    Pork chop and grandules.

This food was absolutely amazing!! I loved the energy, authenticity, and vibe of this location. I ordered the pork chop with grandules and it was delicious! Great service, amazing food, and all vibes.

We had mofongo and a lunch bistek meal. Everything was cooked well and had excellent seasoning. The plantain maduros were especially good. The arepitas con ropa vieja were a highlight for sure. It was a Sunday early afternoon and was pretty quiet. Service was as good...no issues at all. Lunch prices and portions are very good.

I came with a group of friends early Friday. We had to wait a few more minutes because they were still not ready despite it being open time. We waited and were seated 8 minutes past the time. Staff seemed friendly but we had to keep asking for service even though there was no one yet or after a few more customers arrived. They had to clean our table and still mopped the floors. I was surprised that if they open at 2 pm, they don't arrived 1-2 hours prior to prep. There was a weird smell outside and inside. We thought it could have been NYC Sewer. So do t want to blame them. Ok now to the food. We had the Pernil Mofongo, pepper steak, alcapurrias, arepas with pernil, and chicharrón de pollo. Food was amazing we got a ton of food. So although they are pricy, it's valuable for the food and location. Everything tasted and looked great. Beer was not as cold but we were happy to see they had draft options and various Hispanic selections. They did overcharged us but corrected the bill as soon as we told them. They were nice about it.

Visited on a Friday evening around 6pm. Conveniently located right near the train station. Waitress was very attentive but almost to the point where we felt a little rushed. I had a virgin pina colada (dry January) which is not pictured-- however I really enjoyed it! The pepper steak was tender and delicious and so was the Mofongo. Such a cute place with good music. It was getting more packed around 7:30/8 so you may want to make a reservation if you're coming later in the evening.

I'm on the fence still with this place. I want to give it 3 stars but then I'm like I like the atmosphere and I LOVE that they have $6 sangria all day and all night on the weekends. I had always wanted to check this spot out for that singular reason alone. We had stepped in here for a beer once eons ago on a week night. Popped in about two weeks ago and it was kind of crowded but not overly and we were about to sit down at the bar but the bartender and waitstaff said it was reserved and that all of the tables were going to be filled and reserved as well even though they were empty and there were like 4-5 empty seats at the bar. It was such a strange situation and I didn't ask questions. I was just dumbfounded and at a loss for words and walked out and went somewhere else nearby. Came back this past weekend and didn't have the same issue thankfully. We both enjoyed the red sangria. It packs a kick! No wonder it's a popular spot. They do play Latin music a little loud. The food is a little over-priced with having $30 something entrees (haven't tried it yet) but it is an eclectic menu of various interesting sounding dishes from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, etc. Will definitely check them out again!

    Mofongo

Came to NY for the weekend and I went to look for good mofongo and I came across this restaurant on instagram. Great food and the waitress was very sweet. I recommend their mofongo con churrasco. I also tried their lychee martinez which was strong but very tasty. Would definitely come back

They advertised this restaurant in instagram. Glad I was able to try this place. The place was cute and inviting. Felt like I was in Puerto Rico. The food was off the hook really tasty. The lychee Martinez was delicious. Their food /cocktails presentation was that caught my eye. Exceptional service from the beginning to the end. Definitely recommend and will come back. Nice decor too

Im not going to lie I'm really on the fence with this place. The food was yummy enough and the drinks were strong but the overwhelming smell of dirty mop was so bad that my mom couldnt even finish her meal because she wanted to gag Service was a 4/5 very nice staff and friendly even though the drinks took foreverrrr to come. Maybe Sunday afternoon just isn't their best time. The prices were 5/5: I love going to a place and getting a good value Food: 3/5: Not bad but just ok. The drinks 4/5 they were good but the chocolate drink tasted weird but it was strong so atleast it did the job. Overall a decent outing that would've been better if the hygiene was where it was supposed to be.

A Broadway matinee and good food? Say less…read more We booked our table through OpenTable, and from start to finish, the experience was seamless. Once we arrived, we were seated right away, and the service was exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and made sure everything flowed smoothly without ever making us feel rushed--which is exactly what you want when you're on a theater schedule. We decided to do Havana Central's Pre-Theater Menu before catching our afternoon show, and honestly, it might be one of the best values in the Theater District. We started with the empanadas, and they were the perfect way to kick off the meal. The outside was golden and crispy, while the filling was hot, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. For my entrée, I ordered the salmon, and whew... cooked to perfection. The seasoning reached every taste bud without ever being overpowering. The mango salsa was bright, fresh, and just tangy enough to complement the salmon beautifully. Paired with the rice and beans, every bite felt balanced, layered, and satisfying while still being light enough that I didn't feel overly full before heading to the theater. And then came dessert--the flan. Smooth, silky, and rich without being too heavy. It had that perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture with a delicious caramel finish that was the sweetest way to end the meal. From the beautiful atmosphere to the attentive service and thoughtfully prepared food, Havana Central made our Broadway day even better. If you're looking for a pre-show restaurant that delivers on flavor, hospitality, and value, this is it.

This visit was a no-brainer since it was directly across the street from the theater where my daughter and I were seeing Dog Day Afternoon. We only had time for a sangria and an appetizer, but that was all we needed. The bar area is cozy and charming, with an old-world feel. The vintage photos of the restaurant through the years add so much character and remind you of its long history. Their sangria definitely packs a punch! Since I don't drink gin, I asked the bartender if he could make mine without it, and he was more than happy to accommodate. It turned out to be delicious. My daughter ordered the coconut mojito and loved it. We shared an order of ham croquetas--six generously sized croquetas that were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and perfect for sharing. Walked into Margon Restaurant in Midtown and instantly felt like I found one of NYC's secret cheat codes. Small space, big flavors, zero nonsense. The kind of place where you're elbow-to-elbow with strangers but everyone's united by one thing... serious hunger. Ordered the Cuban sandwich -- pressed, crispy, loaded with roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard. One bite in and I stopped talking... which never happens. This thing didn't just deliver... it showed up early and over-prepared. Then came La Bandera Dominicana Braised beef swimming in savory gravy, yellow rice piled like a mountain, black beans doing their thing, and sweet maduros sitting on top like the victory flag.
