Pretty good spot. Came here for a business lunch a few weeks ago. Overall the service was top notch and the food was actually really good. Glad it wasn't on my dime, lol. They do serve a nice cheese pastry roll up front. The server had suggested the Chili 'Dan Dan' Chicken Dumplings appetizer. The sauce was perfect in flavor as was the texture. Highly recommend. For sides we shared some Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Cavatappi Pasta "Mac and Cheese". Both of these were done very well. The Brussels were very flavorful. I'd get that one again for sure. I ended up getting the 'Butcher's Butter' Steak Salad. It wasn't really much of a salad and you had to build the salad yourself. For $30, it wasn't my favorite and I would avoid. read more

CUT by Wolfgang Puck at the Four Seasons Hotel in FiDi is a branch of the Michelin-starred original in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. While the NY version of CUT is very good, it has never hit the culinary or celeb hangout levels of it's West Coast parent. We prefer to skip the half empty formal dining room and instead eat in the more casual bar where you can get both the bar and the full dining room menu. It is also livelier. read more

Newly married, my husband and I decided to come here to celebrate. The food was phenomenal, the service was amazing. The only disappointment we had was that we had noted on our reservation that we were coming there to celebrate because we just got married and they didn't do anything special for us. I know it sounds a little bit extra, but for $350 that we spent we were hoping maybe a glass of champagne or a glass of wine on the house to celebrate our special evening. To add to that, the couple that got seated after us directly across from us got glasses of what looked like rosé on the house for their celebration. My husband brought it up to the manager and she gave us some cookies to take home, but it did kind of put a slight damper on the night considering it's a pretty big deal that we just got married a week ago and we wanted to spend our special celebration night there. Amazing. Most of their steaks and chicken are from Creekstone farms which is great for all the halal eaters wanting fine dining. My husband and I ordered the dry aged porterhouse, medium, and it was cooked to perfection. They bring it out and carve it tableside. Service is amazing and they are so accommodating. Knowing we ate halal they went out of their way to inform us of menu items that contained alcohol and respectfully offered mocktails. Haven't experienced this yet at any other fine dining establishments and truly appreciated it! Deff recommend for a special night out. read more

Made reservations for my fiancé and I. We arrived and were seated right away. Despite it being a Saturday evening it didn't get busy until about 7:30ish. Our reservations were for 6:30pm. Our waiter was super helpful with recommendations whilst being humorous as well. The food was memorable, we were lucky to have visited when there were still off menu items being offered (thanks to Wolfgang having paid a visit the same week). I had the Tuna Tartar and Sashimi which were both fresh and soooo pleasing to my buds haha. I also had one of the special items whose name I cannot recall nor would have been able to pronounce & type but it was steak with thin fried onion rings. Comfortable, Classy curbside dining in the heart of lower Manhattan this crew went to extraordinary lengths to make our outdoor dining experience truly incredible. The steaks we ordered were the Fillet Mignon and 35 day aged Ribeye which were what We can only describe as possibly the best steaks We have ever had! Our meal was Complemented by an extensive wine list to match any sophisticated palet which included some of my all time favorite Australia Red wines. The sommelier was incredibly well versed on his knowledge and recommendations for pairing. The GM George and his team delivered impeccable service which they should be commended on. This review is based on my experience with their restaurant week menu. For appetizer, I got the corn tortelloni. I am a fan as I liked corn. As I cut the tortellonis, the filling often exploded which was satisfying to watch. The sauce was buttery and I really cleaned the plate. Unfortunately, the portion was rather small. I counted only five tortellonis. Given that it is a steakhouse from the notable Wolfgang Puck, I expected that they won't mess up my sirloin order. In fact, they screwed up all 5 orders. My medium rare looked like medium while my friend's medium looked rarer than mine. I had to exchange with her. My other friend's medium well looked like medium. My meat was not juicy and bland. The sauces (chimichurri and purree) helped to compensate for its blandness as they were seasoned well. All five of us were disappointed with the meat. Even I can cook better than that. Luckily the dessert was a saver. I chose morello cherry & black plumb 'crumble' which I enjoyed, particularly on the ice cream. CUT, better up your game. read more

