Always a good stop! The strawberry and cream matcha is delicious! Not too sweet but so so good! The people are always nice and the shop has everything you could want! The ambiance is soo cool. Clean, airy tulum vibes.

Good stop along the 395 for some warm food, but their meat ratio in their breakfast burrito is pretty lacking. Tastewise, it's as expected and good but pretty disappointed that it was mostly eggs, potatoes, and a small handful or two of bacon.

The best tortillas and tacos I've had in years!!! Stop here on your way up or back from Mammoth!

It's a small market/taco shop. They have snacks drinks pan dulce and assorted goods. We got some food. I got the plant based taco trio. My favorite was the "carne asada". They had no vegetarian rice but I just gave the rice to my son. He got a quesadilla and enjoyed that.

This place is very interesting. Semi market, semi eatery and part bar also. The ordering area looks like a reception desk at a hotel while the restroom is one of the nicest restrooms I've ever been in as far as a burrito shop goes lol. Their market has various Mexican items and things like chips, drinks, fruits and veggies. We ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito. It was very big and filling and very tasty, the spicy salsa sauce has a bit of a kick to it but not too spicy. The outdoor seating with benches were nice to have and it looks like it can turn into a bar hangout at night time. The staff was nice and efficient with their food.

Our third visit and the food was fantastic again. I get the plant based tacos and my husband switches off with the bean burrito. There's a lot of food and the service is fast enough. Everyone is friendly and there's a small patio but I like to take it to go a find a scenic spot. The vanilla matcha is great iced or hot. I like it because is not sweet and the matcha flavor comes through. I always end up picking up some fruit but they have desserts in the cold cases. Cheers!

Who knew Bishop had this hidden gem! Located across from the Tesla charging station, lies REALLY GOOD Mexican food. We tried the Trio Taco plate and the carne asada burrito. All were excellent. My fav was the pork taco. Beans and rice were amazing! Staff is very friendly. I am forever in search of that taco guy kind of taco.. you know the kind.. you go to a great birthday party with AUTHENTIC Mexican food? That is this. This is that. Worth the stop. Weve definitely found our new spot to eat on our travels. read more

Nice to see Mexican food, but it is not authentic at all and very over priced. The atmosphere is nice. They have tables outside to sit down and it's clean. The people are nice as well. Just not a place to get authentic Mexican food. read more

Great concept of combining a market and a restaurant. Having tried the tacos, tamales, chile rellones, and different drinks, I can say the food was delicious. We and our dogs loved sitting under the shade of trees in the courtyard on a hot summer day. Thought was put into the design of the spaces and the detailed graphics. read more

Hidden gem in Bishop. When passing by must try this cute spot! Food was so good. Must order the menudo. And the elote is so yummy. The staff are so nice as well. Overall we're glad have discovered this restaurant/market. We bought fresh produce for our trip as well. read more

We stopped here on our way into Mammoth and were surprised! It's a little taco and produce shop that has an adorable outdoor area to sit and eat. They offer alcohol like beer and margaritas and the food was pretty good. The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend the frozen aqua fresca! read more

This place is right next to Tesla Supercharger, that's why it got many reviews. Food is mediocre. Tacos are dry and lacking ingredients. Burrito has just rice and salty meet, no sauce at all. Overpriced. I asked a question about the ingredients, but was ignored... I guess you need to have Tesla in order to receive a good service here. If you are looking for a place to eat, this is not there to stop by. read more

This was our last meal of our trip. We ordered the chorizo burrito, chicken quesadilla, and asada torta. The portion sizes were pretty sizeable. The chorizo was overly dyed red and husband said it was apparent later on. The torta had a good balance of beans, veggies, and meat. The asada was chopped but the flavor kind of reminded me of sloppy joes. The quesadilla was the best and that we ordered for our son. You could taste the butter on the well made tortilla, lots of melted cheese, and chunks of chicken. Nice and clean place indoors with outdoor seating on the side. read more

Place was nice and clean. I had a chicken bowl, I asked for extra salsa and they charge .50 cents for additional. Then, my husband ordered an asada burrito and he felt the burrito should've been 1/4 more size to it. Other than that, the food was flavorful and good! read more

The. Very. Best. Tacos. in Town. -- I love this super clean and adorable Mexican supermercado and taco stand. There are many items I can shop for here that here, so I don't have to go to the dreaded VON'S! Also: a frigde filled with take-home frijoles, ceviche, salsas and such. As far as the cafe: I love the Carne Asada tortas and the chicken tacos. OMG. Just like Mexico but better!! I didn't even need to use the salsa on the chicken tacos because the meat was so well-seasoned. Next time I will forgo the refried beans on my torta, though, only because I could only eat half, and b/c I saved the other half, the beans made it soggy ;) Decent outdoor patio -- could be nicer with more comfortable chairs and maybe umbrellas to offer more shade, but overall this place is a real gem. I had a No Meat Burrito, although it was really tempting to get birria. The burrito was delicious and filling. I ate it in a comfortable outdoor area. The best Mexican food I've had in Bishop so far. This is one block from the main street, so it's still easy to find. Definitely recommended. read more

This place was great- delicious good (asada burritos, chicken burritos, asada bowl) and when they ask you if you want the spicy salsa, and you say yes? You'd better be ready, it's HOT! I personally loved it, but it was a bit much for even my hearty, spice-loving child. The mango and watermelon smoothies were delicious- perfect things to wash down a spicy meal! And a great back patio to eat it on! We will definitely be back next time we're in town. read more

