My friend brought me here on March 30,2025. We came in that morning to do a birthday breakfast for me. The food was fantastic, we both god the farmer platter and got an order of pancakes to split. The pancakes were my favorite part. TJ , I assume a manager on duty, was there and he was very kind and attentive to my friend and I and he even went out of his way to bring out monkey bread as dessert! It was really delightful. It was both of our first times there and we kept complimenting the decor and I absolutely loved the neon light up sign! The only bad thing I have to say about the experience was our server disappeared for a while after taking the order for the appetizer then after dropping our main dish off. I honestly can't remember his name however I am sure he was busy. It did take a while to get our check however that was the only bad part. I live in the neighborhood and wanted to try it but felt like I needed a group and a reservation. I was walking by late one morning after a trip to my vet nearby (had a cat in the carrier) and the manager, TJ, was on the street saying goodbye to a pair of customers. He graciously invited me in and my gut told me I should check the place out. I took the cat home, returned, and had a delightful solo lunch at the bar. Rarely have I felt so welcomed in a commercial establishment. Ordered the Shakshuka which was divine, and a killer cold brew martini (I love a cold, boozy coffee drink). Will definitely be back with others, believe I have been recruited to be a regular and glad for it. I am a regular at a couple of other establishments on that Sophie Wright Place, and having Crack'd in my orbit enhances life in the Lower Garden District. read more

I had breakfast here this morning. I was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown, and I did a little quick search to find a really nice brunch place. This place showed up and I wanted to get a good morning walk in and so I headed out. Let me tell you, I really enjoyed it and it was worth the walk. The interior of the restaurant has a really cool vibe with lots of New Orleans flavor. The menu was also locally designed and I enjoyed my eggs Benedict with salmon immensely. For someone who doesn't live here and is trying to find cool places, I highly recommend giving away from the normal areas where people look to spend their money and check out a more local spot, that is well appointed and worth the walk read more

Came with my boyfriend,sister and nephew and our services was very underwhelming to say the least. For starters, our waitress wasn't clear at all when it came to the bottomless mimosas which aren't actually bottomless but more of a "until the bottle you purchase runs out" type of thing. I'm guessing there was a miscommunication or something because after we requested for her to take away the third mimosa she had her manager come over to gain clarification , which is understandable! My thing is the manager was a little rude. I understand that we looked young but if I wanted someone to talk to me like I'm their child I would've brought my mom to brunch with me. Even after I expressed that we will just keep the third bottomless to minimize confusion she continued to argue with my sister to try and make us understand her point even though we already expressed we understood. After that issue was resolved, we ran into another issue, our food was undercooked. My boyfriend asked for pancakes and he received undercooked,batter filled ones. I brought it to our servers attention and she was very helpful asking if he wanted it remade or not but it really wouldn't have made a difference he already ate most of it. Overall, it was just not that remarkable for us. The music is nice though. read more

For starters I am a local. A group of friends and I get together for brunch about once per month and we are always interested in a new place. We are a group of four and I arrived first for our 9:30 reservation at about 9:25. I was greeted by the hostess and gave the reservation name. She asked if the rest of my party was there and I replied no. She immediately and firmly replied that she could not seat our party until ALL party members were present. I stated that was fine as it is standard practice in several restaurants and asked if I could sit at the bar to which she replied yes. Unfortunately there was no room at the bar. I made my way back to the front area where there is no place to sit or wait. The only other option would have been to stand outside in the sun and heat so I kind of awkwardly stood between a table, the door and the podium. For this reason I was able to see her seat another table that did not have all parties present. When she returned from seating them I did of course mention to her that that party was not all there. She became very nasty and aggressive. Stating that most of the party was there. I replied that there should then be no problem if three of us arrived to which she conceded (with an obvious attitude) would be ok. At 9:30 two more of my party walked in the door and were were permitted to sit. Our fourth arrived by 9:35 and we ordered. The decor was cute and very comfortable. The service was verty good. The drinks and were just ok. I would say the food was all just ok. One friend had shrimp and grits that was flavorful, but only a splash of sauce and mage 3 shirmp. Another ordered the egg and bacon sandwich which was good except for an overwhelming amount of cilantro in the guac. The chicken and waffles had a waffle, fried chicken nuggets and a waffle ice cream cone? It was like three separate things on a plate with no cohesion. I had the seafood omelet which would have been nice. The eggs appeared to be cooked perfectly and the flavors balanced with a good composition of elements. Unfortunately the first bite revealed that it had been microwaved (perhaps repeatedly) which creates a rubbery texture. Even worse that had happed some time ago and it was barely warm. I wanted to love this cute spot, but the nasty hostess experience coupled with the just ok food mean I won't be back. read more

I popped in while waiting for a phone repair (don't get me started on THAT review) and had the most delightful Shakshuka... the spice was perfect. Came here with a party of six and our five month old . Just a short walk from the St. Charles Trolley through a nice looking neighborhood. This place is so close to Magazine street where there are lots of places to shop and walk around. They were able to sit us quickly. We ordered: -Crab Cake Benedict, -A smoked salmon dish -Bananas Foster Pancakes -Regular pancakes -Bottomless mimosas (it comes with a decent champagne which was surprising!), -Duck bacon -Shrimp and grits -Brisket Mac & Chz -Fresh Bread Basket (croissant, blueberry muffin, chocolate muffin, biscuits) -a specialty cocktail with grapefruit juice (I think they have a fully bar ;) Everything we ordered was fire. We were all satisfied and very happy when we left. Our server Ronald/Ronnie was excellent and made us feel at home as well as the Manager TJ. Also the bathrooms were very clean. Vindictive hostesses First off they told us it would be an hour for a table, left name and number walked around the corner to grab a drink. Got a text saying it's now an hour and a half wait, ok we will walk Magazine for a bit, since we are getting text updates. Within 10 minutes of the previous text we got a call, table is available. We let the server know we will be there in two minutes. Upon arriving we find out the table has been given away. The hostess was quite nasty about the whole thing so we walked out and enjoyed a wonderful meal at Surrey, which I highly recommend. I went with a group and we tried the bacon flight, monkey bread, shakshuka, smokin' Paris models, eggs sardou, fresh berries, and the hashbrowns. They were absolutely delicious. Bad manager, bad waitress, bad bartender. 1st visit fine/food was pretty good, was excited to come back and try additional dishes. After 2nd visit, will not return - ever.
