The only thing is that this list has relatively few affordable wine options. That being said, the chinon was excellent and paired well with the various dishes. Delightful food with A+ ambience. One star off for how extremely loud it was inside as well as the slow service. Food: Format is to get a bunch of dishes and share across the table. We got the duck confit flatbread, lobster croquettes, wild boar sticky ribs, lamb meatballs, spinach dumplings. All 10/10 but the duck confit flatbread and spinach dumplings stood out. The spinach dumplings had this spicy pesto vodka sauce combo that was scrumptious. There's not a ton of food but the lobster croquettes were even more tiny than expected - just a heads up. Dessert: We got the orange ricotta cheesecake and the cafe bizcocho. I would choose the cafe bizcocho (an espresso-y chocolate delight) over the cheesecake, but again both were great. We did notice that the size of our cafe bizcocho was much smaller than the one the table next to ours got. We told them it was a celebratory occasion and they put candles on our desserts which was a nice touch. Tips: - Make a reservation! We booked two weeks in advance and the earliest time we could get was 8:30pm on Fri night. The place is very popular and packed! - Parking options are street parking or validated parking ($15; must park at least 3 hours) or valet. Ambiance - Very surprised as it is a great, great space. Fine attention to detail but the booths are a bit strange unless you're on a double / triple date. Food - Definitely above average, fine attention to detail especially if you like multiple small plates. Wine pours are a bit on the light side and combined with $4 oysters it appears they could use a bit of price elasticity training. Service - Maybe the most bizarre aspect of the place. Without fail the assorted servers would come to the table and interrupt any conversation that was occurring at the table. Once would be a mistake, twice would be a fail, but EVERYTIME without fail they would talk over the conversation that the guests were having without as much as one 'excuse me.' And even when we attempted to finish a sentence between us guests the server would just continue to interrupt and keep talking. Had a tough timing deciding how to rank this restaurant - the restaurant is stunning, the cocktails are lovely and the food is tasty, but it's wildly over priced for what you're getting. I went here for a girl's night out, and while I would recommend it for that experience (the place is practically built to be an instagram backdrop) you can find better food with better prices and portion sizes at many of Boston's top restaurants. With a group I got to try a number of things including the Oysters, shrimp cocktail ($18 for 2 shrimp - oof), Borek spring rolls and several of the flatbreads. While everything tasted good and was beautifully presented, the flatbreads were the favorite because they were the most substantial. We ended up ordering only flatbreads for the second round of food because with 5 people to feed, that was the only way we were walking out of this place full. I will say the gin and tonics were a highlight, several fun floral options to choose from and it doesn't hurt that the glasses were as big as my face. To sum it up, if you're looking to impress this is a good spot, but other local spots like Mariel or Citrus and Salt would provide the same (or better) quality of food and ambiance with more bang for your buck. read more

We enjoyed Coquette for a celebration dinner. This new spot can be hard to book, and was quite busy for our Saturday dinner. The restaurant is divided into several dining areas with a stunning main dining room and a more subdued looking bar area, with a bustling lively crowd. Noise level is high, but we did not find it a bother. While I have no complaints about the food, I did expect a bit more polished service from the staff. We had a personable and friendly waiter, but he did forget one item that we ordered. Initially food came from the kitchen at a breakneck pace and I was concerned that we would be finished in 20 minutes, but things leveled out to a better pace. I suspect most people come here and treat the menu "tapas" style. You may want to pace your food order accordingly. The menu itself is interesting, all the plates are on the smallish side, but we found 3-4 plates for 2 people to be sufficient for our appetite, and left us comfortable for dessert. I suspect the menu to be a challenge for some, but we enjoy interesting menus. Oddly, there were very little in the way of greens or vegetables, a serious shortcoming on the menu. We started with some crispy and delicious spring rolls and a "Ham and chips", which was an unusual presentation of in house made potato chips, ham and covered with cheese. Cocktails were very tasty and beautiful, pricey but not very strong. I think it will take a little time to see how this restaurant and menu evolves. read more

