Stopped in for lunch after hearing about this place. Ordered a simple pan con bistec and coquito dessert. The meat in the pan con bistec was very flavorful but I would have preferred it to be slightly less tough. I had no idea what the coquito dessert was going to taste like, but looking at it, it almost resembled a candied coconut macaroon, like the Cuban version of a candied apple. Was back home visiting and my mom lives right by this spot so I gave it a try twice as it seemed to have pretty good reviews. Tried both the Frita & Cuban Guy Sandwich and both were just OK to me. There wasn't really anything that would make me come back for either of those. I will say that I normally never order steak sandwiches at Cuban places as I love my Medianoche so maybe it's just me. However, I also tried the Yuca Frita and it was also pretty bland and not crispy. My stepfather also thought the same about the food. We had a nice family dinner tonight at Cuban guys. On Mondays after 4pm they have the Pan con bistec on special. Tuesdays after 4pm the fritas are on special and on Wednesdays the Cuban bowl is on special after 4pm. Since tonight is Monday we came and enjoyed our pan con bistec. They were delicious. We put cheese on them! My daughter had the egg and cheese sandwich. She's super picky but she said it was really good as well. We washed our meal down with a delicious grape fanta. My daughter had the fruit punch. They have one of those awesome soda machines where you pick your drink and flavor. We love those. Overall it was a great experience. It's simple. I ordered the sandwich with NO CHEESE, yet the clerk or manager found it necessary to write in no American cheese. Well the sandwich cane out with American cheese. I went to pickup my order and the girl at the counter tells me that sandwich doesn't come with Cafe con Leche. Im a fan of ordering pan con bistec. This was my first time trying this place and I thought it would be amazing since pan con bistec is originally cuban. I was really let down, it seems the meat wasn't seasoned in anyway. I felt like I was eating some plain meat with not even salt on it. The fried papitas were stale as hell, the meat had no taste and on top of all of that, I had to wait an hour for the cook to finish his cellphone conversation as he took his sweet ass time to make our order. I really have to say how disappointed I am with the famous "Pan con Bistec" Cuban Guys do. It's supposed to be the best according to the media and I have to disagree with them. There are many places that do a better Pan con Bistec here in Miami. The bread was old and steak had no taste whatsoever. Maybe it looks good in this picture but it doesn't to the palette. Just got a cuban sandwich from one of their food trucks. Service was painfully slow. Many customers waiting in the hot sun for their orders were complaining about the long wait time. Two things is that I wish they added more sauce to the Frita sandwich and they have a sign that says they are fast food and they are not fast. But the employees were extremely loud non stop talking while I was trying to eat my meal with my husband on a peaceful Thursday but they were talking about their private life's outside work super loud so it was really disturbing while eating .
