Since DAMO is located in Ktown, it was a bit difficult to find parking, so we parked on a side street. The matchas were delicious. My friends got the strawberry matcha and I got the matcha latte. I found the strawberry one to be tastier, without being overly sweet. The regular matcha latte was good too, but I wish it had something to make it even more special. I should've ordered their Eispanner instead. The service was attentive! When we walked in, she asked us if we wanted cream or regular lattes and what kind of milks. Although the place was fairly busy, we were still able to find seating to enjoy our matcha. It's well-lit and clean! I'm traveling to SoCal again soon, and will stop by to try the Eispanner matcha instead if I can find parking! :) read more

Pretty good matcha! If you like strong matcha this is for you as I like mine pretty strong too. It said the matcha was sweetened and I get worried about it being too sweet so I asked for extra matcha but omg theirs is so strong! I would get again without the extra matcha. Had such high expectations for this cafe because of all the great reviews but unfortunately I was not impressed! They're open daily 8am-6pm Parking was very small and is shared with many other businesses but it was nice that it was free! Service was ok and nothing special Inside was pretty small and limited seating Menu had a good variety of tea, matcha, and coffee options. Pricing was quite pricey so expect to pay $6-$8+/drink and milk substitutions (oat/almond) cost extra $0.75! Strawberry Matcha Einspener ($8.50) was too creamy and the matcha wasn't as strong and rich as I was expecting. It was pretty sweet and definitely wasn't worth $9! This was the priciest matcha drink I've had so I had really high expectations and unfortunately, it was nowhere close to the best matcha I've had! Most likely won't recommend or return unfortunately read more

strawberry matcha einspanner was so good w/ both equally strong flavors of the matcha and strawberry! they add enough strawberry puree which most places don't do. also tried the chocolate forest is a matcha latte w/ chocolate foam cream on top. it was good but i just don't prefer chocolate in my drinks. came at sat 4pm wait 10 min and drinks came out pretty quickly. it would help to have a 2nd menu closer to the front of the store so ppl can look at the menu while waiting. read more

Visited Damo Coffee with friends and ordered the matcha einspanner and chocolate matcha einspanner. Both were really good, creamy and balanced. I liked how the matcha flavor was actually stronger than most places. There was still a line when we went at even around 5 pm. The space inside is small, so seating can be limited, but the cozy vibe makes it a nice stop for a quick drink. Overall, great quality drinks and a solid matcha spot worth checking out. read more

Delicious tea drinks at a space with lots of natural light, good amount of seating options, and solid wifi!! The matcha latte with white cream was tasty - matcha latte with a strong matcha flavor and mixed well with the milk. The cream top was a little too much together, but I did enjoyed the creaminess and how it wasn't too sweet. I was more impressed with the hojicha because it was intense and strong in all the good ways! The hojicha cream was a nice addition to temporize the bitter flavors but the tea is what stood out to me! On a weekday afternoon, I was able to find a seat real quick. There was a good mix of people working vs people getting take out. Wifi was good! I was able to get through an hour of Zoom meeting without any issues/interruptions. Outlets available. Bathroom with a passcode. Parking available in front. I had a great experience with their drinks and overall logistics. read more

We came right before they closed but had patient and kind servers. We ordered four lattes, 3 matcha and 1 hojicha. We sat and waited for a little then left after our drinks came out (which was very fast). The hojicha latte was incredibly unique and tasty, I like hojicha a lot because of its nutty and sweet taste. It is slightly coffee-y, with a strong tea taste. Very good! The quality of the tea was excellent and the balance of sweetness with the foam and latte is perfection. The matcha latte was similarly smooth and creamy, slightly more tea flavor I would say and that strong matcha definitely comes out. The color is bright green as it should be! A cute cafe, next to a plaza with easy parking. Definitely could see myself coming back here to sit a little longer. Will be back! read more

