Hugely disappointed in this place. Let me start with the pluses: Location, parking, selection. The salespeople are EXTREMELY attentive... When you want to buy sometime. But heaven forbid you should need help with a return. I purchased over $3,000 worth of furniture from this location. One item was a Simmons mattress, which cost over $1K and came with a "20 year warranty." After using the mattress for only 3 years, it began to give me a very achey back. I tried to contact Simmons directly, but after several attempts, never got through to anyone. So I asked Crate & Barrel for some help, since the mattress was after all, uniquely made by Simmons FOR Crate & Barrel. I must have sent 40+ emails back and forth. Each individual forwarded to the next, to no avail. I was clearly getting nowhere. Finally, one manager said she'd have their mattress expert come out and inspect it. He was scheduled to be at my home between 7-9 AM on a given morning. I waited. And waited. And waited. At about a quarter to 11 AM (when I was already at work), the gentleman called to say he had arrived. Nice. Back to the drawing board. More emails sent back and forth. No avail. Finally, I made the decision to walk in and talk to someone directly. I asked for one the managers with whom I had exchanged several emails. She came out of her office and I told her who I am. She stared at me blankly. I kept explaining and she couldn't seem to place me. I finally retold the story 3/4 times until she finally seemed quite irritated and explained that there was nothing she could do for me. Wonderful. After being a loyal customer and shelling out over $3,000 in purchases, nobody was willing to lift a finger. But I'm sure that if I needed to buy something, they'd be all over me and super accommodating. This is not at all my idea of how to run a fair business. Customers should not be given the run-around or treated so dismissively. I expected more. Alas, I am through with this store. Why would I waste my time when there are COUNTLESS other furniture stores across this city with customer service that is far superior. read more

What a great day to write this review! July 4th, Independence Day, a celebration of liberty over tyranny! Yesterday, I went to the store... ready to purchase a bed immediately, and asked for a slight discount or free delivery. The on-site manager's demeanor was so CONDESCENDING and TERRIBLE, that I had to walk out empty-handed based on principle. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE does not warrant sales. He likely won the negotiation by simply saying no, and I likely would still have bought it without any discounts, but his AWFUL BEHAVIOR AND ATTITUDE prevented this from happening. I feel bad for the sales person who helped me because he was so kind and helpful. Today, I found a 15% off coupon that was in the USPS change of address mailer and bought the bed online. It was a very smooth process, and the discount was even greater than what I was hoping to achieve! Thank you, manager, for your RUDE ATTITUDE - I will have a nice dinner to celebrate! Outstanding customer service and integrity! I purchased 12 of C & B's Folio chocolate leather dining rooms chairs - over THREE years ago - and after about 18 months, all of them began to peel. It got so bad that they began to look like a very tan person after a really bad sunburn. Assuming that they were out of warranty, I bought slipcovers for all of them. Not a pretty solution for these sleek dining room chairs in a modern house. In late April 2014, I returned to Crate and Barrel Beverly Hills to shop for new dining room chairs, figuring that the new ones would cost me several thousand dollars in total. And here's where the store and staff earned their five-star rating. I chatted with the delightful and knowledgeable upstairs furniture sales associate Peter Nielsen and explained what I was looking for and why. He immediately summoned the customer service manager, Jeffrey Howard, and Jeffrey explained that the chair manufacturer had shipped a "bad batch" of these chairs a few years back and that he would exchange ALL of them at NO cost to me. Jeffrey went to his computer, pulled up my chair orders from a few years back to confirm that I was legit, and scheduled the delivery of 12 identical (but properly manufactured) chairs to be delivered to my home at no charge to me in 10 days. I thought I was hallucinating. A store standing behind their merchandise years after the sale??? Yup. The chairs arrived yesterday - at the exact time they were promised - and they are all perfect. (The delivery guys were terrifically helpful and picked up/loaded the 12 defective chairs into their truck and carried the new ones into the house.) I've always loved Crate and Barrel's furniture and housewares. This only confirms why I'm a lifelong customer. read more

I ordered several thousand dollars worth of furniture a weeks ago and was told it would take a 2 weeks until delivery. The sales person told us that we'd be called 2 days prior to "schedule the delivery". We told him that we wanted the delivery on a specific date when we were available after 12 noon and specially said that we were only available for the delivery in the afternoon. He said it was no problem -- we could just ask for an afternoon delivery time. Fast forward 2 weeks and we get a call that the delivery will be 9-11AM. I called the store to get the delivery time changed. The woman I spoke with was rude and told me that the information I was given was wrong (by the initial sales person) and the only option was to change the delivery date (to wait another week after already waiting 3 weeks for the first delivery date). I informed her that we were unavailable and that we needed the time changed, as the first sales person told us we could pick the time. She told me that it was in the small print of my paperwork and I should have read that instead of listening to the sales person. AND then she tried to tell me that I would be charged a $35 fee for changing the delivery date. Needless to say we will be canceling our order and purchasing items elsewhere. I have been a long time customer of C&B and have never had an issue like this but after the treatment I received, I will be finding a new place to spend my money. read more

