Gang Dang Red Curry Braised Duck
    Jeff C.

Had a great meal here. Inside is modern and simple. There's a decent amount of seating but it's best for couples or small groups. The food is great. A somewhat elevated take on Thai food. Everything was delicious. Only complaint is portions could be bigger. My favs of what we ordered were the Drunken Mama Noodles Grilled Beef and Gang Dang Red Curry Braised Duck. The Khao Pad Blue Crab rice was good too with nice chunks of crab, it just needed some chili sauce for my taste. We came on a packed Friday night so there was a long wait. Maybe come during lunch or on a weeknight to avoid the long wait. Service was great. Very friendly staff. There's a pay parking structure nearby or you can try to find street parking within a block or two.

Stumbled upon Dalah and was intrigued by its modern but authentic take on classic Thái dishes! They have been open less than 2 months and already a line is forming!!! People are telling their friends and through word of mouth, Dalah is already getting the recognition they deserve!! We came to celebrate a birthday and it was perfect. The ambiance was intimate and cozy with warm inviting colors and confortable seating with booth options and pillows. The food was delicious!! They have a simple menu, but all the dishes are heavy hitters in their own right. The proteins offered with the dishes are really well prepared and cooked! The beef and chicken were so tender! I highly recommend ordering a bunch of dishes and doing family style to share! There are just too many you must try! The service was great! Ploy was so lovely and we got to meet one of the owners as well! She was so sweet and told us that her and her husband opened up this restaurant to pay homage to their roots. They asked for feedback but we had no notes, all was done so well. The pad tai had great flavor and I loved the details of the fried pork skin for texture. The pad see ew had that nice char from the wok and were thick and chewy. Fried rice had great texture with large chunks of blue crab. The chicken and beef proteins were so tender and seasoned well. Highly recommend the Nam Tok! The papaya salad was refreshing and had grilled corn which is different. The green curry also had great flavor and I loved how the fried whole fish was already deboned. The mango sticky rice was perfect and came with a coconut ice cream that was the sauce for it! We all had different favorites at the table and still I need to come back out of curiosity to try the rest of the menu! Their chicken wings, grilled shrimp, pork balls and duck curry look amazing as well! What we ordered: Thai Tea Blue crab fried rice Papaya Salad with Grilled Corn Nam Tok Beef Pad See Ew with Beef Pad Thai with Chicken Green Curry with Beef Cheeks Fried Trout that was already deboned Mango Sticky Rice Huge thanks for the hospitality! We'll be back!

I saw the mango sticky rice and was super excited to try this place. However, they had already run out of mango sticky rice even though dinner service hadn't started that long ago. That was disappointing, but it's still soft opening so I'll come back for it another time. The noodles were the highlight of the meal. The green curry beef cheek was underwhelming, but if you like spice that creeps on you, this one's for you. Parking: underground parking is validated for 30 mins

What I got: Fresh Coconut Thai Tea Mango Sticky Rice Pad Thai Spicy corn papaya salad Nam Tok Creamy Dtomyum Prawns Green curry beef Wow I love this new Thai place! I'm soo glad they opened up in Pasadena. The ambiance is cute and has plenty of seating inside. The service is amazing, they get really busy and food comes out really fast. Servers were very nice, friendly and fast service. Food is amazing! The best! I'm obsessed with the coconuty flavor. It soo hard to choose because we got soo much and all of them taste good. But for me the one that I remember is the creamy dtomyum prawns unlike other tomyum soup This one is more creamy coconut flavor and love the strong flavor of this soup I kept eating more rice! Green curry beef is also my favorite! The meat is soo tender and soft just melt in your mouth and the curry coconut flavor sooo goooodd! I am Definitely going to comeback here and try other dishes! I already told my friends about this new spot! SOO SOO good! I hope this restaurant do well

