Absolutely no customer service. No visible sign of any kind of store management. Restaurant is out of important breakfast staples like potatoes week after week and when asked why you are given the answer of....I don't know it's not my job. I ordered a panini for dine in and was given the sandwich in a small to go box. The sandwich contents had spilled out of the bread because it was stuffed in a small to go box. It's just not acceptable. I understand businesses are short handed right now but there still needs to be a standard especially when paying these prices. read more

I'm not a big fan of greens, but the salads here make me go green-crazy. I especially like the Santa Fe Ranch salad, yumyumyum. They also come in big portions so it's perfect if you want to split a salad and a sandwich with a friend- or you can get any of their soup/salad/sandwich combos. Another fave is the chicken pomodori grilled panini. The melted provolone cheese on chicken, spinach, and pesto is perfection. The ambiance here is nice too. Seating area is spacious, and everything looks very clean. The menu is easy to read with a variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches, and there's a good selection of desserts. So if you ever need a break from all the fatty foods you may be eating, come here. read more

Ive been trying different places around me for breakfast so I decided to give this café a shot. I ordered the Anaheim Panini, a muffin, and an ice tea. The ice tea was great and so was the muffin. I waited for my Panini for 15 minutes which was a little annoying but I understand they're busy so I didn't say anything. I grabbed my Panini and left to head to work. When I opened the container to eat it on the way to work I found the sandwich was so small it was alarming. It looked like it was on a small Crostini not sliced sourdough. But OK whatever I still eat the sandwich, I'm hungry. The item I asked not to be in a sandwich, was not taken out, which was annoying, but whatever. But then the main item of the sandwich, being bacon, was completely absent from the Panini. What the hell. All of these things just added up to me deciding to never go back there. You can't charge over $12 for the tiniest Panini I've ever seen and just miss the main ingredient. Would not recommend nor would I recommend anybody else to come here. read more

First time coming to a corner bakery and I sought out for a laxed study spot. I only got the blueberry muffin, but to my surprise when I came here the cashier said they are BOGO. Definitely jumped to a 5 star rating because of that. Lots of seats. Definitely a nice spot if you're trying to grab snacks, sandwiches or drinks with friends or just some study time by yourself However after being in the spot for about 20 minutes the wifi dipped out on me and even though it says I'm connected it is showing that I am not. And doing so I am unable to work or study here no longer. The food was ok but I wasn't thrilled. Clearly they were swamped when we came in but that just means the food should be better and not meh. Service was ok for McDonald's but not ok here. I have to give credit to the employees, as individuals the ones visible to customers were trying and the manager was definitely trying to contain the ongoing CF. The problem was the system was breaking down. Probably due to a lack of communication or the back end was overwhelmed. Either way orders were going out cold (my Panini) or not at all (someone in our group, they only one that had a meeting to get to after lunch). Fortunately the lady bringing the food to the tables made the extra effort to fix the missing food problem and when she couldn't, she got the manager. The manager personally handled the order. At that point it became a to go order (25-30 minutes after the order was placed). He offered a free dessert but frankly as someone at our table pointed out, it should have been comped. I'm giving the employees an A for effort but the restaurant a D. If the place was full of complacent employees it would have been a disaster of a lunch. Based on the hearsay from the employees, this is a regular occurrence when some sort of discount is offered. If there is a long line before noon, if you are pressed for time, go elsewhere. If you have time, be patient. Hopefully management will fix the actual issue, which isn't coupons, the issue is processes that can't handle a lot of customers coming in at one time. read more

I love corner bakery! I would def. recommend 1. the chicken pomodori panini (I've suggested this to a lot of people and they've all loved it and wanted to return here again) and 2. uptown turkey sandwich. You can also get these as a combo, which is basically 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandwich. Their ceasar and chop salad are pretty good. I should also mention that this place is slightly more greasy than some other cafe's I've been too, but it's all worth it. read more