Bread was good; heirloom tomato with herbed farmer's cheese appetizer was delicious -- tomatoes were extremely fresh and tasty; and the skate was delicious - with yummy accompaniments. My friends enjoyed their steak mains and the tortellini appetizer. Only dish we didn't love was the strawberry doughnuts. They were not warm and were not sweet enough. It's a steakhouse, but still, they only had 3 seafood entree options, which isn't much at all compared to other steakhouses. The food was cooked perfectly and great wine selection. Over the years, I had heard such amazing things about Wolfgang Puck's CUT in Los Angeles, so I was thrilled when it opened in Manhattan. I had loved his food at Spago and was eager to sample his steaks as well. Sadly, my experience wound up being a mixed bag. The beautiful space had sprawling ceilings and a masculine vibe with dim lighting and dark furnishings - perfect for the Wall Street dinner meetings that were taking place around us. However, unlike many of the classic steakhouses, CUT had a modern feel and spunky rock music playing in the background. We were escorted to our table and greeted immediately with an inquiry of our water preference. From there, two different servers took turns trying to take our order, without really giving us time to process the offerings. While we tried to rush our decision-making, we indulged in small, cheesy popovers that were packed with cheddar flavor. We finally placed our order and were gifted with an elegant bread display, including roasted onion focaccia, za'tar flatbread, white artisan, and salty pretzel rolls. While the boring, crusty white bread was a bit stale, the other varieties were fabulous! At this point, I had still not ordered my glass of wine, since I had prioritized my food selection, but all of the servers neglected to come back to take my request. They passed our table several times, without making eye contact or responding to my "Excuse me" inquiries. I was on the verge of skipping the glass entirely when someone, who might have been the sommelier, finally noticed that the wine list was still sitting on our table and asked if we would like anything. We both ordered glasses of the Tempranillo from the Rioja region of Spain, which was as ripe with fruit flavor as the man had described. Though I finally had my glass of red, I needed to pace my sips as much as possible, since our food did not arrive for another 20-30 minutes, which was completely absurd! The restaurant was not even that crowded! Our frustration and anger quickly dissipated when we cut into our perfectly cooked, 8 oz. Petit Filet Mignons. We both agreed that these were some of, if not THE, best steaks we had ever had. Our knives first sliced through the expertly crisp exteriors and then slid easily down into the medium-prepared filets, making our mouths water in anticipation. The corn-fed beef was USDA Prime, Kansas-sourced, aged 21 days, and grilled over hard, white oak and mesquite charcoal. Each bite was better than the last, leaving the taste of this succulent meat to tease our palates, even hours after leaving the restaurant. Though we had not ordered a separate sauce for the steak, the restaurant offered complimentary grape must, Dijon, and stone-ground mustards, which we did not even want or need. We did, however, spread some of the bread-accompanying onion butter on the beef, which was a terrific compliment. In addition, we shared a side of Swiss Chard, which was commingled with some Baby Spinach and Tuscan Kale, all roasted in garlic. The greens were flavorful and not as oily as those I had had from other spots. We were stuffed after this substantial meal, so we opted not to indulge in dessert. However, the restaurant would not let us leave without something sweet, so they presented us with a chocolate truffle and a tiny lemon square. Both were fine, but not memorable, and I was not thrilled that we were only given one of each, causing us to share the bite-sized morsels. Our CUT adventure involved spectacular food, but was muddled by inefficient, sub-par service that would not make Chef Puck proud. We chose this place to celebrate a co-workers birthday. The staff were again highly professional and friendly. They were kind enough to have a birthday card on the table and took their time to explain a lot of the dishes. The food once again was fantastic. They served small bite size pieces of warm bread with cheese. They then brought out another bread dish. The variety of bread was great. They had pretzel bread, a thin garlic bread, etc. Our group had several dishes: cheeseburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. The cheeseburger will not disappoint, it's very flavorful and juicy. The fries were cooked perfectly. The lunch ended with the restaurant serving two birthday desserts on the house. They were delicious. The first one was chocolate sorbet on top of lychee rose sorbet. Not too sweet but not bitter, perfect balance of flavors. The second dessert was a cheesecake with happy birthday artistically frizzed on the plate. The bites were small enough everyone had the opportunity to get a piece. The second dish was fantastic. The only let down was the sweet corn. I was hoping to get the same exact dish they served during restaurant week (sweet corn with arugula in a garlic balsamic dressing). While the sweet corn on the existing menu is good, it does not hold a candle to the one served at restaurant week. Overall I highly recommend this place to anyone. Usually I'm not so much a fan of Wolfgang Puck. It seems through the year, he had sold himself short by labeling his name on any products or restaurants that's willing to give him a cut (no pun intended) for the use of his name. I was proven wrong when I came here last night for dinner and was immediately taken back by how beautiful and sleek this restaurant is. I absolutely loved the high ceiling and the testosterone infused decor that help set a strong tone to the establishment. As for the bar area, it had a cool 80's inspired designed with radiant neon lights that complimented the restaurant instead of disgracing it. We sat in the oval room and the gold accent really made everything felt fancy. To really try as many dishes as possible, my friend and I share dishes and everything was on point. I enjoyed their buttered lettuce salad. It was airy with a hint of gorgonzola cheese to tide in the sweetness and sourness of the dressing. Their pumpkin tortellini was also very delicious. The temperature inside the filling was still pipping hot (how I like it) while the texture and flavor was creamy and light. As for their entree, we shared a 35 days aged sirloin and a 28 days aged filet mignon. Both steak were fired medium and the meat itself was nice and tender. As for their dessert, I wasn't too crazy about it. It was a Baked Alaska (chocolate covered torch marshmallow ice cream) and nothing about it seems interesting, where it almost reminded me of the classic cake from Carvel. Overall, I've been to enough steakhouses in my life to say this is one steakhouse that I would recommend, esp because of it's location and decor. read more

