I rarely give five stars, but I think this place is deserving. There is something about a hard-working, mom and pop location that provides great service quality food and a great atmosphere. If I am in town, I intend to stop at this location once again. I had the brisket and egg sandwich, which was extremely good. The breakfast potatoes were good as well. And to drink I had to blueberry Bellini which was also quite tasty. The staff was very lively and attentive. It was a pretty long wait for the food however, it was worth the wait. Ok so ran across a food review on instagram. I saw James Beard award winner and the fact that they just spritz the mimosas with OJ (which I knew my wife would absolutely appreciate). This coupled with a rainy Sunday brought us in. This place did not disappoint. Started with a mimosa for my wife, an espresso for me and the Spudnut donuts. A great start. My wife got the pancakes, and I ordered the classic French omelette. The food was great. I want to go back and try the sandwiches that look incredible as well. Really enjoyed the open look into the kitchen and pass sitting at the counter. The whole atmosphere is very cute. You order up front. They bring you your food. They have a little bar where you can get water and or condiments. Personally I didn't think the food needed anything more, and this coming from someone who loves Tabasco on his breakfast. Well, shoooooooweeeeee bud! Where could we start?? First off, wipe everything off your hard drive that you remember about the trailer, because besides the name and the flagship burger (which I'm told has been altered to fit the new vibe, and I never had one from the trailer)... we're in a whole new realm. This beautiful old house has been adorned with all sorts of peculiar and beautiful relics. From old signage, to a large map of San Antonio that came from a local architect, and a bunch of period appropriate fixtures in the bathroom... plus a lot more. A lot of love went into transforming this place and you can tell. I've been getting the cheesecake as an appetizer and it's been one of the best ideas of my adult life. I couldn't explain the layers but they're both heavenly and the berries on the side.... Mwah! I could take a bath in them. The steak and eggs is fit for an American king and is a wonderful throwback to the classic American breakfast reminiscent of 40s and 50s diners... or even up to the beloved greasy spoons of the 90s, may they Rest In Peace. My steak was a perfect medium rare and the glacé is out of control. Definitely add that and have chef explain it to you. The eggs are perrrrrrrfect and when I say perfect, I mean they're slow scrambled and luxuriously fluffy while still having tons of moisture. Straight up I'd never think to order eggs like this but they're got such a great vision of how these dishes are supposed to be that they don't even ask you how they like them... they just make them how they want and goddamnit you're gonna love them. The pancakes have CRISP edges that have a nice bite to them while remaining fluffy inside. Served with REAL butter and the cutest little maple syrup jars. The spudnuts are like a type of potato based donut?? I'm not sure I'm doing them justice with that description... but it looks like a hushpuppy covered in powdered sugar and taste like a dense funnelcake. Absolutely horny. The bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich is well balanced and filling. The bacon is thick and has a great flavor and texture while the bread and spread is soft and forgiving, and the eggs are the star player without overwhelming everything else. The potatoes are well seasoned and crispy but not overdone. On a quick side note, my favorite part over all is that they are not afraid of using salt here. On my first visit I had the burger and it was great also. Soft bun, good sauce, great tasting meat, but honestly the fries stole the show. Fries are such an afterthought for so many places... and even though fries could never outshine beef in Texas, on a technicality these ones do because they're so crispy yet still soft inside and they're perfectly savory and salty so you can't think of them as just some fried potatoes thrown in for effect. This burger and these fries are like arch enemies in a grudge match vying for your attention and adoration. So, go eat here. If you love REAL American food that's made with love, care, and attention to detail then you will not want to miss this place. read more

