WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. INHUMANE, UNCARING, HEARTLESS PHARMACY STAFF. I had a painful operation 3 weeks ago. My first pain med prescription they said they couldn't fill for a whole week because it wasn't in stock, they don't keep it in stock. They said I could call around to other pharmacies to see if they have it. So I called other pharmacies and learned they won't tell you if they have it in stock. So I called back and told them that. The clerk said, oh no, they won't tell you that. So they said again , it will be in in a week, due to Christmas. I thought about it and called back later to see if there was some other choice, as I was afraid to get into pain, and my doctor's office is hard to get ahold of. The pharmacist I spoke to, the one and only one who has a heart, said he found some in the safe after all and filled the Rx. I asked my doctor not to electronically submit my next Rx to CVS, and gave her another pharmacy. She sent it to CVS anyway. That was on 12/28. Because of New Years Day, they told me they couldn't get it in until Wed or Thurs. Then I got a call and was told it would be Thurs or Friday. Not in on Thursday, so they said they get their shipment on Friday at 11 am. When that came they said, no, 3 or 4, and by the way, we won't be able to fill it anyway because we need more information from your doctor. I asked why we're only talking about that now, and the pharmacist was very rude, told me I should go to an emergency room if I was in so much pain, told me I was taking up too much of her time, and hung up on me. So here I am really n January 5, still with no pain med prescription that was submitted on December 28th. If I could give zero stars I would. Everyone who answers the phone has a different story and a very uncaring attitude, and sometimes blatantly rude. I wish I had gotten the name of the one and only pharmacist who was caring , courteous, and professional. I guess this one star goes out to him. read more

I miss SavOn. I'm glad that CVS is making the outside look nicer by putting up some wood siding to cover the ugly industrial concrete. But the short shelves and cockamamie placement of the cash registers just bug me. (That's how you spell "cockamamie." I looked it up.) This place has never been easy to get in and out of unless you're walking. The elevator in the parking garage takes an eternity, and everyone is always confused about which level the store is on and where their cars are parked. The store is ok but the parking is a mess, the garage is above and below the store the architect must have hot the pot shop across the street before coming up with the design.. The garage always smells like piss, its as if all the homeless people congregate there every night and pee on the elevator, why a pharmacy which is supposed to convey a sense of health would allow their entrance (elevator) to smell like a cesspool is beyond comprehension.. read more

Anyone who knows me knows I spend half my life in the pharmacy so pharmacy reviews are pretty important to me. My past experiences with CVS pharmacies would all be a NEGATIVE 3 stars so this is pretty good in comparison. Normally I end up needing more psych meds leaving than I go in picking up after I leave a CVS which is why I happily switched to the Walgreens on Beverly Glen & Olympic- if you are near there, the service & pharmacy staff is excellent. While the line can sometimes be long, they don't dick around, they get everyone through fast and with a smile and with zero mistakes. However when I moved to WeHo I found that this CVS was just most convenient and that maybe it was just my old CVS in Westwood that was literally hell on earth. Now THOSE employees are miserable, suicidal, and also homicidal. Trust me this CVS is like the Ritz Carlton compared to that hellhole. For this CVS, I have learned the trick- they close at 11 which is awesome- so go pick up your meds at 10:30. There's never a line, call ahead and make sure your stuff is ready, and you'll be just fine. I haven't had an experience where the pharmacist or pharm assistant was a psycho- they were fast and got me what I needed. Had script for narcotic took one look at me said let me check about less than a minute later sorry we don't have that. No we'll have it in a week. No we can fill it just a no. Seriously? As bad as ever with the pharmacy. Thought App would be better. Made worse. 1. Always not prepared with due refills 2. Line to pick up TAKES FOREVER. Three registers, but 99% of time ONE CASHIER at pharm pickup. 3. Pharmacist will lie and say "out of stock" rather than doing the work to find a refill the app said is filled and ready to pickup. Tip to CVS - if nothing else, MORE STAFF AT PHARM REGISTERS! Each order takes a long time to ring up with all the register, computer, ID check, the whole credit/debit that has extra screens per pharmacy requirements. read more