Stumbled upon Dalah during their soft opening and decided to give it a try! We ordered the blue crab fried rice, papaya salad, and beef cheek green curry. Everything was pretty solid and I'd recommend checking it out. Here's my ranking of the dishes I ordered. 1) Papaya salad 2) Beef cheek green curry 3) Blue crab fried rice The papaya salad was my favorite. It was refreshing, and I loved how they added corn into it. The beef cheek green curry was also really flavorful. I appreciate that the blue crab fried rice actually had real pieces of crab in it. Overall, everything tasted really clean and fresh. The staff was also really friendly, and all the food came out in a timely manner. The interior is also super spacious. It's located right across from LA Fitness, not on Lake. Parking can be a little tricky. I just parked in the lot diagonal of the restaurant and walked over. If you're in the area, I would recommend giving them a try.

A delicious new Thai spot in Pasadena, we just had to come try it out after seeing the reviews online! We've had many great Thai places, and Dalah was just added to our list. The place is small and seats out 40 people total so we had about a 15min wait on a Sunday early afternoon. It never stopped being busy as we saw two waitresses taking care of the full restaurant, both were friendly and accommodating. My family shared 2 of their most popular dishes; the beef green curry, and the beef pad see ew, along with one appetizer of chimichurri chicken satay. The chicken satay was absolutely delicious, the chimichurri was very garlicky and fresh and the peanut sauce was unusually creamy. The green curry was lightly spicy and tender, while the pad see ew was amazingly savory and the slices of beef were cooked to perfection. They offer Thai iced teas and ice cream from the local favorite L'moon, which we frequently visit for Thai tea soft serve. We finished the meal off with the mango sticky rice, it is seasonal and the mango was so ripe it tasted almost like concord grapes! Though I do wish there was more coconut milk sauce on top. Overall an amazing experience, but it does get busy and the parking is either paid in a garage lot or street only.

Came here with some friends to check out this new Thai restaurant during its very soft opening, and we were excited to give it a try. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated quickly. The space is small yet feels spacious, with clean lines, minimalist décor, and a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered several dishes to share, starting with the Pad Thai with grilled chicken. One thing that stood out was the addition of fried pork skin, which added a delicious crunch and unique texture to the dish. We also ordered the Kiew Whan Beef Cheek (green curry), and the beef cheeks were incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth. The Chicken Satay Chimichurri was another favorite. I loved that they used dark meat chicken, which stayed juicy and flavorful. The chimichurri combined with Thai basil gave the dish a fresh, vibrant flavor that reminded me of some Vietnamese dishes. We also tried the fried tofu sticks and sautéed morning glory (ong choy), which weren't on the menu. Both were excellent. The tofu was crispy, light, and airy, and paired perfectly with the sweet chili dipping sauce. The morning glory leaned a little salty, but it was savory, flavorful, and absolutely delicious with rice. The staff also brought out a fresh fruit salad for us to sample and provide feedback on. It featured strawberries, grapes, green mangoes, and grape tomatoes tossed in their sweet-savory sauce. I could easily eat an entire bowl of this. It was refreshing, bright, and the perfect palate opener. To finish, we ordered the classic Thai mango sticky rice, which was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. For a soft opening, the food was impressive, the service was warm and attentive, and every dish showed a lot of promise. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

Went to dinner with a friend on Friday night at 5:30 and by the time we left at 7 there was a wait. This place is excellent! The minimalist decor, the service, the incredible food, I wish we had more people so we could do a family style. Started with the chicken satay. Amazing, the chimichuri with peanut sauce amazing. I had the shrimp pad Thai and it was so flavorful and delicious. My friend had the drunk noodles (their mild is on the hot side) which was also good. We tried their two desserts and I'm torn as to which was better. The mango sticky rice had perfectly ripe mango, but the Thai tea ice cream was smooth, and not to sweet, something that happens with some Thai teas. All and all an excellent place and bring lots of people so you can try lots of things.

