banana peppers. My pasta was very greasy but also undercooked. The chicken had a strange metallic taste to it. It was alright aside from that, but personally I found it a bit overpriced for the quality and quantity. My fiancee's pizza was unfortunately more disappointing. Her pizza was undercooked and raw/doughy in the center, and her banana peppers were from a jar - which completely saturated the entire pizza in banana pepper liquid and overpowered the pizza to the point of being inedible. She's a pizza chef herself, having worked at a pizzeria for 5+ years, so I trust her criticism. Overall I think the food is just kind of not great for the price. read more

Came in Wednesday night about 9:15 as we had just arrive to town. It was a party of 4. We were seated quickly and it took a bit to get a waiter. Im going to assume this is because he was the only one we saw doing any real work. Most of the girls were carrying on conversations (most completely inappropriate for customers to hear). When Chase H. came to our table he was so nice, and prompt. Unfortunately when the dip we ordered arrived it was cold, Chase apologized and removed it from our bill at our request. We really wanted to like this place and gave it two visit. On the plus side good location. The beet salad was OK We tried five different dishes two were sent back for being improperly prepared. My main issue is that the menu description does not match the items coming out of the kitchen. Good for beers outdoor for happy hour but not much else. The only thing good was the croissant. Waited forever for iced tea and water. Even longer for my husband's beer. There were very few people in the restaurant. I sent my steak back twice...waaaay too salty. They took away my side because it was cold. By that time I wasn't hungry any more. The waiter brought a tea refill. It was supposed to be unsweet but was sweet. They still charged me for my dinner. We asked to have it taken off, which they did. I went to the restroom before leaving and it was filthy. Let's start with sparkles. The hostess with the leastess... expect a barely audible growl from sparkles when you enter. Let her know you placed an order to go and you will get a barley mumbled "talk to that girl" with even less effort put into what sure was an attempt to point. Then sparkles is done with you and will acknowledge your existence no more. Then when you find "that girl" you will be ducked and avoided for 10 mins by her giving you time to watch sparkles and her quest to win the world record for worst hostess ever. She snarls at each new guest as they come through the door and rolls her eyes anytime a ask comes from any of them. All while diligently checking her phone every 2 minutes. About 59 minutes after you place your order and 15 other orders have gone out the door the ever mysterious "that girl" will ask your name again, then immediately bring your order as if it's been there all along. Grab your food an head back to your hotel in frustration. And save room for dessert because you've got one more surprise coming your way when you unpack the food! No plastic ware, even though the website specifically asked you if you needed it! And remember those special instructions? You can count on those being ignored like you were caught in the rolled eyes gaze of hostess sparkles looking for a table to eat. Go hungry! Too much food. My wife and I order 1 app, and entrees and shouldn't have ordered the second entree.

So I had a chance to try the food here twice and once again-unimaginitive but decent and the prices aren't bad to boot. The reason for just 2 stars? This isn't a relaxing place to dine. We had a seat next to the kitchen. There and in the dining area waiters are frenetically moving everywhere and responding to the annoying yet constant verbal call outs from the kitchen for 'runners'. On the evening I visited, it seems the place ran out of knives and forks followed by an audible call-out for the waiters to roll more . Everything feels rushed. If this place were a diner or fast food joint this chaotic environment would be more acceptable. My advice: get a seat far away from the kitchen and go during off hours. Oh yeah, the menu here is 98% the same as at J Peters in Anderson SC. I'm not sure who claims fame for the menu but after eating at J Peters, I can say the portions are much bigger than Copper River Grill. read more

Made reservations for the family on a Sunday afternoon. Our party was six. When we arrived (5 mins early) the restaurant was nearly empty but we had to wait for our table to be set up in order to accommodate us. I thought reservations were made so your table would be ready when you arrived! Apparently not here. Once seated we were greeted by a friendly server/waiter. He gave us our menu, introduced himself, answered our questions and gave us time to make our selections. He was pleasant & helpful through out our dinner. Lots to choose from on this menu so it took us several minutes to decide. In the meantime our waiter took our drink order. Three of us ordered Specialty Drinks. Although they tasted OK. The drinks were only a few degrees above room temperature and you could barely taste any alcohol. All three of us added ICE to our drinks. When it came time for a 2nd round. I ordered a draft beer while my daughter passed & my wife switched to soda . A glass of White Zinfandel also came to the table @ room temperature. Wht Zin should be served chilled. We ordered two Pizza's as appetizers. They were about 10 in pies. One with just Cheese and a second with Sausage and Mushrooms. Both were very good. Better than many of the local Pizza places in and around Greenville. Our dinners consisted of Chicken Wings Described as OK. A Cheese Burger, also OK Chicken fingers. I was told were Very good but not as good as Chick Filet. A BigFoot Mother in Law burger described as Excellent. Mac & Cheese with Fried Shrimp, again OK. Mushy pasta. A 14 oz ( I opted for the extra 2 oz @ $1.00 extra per oz) Prime Rib that was cooked perfectly to order. Unfortunately it didnt live up to the $20.00 Plus price tag. It was good, but not $20.00 plus good. The french fries were nothing special. In fact they were a bit dry and overcooked. The Fried Red Onion rings were good but a bit greasy. You have to expect that from fried food. Oh nearly forgot. The house salads were VG and the Caesar Salads were Good but generic. The portions were large and we wound up taking a good amount of food home which the kids finished later that evening. We passed on Desert. Everyone was full. All in all we had a nice dinner. The drinks could have been colder, the Prime Rib a bit better and the Mac & Cheese less mushy, but there were enough positives and plenty of food to keep most diners happy. Had our table been ready, the prime rib more tender, & our drinks chilled, I would add a 1/2 star. read more

This place was awful. I went there with my parents, sister, brother in law and their three kids. Yes we were a large family group with kids but you're a restaurant - deal with. From the beginning the server was just rude and disrespectful. I asked for waters for everyone (it was 90 degrees out that day and we had just come from the playground) and after I asked him twice, he then asked the entire table if they wanted waters as if to disagree with the fact that I just asked him all for water and they may not want it (or he may not want to carry 8 glasses of water) so no he didn't bring any water and it wasn't until during our meals that when my mother asked for the 3rd time for a water for me did he finally bring it. My baked potato soup was disgusting - And I told him he could take it away because it tasted awful - and he said he would take it off the bill - and my cheeseburger was more like a meatloaf that fell apart than a burger. The server brought the manager over bc obviously by the end of the meal he knew we were not the happiest and I told her what I said above and to please not add ice to my nieces's chocolate milk as we did not ask for that. My father said this was our first time here and will most likely be our last. The manager gave me a refund on the burger and soup - so that's great - but honestly folks - go to a steakhouse or a damn chain restaurant - anything better than this place. read more

Prime Rib "Voo-Doo!" In town for work and was recommended to eat here. Was told it wasn't anything special but it was reliably good food. Looked through the menu and things looked good, other tables had plates that look pretty good as well. Decided to order the Prime Rib "Voo-Doo". Came perfectly cooked and seared with Cajun seasoning. Topped with crab stuffed shrimp and some sort of sauce. Holy crap, I eat steaks frequently all over the country and this steak was definitely up in the top couple. The best thing I can say is that the menu was accurate in its description. The overall experience was good- the waiter did forget a few things like ketchup and a extra glass of ice but I'm in the business also so I totally understand that happening but when we asked again we got them quickly and he was a super nice waiter! We love copper River Grill. The hamburgers are so huge you can split it with three people and everybody will be full. Their salads are awesome and they're sweet rolls are amazing.
