We went to Dario's for the first time this weekend for a quick lunch. We were not disappointed! I had the Caprese panini and my boyfriend had the chicken breast sandwhich. Everything was super fresh, you can tell that every topping is made in house. We'll for going here over and over again! My only suggestion would be for them to offer a few side options, they only had bagged chips from what I recall. A potato or pasts salad or coleslaw would be perfect with their sandwhiches. UPDATE: We go to Dario's on a weekly basis. It's seriously that delicious. Every single sandwich is perfect, super fresh, and addicting. SO GOOD! First of all, the atmosphere is nice and cozy. It makes for a good intimate lunch date but also a great spot to sit with friends. The couple that was there running it, whom i assumed to be the owners, were very polite, friendly, cheerful and helpful. My girlfriend got some sort of vegetarian delicious heaven sandwich and a i got a damn good chicken focaccia sandwich. The prices are a little high but the food is definitely great quality with a great finished product. This is a sandwich joint but not a deli, so there is no confusion. I will most definitely be back in on a cheat day to sample more of the menu. Easily one of the best sandwich places in the area. read more

Excellent flavors over her.. Great service. Small place with a few places to sit. It has huuuuuuge flavor. Menu is good size with plenty of excellent options. I ate here yesterday and have returned for more. The cubano sandwich is excellent. The soup I had was an italian egg drop type of soup with spinach and it was great. The chips and guacasalsa is solid. I will definitely return here again when Im in the area. read more

What a great find! My son and I stopped here after a day of college shopping. The sandwiches were absolutely divine. There is absolutely nothing I would change about it. We both had grilled Panini's. He had the Italian and I had a veggie one. They were cooked perfectly, with a crispy outer crust and super melty and gooey on the inside. Well done! read more

Dario's where have you been all my life ?! I am in love with this place! I tried the highly recommended Cubano sandwich and it's phenomenal! Their employees couldn't be more friendlier if they tried. I only wish that they were open on Sundays. I will "forget" to bring lunch to work more often so I can come here on my lunch breaks. Tried the much hyped Fiesta and Cubano sandwiches: Pros - Made fresh, huge portions/good value, nice grill marks on bread, unique taste, and overall 2 pretty tasty sandwiches unlike other sandwiches out there. Cons - Taste borders on gimmicky crowd pleaser flavors as opposed to classic sublime unami tastes. Lots of stuff and sauces in their sandwich like how something can appear to taste better with a splash of BBQ sauce, Russian dressing, or honey mustard sauce on it. Service is very friendly but beware of them closing 10 minutes earlier than their 6:00PM posting. read more

You will not find a better sandwich shop in Palatine! Dario's has the best sandwiches! I typically order the club panini and the ingredients are so fresh and delicious. I've also had the BBQ pork sandwich and that too is amazing. I can't wait to try the other items on the menu! The restaurant itself is small, but I like that. Sandwich places usually are! I had the special of half a sandwich and soup (I chose the Cubano and their soup of the day stracciatella). Both were delicious! The half sandwich was very large - more like a full sandwich. Easily the most delicious restaurant in downtown palatine. You know it's good because they are never open. Staff is friendly and prompt and they pack some big flavor in their sandwiches for such a tiny place. I eat here every chance I get. Try the dirty potato chips, they're the greatest. read more

This is the best place for a quick bite in Palatine. We have been going to Darios for a few years now, and it never disappoints. The Fiesta Panini is my go-to sandwich, but everything else on the menu is amazing too! Large Sandwiches, soups and huge salads. We also love the fact that we can bring Udi Bread in for our Gluten Free son and they make him a Panini to order. They are not open on Sundays or evenings, so be sure to plan ahead. Poor customer service here. My husband and I came here at exactly 5:10pm on a weekday (closing time is 6pm). When we informed the two workers in the front that we would be dining in, we were given dirty looks and an attitude. I asked if they had outdoor tables, because the weather was beautiful and we wanted to eat outside-but, apparently the tables were put away already. A whole 50 min early? Ok. We took the food to go, due to the negative attitude we were receiving. Wow... I haven't been treated that poorly in a restaurant probably ever. My sandwich came out hot when I thought it would be cold. I asked very nicely if I could get it cold instead. The OWNER came out and berated me for even thinking of asking them to remake it. I was so mortified I told her to just take it back and I'll take a refund. To which she continued to berate me on how she's never heard of anyone ever asking for a refund just because they don't like how something came out... uhh I am not sure how she's never heard of that. I always make it a point to visit Darios at least once when I'm in town. The sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had and the staff goes above and beyond to make everyone happy. This time i ordered the Vivo panini- prosciutto, fresh mozz and peppers. It was ridiculously good. I believe they make all their bread also. The sandwiches are huge, definitely enough for 2 but you can order just a half with chips or soup. Love this place! read more