Bangkok Cafe Vibes Hit Pasadena. Let me introduce you to DALAH, the newest Thai Spot off of Cordova and S Lake. The moment you walk in, it's chic and an aesthetic that you already know the food is gonna be lit. From cozy bright cushions, tiled maroon tables and high ceilings, this not your typical Thai restaurant. The menu is simple not overwhelming and filled with selected classic Thai dishes with an elevated flare. The classic Chicken Satay is accompanied by a fresh Thai chimichurri to cut the richness of the peanut sauce and taste is eye opening. Steak Ramen Drunken Noodles is visually stunning soy coated curly noodles, bright cuts of peppers and slices of medium rare steak makes any carnivore weak. DALAH has found a way to improve the classic Pad Thai and its genius. My biggest problem with Pad Thai are the noodles always clumping together but Dalah uses a shorter noodle so I can enjoy my pad thai and all the complex flavors. Hat Yai Wings are crisp to perfection and if you love wings, you can't go wrong. Crispy Beef Cheeks over Thai Green Curry w/ Eggplant was nice surprise and satisfied my crave for something saucy over rice but wanted texture. You need dessert to end your meal and it's so good! The @lamoon_creamery Creamery Thai Tea Ice Cream Sundae as it is topped with coco jelly and graham cracker crumble. You can't go wrong with their classic mango sticky rice as the sticky rice is warm and rich with sliced mangos, ahhh! Sooo good. This spot is great for dining and celebrating with girlfriends, a lovely date with your SO or simply solo dining in a chic space. Dalah has great service and prepare for a good time! Restaurant closes on Monday & Tuesday!

we decided to give this new thai spot in pasadena a try. everything we ordered here was so delish and flavorful. our favorites would probably be the green curry and the mango sticky rice. everything came out super fresh and piping hot, but some dishes did take a while for some reason. overall, really liked each dish and felt like it was the perfect amount of flavor and spice in each. the steak was very tender as well for the mama drunken noodles. it's also quite spacious inside and some items came out relatively quick.

Solid new Thai place and quite unique in their curry flavors. I love that they add a lot of coconut milk so the spice isn't the type that hits you in the face but a slow build on the green curry. The red curry in the duck was milder and more tolerable for me, while I really loved the tenderness of the duck more than the beef cheek. They are currently in soft opening and seem to be offering a free mango sticky rice for orders $50 and above. The staff was also very nice to offer a small cup of complimentary Thai tea to try as they are in soft opening. Overall I really enjoyed the food and would be curious to try more items as they build the menu for their grand opening! Tip on parking: Try parking across the street at Shoppers Lane for first 90mins free, versus the $1 parking next to this restaurant location!

New Thai place in Pasadena! Soft opening - everything was a hit. I can definitely see myself coming back here with family. Interior is super cute and designed well. Menu is small and makes you want to try everything. The best was the fermented crispy pork appetizer with an addictive dipping sauce! Their pad Thai was really balanced and I like how the chicken was cooked on the side! The grilled beef salad was tender and came with lots of herbs. I also loved the cucumber side. The mango sticky rice is soo good with perfectly sweet mango!

A pleasant experience! Arrived Saturday night and waited 30 minutes to be seated. The dining room was quite small but cozy. We ordered the chicken satay appetizer, which was cooked to perfection. Very juicy and tender, and the peanut sauce was well balanced and well seasoned. The pad Thai with prawns was solid as well. However, I felt that the beef cheek plate was a bit under seasoned and lacked depth in flavor. Regardless, the beef was very tender.

