Fish was very similar to Ye Olde Kings Head in SM (I grew up going there for special occasions and its the gold standard for fish & chips for me), although the chips looked sparse, its because they were under the fish. Bangers & Mash was good Shepherd's pie was good although the chunks of vegetables were quite large. Desserts were really good. Good decor My only wtf moment was that the mandatory 20% tip for larger parties was calculated on the taxed total rather than the subtotal. We still tipped more because service was great, but fyi for anyone else.

The service staff were nice but they discussed religion in the middle of the main dining room which was rather discomforting. Nobody cares what you are doing for lent AT A BAR. the ambience was ghostly. It was like a desolate building. They claimed ZAGAT in 2008 and I think they're riding on rankings and delusional people who think food no better than a hospitals food is restaurant food. What a terrible restaurant. Will never return. Drinks watered down. Poor quality liquor. Go bankrupt.

So filling and delish! The Mediterranean shrimp bowl on salad instead of rice as well, comes with Cajun marinated shrimp with kale-quinoa salad, kalamata relish, avocado, pickled onions, and triple garlic aioli with a drizzle of seasoned olive oil. These 2 bowls are so rich, delicious, fresh and very filling, even with the salad! This is the first time I ordered those two bowls the only bowl I had ordered in the past was the All protein bowl. Anyway, California Fish Grill definitely never disappoints

I wish there was an option so sub the rice for salad at least because there is SO. MUCH. RICE. And it was not very flavourful. I ordered this bowl twice just to give them a really solid second chance but both times, I just ate the protein and left the rice alone. This place desparatelt needs an option to sub rice for. I think they are marketing this bowl as a protein bowl because most of the protein must come from the rice. The seafood was good.

When the EPL games are on, the whole bar is locked in and the vibe is awesome. The food is pretty standard bar food, like fries, the usual stuff. Nothing crazy but it definitely gets the job done while you're having a few drinks and watching the match. The real highlight here is the soccer atmosphere. If you're a soccer fan looking for a chill place to watch Premier League games with a crowd that actually cares about the match, this spot is perfect. The servers brought out water dishes and treats on a silver tray for the dogs- true service! I missed happy hour, but tried a themed cocktail, the onion rings, and the truffle burger. That says a lot about the staff. Our server, she was a young lady, was on top of everything and really made our time here enjoyable. I came here for happy hour on a Tuesday was surprised to find out they do $2 tacos and $5 margaritas. Let me tell you, the tacos are delicious and the margaritas are STRONG. It's a hell of a good time. I really enjoyed the chicken taco and carne asada taco. The meats were juicy and very flavorful. I also ordered their nachos, chili cheese fries and bread pudding. The nachos were made perfectly with the chips being thin and crispy. They used a couple different cheeses and the jalapeños were a nice touch. Definitely ordering it again, I can do without the chili cheese fries. It was good but it wasn't amazing. Their bread pudding was HUGE and I can see why it's one of the popular items here. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and gooey in the inside. Morrisons is definitely a fun place to be. Perfect to enjoy happy hour, catch the games on, and hang out friends. They have plenty of seating inside and outdoor with heat lamps. They are dog and kid friendly as well

No problem... except no one came to us for ever. We were maybe 1 of 4/5 tables in the place. Finally we flagged down someone who got our drinks going. Looks like he was the bartender - bar did have people too. Took awhile to get some food going as well, but we did eventually. Staff was friendly, so other than the waiting, it was a great time. We had some froses which were yummy. Wings were good and we LOVED the crab cakes, though we thought they were on the small side. Loved atmosphere and definitely will come back.

Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)