Food was just AMAZING! We ordered different items from the Small Plate section of the menu. I highly recommend the Butternut Squash Carpaccio w/Buratta. The Lamb Meatballs were so full of flavor. Lobster Rigatoni was PERFECT, al dente pasta with a piece of lobster in EVERY bite! And don't pass on the bread - Focaccia w/Cacio e Pepe butter was EXCELLENT. Service was on point. I didn't get to eat because the bartenders kept walking by me. First, a bartender didn't know it was dinner service yet (it was 27 minutes after the kitchen opened) and didn't give me a menu. Having been open for only 2 weeks, I was quite impressed at the service and quality of the food. Located at the Omni hotel, across from the boston convention center. They appear to function as they they've been open for years. We were able to walk in and get seated at a high top table around the bar. The atmosphere was very lively. The bar is beautiful as is the European-esque decor with a modern twist. Our waitress was the absolute best. She was attentive and very friendly. The food was great. We loved every single dish we had - Duck chichons, a whipped duck confit on toast with a sweet pequillo pepper jelly on top, comes with 2 pieces - Merda de Can: the spinach dumplings which are very similar to gnocchi but lighter. The tomato brown butter and the creme was devine along with the topped hazelnuts - Pyrenees mushroom flatbread- absolutely delicious, dough was cooked well - Seared squid - A generous portion size of squid with a couple pieces of fried squid on top which was the best fried squid I've ever had - Lamb meatballs - very tender, a bit sweeter for my liking - Dessert: I wish I remembered the name of the of it, but it's the one that has the dulce de leche. Definitely something you can't get anywhere else. It's essentially a layered cake with dulce de leche cake crust on the bottom, with this mousse topping, and caramel sauce. Also topped with melt in your mouth chocolate pieces The drinks were good, but not very heavy on the liquor. We tried the gin and tonics, which was served in a large glass but don't be fooled as it was bit watered down. The biarritz, a more classic take on a gin and tonic. The, basque, has a more subtle aromatic taste due to the rosemary. I loved the Agnes Souret, a different take on a margarita, but better! We loved the espresso martini even more! It tasted like a legit martini with real espresso and cognac, with none of the creamers. Definitely recommend if you are a fan of cognac. I went to Coquette to celebrate a friend's Birthday celebration, we were a group of 12 including me. Let me highlight the positive of this establishment: The restaurant boasts a beautiful and spacious ambiance. If you're in the mood for a "night club" feel with very loud music and an array of drinks from which to choose, then this might do. Otherwise, the food is French only in name and pretentiousness. My friends ordered the french fries, which were super salty: I grabbed a few and all I could taste was the salt. My husband and I ordered the "tarte flambé, the duck confit and the wild mushroom "tarte flambé. When the appetizers arrived, everyone received theirs, except of course, my husband and me. Meanwhile, I had a taste of someone else's duck confit tarte flambé, and it wasn't good at all. The crust was mediocre, the duck meat was of subpar quality, and the so called gruyère cheese tasted more like a strong blue cheese than gruyère. So I dared asked our server (a Woman with a very bad attitude) where our appetizers were. I inquired: "Where is the tarte flambé that we ordered? " She responded, "What"? I repeated myself once again, to which she replied with a very insolent attitude: You mean, the flatbread, It's called "confit"! No, Server with an impudent stance, it's called "Tarte Flambé, as indicated on your menu. If you wanted that appellation, then it should have been written on the menu as "Flatbread and not "Tarte Flambé". Her tone of voice was rude and uncalled for. I was just trying to make sure that we were not forgotten. Also, I have included a picture of the menu that clearly reads - "Tarte Flambé" , and not flatbread. I also included a picture of myself at the restaurant. This server was very vociferous and rude, and she humiliated me in front of the other guests that were invited to this Birthday dinner celebration. She attempted to school me, someone who has lived in France, about a simple food, the "tarte