It had been 30 minutes I called to check on my order the lady who answered was rude and not helpful at all. She told me the only way to order was through there website and so I did. Then it still took another 40 minutes, I went into the restaurant she was the one at the pickup counter, she has dreads and big gold earrings. She did not want to help me at all and said my food was not there. Even had the audacity to ask me if I was the one who had called and asked about my order like she was threatening me or going to tell me off. Decided to try this place since they have good reviews but I will never give them any of my money. Do not give these people your business you will regret it. My family and I tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. The cabbage was not cooked fully and had absolutely no seasoning. The macaroni and cheese was watery, runny and was flavorless. Honestly boxed macaroni and cheese tastes better than what they gave us. The yams were just alright. There was no meat on the oxtails only fat. I got the hot wings (honey BBQ) and fried pickles: meaty and crispy even though they were nicely coated in sauce, and the fried pickles stayed crunchy right down to the bottom of the basket. My Pina/margarita/mango combo Daiquiri was a frozen treat to wash it all down with. In case you don't know: while there are only about 10-flavors ready to go (see pictures of the wall of frozen Ds) you can mix and match (they have recommendations) so the possibilities are endless. Initially, I felt I was underdressed wearing blue jean shorts and no make up, but I went in anyway. I'm glad I did. In 1 year, this location will be a prime spot, but at the moment, not so much. Anyways, parking can be slightly limited. When I walked in, it reminded me of a casino. It had a ominous feel to it. It was 6pm (still light out), but when you are inside, you have no idea what time it is outside. There was only one couple occupying a bar table and another lady sampling flavors. The employee immediately acknowledged me. While waiting, I looked at their temporary flavors (they change weekly) and I noticed they had a flavor I get at another daquiri shop which was called "the hulk". I was hoping it didn't mimic the flavor and luckily it didn't. It was sweeter with more of a citrus aspect to it. I got a personal mixed with blue hawaiian and hulk. When she poured it, the flavors immediately blended together which kinda sucked because I wanted to enjoy them separately. No biggie. After I got the kiddos asleep and Netflix was calling my name, I partook in my yummy decently priced daquiri ($7). Even though, it was VERY sweet, I think I'd go there again. We came here to get food- weird, I know. Definitely wanted to get a drink once we were inside but we were making drinks at home so maybe we'll go today since this place looked POPULAR and a good time. We made a large food order for pickup and everyone was very happy. The only downsides were that it was on a buffet line and looked unappetizing and that it was late even though it was on a buffet line, and the ordering online makes things a little too custom? (Nothing wrong with that, I just know that from behind the counter, it makes things too confusing so your order's more likely to be wrong.) But I'm not mad. It didn't look good but it tasted AMAZING and it was late but it was a BIG order- just because you schedule it for pickup in 20 minutes if you have a big order and they're short staffed they can only do so much I get it, also the people helping me out were very nice. We got sides, burger (forgot the cheese but it was so good they didn't need the cheese), beef tips, smothered pork chops. No one had any complaints and the portions were good. Everything was really well seasoned. Collard greens were tender, sweet (not my thing but still so good), I've had a lot of collard greens and these were the best. Only reason I am leaving 3 stars is because the greens definitely tasted like canned greens and them trying to add seasoning to it doesn't change the fact it's still canned greens.