Located off 8th Street in Los Angeles in Koreatown. Parking is tight and very crowded and busy with the other businesses in the plaza. Today a Sunday it was packed and the lines were non stop out the door from when we arrived and left. Inside is small a few tables which fill up quickly you gotta be fast to get one. I got the strawberry matcha which was good but pricey than other places I've been. Service was good despite the long lines. Overall a good spot for tea but location wise with the parking can discourage people from coming back unless timed right to get parking. read more

I'm always in search of a good Matcha so I was really glad I got to try Damo. They allow for milk substitutions, which is a big plus for me and their strawberry matcha is delicious. We tried the Strawberry Matcha Einspanner and Einspanner Latte. Both were really good. The matcha wasn't overly sweet or drowned with milk, and the strawberry tasted fresh! One of the best strawberry matchas I've had. The latte tasted like tiramisu and had a more milk to coffee ratio. Orders came out fast and service was good. Good place to study but very limited seating and parking lot is quite atrocious. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon, and this place was very popular. There was a short line and a decent amount of seating and tables, which looked nice for enjoying drinks, chatting, or studying/working. The interior was well decorated and had a very clean and modern vibe. I ordered the matcha einspanner, and my boyfriend ordered the matcha latte. The matcha was perfectly sweetened and very well-balanced. The matcha was not overly bitter, but still strong and not too sweet. Loved it! This shop is a decent size but was packed upon arrival. The staff seemed to work quickly and the line moved pretty fast. I ordered a matcha tea latte and 2 financiers. One was supposed to be a seaweed flavor and the other had muggwort and fig with cream cheese. The matcha latte was good but honestly very mild in flavor. I like mine a little stronger and richer so it was a bit of a let down. I was not a fan of either financiers as the seaweed had almost no flavor and the fig one just wasn't my cup of tea. Not bad but not for me. Be warned the parking lot is very small and cramped. We were lucky and found some street parking. read more

Really wished I would have liked it more. But I ordered the matcha einspanner and the matcha did not taste as strong, and a bit on the not-sweeter side. The cream top was a bit better though, sweet and light, yet mixing it with the matcha did not do much. My friend also got another drink that had a chocolate swirl on top ? And she did not enjoy that one. Said it tasted like chocolate syrup striaght from one of those topping syrup bottles. Came here for the coffee and matcha and we loved it! It gets crowded here, but it's a solid place to come by for drinks! It can be nice for a date or a small group of friends, (but not too big!) I got the matcha einspanner and the strawberry drink. The matcha einspanner was definitely the highlight: rich, earthy, and well balanced. I'd give it an 8.2/10. The strawberry drink was decent but nothing crazy, probably a 7.6/10. The ambiance was nice since you can see them make everything right in front of you, which adds to the experience. That said, the place felt a little dirty...some tables weren't wiped down, though it might've been because it was toward the end of the day. Overall, still a good spot, but a bit overhyped for the wait, limited seating, and slower drink service. read more

Came on a Saturday around 12:45 and there was quite a line out the door. Took around 15 mins to order and another 5 mins for the drinks to come out. There's a decent amount of seating and we were luckily able to find a table. My friends and I all ordered the matcha einspanner. The cream top was delicious and the matcha was a nice green color. It was strong and okay though there was a weird bitter taste that wasn't my taste. We were all disappointed and agreed it didn't live up to the hype. Wow this is one of the best matcha places I've ever been! We came here on a Sunday morning and there was a line inside already. I wanted to share my positive experience at DAMO. Parking was easy, as they offer a shared parking lot and plenty of street parking. Although it was quite full during our visit, there was ample seating available with two bars and various tables and chairs, making it comfortable to stay, work, or simply enjoy a drink. We tried the Matcha Einspener and the Strawberry Matcha, both of which were delicious. I also sampled their cute and tiny pastries, specifically the mugwort fig one, which had a wonderful flavor, and I truly enjoyed the figs. First time ever having Damo matcha and fell in love with the chocolate matcha! I love me a matcha with chocolate notes and a matcha with a chocolate cream top is equally as delicious! The matcha drinks here are lightly sweetened in my opinion and as someone with a sweet tooth, I had to ask for extra sweetness on my drink. The interior of the shop was really nice, very limited space, and quite stuffy in there especially on a super hot day. I would definitely come back again to get the chocolate matcha! read more

