Surprisingly really good beef noodle soup! It definitely cures any beef stew cravings, hangovers, and desire for comfort food! I ordered the beef noodle soup and it was soooo delicious! They give a generous amount of beef with the soup. There were a couple of big chunks of beef, which was way more than I could eat. I still had so much beef and noodles leftover that I took some home for a snack later. The soup itself is yummy! I am a HUGE fan of beef noodle soup, so the broth has to be good. I'm craving those soft delicious warm chewy ooeygooey globs of joy so bad.. which is why I'm writing this review right now.. Seriously, they are so addicting! They're not like traditional mochi that's filled with stuff, instead they're coated with sugar, half black sesame & half peanut. So deeelish! This is a staple location for a beef noodle fix for my friends and family. I myself am not too big a fan of beef noodle in general, but in replacement of that their signature XO dry noodles are bomb. The XO sauced used for the noodles are made by the restaurant themselves! Right on to local stores The sauce had a decadent flavor that tastes like a local Hong Kong vendors we all so love. The noodles taste like the art has been perfected over years with their perfect chewy to elasticity ratio. In general, the food is excellent! The restaurant, however, is a little grim and dim. It gives the ambience of a little dirty. My cousin who is more OCD about cleanliness felt the utensils and tables were sub par to the standards of sanitation. At the same time, I feel like the dirtier, the more decadent the taste right?? Haha. Aside from the food and the ambience, to me the best thing about this place are the people. The service is always friendly and has never sassed customers. It's nice when you'd see the owner will come out and soak in the feelings of joy when her customers eat her food. Taiwanese beef noodle soup in El Monte...? I scoffed, thinking the best only resides in Rowland or closer to MPK. I ordered the beef/tendon noodle soup. It's a big bowl! The noodles were firm and thick, just the way I like it. The beef was a bit tough for my liking, but the tendon was great. The soup was a bit greasy, but very flavorful and made me almost want to drink out of the bowl. I ordered an extra side of tendon and it filled me up decently for roughly $13. I'll admit that DTF is my benchmark for beef noodle soup... I like their soup even more than their XLB. I've had this soup in Taipei, and it was too spicy for me there. DTF has a wonderful, mild broth. The soup here is also mild and even better than DTF! The yelp love attracted me to this place, so thank you, yelpers, for shouting so loudly in favor of this soup. I ordered extra meat, and that really wasn't necessary. The portion is huge (the meat chunks are double or triple the size at DTF) and a tremendous value. i saw this place is highly recommended by others who are also into taiwanese styled beef noodle soup. we went there right at 11am on a Saturday. we had any seating to pick and ordered right away - a half beed, half tendon beef noodle soup (~$19), a bowl of their famous wonton, and a side dish of cold marinated cucumbers. overall, i give this place 98/100. almost perfection and that's rare from me. the beef noodle was almost perfect. the meat and tendon were melt in your mouth kind, and they served plenty of beef and tendons. so i guess that justifies the ~$19/bowl. meat/tendon were very tasty. the flavor were saturated within. the soup was great, but my taste buds are on the heavier side so some people may find the soup salty. i plan on going back and ask for extra noodles on subsequent visits. the noodles (thick) are if the right texture. i would've liked if the noodles were "hand pulled" type like what Northern Cafe serves. but the noodles are fine. i went there specifically for the beef noodle soup. the house wontons are an extra surprise. they were huge. the fillings were full of meat. the soup with the wontons was nice too. either the beef noodles or the wontons soup will be more than sufficient to satisfy any hungry patron! lastly, i liked the cucumber side dish. just enough sugar, vinegar to go with the beef noodle soup. plus the cucumbers were crunchy, as if they were made the night before (fresh). i'd recommend this place for anyone into the taiwanese beef noodle soup. you'll thank me after your visit for sure. read more

You can tell they do not just scoop chili oil into the broth, the chili is cooked with the soup. The beef is soft and cooked perfectly, it falls apart when you bite into it. I first started coming when they had just opened, as its right by my girlfriend's house. I'm always up for trying new places and although they had no reviews at the time, I decided to come anyway. Boy am I glad we decided to come here! The beef noodle soup is, without a doubt, the best I've had anywhere. There are huge chunks of beef that have NO fat at all, but are still incredibly tender. The soup is flavorful and not oily like so many other places. Popcorn Chicken - what can I say about this one other than yum? Light, flaky, not overly battered and an ACTUAL real chunk of juicy chicken! It's an excellent combination of sweet and salty, but definitely more on the sweeter side (so if that's not your thing, keep it in mind)! The restaurant is run by the sweetest owner in Teresa and her team. It's always amazing service every time I come. It's your typical mom and pop noodle shop and there's not a lot of items on their menu. It probably has a handful of noodle options and a few appetizer options sprinkled in here and there. My friend got the beef noodle soup, I got the noodles with XO sauce and we ordered an appetizer of the pork monascus. I had no idea what a monascus was but the photo looked good. My noodle dish was on point. Had the right amount of spice and salt and the portion was just right. The pork monascus was AMAZING. Probably one of the best things I tried in 2019. We have a Taiwanese foodie friend that brought our attention to this place. Since he is out in San Marino we thought we should give it a try given how much he raved about this restaurant despite it being out of the way. They are famous for the beef noodle soup so we tried their flagship item, the beef, tendon, tripe combination. In addition we also ordered a braised pig feed rice dish, and a side dish of boiled vegetables. The place is located in El Monte on Peck Road just north of the Auto Center. There are many nearby Asian food eateries next door in this strip mall which is convenient if you want to sample other nice treats like Dim Sum. The restaurant conveniently opens at 11 AM for lunch and we sat down at 11:15 with only one other party there (it really filled up by the time we left close to 12 PM). Inside, the restaurant is very well stocked with several fridges containing items that you can buy to go, such as ma-la hot pot broth, Taiwanese desserts, and Taiwanese soft drinks like Apple Sidra. I was very impressed with the fact that you could get most of their food frozen to go. There was quite an extensive selection of items from the menu in the freezer/fridge. The soups and items like meat sauce for noodles appears to be cooked and frozen so could probably just be reheated and served. They had frozen dumplings too! Our food was served by a reasonably friendly waiter in about 10 minutes and presentation of the dishes is decent. The spicy beef broth is delicious with good amount of kick from the ma-la flavor. The beef is good quality and quite tendor, and the texture of the medium thickness noodles is perfect. We knew that instant my daughter would fall in love when we return with her. We really enjoyed the braised pig feet too. The collagen just melts in your mouth and the pickled bamboo is just the right amount of sourness. Both items are quite rich and filling so fortunately we paired these dishes with the boiled bok choy which was surprisingly a large healthy non-oily portion of greens. Quite delicious with small pieces of fried garlic as condiment. Only pet peeve here was that the prices are not cheap, particularly for a joint that takes cash only. A nice indulgence overall but I wouldn't make it a daily habit. read more

I've been exploring Taiwanese food lately, with a special interesting job dumpling and Taiwanese beef stew. While I wouldn't consider myself TBS aficionado, this was pretty darn amazing. I've gone a few times now to get their soup, but this last time I went I had their PORK CHOP W/ RICE which is also an important staple in Chinese cuisine. As good as their beef noodle soup is, the soup base is extremely oily and very heavy.
