These guys will screw you! read the fine print, they make charges up and make you pay them. You rented a small container, they apparently sent a guy out to "check on it", and they charged me $81.24 just for a guy to check on it. Fines, fees, additional charges! There are lots of containers to be rented in OC, do not rent from these guys. Carlos (wouldn't give me his full name) was the guy who called and screwed me, this guys customer service was non existent. CR&R is a bad company. They have a monopoly on this trash business, they can screw you over and laugh at you. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. If I could give no stars I would. Over the past 6-7 months , CR&R has missed my pick up 3 times and each time I get the run around. No accountability, horrible customer service and zero follow through. The latest incident was Saturday. All the recycle bins on my block were picked up and the driver missed mine. Since it was Saturday, their offices were closed so I called first thing Monday morning. They promised it would be picked up by 6p, and it was not. I called again yesterday morning (Tuesday) and they once again assured me it would be picked up. I called again on Tuesday at 4:30pm since it was not yet picked up and if I waiting until 6 their offices would be closed. Was assured it would be picked up. Surprise suprise it was not. I asked for a refund or credit and they said it was not possible since the service would be completed. Now its Wednesday, and once again I called. They are now telling me they are backed up and no driver can come until the regular pick up day. So at this point I need a refund since services have not been rendered, and yet they refuse. The company just posted numerous jobs especially in the accounting department. I can only hope this leads to substantial improvement in their residential billing department. Since the beginning of contracting with city of Laguna Beach, it's been a quagmire of overbilling and mistaken billing with no solution in sight. After countless customer service conversations, just when I think it's been solved, it starts all over again. So much time spent, they should be paying me. CR&R Service in La Habra is a joke. I scheduled bulky items pick up service. Only one of 4 items was picked up. Spoke to a supervisor on the phone. Was told they couldn't pick up those items. They constantly lie!! Missed our entire street. Called the next day and was told they would be out that day, by 4:45 pm called again was told they were en route and of course nobody ever came. 14 other houses on block also called and were told this was the first time they heard about the entire block being missed. Called this morning and was told they would escalate it to "Operations". I asked for a call back and so far nothing. They close in 40 minutes. Second time in a month an entire street was missed. The absolute worst waste management company there is. On four separate occasions I have ordered bulky item pick ups and on four separate occasions they have not picked up. This means I have to call all of my bulky items all the way back in my garage and find a location for them while I wait for another appointment day. I've had to put up with these clowns for years. I don't give out one-star reviews lightly, a company truly has to earn it. Unfortunately, the city chooses which garbage company I must use but if I had a truck I'd strongly consider hauling my own trash to a landfill. Every week I'm out sweeping the refuse that is spilled from my bins (as well as my neighbors') as the drivers can't seem to empty them properly. I always adhere to their requirements: I put bins out the night prior to pick up, lids closed, 3 feet apart and away from the curb. For a decade, about once every 3 months they miss one of my bins. Every time I call and tell them my bin was missed they tell me a truck will be by the next day to pick it up. Customer service is obviously trained to lie about this because they NEVER do come back. I see this lie is common practice from reading other reviews. The reality is, if they don't pick up your trash you just need to wait until your next trash pick-up day and hope for the best. I can handle the incompetence of these dolts not being able to operate a mechanical arm that lifts a bin and dumps it into a truck. But a company that repeatedly lies so often that it becomes policy is unacceptable. read more

As he is pulling up next to me he stares me down.. Great job!! The trash and recycle pick up here in Lake Forest is okay but the green waste is not. I called today (12/30/25) due to another missed pick up and was told my green waste pick up would take place before 6pm. At 7:10 pm I checked and.. surprise, surprise (NOT) they did not come. We live in a complex where the choice is not ours to use CR&R or not. The group that handles the green waste pick up sucks!! The office employee who took the call was nice, so this is not on her but on the team who handles green waste pick up. They should be ashamed.. other neighbors also had non- pick ups for green waste. This company was good at first, and they have progressively gone downhill. They started charging more every quarter, but upon doing so their service got crappier and crappier. They started missing my cans at least ones a month, and this past week they missed it again. I called the next morning, and they said they would be out that day. Did not come out, and was told that they would come out first thing the next day....nope didn't come out. They are a pathetic excuse for a company. It's not hard to get all the cans on a street, especially in a Cul'desac where they got one half of the street but not the other. They really need to get their act together. So I mistakenly set up bill payer from my bank for monthly withdrawal instead of every three months!! When I received a bill stating that owed $500+ I knew something was wrong. I checked with my financial institution and saw all the payments. I sent all these documents over to them and it took three weeks for them to get back to me. This has been going on since March 2025. Once the error was discovered with the documents I sent, it took another 2 weeks for them to tell me how much the overpayment was to the tone of $800+. The check was supposed to have been sent May 12th. To date, no check and they continue to lie and give me the runaround. read more

