Just stay away unless you want to get ripped off! I had dinner there on Monday night at 5:30 pm and had to scream to hear my friends , the noise level was off the hook! In addition I had a pork chop for 36.00 that maybe consisted of 6 bites it was so small! My friend ordered the swordfish and the portion size was also a joke. In addition they overcooked it and she had to send it back, by the time it got out of the kitchen, I had already finished my entree! It cost me 83.00 with tax and tip for an entree and one drink and sharing an appetizer in 3! A total rip off and mediocre food at best. Feh! Meh! Two hours later I had to have a second dinner as I was so hungry. If you feel the need to get ripped off at this Greenwich village institution then go there! It was unbelievably disappointing and I would have asked for my money back had I not embarrassed the ladies I was with. Shame on them for charging these prices and delivering entrees that consist of small bites. And did I mention that the sound volume was deafening!!! Stopped into the bar for a drink on Saturday night around 8pm and we were able to sit pretty quickly with no reservation. Love the ambiance inside and the bartenders and very friendly. We had a nice experience here so I have to give 5 stars. I have always wanted to come here but had a hard time finding a reservation and never wanted to wait. Made a 430 reservation thru Resy. After booking I realized that they didn't start serving food until 5, so I e mailed the restaurant and they kindly moved it to 5 pm. We were able to sit inside in a cute corner booth which was great because we were both celebrating our birthday. We didn't get drinks but ordered an early dinner. We split a salad and I had the truffle risotto and he had the pork chop. We also shared the broccolini. Everything was fresh and delicious. The pasta size was enough where I couldn't eat all of it. The pork chop was cooked well. The broccolini was super spicy but still great. We didnt get dessert but they brought both of us a piece of tiramisu which was nice. The tiramisu was delicious and just what you would expect. Would come back here again, but will always make sure to have a reservation. My friends and I enjoyed an amazing brunch at Dante. This was my first time at the Greenwich Village location, and I loved the ambiance. It's very similar to their West Village location but a bit more spacious, which I enjoyed. We started with the banana bread and scones to share. When I was young in the mid to late 1970's, my dear friends parents would take us to Cafe Dante for a treat, too young for coffee we would have steamed milk or later on, a Latte. Still a nostalgic street, the cafe is warm & inviting, service is friendly and welcoming. The selection of Negroni & Martini choices is exceptional and they are expertly made. They had an extensive cocktail list, we went with the espresso martini where they honored the 3 bean rule. We were headed to a show after so stuck with entrees only. I instantly fell in love with the music and vibe which was very upbeat .The place can get quite chatty and crowded so I would not recommend for a quite date night. We started with the focaccia and the prawns which were absolutely delicious and must gets. It was surprisingly busy during brunch/lunch, but the hostess was kind enough to offer us seats at a small communal bar area by the entrance without a resy. This latest time, I walked in right at opening, around noon, with almost no one dining yet, and was sat at a delightful inside table. I was served immediately, and as always, they are happy to have me. I had one of their gin and tonics, which as just magnificent--crisp, garnished with orange, berries, and lime, as well as herbs. Dynamite and refreshing. I also had their fluffy margarita Royale, which I think I've had before. Another refreshing powerhouse, with olmeca altos, fluffy clementine, lime, orange dry curaçao, Prosecco, and saffron. *chef's kiss* For food I had the focaccia, again something I will open with at Dante forevermore--served with ricotta and salsa peperoncini. And I had the orecchiette this time--italian sausage, broccolini, chili flakes. Great seasoning, but hard to decide if I would pick this again over the richer, meatier dishes, like the pappardelle all'ragu. We had an 8pm reservation and the restaurant definitely got more popular as the evening went on, which was surprising and helpful. I ordered the strawberry negroni which was delicious, not too bitter at all. My husband ordered a different type of negroni that he explained he loved. We split the olives and burrata. Olives, you can't go wrong with. Burrata was delicious and creamy. To drink, I went with the Tequila & Apples for $19 with Dobel Diamante tequila, calvados, allspice dram, and fluffy green apple juice. It was excellent with a nice presentation. My main dish is something that's not on the current menu so I am unsure the price but I believe it was around $20. It was a baked dish with eggs, mushrooms, and cheese which I believe was fontina or something with a similar flavor. I had asked between this and another mushroom dish and the waiter had recommended this one as it was more filling. The egg layer was soft and there was good earthiness and richness.
