Neat spot! Has decent amount of seating for a quick study session. Parking is street parking so just a heads up. It is also close to a lot of restaurants, so this is a nice pitstop to hang out. I had a hot Americano. Coffee was strong and flavorful. Great, classic mug. I had the cinnamon roll. I prefer a crispier cinnamon roll, but my partner likes the doughier ones, so I don't think it's a quality issue, just preference. They really liked it. Wonderful icing on top. Substantial enough to have by itself. The ambiance was quiet and solid. Great place to get away from a hectic week and recharge. It was meh... I actually came to visit (~ 3 weeks ago) after I saw the reviews raving about them here. I came on a Sunday and they were closed despite yelp and google listing their them as open. I also tried to check their website before heading over to confirm hours, but it was not active. (I ended up needing to submit an update to the hours on yelp). When I finally did visit them recently, despite their menu listing the matcha ube in store, they said it was not available. (lol it was the only drink I came there for). I decided that since I've been waiting so long to try Cora, I would just get another drink. I ended up with the strawberry matcha which was just ok. It wasn't anything special especially given its high price point. The strawberry part was good but the matcha was really weak and bland. It basically tasted like strawberry milk. I really wanted to like it, but the whole experience between incorrect hours, non functional website, and the unavailable drink (despite having an already super small menu), was too much for me to enjoy the experience. I will say, the employees were really really nice and the shop itself is really cute with lots of places to sit. read more

Belated review for an awesome coffee spot! I came in during Memorial Day after checking online to make sure that they were under open. My order was an oat milk white mocha and their Cora Cookie Royale (chocolate chip). The cookie was huge!! However, it was a rich, warm chocolate chip cookie. Cookies can be breakfast sometimes right?! My coffee was very creamy for a white mocha and I had almost doubted that they used oat milk because it was THAT creamy delicious. The space is very open and there are plenty of seats to go around. I sat near the window and was able to enjoy the morning reading a book and finishing a couple of chapters. There were others who came in on that day that also decided to sit, read, and enjoy their morning coffee. There is also a mini garden of plants that more or less serve as a divider and decor. They also serve teas if coffee isn't your jam and pastries! Staff was also very nice! As a bonus, they are now open on weekends! Stopped by for a coffee to go since I was in the area. There's only street parking near by but that's normal for downtown. The coffee shop is on the first floor and it's very spacious, clean, and staff is welcoming. I got the seasonal pumpkin spice latte (psl) but it's wasnt anything amazing, just typical. It looks like they only have one sized to-go cups and they can be a bit pricey compared to other coffee shops. I also got a carrot walnut muffin that was the highlight of my trip here. You walk in from J Street and you'll find the counter right in the middle with the menu posted above. There's a small case on the counter with pastries. Order and pay at the register. You can order your drink to have there or to-go. Pick up at the right end of the counter. There's ample seating. I like that you can read local zines off their shelf. I think it's a modern type of ambience, minimalistic.. and the front wall is all window and that's nice for the natural light and people watching. I've never seen it busy. You know, you can go to The Mill or Temple and it can have every table occupied with people on their computers or hanging out. But then again, I don't know the wi-fi situation here. I like the space. I like not busy. It's standard coffee shop offerings.. I would like it more if there was vegan pastries available. Waited 20 minutes for a cortado while other much more time intensive drinks that were ordered after came out. Barista seemed more interested in getting the music working than making drinks for the considerable number of people waiting. And the coffee has basically no flavor, if that's how a cortado tastes, I don't know how it has any flavor in a frou frou drink. I also have never paid $6 for a cortado. I have frequently business trips for which I often stay at the Sheraton Grand, across the street, so I have been to Cora Coffee a dozen times or more in the past few years. I'm happy to report that their espresso-based drinks have remained very consistent and very good across the years, which, with staff turnaround, is quite a feat in itself. The service has always been friendly and prompt, though at times, there will be a single employee working as the cashier and the barista, so during the morning rush, it can take a little time to get your drinks. In the past they also had croissants and other pastries available for sale, as well as some hot food items. It is super convenient to be able to grab your morning coffee and a quick bite at the same time. Unfortunately, in recent months, they've only been offering cookies and bagels. I don't know about you all, but a chocolate chip cookie is just not what I want to eat for breakfast (though, they did look quite delicious!). The bagels often aren't in when the shop opens (~7am) so I've never seen or or had an opportunity to try them. read more

My husband and I are in the midst of doing a coffee shop tour of Sacramento and decided today to give Cora Coffee a try (Sat. 03/01/2025). Came in around noon after finding some street parking. Shop wasn't too crowded. We were able to order right away, served only after a few minutes, and found a nice seat next to the windows. The shop though, has a cold feeling - maybe some comfy couches and/or chairs? The service was nice, with the barista being very friendly and efficient. A plus for me, as a diabetic, was the sugar-free vanilla syrup. Some other local shops sadly don't have sugar-free options. It would be nice if they had other flavors, though. My husband was happy with the ability to get raw sugar, which is his preference. Unfortunately, we didn't really like the coffee itself, finding it sour tasting. And the cost was a bit pricey ($6 for each drink - a regular drip coffee and an ice coffee). It was an okay experience. Might go back if we're in the area again, but Sacramento has a lot of other coffee shops to choose from. read more

I came out of Yelp review writing retirement because I am craving one of their savory scones so hard! I live in the bay and I literally might need to drive up ASAP or beg local friends to bring a few when they visit. I had a ham and cheese scone and it was moist and salty- everything you could ever want in a savory scone.
