Unfortunately my husband loves their sweet tea, so I've been drug here many times and I always leave frustrated and disappointed. Often out of items on the menu. Last time I was quoted a wait of 10 minutes...over 30 minutes later I went to check on the table and they had forgotten us - no apology, nothing. Finally get a table, no service for 15 minutes, 40 minutes from being seating until food at the table. Didn't have silverware or the correct order. Listen - this is NORMAL here. We hadn't been to a Cracker Barrel in ages and decided to try it yesterday. I got the chicken tenders and steak fries and shortly after leaving it began almost immediately dealing with stomach issues. I'm in my second day and still have issues which have continued all day. I'm fairly certain the kitchen uses old grease for deep frying dishes. For certain, we will not be returning to this location. We haven't been to a Cracker Barrel in a few years. Last time we were there, CB sent me a gift card voucher after reading my last review. Decided to try it after all the hullabaloo about the logo change and the attempted rebrand. Unfortunately my wife and I weren't impressed. The prices are way higher than they use to be. Gift shop seemed a bit bigger however, still glitzy, over priced merchandise. I ordered the "fried steak" meal. My wife ordered chicken and dumpings. The fried steak turned out to be a flattened fried hamburger patty which was tough and dry. The brown gravy and sauteed onions helped a little (upcharge $1.09) however the meat itself was very bland. Green beans were mushy. The corn came in a small bowl with water at the bottom. Almost like it was scooped out of boiling water but, not drained. Mashed potatoes were fine. The biscuits were firm, sort of dense in consistency but bland. The chicken cubes in my wife's dish resembled what you'd expect to see in a chicken pot pie. Dumplings were somewhat undercooked globs of dough. The portion was quite large with enough to take home for another serving however, we declined the doggie bag knowing that we probably wouldn't end up eating it. Our server was very attentive and checked on us a few times. He seemed to enjoy doing his job. The maitre'd was sort of gruff looking and very matter of fact in his manner. We were there right around 5:00pm on a Sunday and it was actually pretty busy. We had a 10 minute wait for table. It was noiser than we remember it being. One of the staff was rearranging several tables and chairs and did it in such a way that it was clear he didn't like his job. Dragging wooden chairs and tables on a tiled floor and banging them up against each other in the middle of the dining area. Not cool. The huge fireplace was odd in that it had one gas pipe under the grate that was probably 3 ft. long emitting a large flame along it's length. No artificial logs. No glowing embers. Just a barren looking fire in a huge fireplace. It added nothing to the ambience of the dining area. We questioned why it was even there. As you may have gathered from my comments, we will not be returning. It just didn't live up to what we remember it to be. We visited for my daughter's birthday. I had checked in online and there was about a 5 minute wait but by the time we arrived it was closer to 20. Not a huge problem, we were there and enjoyed browsing the store while waiting (because of course I need new things for my house) It was pretty quiet in the restaurant, in previous visits we've had some very slow service but tonight was great. My husband orders the sweet tea and has his first glass finished before the rest of the drinks hit the table, and usually waits a very long time for a refill but tonight our server was on the ball and made sure he had all the sweet tea he could handle. We all love the food at Cracker Barrel. It's that good southern comfort food that is perfect on a cold drizzly night like the one we were having. Breakfast is a staple, but I had the Maple Bacon grilled chicken and it was very good. The chicken had cheese, maple glaze and bacon on top and everything blended well. Since it was my daughter's birthday we dropped a not so subtle hint and they came out with a giant piece of their Coca Cola chocolate cake and sang happy birthday. The cake was good, not fresh but it was the end of the day and still had a nice chocolate frosting on top. Overall it was one of the better experiences we've had, which I was thankful for. The food quality has really gotten bad. I ordered fried chicken. (I used to get half a chicken). What I got was 2 frozen chicken breasts. They said I could order something else. I have to come back and update my review. The POOR service was not just a one time issue as we came back over a month later and service was worse than the last time. After waiting 10 minutes with not one waitress coming by to even give us coffee or let us know she would be over I asked someone I saw wiping down a table near us and she actually said " Are you serious right now??" She then proceeded to clearly lie to us and say she was leaving and didn't know who our server was but then she was our server the whole time and had other tables around us. At the end and after being attitudey the whole time she tried to cover it up and apologize to get a tip. The food was just OK. I got the 10 oz NY strip steak. Ordered it medium but when I got it it was well done. Waitress got me another one that was cooked medium. The sides were mac & cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. It was ok but the gravy was very salty. Applebees and Texas Roadhouse does steak better. In the south Cracker Barrel is much better. It will be a while before I go back. read more