Registry fiasco. What should have been a simple trip to add items to our registry turned into quite a headache. When the items we scanned in store did not appear on our registry it was 2 days of chatting with customer service professionals online, speaking to sales people at the store, until finally the managers got involved and remedied the problem. Ultimately they were able to locate our registry items through the scanner we used, but having to jump through hoops in order to make it happen was not something I signed up for. The managers were fast-acting and apologetic, but it still required much of my own time to ensure the simple job was done correctly. read more

I'm reviewing Crate & Barrel for a specific event that DMTB and I attended on 07-22-10. Thankfully, there was a cancellation, and we were able to make it last minute. We arrived around 7pm - and the event went from 6-8pm, and we were told that we could arrive any time within that time. Great. We arrive and check in. All of the employees were very helpful, and were not hovering - something that I would expect in Beverly Hills. We were able to talk to a certain vendor that we're looking to get services from, and it was nice to get actual facetime with him, instead of just corresponding over the internet. I hope we made a good impression. So, DMTB and I browsed around for the rest of the time, checking out the good, and making the necessary plans. It was fun just poking around Crate & Barrel - seeing all the cooking stuffs. Overall, the event was a lot of fun. Still waiting for it to be delivered, and I'm getting the run around each time I call. Not sure how to go about receiving my order. The go-to place for great wine glasses. I mean the super light & elegant kind that you bring out when you want the wine to taste better. LOL They have the mass produced ones too, but be sure to check out the wall of hand-blown glasses that each show a little irregularity. You can always tell a hand-blown glass by looking at the stem. It flows into the base rather than looking like it was stamped on by a machine. If earth tones is what you're into, then this is the place for that too. Called this location to order the Parson's rectangular travertine coffee table. Smooth process - gave my credit card to the associate, she said I'd get a receipt within the week and a phone call when my table was ready to be picked up. The simple process seemed too good to be true. I got a phone call 2 weeks later on May 6th, my table is ready for pick up. Yay! I arrange for my brother to drive up from Long Beach to pick it up in a vehicle that can carry a coffee table that weighs 155lbs (!!!). We get there, we're directed to the alley where their pick up zone is. A sales rep brings a huge box over and helps my brother load it into the car. I ask for the other box (the stand and travertine top are boxed separately). It's not there. Jackie, the customer service manager, comes out to speak with us. Very sweet, very accommodating, asked what would be convenient for me as this has caused inconvenience on their part. The solution came to be: we'll call you on Thursday or Friday (5/12 - 5/13) to come pick up the other box. Jackie gave us her business card and offered the option to received a shop card from corporate because of this mix up. I accept very willingly, I'm sure it will be a while before I see it in the mail. I call them twice today as I have not received any call regarding the shipment. First girl/woman was snooty. Second girl/woman had me on hold for 5 1/2 minutes before coming back on the line to tell me the shipment is still unloading. I call Jackie, the manager. The travertine top is damaged. We have to wait until next week. I am definitely not placing blame on anything or anyone in this elongated process to purchase a coffee table. I'm just disappointed it is unraveling this way. read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional. I'm furnishing 3000 square feet and called in to ask about my first order that according to their own website should be in store. A lady picks up, I understand if you're having a bad day I truly do BUT STAY AT HOME don't come to work if you can't provide a good customer service and represent your brand. She tells me that my order is maybe MAYBE available in August it's May now! I was told in the store that it was available so now I'm left with nothing! She even has the audacity to just hang up. So, if you want to place an order, get order confirmation and chase your items and money go ahead crate & Barrel is the place to shop at also icing on the cake: the lady that works there is really miserable and will take it out on you! now Some people are into that I happen NOT to be one of them therefore I take my business elsewhere where I'm met with kindness and honesty. read more

Crate & Barrel is one of my favorite stores to visit around the holidays, particularly this location. The staff is friendly and there is free two hour parking directly under the store. They have a great selection of home goods and gifts. They sell everything from glassware (my personal favorite Scott Zwiesel) to kitchen gadgets and festive decor. They always seem to be very on trend. The location is so fabulous, right in the heart of Beverly Hills. read more