I've noticed a trend in my reviews - I am always in a rush to school. I had a coupon for corner bakery so I searched in my GPS for the closest location. As I was walking to my car to the front door, the patio was PACKED. I groaned a little because I thought it would take a long time. Surprisingly, there was no line. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich with a tomato basil soup. My weakness are Corner Bakery's desserts ( I spent $50 on desserts alone one time haha)! I love their M&M cookies. So, OF COURSE, I had to get a cookie! I got a cookie and the cashier told me that if I made a $1 donation then I would basically get the cookie for free. Thanks for the heads-up! I helped out a good cause and got a cookie! Haha So, I paid for my order, got my number and was waiting for my order. To pass the time because I assumed it was going to take at least 10 minutes (like most locations), I began to people watch and eat my cookie. A number was called and I was still in my own little world. And since no one else was waiting for an order, I looked down at my number. And it took a moment for it to register that it was my order. Seriously it took like 3 minutes! I wasn't even half way done with my cookie AND TRUST ME, I eat fast. Usually at other places (yes this dessert before entree is a regular thing haha), I'm done with AT LEAST two cookies (HAHA). Super surprised. This location is now my favorite corner bakery! Generally I love Corner Bakery but I have got to say that something is a miss with their staff. Upon reading some of the earlier reviews, I know that I'm not nuts. I come in with my siblings and basically we make our orders easy 3 of the same things. 3 french toasts and eggs, 3 chilled swiss oatmeals, 2 coffees and 1 iced tea. The girl looked at me as if she understood and repeated. "2 french toasts, 2 oatmeals, and 1 coffee?" I patiently repeated it to her and she said back, "2 french toasts 1 oatmeal and 3 coffees?" If she didn't have an attitude problem in the first place *cough* (amanda) then I wouldn't have snapped back, "No there's 3 of us that's why we want the three french toasts." Needless to say when our orders came I noticed the missing oatmeals and was not amused. The staff person who delivered our food (dunno her name) was also...sigh...in need of some training, and I was left unimpressed and annoyed. Instead of setting our food down on the table, she passed it out to us like your aunt would pass out paper plates to you during a picnic. Why am I not giving it a 1 star? Because the food was still decent and I have gone here with friends where the servers were competent. My advice to the establishment and their manager: Have a meeting with your staff and train them on taking orders and customer service. If this is the same experience that people are getting for breakfast, then screw breakfast go somewhere else, you don't need to start your morning on a bad note. read more

The place itself was dirty and the area where I sat just smelled kind of funky. I also wanted to study but there was only one outlet and their was supposed to be wifi which there wasn't. I had the mom's combo which is a basic sandwich and a salad. I asked for light dressing, which i did not get. I also got the smoked turkey sandwich and it was really bland. I've been to a couple corner bakeries and this one, this branch alone, was pretty bad. The one at south coast plaza is definitely better. 3.5 Stars I. Love. Paninis. Especially with pesto. When I feel that Pippins is long overdue from making great panini, I come here to get my fix. FOOD QUALITY: Chicken Pomodori is my go-to panini to get. Sourdough bread that's grilled to a crunch perfection. Oven roasted tomatoes, basil, spinach, pesto mayo, and provolone cheese to all contribute in making a powerful flavor rush. I feel that the chicken here weakens the flavor, as it acts like a buffer. Could a little more pesto in their panini too. Pesto cavatappi is a dish full of creamy pesto sauce, but to be honest I've been able to make it just as well.. Pasta usually comes out a little overcooked. Ingredients are not of cheap quality, that's for sure. They have good bread, and fresh vegetables for the most part. SERVICE: I think there has been a few times where they've screwed up my friend's order. ENVIRONMENT: Plenty of seating, but tables are a little poorly placed. It's spacious and there's always enough space to retain some privacy for your party. Noise level here is usually quiet to moderate. Spicy Asian Pork - $8.79 - Shredded pork was seasoned pretty well, you can taste that general seasoning you get in Viet pork. The toppings were similar to what you get in a banh mi. Not really spicy. The BBQ sauce was not good, the tang balance seemed off. My sample was free, but I would rather pay $2 for a legit banh mi then buy this for full price. read more