My husband had told me about the Attaboy burgers he remembered from years back on the strip. Thankfully we have the opportunity to try them on Mondays at Attagirl! We decided to go one slightly chilly evening for the opportunity to try as much on the pop-up menu as possible. A few notes if we will: Burger- flavorful and messy- as a burger should be but one thing was missing that disappointed me so. In every Instagram picture, a beautiful layer of pickles to grace the meaty goodness and ours was missing them. The crunch would have been an excellent texture contrast to the meat and bun softness but we will have to try it again to experience it. Pinky lady hot dog - ok. So hear me out. The hotdog was tasty, the actual meat, very flavorful and you could tell it wasn't some manufactured one. BUT I couldn't tell any flavor profile for the pink lady sauce. I opted not to add chili or cheese just to try the sauce on its own. I wish I had added something to it. Also, for the price you pay, it was a little underwhelming. But I'd still eat it again, because the hotdog portion was legit. Being that this place is popular, perhaps the price is justified in that way but I don't think I'd pay the price again personally. Chili cheese fries - damn. These were the icing on the cake. The chili wasn't your normal Texas chili. It was more of a sloppy Joe sauce and worked SO WELL. These were my fave part and I'd eat them again. Slightly spicy, meaty and just all around full of flavor. Overall, great experience! Can't knock too much for the small things. It's a great local spot, awesome beers on tap, and it's serving up local food which I'm here for. read more

Went for a quick date night with baby in tow. Had their signature burger with fries and the eggs in hollandaise sauce with greens. Everything was excellent. The burger was flavorful and juicy, the brioche bun was toasty and crisp on the edges with some type of savory sauce on it. The fries tasted fresh and were perfectly crisp and slightly salted. Very mid and not worth the price point. My husband loved his steak and eggs, but the eggs had an egregious amount of salt. I got the brisket Benedict and was extremely disappointed only having half of an English muffin but two poached eggs. Not enough bread to actually eat the poached egg as it's mainly yolk so I didn't get to eat half of the meal. Only one sliver of brisket that was too salty to swallow and not cooked properly at all. The potato's served with it was the star of the show. Chocolate latte wasn't filtered properly and espresso grounds filled the cup so every sip was grainy. We also got a cheesecake which was delicious. The cheesesteak and steak and eggs are what upped the rating from a 1 to a 3. Definitely be mindful coming here. read more

I ordered a mimosa and the eggs Benedict, my daughter ordered the truffle eggs, and my husband ordered the burger and a mimosa. $75 Mimosas were...eh. My benedict was okay--but nothing great. The truffle eggs were the best thing on the table. I really do suggest them if you are there for brunch. My husband was extremely disappointed in his burger--it only had meat and cheese. He was never asked what he wanted on it and wrongly assumed it would have toppings. If you're looking for brunch--I'd visit Attagirl or Snooze. Nothing spectacular here. Everything they do, they do exceptionally well with being simple in the best of ways yet still having great complexity. Their truffle eggs and toast are a great start with a side of escargot. For dessert a slice of their cheesecake and or the floating island is a must accompanied by a great latte. An item on their menu that needs a paragraph on its own is their burger. Like mentioned previously it has simple elements, but put together create something ethereal. I would go as far as to say that it is a top contender for the best burger in town. We had enough cash to get what we wanted, but not enough on card. I don't suggest to come here if you're a young broke person trying to taste a new cuisine for your pallet. Expect to pay a hefty price. Honestly, this should have been expected on my end. I was interested in getting the "Swell Life". I wasn't expecting the price, and he was willing to accommodate the price to a smaller sampling portion; I was already put off by the comment about my phone service so we chose to get something small, and head out as soon as possible. We didn't want to leave empty handed, because we had already felt a bit belittled. We were really wanting to at least try something. We tried the Spudnuts, and two espresso. I can honestly say I wasn't impressed. I should have expected to come with a fat wallet to get what I wanted. I was told they've only been open so far for about a month, but the environment and food is fantastic, even the drip coffee was delicious. We were really looking forward to this opening because we love Cullums Attagirl. However the food was very disappointing. I had the eggs Benedict which was very bland and gummy, served on a small disk of very hard and dry something, maybe an attempt of an english muffin. The home fries were overcooked, hard and dry with no seasoning. My boyfriend had the brisket and egg sandwich and he wasn't impressed either. They're attempting to do a higher end brunch but are just slightly missing the mark.
