My ONLY COMPLAINT is that this place closes at 8 PM but other than that the food is amazing. Best bar food I have had so far down here in the South Bay. I usually find bar food either mediocre or too salty but the Corner Joint offers such a good variety. I ordered the mediterranean salad with chicken and Cesar dressing. I was not disappointed with how fresh everything the salad was. My family also ordered from the interesting sides like the buffalo cauliflower, mac and cheese poppers and the pizza. Tuesday night and came out to this place with the guys. Ambiance is cool and staff was very friendly especially our server. She was very nice and gave recommendations on what to try. Looked over the menu and placed our order. Michelada - Ordered a michelada with corona familiar. The michelada was really good with just the right amount of heat. It was very enjoyable but I only had one. I could have had another one but I decided to go with just a corona familiar. FYI you can add many things to your michelada like a slider, bacon, etc. Buffalo Wings - we actually ordered both flavors of wings they have. Original hot and BBQ sauce. They were both good and had good flavor although to my disappointment they do not have blue cheese. They only have ranch for your wings. Al Pastor burger - Brioche bun, marinated pork patty, spicy mayo, butter lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, grilled pineapple, avocado and oaxaca's cheese. This burger was hyped up so much by a friend and the server that I decided to order it. It was their best seller and I have to say It was not as good as they made it out to be. I imagined actual taste of alpastor like when you order al pastor tacos, I expected that same flavor in the meet. The patty actually taste like longaniza and nothing like al pastor. And the 15% off my Yelp! Check In made it even better! The mister and I split an Al Pastor burger and Chicken Strips both served with fries. I totally get the hype! The al Pastor burger is the perfect blend of sweet, savory and just a bit spicy! The pineapple is the perfect touch! And the hand breaded, well seasoned chicken strips were delicious too! So much better than the typical Sysco standard chicken strip! My only disappointment would be the fries were a bit under cooked (done but barely enough for a crisp crunch). Cute mom and pop place. Definitely not what I imagined walking in due to its location. I came in specifically for the loaded Micheladas. I didnt try the food, but we did order appetizer. The vibe is cute and you can tell they are aiming for a sit down feel. The decor is very lacking but it has a modern, welcoming feel. I ordered the DOS XX Michelada with a Beef slider and bacon wrapped shrimp. Pretty yummy and worth it. (About $15). The manfriend order the Modelo Negra Michelada wiht he bacon wrapped shrimp. These aren't the wimpy cup of noodle shrimps either. We also ordered the buffalo wings and a side of fries. The wings were way way way too spicy! I love spicy but these were just too much. I couldn't enjoy them. They were not breaded or crunchy, so just a bit of a let down for me since the only flavor coming through was the burning pepper. Our bill came out to about $43. We did the yelp check in with a 15% Discount for a total of $38. I saw my neighbors burger and pasta and both looked appealing. This is the mushroom pizza from their menu... and it is delicious... I LOVE mushroom pizza and this is by far one of the best. The goat cheese is the topper for me. My son had a small cheese pizza and he's a very picky eater. The bucket o fries is ok but it's just fries, not very crispy as they should be , if cooked the way they say , fried and then pan fried to be crispier than just fried. Summery: this pizza is REALLY GOOD, mind you this and my sons cheese pizza are the only pizza I've tried. The pizza sauce is not your regular red pizza sauce, it's hardly noticeable, not so over powering as some sauces can be, and to me is so important so that you can taste the real reason you ordered pizza. ;-). Love this place! Very clean and service is always friendly and attentive. I had the chicken fingers and my fiancé had the pizza. Everything was delicious! My favorite thing about this place is the michelada with the beef slider. Sooooooo good! It's just spicy enough, and plenty of favor without being overwhelming. Sunday Funday! Stopped in with a couple of friends to try a michelada and some small bites. I've had my fair share of garnished micheladas but none with an al pastor slider on top. Al pastor is one of my favorite meats in tacos so trying this was a must. The michelada had a good spicy tomato and beer taste. Lime could also be tasted all throughout. If the michelada isn't spicy enough for you then there's a few slices of jalapeños floating up top to munch on for the extra kick. You can choose from a regular cheese burger slider or an al pastor slider to be added. I was right to go for the al pastor because it was delicious. The flavors from the pork and the pineapple provided a mix of smoky and sweet. I also had bacon wrapped shrimp added to get in my bacon fix. Bacon makes everything better...not that the michelada needed anything to make it better but both the bacon and shrimp did compliment it well. I ordered an appetizer of calamari. The rings were crispy and was feeling. One of my friends ordered chicken strips but asked for them to hold the fries. When the plate arrived, she was given extra chicken strips in place of the fries. I thought that was cool of them to do that. Most restaurants will offer another side for substituting but not extra meat without an additional cost. Kudos for that. Michelada fans will love them here and the bites are pretty good. I saw a few good looking pizzas being served to other tables. First time trying this place. Small restaurant with few menu options. No pictures in the menu, not eating is a bad thing just Putting it out there. Service was good, the girls were very friendly. We came in because we were craving breakfast and found this place y Yelp and wanted to try it out. I had a breakfast pizza and my boyfriend a breakfast sandwich, for my daughter we order French toast and a side of sausage patties. Last time I was here with my lovely beautiful wife, our order took took 4ever and then some. Aftet a long wIt, my wife's salad came, my pizza took like 6 or so minutes more after my wife's salad. The waitress kept apologizing indicating the kitchen staff was very busy. The restaurant was busy but I think there was a boo-boo with mine and possibly my ticket got skipped. Parking - Spacious area in a shopping center. Plenty of parking within walking distance. Location - A small cozy restaurant. It has bar seating and comfy table seating. Pricing/Food - The pricing was average and comparable to other similar small restaurants. - For food we first had the beef sliders with onion rings. The cheese was not melted. Which made it very unappetizing. A easy flip a bowl over the burger to let the steam melt it is not hard at all. On the flat top or stove. It was lacking in seasoning but extra thousand and a little salt/pepper helped spruce up the flavor profile. The onion rings by far the best I've ever had. Crunchy and full of flavor, I absolutely could not get enough! -Pepperoni and cheese pizza with a side of fries. The pizza was thin and crispy great flavor but the cheese on top looked like they had a problem with execution or handling the pizza while it was still too hot. Seems like an ongoing theme this visit. The fries were fresh, hot and so crunchy. Just the perfect fries. -Drink - I had the Michelada and hands down in my top five I've ever had in my life. Spicy, lemony, well balanced combination of beer and Clamato! If I wasn't driving I would have ordered a couple more. If anyone wants a Michelada it has to be from here in this area. Experience - The staff was professional, welcoming and attentive. Something we come to appreciate many times. The only complaints I have is I went on a early Sunday dinner. It was not overly packed but the food took about 40 minutes to arrive from the time of ordering. We also eat with our eyes so things taking so long I expected better execution. Nice little place tucked in a shopping center on the corner of Rosecrans & Hawthorne, behind the gas station. Looks small on the outside but has alot of seating inside. Cam here because of the Al Pastor Burger. Was pretty good everything blended nicely, the patty was a little dry though but overall very good burger. Also got the slider topped Michelada. If item is no longer available call or text customer and let them know so they have the option to cancel or order something else! 3.
