I love dessert and they are my favorites. So many options also. I want to eat one of each everyday. Creating a dessert menu is hard, making it perfect is also hard, and they did it all.

Bravo to Creative International Pastries!! I consider myself somewhat a cake snob. Not only do I like it to be visually stunning I also want it taste great. Rarely do the two meet with such gusto as they did this weekend in an incredible display of artistry and baking in one lucky three year old's Moana themed birthday cake. The cake was my daughter's dream come true and the highlight of her Moana themed party. It was beautifully decorated with the most enchanting of details; cascading flowers and and scattered seashells, even a sugary trail of sand to ring the bottom layer. You can tell that it was designed with a discerning attention to detail. The cake itself was delicious! It was moist and light and superbly flavorful but not overly so. The bottom layer was chocolate. I served a Susie's cake (out of convenience) during the week for my daughter's actual birthday and it was chocolate as well but it was dense and overly sugary and it was sadly overpriced as well. Not to bag on Susie's but having eaten both in the short time span left comparisons inevitable. CIP does chocolate cake right. The top layer of the Moana cake was a white cake with a mango mousse and strawberry mousse filling. Too die for. Seriously!! I was so completely pleased with this cake that I vowed to share this delight with everyone in the form of an epic love letter to CIP via Yelp. Shot out to Ruby D for puttin me up on game! This will be the go to cake spot for this cake snob now.

Someone brought their cakes to work and it was sooooo good. They were heart shaped and had a marzipan and raspberry filling. The chocolate base and encasing were rich and flavorful. Decorated beautifully.

I have been lucky enough to be working with Mary and Gerard Michler for over ten years. They have the most honest and respectable bakery I know. Not to mention, the desserts are always top notch and delicious. I've served their desserts over and over for family events, corporate parties and weddings. You can try their desserts at Jolt n Bolt Cafe

We had a big crowd surrounding us, everyone loved the lace touch.

The chocolate almond is equally addictive, and the plain croissant is pure butter perfection. The kouign-amann is also outstanding (crisp, caramelized, and not overly sweet). Everything feels carefully made and consistently excellent. Yes, there's usually a line, but it moves quickly and is 100% worth it. This is the kind of bakery that makes you understand why people wait. Highly recommend arriving early if you want the full selection.

I arrived at the bakery before it opened on a weekend morning, and there were already a couple of brave souls in line. I waited only about 25 minutes for the bakery to open, and once doors officially opened to customers, I was in and out in no time with my fresh pastries in hand. I enjoyed my almond croissant as soon as I got back home, and now I fully understand why Arsicault is at the top of everyone's SF bakery list. The almond croissant was still warm, the inside struck the perfect balance between fluffy and gooey (from the almond paste), and the exterior was nicely crisped. The almond filling is super rich and decadent yet not overly sweet. I also noticed - and appreciate - how Arsicault's almond croissant doesn't include toasted almonds on top, since these can often get over-baked and taste bitter. I definitely agree this is one of the best pastries in SF now.

I definitely feel like the team implementing the 7:45AM start time to line up has helped a lot. Not only is it better for the neighbors, but it also makes the whole experience feel a lot less chaotic compared to showing up super early and scrambling to get in line. Everything feels much calmer and organized now. As for the pastries: To be honest, it really depends on what you like. I'm one that gravitates towards pretty much anything with meat and chocolate. Because of that, most of their savory/meaty and creamy pastries are always a must for me. They're super flaky, flavorful and decadent. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making everything as high quality as possible, especially since you can see them making everything from the window while waiting in line. All in all, I think there's been a lot of improvement over the past year with some trial and error. Their pastries have always been delicious and I personally think it's worth the wait. I recommend getting to the area closer to 7:45AM so you have a better chance of being towards the front of the line. If not, it's still better to come before opening, I just wouldn't recommend getting there right before they open. By then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything you want since they do run out depending on how many people are there.

I've been here a few times and this time I remembered to take photos of the pastries before digging in! We tried the ube twice-baked croissant, ham and cheese croissant, curry potato bourek, and the spicy chicken pepper sausage croissant. Every pastry was perfectly flaky on the outside while staying soft and buttery on the inside. My favorites were the spicy chicken pepper sausage croissant and the ube twice-baked croissant. The savory pastries were packed with flavor, and the ube croissant struck the perfect balance of sweetness without being overpowering. I also love that they offer unique pastries you don't find at most bakeries. The café itself is small and cozy, and the staff were warm and friendly. It's usually packed, but we arrived at the perfect time and were able to grab everything we wanted before they sold out. We'll definitely be back to try more of their delicious pastries!

It's not much, more of a storefront with 2 tables outside but they have all the pastries. This place has the best mushroom tart ever. It has a generous amount of mushrooms but is not overpowering. All of their pastries are top of the line, fresh and flavorful with the perfect blend of ingredients. I also tried the Curry Potato Bourek and Everything Croissant which I'd recommend. I really wish they had a website where you can see the establishments where they sell the pastries. Dogpatch is kinda BFE for many people but great to stop by if you live in Portrero Hill, Mission Bay, or are doing something at UCSF or the Chase Center.

My husband got in line while I waited outside. It's on the first floor of the Japan Center Malls and easy to find in the corner. While the line was long it moved quickly and we ended up ordering two drinks and a few pastries. We had the drinks right away and I enjoyed their honeycomb toffee latte ($8.25) while my husband ordered a flavored lemonade. The Honeycomb latte wasn't overly sweet and the honeycomb on top was a nice treat. The honeycomb itself was sweet and crunchy and you can either pick it out and eat it or stir it into your drink and let it melt. The lemonade my husband ordered was on the sweeter side, but was super refreshing for summer. If you like sweet you'll like this- if you prefer less sweet or tart it may not be for you. We also brought home a few of their pastries. All of them were fresh and well made. The basque cheesecake was creamy and satisfying without being overly sweet. The chocolate chip cookie had dark chocolate and was really rich and satisfying. The last pastry I forget the name of but it was like a cinnamon roll but with an orange glaze and some cocoa powder, this one was also delicious and not overly sweet. They had some savory options that were sold out when we visited and we would definitely visit again to try those and more items from the menu. We can see why this spot is so popular.