The BEST matcha einspanner in LA (bold statement but I stand by it). I've tried most of the matcha einspanners in the ktown area...(memory look, about time, rny, etc.) the only other matcha einspanner that comes close is community goods, yeems, or rok. Free parking. Quick service. Free WiFi. Only downside is there's not that many seats and limited outlets, so if you want to do work I would suggest getting there early. read more

The matcha einspanner here is good! But, what really stood out IMO was the hojicha einspanner - don't sleep on this!! We visited on a Sunday immediately after they opened, and shortly after we ordered a bunch of people slowly started to fill the store. They're pretty popular / well-known for good reason, the presentation of their drinks are great!! Both of the einspanners were creamy and their respective flavors were very fragrant. The hojicha especially stood out - it was toasty, warm, nutty; this made for the perfect drink on a colder morning!! Big pro to DAMO: they have a huge parking lot. We didn't have an issue finding parking when visiting and that's always a rare find esp in KTown lol. read more

Unfortunately, this was the worst matcha experience I have had in LA. I get that people have a bad day but the bleach blonde worker really needed an attitude check. She made our experience quite sour. Otherwise, my matcha (with oat milk) was also just chalky and not sifted well. As someone who does not believe in wasting food/drinks, I could not even finish this one. The only upside is the good amount of seating they have. Would not waste your time here. read more

Cute shop, but it was packed. Not many seats. In total, I probably waited around 25-30 minutes which isn't too bad. The staff were friendly. I'd give it a 3.5/5. Matcha Einspener - The matcha itself is actually bitter, but the cream top is super sweet--it balances out nicely. I'd say it's worth a try for around $8, though it's not the best matcha I've had. I really enjoyed it and could tell it was crafted with care. **Negatives:** Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by a rude interaction with one of the baristas. A female worker wearing a pink cardigan (you know who you are!) insisted I return the straw bucket to its rightful place. While I was in the process of doing so, she hastily grabbed the bucket, causing my drink to spill all over me and the floor. Instead of apologizing or offering any help, she turned her back and went straight back to preparing drinks. I stood there embarrassed, asking for a paper towel to clean myself and the area. Thankfully, a kind male barista stepped in. He not only cleaned up the spill but also remade my drink, which I truly appreciated. His helpful and gracious attitude salvaged an otherwise frustrating moment. To the barista in the pink cardigan: I understand the importance of keeping things organized, and I was already moving the bucket back as you asked. However, your hasty and careless actions not only caused the spill but also made me feel dismissed. A simple apology or some acknowledgment would have gone a long way in making me feel respected as a customer. Overall, the matcha here is fantastic, and most of the staff seems great. Gideon went above and beyond to recommend some of his personal favorites, including the Mango Cream Matcha, Yuzu Espresso Tonic, and the signature Earl Grey Cake. Trusting his expertise was the best decision we made that day because each sip and bite exceeded our expectations. We were surprised by how good the Mango Cream Matcha was. The drink had the perfect balance of mango sweetness complementing the rich matcha flavor. The Yuzu Espresso Tonic was also a refreshing drink, with a bold kick of espresso and a subtle hint of citrus from the yuzu. However, the star of the show was undoubtedly the Earl Grey Cake. We were lucky enough to see it in stock and the cake paired perfectly with our drinks. While parking was a bit of a challenge due to the crowded plaza, it was a minor inconvenience compared to the overall experience we had at Damo Cafe. I visited this place on a bustling Sunday morning, and to my surprise, they whipped up the drinks super quickly! It was a vibrant scene with folks eating, sipping on drinks, going on dates, and studying. The atmosphere is wonderfully diverse. Their menu, while simple, offers a wide and unique selection. I gave the matcha einspanner with oat milk a try, and it was a delightful treat! It's essentially an iced matcha latte with a touch of sweet cream foam on top and a sprinkle of matcha powder.