The plant based tacos are AMAZING - especially the jackfruit. The tortillas are really delicious, feels homemade. Some areas of improvement: 1) Burritos are not wrapped well - they are overstuffed and the entire bottom comes out. 2) Taking large orders over the phone: orders are often wrong. Even though the written order is correct (what they write down from the phone conversation) , what we receive is wrong (for example, once we got 2 extra vegan tacos, no meat taco we ordered, and an extra burrito). We only noticed the extra burrito, which they kindly corrected, but didn't notice the taco issue until later because it's hard to check all the tacos in store. 3) Tamales aren't nearly as good as the tacos, fairly average and wouldn't buy again. So 4 stars for the tacos and everyone is very friendly, while other food and take-out accuracy could be better! read more

This is by far the best Mexican food in Bishop. It is fresh. They have strong distinct flavors that someone clearly put thought into, not just throwing some cheese and tomatoes at rice and calling it Mexican food. Both of the two salsas are lovely, distinct and fantastic. Not tasting like windex or canned tomatoes. It is clean there. Like seriously clean. Everyone working there is nice. It is a local, family-owned business. They also sell delicious tamales. read more

Love this place! The receptionist at the hotel we were staying at suggested this place to my boyfriend and I when we checked in. I had the elote and plant based chicken and carnitas tacos. Super delicious! Very pleasantly surprised with the cute atmosphere. I felt like I was home in LA. Am recommending this place to everyone if you are on your way to Mammoth or going home to SoCal. read more

Mercado Mexico is super clean, across the street from tesla superchargers. This is real authentic Mexican food. It was delicious and highly recommended. We ordered pozole,torta de asada, picadita de asada and a quesadilla for the kids and everything was amazing. Yesenia took care of us and her customer service was great. This is a must have when driving through Bishop. read more

We stopped on the way back from Mammoth and wished we ate here on the way up as well! Fresh Mexican food we would have been happy eating in Los Angeles. Was an unexpected treat in Bishop. Everything we got was delicious! Jackfruit tacos, Burria soup, chicken quesadillas, and the most refreshing watermelon drink (we asked for no sugar added). It's also a little grocery store with fresh cut fruit (we had perfectly ripe papaya). Highly recommend! read more

A great spot walking distance from the Tesla charging station. Unfortunately there was no sitting area in there. We found a bench outside and had our food. The place was clean so was the bathroom. The pozole was amazing. The food was good overall. The jalapeño cheese tamale was the only thing I don't recommend. The tacos and the salsas were tasty. read more

When I contacted Ruiz customer care to complain, the representative showed zero compassion and offered no assistance. After mentioning I'd post about the incident on social media, she nonchalantly accepted it. I returned the unused portion to Costco and will never buy Ruiz products again; I urge Costco to stop selling them.

The flavors and individual components of their food just comes together so well, with a balance and synergy that is rare to find. We drive up to Bishop at least a couple times a year from Los Angeles, and in addition to the backcountry, this place is one of the main reasons ther motivates us to return. Food is based on 150 year old family recipes that originated in Guadalajara. On top of that, the people that own and operate this business are so friendly? pleasant and hospitable. Thank you Brenda, Andrew, Ariabella, Abuelo and the others I missed for operating this place! Please come open up a place in Los Angeles if you ever choose to expand!!!

Ordered a bunch of different tacos to go : lengua, pastor, cabeza, chicken. They were all very delicious and authentic. However, I still prefer the taco place Tacos Y tortas La Chiquita in Arlington VA better! Ordering took a while because he prefers cash and I didn't bring any, his credit card machine wasn't working well and it took a long time before the internet got connected to be able to pay. Also... I was a little bit worried about how clean things are, the chef was handling money, his phone, the credit card tablet with his hands, not wearing gloves or sanitizing in between... luckily I didn't get sick afterwards.

It's like the traditional cinnamon roll's raunchy cousin. - Pastrami sandwich - 10/10: good lord this is delicious. Easily top 5 sandwiches I've ever had. Hefty and filling for sure. The meat isn't your run-of-the-mill, dry, salty pastrami that you'll get at your local deli. They use premium naval cuts that are lightly seasoned, juicy, fatty, and super tender. The Swiss is also soft and spongy, very similar to mozzarella. You'd be satisfied just eating this by itself. And the rye bread is artisinal elite level, as expected. Freshly baked and super soft. So damn good I nearly SCHAT my pants!! - Original Sheepherder Bread - 8.5/10: 100-plus year-old recipe. Tried and true. Great for sandwiches or even just toasted with whatever spread that floats your boat. Versatile and superb. Another thing to note: this place is fully staffed and they have their stuff together. So ordering and getting your stuff goes pretty fast even with the long lines. Super efficient, friendly staff and establishment. A great time was had by all.

It was proven when my brother in law who is White guy approached the counter and she said Hi to him. I love to support local business but not this one.

As a vegetarian, it's always tough to find a delicious yet plant-based breakfast burrito. We stumbled upon this spot leaving Mammoth and are so happy we did. This was HANDS DOWN the best breakfast burrito I've ever had (substituted bacon/chorizo options for the plant based jackfruit carnitas). I wish I could have this every day... super flavorful and just sooooo yummy. So happy we found Mercado- we will definitely be back! read more

Omg! I'm in love. Their food is outrageous! salsa is amazing! Red is super hot but super good. Green (mild) is more my speed. But try both. Beans, rice, tacos, tamales, you can't go wrong! Off the main Street in Bishop, this little market also sells very authentic, delicious Mexican food, elites, and fruit smoothies. They have a quaint patio for dining and reasonable prices read more