This company does not care about its customers. My trash was not picked up on my designated day because they claimed they never received my payment, even though I received confirmation of my payment. I have called 6 TIMES over the span of 3 days. Each time, I was told that they would call their operations department and get back to me. Never received any return calls. Absolute pieces of . It looks like they don't even care about the reviews because they don't seem to be responding to them, but I will go ahead and vent here. Organics pick up was Tuesday. They picked up trash and recycling, but didn't pick up our organics can. I understand it's a smaller can it might've been hidden by the bigger cans. But I called them the next day and I will give them credit, they have actually been good about calling me back promptly. That's where any semblance of praise ends. I called them once on Wednesday and they assured me that it would be picked up. It was not. I called them twice on Thursday and they assured me the same thing. It was not. Today is Friday and I have called them every two hours since this morning and each time, they assured me that it would be picked up before 6 PM today. They promised that they have expedited and that the driver is on his way. I don't believe single solitary word they are saying. It's like the customer service agents are encouraged to lie. I bet they have a leaderboard on how many times they can lie to customers and the winner gets a trip to Hawaii. I wouldn't have as big as an issue if it was trash or recycling. But this is the organic bin. It is now filled with maggots and a health hazard. No way am I keeping it in my garage but leaving it out there probably encourages wildlife to come rummaging through it. I understand the 1.3 rating. Requested a "bulky" pick-up. This is an extra service, but you're allowed 6 a year, this was my first. Lugged my Cal King, box springs, and broken up desk curbside at 6:00 AM yesterday as instructed because they have a 13-hour window (and you thought cable companies were bad). Twenty-seven hours and three calls later the mattress, et al. is still curbside. My streetsweeper missed the front of my house, my neighbors (and me) still have to look at this and I was told this morning that even though I was missed yesterday, my window for pick-up is still 13 hours. I believe that companies like CR&R, Waste Management, etc. receive city contracts so I don't have a choice in who picks up the waste, but, if the Orange City Manager is reading this, you may want to open the bidding process and kick CR&R "to the curb"...pun absolutely intended! UPDATE...Just called for the 4th time, after what is now 30 hours...was told that they pushed me back until Saturday (that's in two days), no call, no text, no email. I set this time up over a week ago and I've now been relegated to the trash heap...again pun intended! How does this "business" stay in business? UPDATE TO THE UPDATE...Called the city of Orange, left a message, got a call back from an understanding gentleman who said he would call the scheduler and guess what, everything was picked up. The staff answering the phones are friendly enough and they do seem to try to help, but their management is horribly negligent and refuse to call back to resolve issues. I had a dumpster get pushed into my warehouse door by the driver. The first time they denied it and I had to pay to fix it. The second time they accepted responsibility, but it took months to get it resolved. It took cr&r months to pay the company that had to replace the door, so the door company kept calling me for payment. They consistently do not service the dumpster at my office and it takes multiple phone calls and messages to get it handled. I was offered credits because I had to pay my employees to go to the dump and pay dump fees even though I pay for a service to handle this for me. My credit has never been issued and I cannot get a route manager to call me back. Today is Monday and I've been trying to get this most recent nonservice handed since Thursday. read more

I put out bins and Amazon boxes on top of the bins because the guys told me it was easier for them. I have a service where a couple of workers get out and move and empty the bins because the street is too narrow for the truck with the mechanical lift. Today they took the boxes and threw them out on the ground and drove away. The alleged customer service rep told me I was lucky that they took them all this time because the policy is to refuse to take anything not in a bin. I pay $75 per month for this. read more

This trash pick up service is terrible. They dropped of new trash cans at my location but did not pick up the old cans on 20MAR2025. I now have a ridiculous 6 cans! I scheduled them to pick up my cans for 27MAR2025 and they did not pick them up! I labeled my cans for pick up to help the trash guys ID the cans for pick up. I scheduled them again to pick up my cans for 10APR2025 and they did not pick them up again! How many times do I need to contact them to pick up these stupid unwanted excess old trash cans? This company's service is horrible. They treat customers like their trash- disposal! We have had trash service out of Wickenburg, AZ for 20 years. It was originally a small privately owned business (which were very good) which sold out to CR & R several years ago. This year the service has gone totally off the rails. They are not picking up on the days contracted & it could be days later. I had to call twice to cancel the service. They told me to put out the trash cans on 5/14. Their trucks came through on the 15th & instead of picking up the cans, they dump empty cans & left turned over. This is the worst waste management company I have ever dealt with. Every year they'll miss my trash pick up, which makes no sense as the I always go the extra effort to keep my trash cans a good distance from each other with the lids closed and my house is inline with other houses, it makes no sense that it could be missed. So the day after pickup day I call to request a pickup, and am told they will pick up that day. They don't, I call again and get the same story. It happens again and a third day of no pickup. The best description of CR&R is " non-responsive, and full of excuses". I requested a licking dumpster for our business, so the homeless would stop going through the trash. CR&R said it would arrive in 30 days. It took 7 months and 10 cals, with every excuse from " it's being processed", to " we'll need to re-order it", to " we're out of locking dumpster." Our home account has a substantial refund due as a result of electronic overpayments. The refund was supposed to have been mailed at the end of January. Nothing. Weekly calks, receive the same lie, I'll check with our refund department and call you back." No one calls, no refund still. What an awful way to do business. read more

I wrote that I would delete a bad post when our trash was picked up and it was, four days late through no fault (NO FAULT!) of our own, and after four increasingly nasty phone calls and one online request through CR&R's website. I have replaced that post with this one but I will now be video recording the trash truck whenever possible when it comes past our house. I want video proof if the truck misses our trash for no apparent reason -- and we never have overflowing, overfilled containers. Generally, CR&R does the job, but failed bad one time for us in October 2025. They compounded my anger by telling me three times over the phone that our trash would be picked up and then failing to do so. read more