Hadn't been to a CB in years, and this was a pretty nice one. Fairly empty on a Tuesday late afternoon. Food was good, as expected. Waitress was very nice. Liked how the ice tea was served with just a few ice cubes instead of being 70% ice cubes and 30% iced tea like at most CBs. Did notice that their portions are slightly smaller than before, while prices are about the same or only slightly more---typical pandemic inflation I suppose. What a great place for homemade comfort food. The meatloaf was as good as my wife's. It was chock-full of flavor. The mashed potatoes were very good, along with the carrots and brought. They gave you a good size portion of everything. The homemade biscuits gave it a great start. I would not recommend the cornbread. They had three large dining rooms, but only one was open. Wonderful, amazing Tiffy is the reason for this review. McKenna started us out on the right foot by greeting us like she was genuinely glad to see us. One would expect this at any restaurant but enthusiasm been in short supply for a while. Tiffy greeted us with a genuine smile, was friendly, efficient, paid attention to our orders and made our dinner fantastic!! We don't go into Cracker Barrel expecting spectacular but this was; because of Tiffy. The food was predictably good, which we appreciate. We do not like restaurant surprises. We'd been on the road for hours and wanted comfort food. Breakfast at any time is what brought us in. There's nothing like breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Went here with party of 8 people and when we sat down we knew what we all wanted. 4 people got the same thing which was the Grandma's simpler. And one gota salad, and one got a chicken strip meal, also a meat loaf meal. Which this order was pretty simple. Well we sat there for over an hour waiting for our order. My recent update as of July 2025. So I'm gonna cut right to it. CB was one of my fav places to eat. Well not anymore! Got some fried food which I don't usually do. The french fries looked like something you would get out of a dumpster that have been sitting there for a week. They were disgusting to say the least. Burnt o a crisp and grease logged. Looks like they don't change the cooking oil when they are supposed to. I asked to speak to a manager who came over and I showed him the problem. I had to ask him to comp out the meal, which he agreed to. But then I thought about it and we just left all of our grease logged food there and that was it. My advice......DO NOT ORDER ANY FRIED FOOD THERE!!! Quality is dropping at good ole Cracker Barrel for sure! and that's a shame. read more

On a very busy holiday I have to wonder what people expect. I witnessed harassment, negative comments and overall just plain rudeness. Cracker Barrel is a great family place. They have a beautiful store that you can shop while waiting. Or, you don't want to shop, a lovely porch with their rocking chairs and checker boards to pass your time. The food is just amazing. OMG what a disaster! We had a gift card so we tried the Cracker Barrel once again, after 10+ years. We had breakfast. We had a new young waitress and the following happened. - She put in an order wrong and some sides dishes came out. It had to be corrected. -The meals were supposed to come with biscuits. They never made it. -Some of the food was not that hot...just warm, or very good for that matter. -The dining room was cold. -Coffee refills did not come. -The entire meal everything just took forever! -When using the gift card, the cashier scraped off the back to revel the barcode numbers and she used scissors and took off some of the numbers that were needed to read the card. 15 minutes and a hasssle later we finally were able to pay and leave. We've been to multiple Cracker Barrels and there is always something new to try. We had a slight wait but the service was good and they set us up and took our order fairly quickly. I had the Saturday special of pork chops with 2 sides and they were done OK, fairly nice size and overall an OK meal. Maybe you're not going to eat here which I understand but we need you to be quiet and tidy so that we can continue to have this awesome resource. I did arrive too late for dinner but I certainly enjoyed a breakfast in the morning. It's possible to stick with a keto diet by skipping the (delicious!) biscuits and the (delicious) hash brown casserole. I got two eggs basted (they don't do poached) and a side of bacon. This restaurant used to be pretty decent. Unfortunately, it has really gone downhill. Most come here for basic comfort food and aren't expecting a gourmet dinner, but even the basic fare was less than ideal. We ordered both breakfast and dinner. In no way do I blame the waitstaff or cook. You can tell this restaurant is staffed at the bare minimum. I think there was one waitress for the entire building. I also suspect there was only one or two cooking staff. Grits were literally like cement. You could tell they had been sitting in the warmer for 8+ hours. They were inedible. French toast was burnt. Got the biscuit beignets which were raw inside, but covered with so much pure cinnamon as to hide the fact. My son's fried chicken had either been pre cooked and refried or just sat in oil without being drained. Some of my husband fries were still frozen. They also ran out of ice cream so they couldn't make any floats. This tells me the owners of the restaurant are cutting back costs by lowering ordering and cutting staff. Probably the 2 things you don't want to do, to attract customers. The waitress was pleasant and doing the best she could. We won't be coming back here. read more