flambé", that I first had in the region of France where it originated, Alsace. Regardless of my knowledge, she should not have been rude and impudent. Needless to say, I lost my appetite and didn't bother to eat anything. When, this server brought the sliced cake after we sang "Happy Birthday", even my portion was messed up while everyone else's was neat and esthetically pleasing. I didn't eat the slice of cake either. I could see from the get-go of this evening, that this server (No name, but she's Greek and had glasses) didn't care for me. She made sure to ruin the whole experience for me. At the on-start, she kept leaning on my chair and pushing me into the table, instead of turning to the side to give everyone their drinks. We did bar seating, and they were definitely under staffed on a Sunday at 3pm when it should otherwise be pretty quiet. I got Agnes Souret, which was pretty light and refreshing. It is hard to imagine a better restaurant experience for the price than Coquette. The space is exquisite, large, and humming with dozens of excited conversations of diners surrounding you. There is Buddha bar disco but not too loud. There are "hors doevres" and "small plates" going for $16 but they are large enough to be entrees and they are all equally delicious. Coquette would be the perfect Boston restaurant if it were not exiled across the street from the convention center in the seaport. The pace of development in the area may soon render the restaurant as the center of the universe, though not yet. The specs: Two of us shared the following-- Mussels piquante ($16): mussels removed from their shells, then placed back into the half shell and bathed in a diabolical sauce of pepper aioli and butter. The entire dish topped with thin French fries. If this sounds good, it was that and more. Charred green beans ($16): With horseradish and a hazelnut vinaigrette (served hot). No green bean was ever less plain. Merda de can ($16): My favorite, these "spinach dumplings" were more like fried green gnocchi, bathed in an unimaginable Roquefort cream and butter concoction with crunchy hazelnut bits. Seared squid ($17): fried and served with chick peas and a complex sauce of chili garlic oil, eggplant purée, and smoked almonds. Wine: Bottle of Nuit D'Ivresse, a Cabernet Franc ($78). Solid and aromatic. Dessert: Cafe Bizcocho ($14), a thin layer of sponge cake topped with espresso cream and surrounded by fortifications of dark chocolate crinkles Bill was about $200 with tip, one of the better values we've seen at a fine restaurant. Had we ordered only three plates and no wine, we would have left completely full and paid about $60 with tip. We may do that next time to more affordably experience Coquette's charms. read more

Super unimpressed with the service here. The front desk of the Omni Hotel and Coquette's reception was good, which is why I'm not ranking lower. Yet we were directed to the bar only essentially to be ignored by the bartender and bar back and eventually told by the bartender that she was "busy" when we were trying to order before the kitchen closed and she'd kept us waiting for a very extended time. The front desk directed us to her section instead of having us be seated regularly for better, faster service. Nope! Dined here last night, food and atmosphere were great until my friend ended up having an ALLERGIC REACTION. At the beginning of the night we had specified a sesame allergy and the waiter confirmed any dish could be made sesame-free. Great, right? By the end of the meal my friend was visibly struggling, face red, eyes watering and we realized that something must have had sesame in it. She left to go take her meds and luckily she was okay. A friend and I stayed back to talk to the waiter. After alerting him that there was an allergic reaction it took three back and forths with him before he sent the manager over (she ended up coming over 20+ minutes after we alerted staff to the allergic reaction). I cannot understand how a manger finds out that a guest had a medical emergency due to the food and still took over 20 minutes to come over to the table. We were expecting apologies and well wishes, instead the manager doubled down that the food did not have sesame. Her "evidence" was the ticket from the kitchen that said "sesame allergy" as if it's impossible for tickets to get misread or plates to get delivered to the wrong table. She implied our friend was making it up. Unacceptable. Will not be returning. read more