Mixed feelings about the place. Came here for restaurant week as they were offering a 3 course lunch prix fixe for $29, which seemed too good to be true for the CUT. Was it? Yes, definitely too good to be true. It was overall still a good deal and may be a good pick for Restaurant Week if you've always wanted to try this place, but it was definitely not a representative meal of what the CUT can do. Firstly, they refused to serve us bread because we were RW diners. Um, WTF? I found this to be totally ridiculous. Bread isn't that expensive, and way to reinforce that RW diners are essentially second class citizens. I still maintain the whole point of RW is to draw in people who may not be interested in committing to a $180 steak to sample the restaurant and then entice them into coming back. Definitely do not want to return to a place that wouldn't give me bread! Onto the food I DID receive. For appetizers, I got the white corn tortelloni and my friend tried the tomato salad. Portions were small throughout the meal, which I was fine with. The appetizers were very fresh and tasty, particularly the tortelloni. I only wish there were more than 5 tortellonis! For dessert we both got the plum crumble with ice cream which I also liked - sweet and tart. Sadly, the steak here did NOT shine. The RW menu comes with a small piece of the American cap steak (the only option if you want beef) and it was just pretty poor quality meat. I suppose the piece itself was well cooked, but the quality was just way too sub par. This is a shame particularly when there are numerous steakhouses that participate in NYC restaurant week that will give you a good portion of their normal fare at a discount. In sum, a good deal for $29 considering how pricey their food is normally, but you really get a sh*tty version of their steak, and they'll refuse to serve you complimentary bread. The steak came medium when I ordered it medium rare but it was still really good (I suspect they entered the order wrong given the service issue, not that they cooked it wrong). The house steak sauce and Armagnac peppercorn sauce was great. Loved the date cake with coconut ice cream. Shrimp were extra large with excellent cocktail sauce that had fresh horseradish, etc - only good stuff to say about the food. The service though... slow, even at the bar. Bartenders not attentive and they couldn't really talk about the steaks. Also, for some reason the bar area was extremely cold... like it was uncomfortable and made me want to leave. Not sure why - unclear if for some reason they had the AC blasting on a cold night or some window or door was open... regardless, it was uncomfortable. And no hooks under the bar to hang jackets and the foot rest below the bar was flimsy. Could easily be 5 stars if the service was better and they fixed these relatively minor issues. read more

I had the steak sandwich, and my friend had the quail with ginger sauce. Both were absolutely delicious and flavorful. The flavors burst in your mouth, with your taste buds doing a happy dance. The butter lettuce salad was fresh, crispy, and tasty. And the Apple Crumble dessert was so amazing. There was hardly any talking happening between my friend and I when our food was being eaten. That's a sign that it was that good. The service: The service was great. They were very friendly and attentive. Things don't come out like fast food, but this is fine dining. They value quality - even if it takes a few extra minutes. But I didn't notice any long waits for food at all. I think the service did the namesake justice. Our waiter was awesome and so friendly. This didn't "cut" it. Beautiful place, nice location if you are downtown, or in TriBeCa. Food was surprisingly mediocre. 8 oz filet was overlooked and a little tough, overly charred on the outside without much flavor. Spinach was really heavy handed with garlic. Salad and appetizers were the high points. And the service was excellent - very nice staff. But overall, this was not up to par. My party and I came here for dinner on a Thursday night with a reservation but still had to wait a while for our table as the last seating had not left. The interior was dark without enough spot lights so reading the menu was difficult. The service was generally attentive but I wish the food was better. We ordered the prawns main as an appetizer to share. These were pretty good but I wished these tasted more fresh. For our mains, we got a sirloin and ribeye to share. The steaks were alright but not as flavorful as I had expected. They were also a bit dry. For sides, we got the truffle fries and broccolini. The broccolini was really flavorful - they were the best thing I had all night! The truffle fries were a bit disappointing however since we couldn't taste much of the truffle flavor and felt it was overpriced for a side (+$20). My dinner experience here was unmemorable so I probably won't come back. In sum, I would not recommend coming here for steaks. read more

To all my halal eaters they offer Creekstone steaks (minus the wagyu beef) and halal chicken. With that being said the service/ambience was good. However the meat of my concern would be the ... meat and sides/dessert. The steaks are exorbitantly overpriced, cooked ok but without much seasoning, with no specialty butter available.
