So glad we stopped by Mammoth to OC, only bummed we didn't grab more goodies. I got the vegan chicken and carnitas tacos which were delicious. My husband grabbed the asada burrito it was great and huge portion. I also got the mulita with adobo. Wish they could be closer to home. The place is super cute, clean and staff is friendly. How is it possible that in my favorite, little town, this gem appears?? I had to travel nearly 300 miles to get the best Mexican food that I've ever eaten. The carne asada wasn't overly seasoned, was lean and cooked perfectly..their torta bread was soft..omg..just thinking about it..makes me salivate. Best breakfast burritos ever. I'm from OC and I haven't been able to find a place that makes any as good as theirs. Both the bacon and the chorizo . Everything else on the menu is bomb too. A hidden gem in Bishop that's right off the main strip. The food was great, we had the trio taco combo, carne asada burrito and cheese quesadilla. Everything was delicious and was brought out quickly! There's nice shaded patio seating right next to the restaurant. Hidden gem on side street on Bishop- fresh made to order authentic dishes- we went here twice and both times the food was outstanding. The food is seasoned to perfection and comes out hot! Amazing Mexican food in Benton. I especially recommend the chorizo mulitas. You can't go wrong!

I was visiting Bishop for the weekend and was craving some Mexican food near main street. This place popped up and we decided to give it a try. The inside is interesting, it lives up to the name perfectly as its a little market inside with fresh fruits and veggies along with mexican groceries and other typical common grocery items. They even had cast aluminum tortilla presses. For food, we ended up getting a birria plate, an avodava burrito, and a carne asada mulita. (we had no idea what this was, but figured it was worth a shot for a few bucks) I usually like burritos stuffed with extra stuff besides meat, but wasn't a huge fan of this one, though the meat was good. As for the birria and the mulita... my goodness. The birria was a massive quantity of food, and could have probably fed both of us. Most importantly it was delicious. Great flavor, great soup, and great meat. It was our first time having birria and i bet it'll be tough to find an equivalent. The mulita was equally amazing - perfectly cooked and seasoned carne asada. I have a love/hate relationship with carne asada because some places tend to underseason or overcook it, but this was absolutely perfect. Turns out a mulita is kind of like a corn tortilla quesadilla, but calling this a quesadilla wouldn't be fair because its 5x better. They throw a bunch of cheese (probably oaxcan?) along with some onions and cilantro and grill the tortilla to get some color on the outside. These were amazing and I can't wait to try making my own. The mulitas were so good that I wanted to go back and get more that same night, and I probably would have had it not been so close to their closing time. We went back the next day to get another half dozen. Highly recommend this spot if youre in Bishop and want some mexican food, you won't regret it. read more

First time having Burria and it was great. Mulitas were a little greasy but good. Tacos were great. Green salsa very good. Would have gave 5 stars but the corn we mainly went there for was not ready. It should have been ready when the doors opened so that was a disappointment. I like the patio to eat on also. read more

This business is amazing! Fair prices, delicious food, and a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. They have an indoor market with produce and other products (although I do wish the produce was organic), and a very lovely outdoor patio for eating with nice scenery and art. Excellent food.... within our group of 6 we had several different tacos, the breakfast quesadilla and the posole all of which were fantastic! I got the Carne Asada Torta with some high expectations and I was let down with some generic food that was barely even considered Mexican food but overall it was average and would probably try something else. read more

Mercado Mexico was a highlight to our stay in Bishop. We had the street tacos (carne asada, pollo and adobada) all of which were amazing!