WOW! I stopped patronizing this pharmacy many years ago but on Sunday I was brunching at my favorite restaurant in all of WeHo (WeHo Bistro) right next door and since I had some time to kill and a prescription that needed to be filled I decided to give it another go. BIG MISTAKE! I stood in the wrong line so I had to go stand in another line to drop it off. The pharmacist pointed out something on the prescription that the doctor had written over and said they had to call her office to verify it. My instinct was to take the prescription back and go somewhere else but as usual, I don't listen to my first instinct so I said okay and left it there. I never said I was smart. Surprisingly on Monday morning, without having to call, them I got a text saying that they'd verified it with the doctor and were filling it! An hour or so later I got another text asking me to click on the link they sent and scan the front and back of my insurance card, which I did. So far, so good. I didn't hear back from them the rest of the day so I called on Tuesday to ask what the status was. After 5 minutes on hold I finally got a person who told me that it was ready. Today is Wednesday and I received a very abrupt text telling me it was ready and "Pls pick it up". I went and stood in the pick up line for a bit (where the very chatty pharmacist had a lovely 5 minute discussion about nothing in particular with a gentleman that had already been helped) and when it was my turn the woman told me they needed to have my insurance card which I had texted to them over 48 hours earlier. She directed me to the "Consultation" window where I had to to stand in line again. Finally I got to the head of the line and a different woman took my insurance card and the she told me to go sit and wait while they got the prescription ready! They finally called my name and I went to the pick up window again where yet another woman brought it and started to ring it up. She saw that I had another item in my basket and offered to ring that up as well, which was a nice surprise. She asked me if I was familiar with that particular med and I told I was but she directed me back to the consultation window where I stood in line again. I was super annoyed by now. When I got back up to the consultation counter that woman then wanted to tell me all about the meds so once again I had to tell someone that I know about them. To end this tale of frustration I realized, as I was leaving the store, that the pharmacy idiot who rang up the other item charged me full price which was $6 higher than the sale price so I had to go stand in the regular store line to get that credited back to me. NEVER AGAIN will I go to that shit show of a pharmacy. Oh, and just BTW, they have at least 7 to 8 people milling around behind the counter, talking and shooting the breeze while just a few people help customers. No wonder they have long lines. read more

Ugh this place sucks..... and when I say it sucks IT SUCKS ASS. Firstly the idiotic layout of the place, the elevator to the different parking levels takes forever and is an absolute state. Do they ever even bother to actually clean it? A couple of hundred bucks cleaning it / replacing the broken light fixtures would do them the world of good as I would say most of their customer traffic comes through it. I hear this place was actually a roller rink in the 70's, perhaps that's why the interface between the parking lot and the store is so bad, it was never designed to handle people coming in constantly all day. Trying to call this place is a joke too, I spent 30 mins on hold in the past just waiting and waiting and waiting to speak to someone in the pharmacy. I understand they are busy but being made to wait that long is ridiculous. I concur with Issac below on the rudeness, the people at the pharmacy all look like they would rather be anywhere else than working there. Absolutely miserable. The other counter staff seem to be OK though, as Issac also says. I've moved my prescription away from here to a pharmacy close to my work as I hate going in here so much, and this place is around the corner from where I live! read more

I don't understand where their "other parking lot" is, or how to get there. Rude people work here. I ask "where is ___", they say "over there somewhere". When I *had* to buy cigarettes, the cashier said to me "does your mother know you smoke?"... I'm in my mid twenties, and I look it. I'm allowed to buy cigarettes with out my mother being brought into this... I rather just go to the Pavilions even though it's a tad more expensive. read more

I love coming to this CVS. The parking is never a big issue for me. The minute I pull in, boom, there is parking space. Maybe it works out perfect for me because I come in 9pm or 10pm to get my ish. I have never ran into homeless people like at the CVS on sunset blvd. This CVS always has everything I want. The staff is nice. They don't mess with you. The security guard is cool. The only downside is that damn elevator which they have fixed. Because before it was this old busted ass elevator that was slowwwwwwwwwww!!!! Having been to this location many times because it is near my house and I loved walking there, I am sad to say, I will now be getting in my car and driving to the location on Beverly Blvd. There is always something going on with the elevator, and my last visit I was stuck in the elevator for about 5 min. I usually go here for printing pictures, and the machines are either broken or have problems while I am there, so I end up having to go somewhere else anyway. Did run in the other day to pick up some envelopes, took the stairs and all went well. read more