This Thai restaurant is located E. Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA…read more My family decided to go here for dinner, We parked from the back for more available parking. As we entered from the back, I could see you can sit outside patio too, I was very amazed at all of the unique authentic decorations. This Thai restaurant is super clean & their restrooms, highly organized & attention to details. As we are seated I can tell this is a very arm, friendly, chic, classy and elegant place! Neung was our waitress, she asked if we had any questions and we did! She answered them all beautifully. There are some many dishes to choose from : Appetizers, Soups, Salads, Curries, Stir Fry & Veggies, Fried Rice, Pan Fried Noodles, Noodles Soups, Grilled BBQ, Cold & Hot drinks, Pot of Tea, beer, white & red wines, desserts. They also have lunch specials here too! We order appetizers egg rolls, Tofu soup small, Panang Beef with white rice , Pad see ew tofu, no egg, no broccoli substitute carrots. Their portions are great here & so was their prices! Everything was delicious, mouthwatering! I never had a big chunk of tofu in my soup before, but it's was so delicious with the broth! Neung was making sure if we needed anything , she was on it! Neung was so very polite, sweet, caring , king, very genuine, down to earth! Neung has this positive upbeat energy about herself that really radiates! She is Shining Star! Her shine will never fade! Please treasure her greatly! I would love to Thank Neung for fantastic & memorable visit! I would also like to thank the other workers who helped us ! Thank you Daisy Ming for a wonderful visit ! I'll definitely tell all my family & friends to come and visit! Please be kind and courteous to these hard workers!

Ordered for takeout and it was ready right on time when I arrived. The packaging was nicely done…read moreand the staff handing the food was friendly. We ordered: + Cream cheese wontons - the wonton was fried light but crispy, and filling was plentiful. A little pricey without having any imitation crab or green onion in there. (5 for $10.95). + Tom Kah Soup - this tasted pretty good but not like other tom kah soups I've had? The opacity of the soup was a little more transparent. Veggies included tomato, mushrooms, broccoli, and cabbage. + Kang Kiew Wan (Green Curry) - with chicken. First bites were excellent but as you ate on, it was on a saltier side so make sure to have rice on hand. Ordering here, rice is an add on but we cooked some at home so was all good. Besides the wontons, the price to portions of the other items were very good. We ordered through doordash and the price was consistent as what was on their menu too.

Hands down one of my favorite local take out joints. The food here is fantastic! Loaded with lots…read moreof flavor and zapp! I can't recommend this place enough. Here are my families favorites: Yellow chicken curry (mild) Spicy wings (they have a sweet chili glaze ) Pad Thai combination (with a lil extra sauce) Rad Na noodles (gravy is tasty!) Chicken Satay (ooh that peanut sauce is ) Papaya salad (brings a nice freshness and crunch!) Mango sticky rice (light coconut flavor and light sweetness, so good!) Even for a sit down restaurant, the ambiance is nice here too. Just small inside, so not ideal for large parties. The staff is very friendly too!

Open on July 4th! That alone deserves 5 stars, just kidding! Seriously, the food is truly…read moreoutstanding -- spicy flat rice noodle with beef (pad kee mao) is not overcooked like some other places ("Thai Central" in Thai Town) and has the familiar texture and 'wok air' of the Cantonese beef chow fun. The traditional pad thai is also excellent. But our favorite is the Thai curry bowl (comes with white rice)....it's the curry dish for people who don't like curry...it's that good! The satay chicken skewers are a perfect appetizer.

Smaller place than look in the picture. We got there in time with a biggest table near the entrance…read morethat 2 guests were able to leave in a minute. We've 5 people which fit well for that table of 6. Food portions are little small for that price. Taste was not bad but nothing that had made me remember. Only thing was Pad Thai noodles were pretty good & chewy in texture so not too bad. The chicken skewers were not much flavor & dry. Dishes were a bit oily. It's pricy for their portion & probably not returning for that & flavors weren't kicking. DID I MENTION ADDING BEEF (chicken is free) TOPPING TO CURRY ORDER IS +$3 & SEAFOOD I think was $8! Another thing was unhappy with them is CHARGING 20% MANDATORY TIPS! So be careful & read before you pay! We came because of Moom 48 closed today/Monday! They've better price, normal to bigger portions of food, haven't tried their lunch special yet & much bigger restaurant than here.