Our choice was between Pat & Oscar's and Corner Bakery. Now I'm sad that we didn't go to P&O's. I got the most popular dish on the menu: CHICKEN POMODORO PANINI. Not bad, a little bland for my liking and the bread was really hard. I had to bite down pretty hard to get through it. I thought it could've been more juicier but it was a little disappointing. My friend got the TOMATO & MOZZARELLA SANDWICH. She said it was dry, but the vinaigrette gave it a kick. However, she felt like it was nothing that she can't make at home, and definitely not worth $7, despite the amount. Lastly, the roommate got CHICKEN CARBONARA, and since it's unlikely to go wrong with this dish, she said it tasted just like any other ones she's had. No complaints, no compliments. We stopped here for a quick lunch. The inside is a little small. So if you're coming in for lunch, perhaps eating outside would be a better choice. Unfortunately, it was 100 degrees when we went, so eat inside we shall. I found a corner table of booth and chairs on the left hand side right next the the window for my toddler and hubby. I do love me the chicken pesto sandwich, but on sliced wheat bread. I do like the food of Corner Bakery and I like that they offered crayons and a separate kids menu. The reason for the 1 star you ask? First, out table wasn't cleaned off. One food runner asked if I was done and I said, this isn't ours, but please take them away. I wish he came back or told someone to come and wipe down the table. I had to wipe it down myself. Second, my daughter and husband were sitting on the booth side. There were at least 5 flies swarming around this window. I was constantly swatting them away from our food and my daughter's head. Third, to top this whole insect thing off. My daughter dropped a crayon that fell in the window ledge. I went to go and try to retrieve it, but literally almost lost my lunch. There was a cockroach! Yuck. Yuck. YUCK! EWWWW! I went to the Corner Bakery for the first time today. It's kinda Panera, meets Starbucks, and attempts a love triangle with Cortina's that doesn't work out. I had a Chicken Pomodori which had oven roasted tomatoes (i like), spinach (i like), pesto mayo (i really like). But it also costs over 10 bucks for the sandwich and a drink and I got hungry in like an hour. What can a fat man do? (I picked up Jack-n-da-crack on the way home). The place was nice. The workers friendly. It was packed with people. I'm wondering why I'm the first to Yelp this location? I feel bad giving it only 3 stars. Great quick lunch or breakfast spot. They have good desserts and treats you can buy to-go, their cinnamon raisin crisps are amazing. I don't get them anymore because I eat the whole bag. There a step above average in terms of variety and taste but let's face it.. 9 times out of 10 when you're looking for unique or superb, you aren't going to a chain restaurant.. so this isn't anything I hold against them. Food was excellent tasting and left me wanting more. I'm glad their bread crust is soft and not hard like other places (Boudin's). This CBC is actually in a really great, convenient location inside a big plaza with a grocery store and some other restaurants nearby. The staff is always friendly and they are able to provide really good recommendations. This review is solely on their bakery items as I have not had their food items from this particular location before. Service is always pretty fast and efficient. There are a lot of tables and chairs inside to sit and eat, do homework, or otherwise hang around. I have tried the cookies and some of the other pastry items and I have not had a bad experience yet! Hey Mr. Manager. Did you know your staff was locking out customers at 9:55pm on a Saturday night. 5 minutes before closing is still 5 minutes too soon. It damages your relationship with a customer who went out their way to come to your store before it closed. I even pointed to my watch as she locked the door in my face and she just smiled and shrugged her shoulders. That is just plain lame. You are running a pretty shoddy shop there Mr. Manager. I understand every restaurant must make changes to accommodate Covid, but this one is the absolute worst. I really like this place because they have the best deals and healthy options to choose from. I love their salads. Unfortunately, the last two visits were a mess. I do not think I'll be coming back to this location. They were so busy the last time I came that they forgot my garlic bread and tortilla chips for my salad. Today I ordered at 6:32 and my order was ready at 6:36. The thing is my buzzer never rang. I proceeded to wait another 15 mins until I walked up to the register and saw my order sitting on the rack.