However, we drive to the one on Beverly Dr. most of the employees are great, except for the older black lady that always seems to act upset and doesn't want to be bothered with questions. It has been a few times, when she has been very short. I will definitely avoid her from now on. I was there yesterday (Sunday) and her attitude is like she is judging people by the way they look or something. I imagine that working in BH does that for some people. I love Crate & Barrel but I had such a strange experience here recently. I went in for the 20% off Wine & Dine event, focused on only exactly what I needed - namely, one set of flatware. I've only been in my new studio for a couple months and this was the first big kitchen purchase for me, to have silverware for me, myself, and I. So. ONE, five-piece set. That's it. Well, the saleswoman 'helping' me made it abundantly clear that I would 'hate myself' if I only got one set. Okay, I thought. Maybe two, for when I do have people over - which isn't often, since I'm usually the guest at others' homes, not vice versa. But just in case, okay, two sets. Sales lady did NOT approve. In fact, she gave me the most god-awful looks as if I were scum for thinking I could get away with only TWO sets of flatware. As I tried to explain that I live in a studio and will not be hosting galas or after-parties in my home; that her optimistic outlook on how many Tinder dates actually want to stay at MY place for DINNER was nothing but a fantasy, she sort of waved me off with the kind of disappointment I have not seen since telling my mother I was moving in with my last boyfriend. So. Yeah. The rest of my shopping fun took a nosedive after that since I felt like everything I picked up was going to get slammed with judgmental commentary. The rest of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The store itself has pretty much everything you could need. I'll still be coming back here. Great sales. Clean. Etcetera. But maybe buy your silverware online... read more

My mom and I had such an incredible experience here this week. We were assisted by Parker, who is amazing. He is a Design Expert who specializes in furniture on the second floor. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us and really has a special eye for design. He helped my mom order a gorgeous day bed/sofa for her home office with a custom fabric of her choosing. He was very aware of each and every piece and knew which finishes and fabrics they all came in, in addition to knowing lead times for delivery. We were very pleased with our experience and plan to order more furniture with his help! read more

We are on the market for a couch and we're checking out all the usual suspects. When we visited Crate & Barrel, we were still thinking we would buy a pull out, but C&B changed our minds. Padric spent a lot of time helping us customize a couch and going through the pros and cons of all the options. If you're anti-down like us, they can customize cushions that are down free. Great to know! Ultimately, we realized a pull out would neither make a great couch nor a great bed, and if we wanted to go with one of their super deep couches, we wouldn't get that kind of depth if we made it a pull out. Padric also helped us in choosing fabrics that could stand up to our dog's hair, and we learned all about how a loose weave would only make us crazy when trying to clean up after him. We left this C&B a lot smarter and wiser. If you're in the market for a couch and have any kind of questions, Padric is your guy! read more

I am a Crate and Barrel fan: My wedding registry was through Crate and Barrel My other wedding registry was at Crate and Barrel 2 (cb2) I get all their catalogues and know them by heart I even get their kid catalogue. I don't have any children. I basically lived at the Crate and Barrel in downtown San Francisco and knew the sales people by name. That said, every Crate and Barrel gets a 5 in my book. I only give this one 4 stars, though, because it is not as big as the 3-story one in San Francisco and thus does not carry as many items (esp. dishes, platters, and glasses). Sorry, it's my sentimentalism talking! BUT - this one is very nice and extremely clean. The customer service was exceptional and we left smiling (after having spent our last wedding gift card - sad!). There is free parking down the street or maybe you will be fortunate enough to find meter parking on the street. Watch out for ladies (and men!) walking their puppies in the store, though! At first, I thought that Crate & Barrel are just for traditional furniture style folks with too much money in their pockets... but I was just proven wrong today! I went there to furnish our new house and with a laundry list of about 15 different items, I was amazed to find almost half of them, and some at their floor sample sales! Damien, the sales manager there, was absolutely wonderful. Part-interior-designer, part-sales-consultant, he was so patient and took us through so many great pieces in the store with such knowledge, I wouldn't have been able to do the purchase all by myself. There's always the big price-tag items (which you can wait for the sale). But after shopping around at so many different stores (really, we must have gone to 50 furniture stores all over LA!), C&B is the place to find modern, on-trend pieces.... and don't shy away from the sales section! read more

