Super cute restaurant in downtown Martinez with authentic diner vibes. We came on a Saturday morning for brunch with no reservation and were seated in less than 20 minutes. The menu is pretty standard, but the specials posted on the wall are anything but! The biscuits and gravy were incredible, and our friend got a waffle sandwich that he said was great - it was massive so more of a fork and knife sandwich than one you can pick up with your hands. My husband got a Bloody Mary with basically everything possible in it, including bacon. He gave that 5 stars. Notably there are basically no vegan options other than hash browns, which our vegan friend didn't realize until we got there. Just a warning in case anyone you'd like to go with is vegan. I believe this is the best breakfast diner in Downtown/MainSt. Martinez. Their specials on the chalkboard always sound mouthwatering. I've ordered their nachos- super loaded and yummy, I request no jalapeños. My kids are always satisfied with different items from the kids' menus. Food comes hot in your table pretty quickly. We were able to go to a late breakfast on Father's day for a party of 6 with only a 25 minute wait. Service was still amazingly prompt, efficient and friendly. Our server has been with copper skillet i believe she said over 20 years. The food came out fast and hot. It was all so delicious and amazing portion sizes. Wish I could review the food but we didn't even get seated. My husband, toddler and I were waiting to be seated and we saw about 6 parties who came AFTER us, be seated before us. They came out and checked up on other party's, but not us. That's when I asked if we were still on the list? "Your table is being cleaned" they proceeded to sit another party of 3 who came after us, at the table that supposedly was being cleaned for us. That's when we decided to leave. The menu has a good mix of breakfast and lunch options. I chose to have lunch and ordered the mushroom burger. The burger was great! You can tell that the meat was fresh and not frozen. The onion rings were also excellent! Crispy on the outside and served with a chipotle mayo. You can also get ranch if you prefer. My wife had an omelette which was also great. Been coming here for since 2006. Always my 2nd fav next to Giant Chef burger in p hill. Always loved Jack and his energy and the OG servers. Welp this day has come that i got rejected when asking to replace spinach for cheese for my omelette lol. I thought the server was joking but she wasn't. I headed downtown to Copper Skillet Courtyard, where I had the delicious 1/2 French Toast breakfast with sausage and bacon, served with terrific service! They have an expansive breakfast and lunch menu and a large board of specials. We waited outside with other people and one by one each group was getting called except for us. It was well past the 30 min mark. One large group was called ahead of us and I'm pretty sure we arrived before they did. I don't mind waiting during busy times, but don't give an estimation of 30 min when it's more like 45min-1 hour. They were also repeatedly calling names that were a no-show. Why not serve the people that are actually there waiting? We have been meaning to visit this place for a while now. We are so glad that we finally made the trip! The wait wasn't too bad, we got here around 10am on Sunday morning and waited about 15 for a table for 2. The waitress greeted us immediately with water, and we placed our order within 5 minutes of sitting down. We got the tots, breakfast burrito, and the breakfast skillet. All of the food was delicious, seasoned well, and fresh off the stove. It was a decent amount of food, and we ended up taking it home with us cause we couldn't finish all of it. This seems to always be a staple when visiting family in Martinez.... And I'm not mad about it. We came on a Saturday morning and it took about 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered and they came around with coffee to re-fill every 10 minutes or so. She let us know that it would be a little bit of a wait for our food which is no big deal when you're in such a clean and hospitable place. They have a huge white board with specials on the wall from fish and chips to fun pancake flavors. The staff is warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is small town friendly. The portions for the price are actually robbery. & in the customers favor. This was less than $40. I had more than half my sandwich and tots to take home for later. I'm a super big fan of their ranch and the pancakes were fluffy and warm.