Worst Pharmacy! I've been going to this pharmacy because of its convenient location but I've had it. I called last week to ask the pharmacist a question about my RX and he was short and rude on the phone. When my mother went in to pick it up they were rude to her too. I have been coming to this pharmacy for a decade, filling prescriptions without problems and treated well as a long term community customer should be. Apparently the pharmacy staff had changed unfortunately and I not once but multiple times was treated with extreme rudeness by pharmacist Joann. I was declined medication that I had been taking for years. Total lack of empathy towards sick patients and a negative attitude that you could not forget. So disappointing experiencing this from the people that have been granted a license to serve the community and outrageous when they play doctor ( this woman was told my md MD to fill my prescription and this woman disagreed with my diagnosis and treatment and dishonored my doctors orders) she should not only be fired, but placed in jail for interfering with patient care and my pursuit to recovery read more

We went for a Flu Shot at CVS at Santa Monica LaCienega in West Hollywood. Now I can understand that there is construction going on & there are some inconveniences associated with this, but I cannot accept over an inch of dust & debris in the 6 foot "Minute Clinic" cubicle where we were assigned to wait & then receive our shots. You couldn't breathe in there, so I waited outside. It was unsanitary, & when I complained to the pharmicist/medical tech person giving the shot she dismissed the unsanitary conditions as perfectly acceptable. Let me point out, if you can't take 2 minutes to clean a small area that in most businesses are quite sanitary, if not sterile, you should be Shut Down. So I strongly recommend you go to Rite Aid or Pavilions this year for your Flu Shots!!! read more

This store has come a long way! The best service by far of any CVS within 14 miles! Its the perfect size and has so many amenities! Suzanne, Dan and Joselyn are the best! The pharmacy TEAM busts their back to keep the lines going and fill the scripts! Casey, Bryan and Smyth are so polite and fast! The entire store is clean and organized. Get a CVS Card and Save money! A day after my physician had called in my prescription, I phoned this pharmacy only to discover they had no record of it. His office then called it in again, faxed twice, yet when I phoned I was again told there was no record. (We were using the same number.) The office called once more, but again no record. The office called one more time getting names to help me double check. I called back and this time was reprimanded for calling too soon after the physician's office. I tried to speak, to give my new insurance, but was treated like a child, told to be quiet, imperiously dismissed and cut off. I decided to go elsewhere. This is not the first time they have been problems with the pharmacy at CVS 8491 Santa Monica Blvd. Go to Rite Aid. Couldn't be more helpful, more considerate, respectful. No incompetence, no abuse. Another frustrating and fruitless badge experience with this pharmacy. This time the pharmacist wanted to be important and superior by not processing my re authorization request because of Hippa requirements. Never mind that the patient herself was with me at the time and identified herself as such with her date of birth. I told her that I had never had a problem with refilling or reauthorizing medications from the Arbor other pharmacist by the name of Harry that works there. She would not healed. She did not offer to connect me with him. She did not ask for any other identifying information regarding perhaps maybe the doctors and TI or DEA number both of which I have. She would not accept any of those data points because my number was blocked. Please please please to not do business with S pharmacy. Harry is OK. I don't know about the rest of the people that work here. This female person that I can't even verify was an actual pharmacist is not it. She also kept saying the reason that my request could not be processed was that because my number was blocked. This is not relevant. Whether or not I'm calling from Cedar Sinai medical center or Kaiser Permanente urgent care does not authorize me to reauthorize or refill a patient's medication if that patient is not my patient. I hope the pharmacist that I spoke to can be identified so that she can be educated on what Hippa is 4. Hint calling it is not to delay medication requests by patients nurses when that patient is next to the nurse making the request. read more

I feel like this store gets a bad rap, but overall when you think about the location, and the fact that it has parking- it's pretty decent. It's a CVS so it has whatever random item you might need and all the other stuff you can expect. Plus they have a really good wine and liquor selection. This place is clean, bright and well-organized. I'm all about the extra Bucks I earn regularly, although I am not usually a coupon kind of guy. But who can refuse free money? The self-checkouts took a while for me to get used to and now it's the only way I want to check out. They also fill your prescriptions quickly (about 15 minutes when you're waiting). read more
