We found bb.q Chicken on Doordash and figured we should try it out after seeing great reviews from…read moretheir other location. Location: This one's not a traditional restaurant spot, it's part of a ghost kitchen for food delivery services. It's located in a cul de sac in Bayview (industrial area). There's some parking spots which free up relatively quickly as delivery drivers pop in and out. Interior: Spacious entryway and well lit because of the large windows. 1 table with 2 chairs. They have tablets if you'd like to order from other restaurants. Head to your right where theres counter window to check in with staff for your order. They have food lockers off to the left and will give you a # to open up and pick up your well packed food (and sealed) items. Food: about $20 for 8pc, which is relatively pricey but the chicken wings and boneless wings are freshly made to order and crispy, not drenched in sauces and so flavorful! We ordered (for pick up): 1. Rose tteokbokki: delicious flavor, like a cheesy buldak ramen. Tteok (rice cake) was cooked perfectly, no soggy and have a nice chewy and cheesy bite. Had a pleasant hint of spicy (cheese helped cut the spicy). 2. Cheesy Fried Chicken Wings: I like the powder cheese and sweet bite. Not everyone's cup of tea but I really liked it. Moist and crispy. 3. Honey Garlic Fried Chicken Wings: Seemed to the most popular or recommended item from other yelp reviews from the San Bruno location so we had to try it out. If you lime garlic, this one's for you. Crispy and coated with pungent garlic. Definitely will need a mint after this one. 4. Gangman Style Boneless Wings: black pepper heavy on the flavor and it was my family's favorite. Overall, I thought everything was well packed, great flavors and relatively easy to pick up right off the 101 freeway.

Let me cut to the chase. I was kinda disappointed with this casual rotisserie chicken shop even…read morethough it comes from the team that owns Limon. In fact, I was quite forlorn having presumed this location of Limon was permanently closed. I liked the way they prepared their pollo à la brasa because the Peruvian-style chicken was consistently succulent. I'm guessing maintaining the quality and profitability of a sit-down restaurant has been economically challenging since this was not the only Limon that has closed. I was encouraged that they kept the space and reinvented it into more of a fast food/takeout operation replete with a cartoon chicken mascot and an animated mural along the northern side of the building. I came by in the middle of a weekday afternoon, so I wasn't ready to eat on the spot. I decided on a takeout order of the $21.95 Half Chicken Pollo à la Brasa with two sides. I think I overdid the starches and went with the Plantains and Yuca Fries. I only noticed afterward that I could've gotten salad or cole slaw instead. When I got home and started to eat, I was immediately disappointed that the chicken tasted overcooked with the breast piece particularly dry. That was too bad because the skin from the rotisserie had the familiar flavorful seasonings. The plantains were tasty albeit a bit oily, while I had to nuke the lukewarm yuca fries to bring them back to life (Photo 9). Next time, I'll time my arrival closer to lunch or dinner, so I can dine in-house. My hope is that the chicken will be closer to the quality level I recall from Limon. FOOD - 3 stars...sadly overcooked when I ate it at home AMBIANCE - 4 stars...the space itself is fine, much more casual SEEVICE - 3.5 stars...the staff was nice enough TOTAL - 3 stars...fast food version of Limon not quite there yet RELATED - Exploring the Mission? That…read morewas the experience I encountered while visiting this Peruvian restaurant in the iconic Mission District of San Francisco, California. From the outside, it almost goes unnoticed. No grand façade, no unnecessary pretension. But the moment you step inside, you are transported into a deeply Peruvian atmosphere. The space is filled with character. The walls are adorned with paintings and artwork that evoke the magic of Peru; vibrant Andean landscapes, cultural scenes, bold colors that tell stories of heritage and pride. It is not merely decoration; it is cultural storytelling. It is identity framed on every wall. And then there is Fabiana, the server. Her service and attention are truly exceptional. Warm, attentive, intuitive. She anticipates your needs with natural elegance and explains each dish with authenticity and pride. Her hospitality is not scripted; it is genuine. In a compact space, she creates an experience that feels personal and elevated. The cuisine itself reflects the bold and vibrant spirit of Peru; balanced acidity, freshness, depth of flavor, and beautifully defined seasoning. Each dish arrives without pretension, yet with undeniable confidence and soul. Small in size. Immense in identity. Unforgettable in service. This is not simply a restaurant you visit; it is one you remember, recommend, and return to.

Staff was still very friendly and service was fast. I would recommend if you want to find an authentic Peruvian restaurant in the Mission! 4/5 - Leche de Tigre - The fish was very fresh and had a generous portion. Highly recommend if you know this dish and love ceviche! The ceviche soup was a bit too sour for me, but I know there are some people who love the sourness and would be very satisfied with this dish!