Service for a take out order was so slow. I waited forever just for someone to take my order, then waited a lifetime for the cold freeze dried garbage food to actually be ready. As I was waiting two potential customers left because the wait was so long. No offense to the servers who are all very elderly but they just don't have any energy to be waiting tables. For breakfast you can't beat the price for the value- they have excellent biscuits and you have got to ask for the blackberry jam to put on them. The grilled tenders are just as good as the fried tenders. Let me tell you this is the best bacon you can get out, it's the extra thick bacon. The servers are always pleasant here. My go to are the pancakes as those too are good quality and excellent flavor. The fried chicken sandwich is what we get when we are traveling and need to get some take out. One tip, the fried casserole balls are not the best, they just hold too much oil. Don't forget to shop while the food is cooking - there is always a 50-70% off section where you bc a find some great gifts. read more

Absolutely atrocious. Elderly relatives went to the establishment and tried to pay with credit card. They were told that they needed a pin. This was not a debit card. Went here today for my husband's birthday. It was a typical cracker barrel. Lots of stuff to look through in the country store and a large open dining room in the back. The food was average. I had the fried chicken but I thought it was more than a little greasy and it was mostly dark meat. Husband had the country fried steak and my daughter had the pecan pancakes. Everything was good, just not great. What I like about cracker barrel is that you almost always know what to expect. Friendly staff, good food, and good prices. It's one of the places I like to go when I'm traveling because it's usually predictable. If you want to go someplace where you can eat and shop at the same time, this is your place. read more

First I went to the bathroom and it smelled like an urinal. Got past that and went to the restaurant. Nobody at the hostess stand and had to ask someone in the store if we needed to be seated. Hostess showed up 3-4 mins. later and got seated. We were the third table with people so we thought it would be quick. Looked at the menu and talked to my daughter. Looked at the time and it's been 20 mins and nobody came to our table. Looked for another restaurant in the area to eat at. When I was done it's been 30 mins. We left. Went for a late breakfast this AM (11/26/23 10:50am), was meant to be quick stop off during our shopping trip/errands. Short wait around 15 mins for a table. Once inside a lot of tables were empty but I get maybe they are a little short staffed. Had a waitress named Stacy. She took our drink order right away and promptly came back with them. She stated she would be back in a few for our order. 5 then 10 now almost 15 mins past. She appears back at the table and says she's sorry she forgot to take our order. Okay. Would have called her over if she was around...... Once taken the food came out rather quick and tasted ok. Finished up and asked for the check. That took another 10 mins to appear at our table. Now I don't know if it was because it wasn't super busy due to covid. But having the tables spaced out and only so many customers dining in it seemed to have relaxed the pressure on the wait staff which was great! My waiter was Davin was really great and friendly. He always checked up on us to see if we needed anything, he knew the menu very well, and was just pleasant to speak with. Overall the staff was great and just made the whole experience better. The food was really good as well. I ordered the fried chicken and I asked for honey on the side and that combination was delicious. I did ask what was popular at this establishment and that was one of the suggestions I got and I now have to pass on that suggestion because it was that good, highly recommend. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were alright not super over the top but it did compliment the meal. The biscuits on the other hand I could probably pass on. Don't get me wrong they were good but they just didn't seem special. But that's okay because you should save your appetite for the main meal anyways. First time I have ever been to a Cracker Barrel! Quite surprised with all the items they sell in the shop and they have a restaurant to boot! The restaurant didn't really have anything that popped out or that I REALLY had to try. So, I settled for the Southern Fried Chicken. The food took awhile to come out, but the portions made me feel better about it. Not sure how to dive into the nitty gritty, but this is one of the best fried chickens I have eaten in awhile. Even though, there weren't many diners during that time anyway. Surprisingly, the bill came much much quicker than the meals, which my rule is to pack up as soon as I see it. Later, I learned that it was fine to keep eating and pay it later at the register. All in all, I might come by to check out their shop if I was in their area and spend more time enjoying my meal. read more

This is a great place to bring the family for some good comfort food at reasonable prices. Alcohol is not served here. You walk through the old country store to the host stand. If there is a wait for a table, you can browse or shop the old country store during the wait. The restaurant has many old classic signs and antiques of Americana. At each table, there is a small peg board game to keep busy while waiting for the meal. For breakfast, my favorite is the Uncle Herschel's Favorite (two eggs, grits, biscuits & gravy, butter, Knotts preserves, hash brown casserole, and grilled catfish) with a bottomless cup of coffee. For dinner, the Chicken n' Dumplins Platter (heaping portion of white chicken meat and rolled dumplings) served with three sides and biscuits is very filling and good. For dessert, Baked Apple Dumplin with vanilla bean ice cream and caramel is my favorite. The service here is decent and you pay for your meal at the register in the old country store. read more