I've been to this C&B many times, but usually to buy gifts for wedding registries or pick up random household items. I came this past Saturday to look at their furniture since I heard they were having a sale. I've seen some of the stuff online and in their catalogs- assuming that it would be out of my price range. And I was right on the regularly priced stuff, but wrong about the sale. I worked with Mark in the furniture department and he helped me score a floor sample bed for half the listed price. Yes, that's right half the price! I couldn't believe it! I ended up picking up a complete bedroom set and some outdoor chairs all for the price of what just a regular priced bed costs. I highly recommend checking out their furniture sale if you're in the market. None of the sales people were pushy and they were all willing to help. We ordered our couch during the busiest season (Crate and Barrel Custom Upholstery season) and he still managed to make time to follow up via phone call to schedule the delivery. I was extremely impressed with the gift registry process. The sales help made it very easy to make returns. On more than one occasion I returned multiple items from multiple different receipts. Sales help didn't bat an eye -- just efficiently and pleasantly made it happen. The store itself is a typical crate & barrel. This C&B has provided a level of customer service that I never knew existed. We ordered some furniture and have had multiple issues after it's been delivered- but each time, the staff has quickly ordered a replacement. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Fara and Tony who have gone so far above and beyond- they've turned my wife and I into C&B advocates. While they are more expensive than a lot of stores, they are worth every penny. Their after-sales support is second-to-none. read more

My review of the store, the furniture I purchased and my sales rep is 5 stars. My review of the delivery process and the customer service with my delivery problem is 1 star. So I averaged it out to 3. My sales rep, Mike Dion was awesome. I went into the store 3 different times and Mike expertly helped me pull pieces together. He had such great ideas and helped me put things together I never would have thought of on my own. I placed a large order with furniture for our living room, dining room, deck and bedroom. The problems started with our original delivery. Four of the items I ordered were missing without explanation. The delivery men had no idea what happened so I called the store and spoke to the customer service rep, Crystal. Crystal said they would refund my shipping cost and she would reschedule the delivery for a week later. When I told her I didn't think we should have to wait a week for their error she told me she would talk to the manager and get back to me. She never got back to me. After two days, I searched online to find the store manager's name and only after emailing her directly did I start getting real customer service to solve the problem. She arranged for our remaining delivery to come by courier and applied a courtesy discount. However, when the delivery came, one piece was still missing. We finally got our full order a couple days later. For a major national chain, logistics just shouldn't be that hard and customers shouldn't have to chase and beg to get mistakes rectified. I feel bad for the store employees because Crate & Barrel obviously has a problem with their customer service and delivery. It's a bummer because I had such a great experience in the store and we are really happy with our furniture. But the missing deliveries and the poor way customer service handled it initially left me with a bad impression. read more

Where do I begin. I'd give it more stars based on the products since I love the stuff there. This is solely on the sales associate (aka abuser) Sam at the Beverly Hills location. He is the most insulting, demeaning, and shaming person I have met in while. Buying a couch is not like buying a t shirt. So calling me difficult within a few minutes just because I was asking about dog proof fabric and shooting me down for that and then continuing to insult me for 2 hours and pressuring me is not ok. Now I am calling to cancel (my fault for falling for his abuse) but it took me until getting gone to realize what had happened. He needs to be removed and at least written up for his behavior. You cannot treat people this way. So I am calling to return the couch and talk to the manager to complain about being insulted and my terrible experience with Sam. He needs to be fired asap and learn some social skills. The customer should never feel pressured, insulted and shamed for wanting to make a good choice. You don't know my space I am trying to fill and you clearly don't know anything since he didn't tell us about the deep vs. regular couch sizes. Then when he told us over the phone afterwards he shamed me for questioning it since I wanted to check while in my small living room space. I will cancel my order and either re buy it with a better associate or just go somewhere else. Too bad the couch is pretty good. I am very upset and never go there to be with Sam. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE WITH SAM AND HE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE FLOOR. read more

Recently ran into Crate and Barrel to check out pillows. A sales associate approached me and I asked where to see a specific pillow. She called the warehouse. While waiting for an answer, she asked if I'd like to pay for it by cash or credit card. I said I felt that was a tad pushy and asked her to wait until I saw the pillow. Fast forward, this associate then tells me no one will bring the pillow down to me and insists for me to see it, I must go upstairs. FYI, I recently had foot surgery and was parked in a handicapped spot. Major fail. Not sure if there were any repercussions from speaking with a manager. Awful. read more

The furniture is nice and of high quality. Crate and barrel is one of the rare stores nowadays, that offers good , sturdy, and lasting furniture. Larkin was pretty bad, and sales reps not engaged. My dining set arrived in 2.5 weeks, intact and found it's place in our dining area. read more

Planned to buy a desk chair and couple sets of glasses, but out of 7 or 8 workers...only 1 person greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. I even returned to the glassware section 3 times and still got ignored. I honestly felt like Julia Roberts walking into a high end store in Beverly Hills from the movie Pretty Woman.