Coquette provides an amazing experience and phenomenal vibes. Located in the great Omni Seaport Hotel, which has other quality options within the hotel, as well as near. Coquette has great service, a quality cocktail selection, and the food is great. I would go back any time, as well as take people visiting Boston here. I had a Hennessey Expresso Martini, which I have never knew was even a thing. It tasted delicious. In addition, I had a tasty mezcal drink. Poor service reflects owners who don't pay their workers enough. I came here with a friend recently, and everything was fine until we tipped 15%. We are both international students who are not very familiar with the US tipping culture so we were taken aback by this experience. Our waitress stopped before picking up the bill and asked us if we had made a mistake. We told her there was no mistake, and she grumbled and complained we should tip 20%. Our meal was not that expensive, so we were very confused and ignored her. When she returned the credit card, she just dropped it on the table and walked away. I'm not mad with her, I'm more mad with the owners who clearly pay their workers garbage! You'd expect better from a classy place. McDonald's employees don't complain when I don't tip, and they're cooking, cleaning, and working the register! It's clear the owners take a majority of profits and pay their servers nothing, because I've never had a server demand a larger tip before, and it seems other reviews have said the same. A beautiful restaurant, but poor service. I checked into my hotel from a long journey from Martha's Vineyard at around 4pm. I went down to the restaurant that did not appear full around 6pm. I was told that because I didn't have a reservation, I would have to sit a the bar. Fine. I sit in the middle seat at the bar so I can have a nice view of the restaurant. Two waiters were talking to each other directly in front of me. As soon as I sit down, the female waitress with tattoos gives me a nasty look as if I were intruding in on her conversation. I had never spoken a word. Eventually, she comes up to me and slides me a menu. Never greeted me. She continued to be cold and stale the entire time. Finally, after so long of me waiting for her to bring the check, I was told by another waitress that she would continue to help me with the bill because the other waitress had left or something. She never communicated with me. I would never dine there again with this kind of service. when I dine places I expect warm and hospitable service. This was my first time at Coquette and I thought both the ambiance, service, and the food were exquisite!! The interior is filled with pastel murals and paintings, floral arrangements, Murano glass chandeliers and Lladro porcelain lamps, so easily relocating you from Boston to France for the evening. For dinner our table shared the crispy monkfish, duck chichons, Pyrenees mushroom flatbread, mussels picante, lamb meatballs, and lobster croquettes. I can't even pick a favorite because I loved them all equally. All the dishes were fresh, with unique flavors and individual sauces; all made to share (tapas style). For dessert we ordered the cafe bizcocho, a vanilla sponge cake with espresso triple cream, dolce du leche, cocoa crinkle, and hazelnuts. The dessert was amazing, just the right amount of sweetness; easy to see why it's their most popular dessert! Saw this place on tiktok and the Vibe caught my attention. So I decided to try it for myself to see. The place was really big and spacious. I really liked the middle center piece near the bar it was cute. The music was WAYYYYY too loud. I felt like I was at a club, I couldn't even hear my partner talk to me and he was sitting right next to me. It weirdly got louder at night after they dimmed the place as well.....ya don't turn up the music please next time. The food however, was DELICIOUS. The truffle pizza was very yummy and so was their spring roll. My favorite was their dessert! OMG you HAVE to try it. Drinks was so so and our waiter was pretty nice. Been wanting to try this restaurant everyone was raving about, glad I did! The lights are very dim giving it a nice cocktail vibe. It was loud inside, you couldn't really hear one another but I personally love that type of setting so if you don't, consider coming on a weekday. We shared basically everything from oysters, mussels picante, wild boar sticky ribs, tuna au poivre and the lobster croquette. I didn't get a picture of all of them but everything was pretty tasty. My favorite had to be the mussels and lobster croquettes! I can't say much about drinks I typically stick to cosmos and espresso martinis but those were good! 4 star and not 5 because the hostess area needs clearer instructions on valet. We tried to retrieve our car and the hostess and others working the front told us to walk to another building connected to the restaurant and ask front desk to get our car.
