I absolutely love their cheese pizza. Hands down my favorite in the area. The cheese to sauce ratio is perfect and the crust is just thick enough to fold in half and not be too crunchy or too soggy. I always appreciated there pizza, the Nonna slice is a nice bite of thin crust with melted cheese and herby sauce. For dinner I had linguine Alla Rosa. It was a healthy portion of; chicken, sausage, baby spinach and fresh mozzarella melted in a creamy pink sauce. It was as good as it sounds, with melty mozzarella adherent to every fork full of pasta. I am always impressed with the service and selection at this place. Da Nonna is a welcome replacement, as the dim-lit ambience of Mack's wasn't much of a hit in the slope. Great gelato and pizza by the slice in the front, and full restaurant in the back. I actually prefer the space upstairs the most, as there is a large space for catered events as well as a full bar with a TV. The staff is friendly and attentive, which doesn't come cheap in the slope. read more

We wanted to take a few minutes to thank Frank and the staff of Da Nonna Rosa. We had a surprise birthday party for our 17 year old daughter last week. It was perfect. Frank had assigned Omar and Joe to coordinate everything at the party. They were both extremely helpful, pleasant and professional, with the kids(teenagers) and great with us. Because it was a party with teenagers, I was concerned about the number of kids showing up. I didn't want to over-order or under-order the amount of food. Frank offered us suggestions that worked and allowed us to keep the cost under control. They allowed us to use their sound system, they set the room up very nice and allowed us to decorate at our discretion. The room looked beautiful, the food was excellent. Everyone had a great time. We had about 30 people at the party. The space could easily fit 60-80 people if necessary. We highly recommend this venue for just about any type of event. I'm thinking of having a few of our business meetings here. I can't thank them enough!!! read more

I moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and was looking for my go to pizza spot and this is it! My regular order is the Nonna Traditional NY Style pie - simple but delicious. Thin, crispy and somehow still just the right amount of chewy too. I always pick up bc I live just a few blocks away and it's always ready exactly when they say it will be - I've never had to wait. The team that works there is always friendly and provide excellent customer service. I was also warmed to hear of their participation in helping to feed the staff at the nearby Methodist hospital (donated pies) true community partners who are stepping up during this difficult/uncertain time. The food here is pretty good Italian food. Unfortunately in NY there is a lot of Italian competition. They're pizzas are really good especially their BBQ chicken. I recently went with my wife for dinner. The dinner started out great with prompt service but there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant and as a dinner crowd slowly showed up, the service steadily declined. It went to the point where we waited almost 15 minutes just for our check. She was very nice. But just overworked. Overall, pretty good food. Not worth the wait though given service. read more

It was pretty good. Got delivery during quarantine. Lasagne was good, but i thought the ricotta seemed dry, if that even makes sense . Husband got chicken roll, said it was good, but that our local (normal) pizzeria's was better, and a fraction of the price. We also ordered stuffed mushrooms, which were also good, but i like my own homemade better!! I did like that they were basically stuffed with a cheese/herb/breadcrumb mixture, and fairly plain fir the pickier types (like me- no seafiod or sausage in the stuffing--yesss!!) also ordered garlic knots, but they did not arrive, however, 2 seasoned warm mini bread loaves were in the bag. I really jacked up the total by also having a bottle of merlot delivered. All in all, pretty good, but our local pizza joint (Mark's Red Hook-also on Seamless) is still better and way more affordable, but no alcohol. My grandmother ordered a chicken entree and when the plate arrived there was no chicken! They forgot to make the main part of the dish! Da Nona Rosa is our go to for local Italian food. We have celebrated family dinners, date night, and even a wedding (upstairs they have a space that can accommodate events). The staff is friendly and very accommodating! Everything I have tried here has been delicious- from the hearty salads to the pasta/meat dishes to dessert- not one has fallen short of amazing! I couldn't leave a review without mentioning their pizza. Aside from all of your standard pies, they carry the best gluten free salad pizza! The restaurant called me after I placed the order and asked if I wanted them to put the sauce on the side (to keep the wings crispy!). The wings were super crispy when they were delivered (which is very rare for delivery fried wings) -- bravo! The pizza is probably the best pizza I have had in the 1.5 years I have lived in NYC. This place is incredibly over priced and the food is below average. In some areas, this place would be decent. But in Park Slope in a prime location, it feels like the T.G.I. Fridays version of an Italian Restaurant and in some ways doesn't justify it's location. The pizza plain slices are below average and skimpy (and overpriced), and the pasta is mealy and also below average or average at best and also overpriced. The ambience of this place combined with the location are the reason this place is always packed. With all respect, when I walk by on a Friday or Saturday night, there are massive crowds of people outside dressed to the nines as if they were going out to eat at the Copacabana in Goodfellas. I mean i am talking families of 8 and groups of 10 or more. I am convinced that most of the people who come here live in Windsor Terrace or past 10th street in Park Slope. If you look in, the patrons are not typical Park Slope residents. Again, my point is, the ambience is fantastic and it feels like an old-school Italian restaurant, but the food is nowhere near good. They are friendly and warm but the food doesn't match their prices and the quality of food is average at best. On a side note, if you want a great Italian restaurant, go to La Villa which is on 5th avenue around 1st street (only 2 long blocks from Nonna Rosa). La Villa is so much better as an upscale Italian restaurant it is not even funny. I believe Nonna Rosa and La Villa have the same owner, but PLEASE go to La Villa over this place if given the option. La Villa is the best Italian restaurant in New York City if you ask me. If you simply want great pizza, go to Antonio's on 7th Avenue and Flatbush. Da Nonna Rosa has everything going for it except quality food and the prices are astronomical for what you are getting. read more
