What was good about Dasom? Almost everything... At this point, I trust this Chef Kang guy and his restaurants. I especially enjoy that all restaurants have distinct personalities and vibes. For Dasom, this is the place to go for the simple meals. The quality of meat and soups are fantastic, really keeps the old school ingredients with better prep methods. I usually don't leave reviews often, but I truly felt that this place deserved a 5 star review. As soon as we walked in, the employees were very kind and I felt very welcomed. The place has a very warm ambiance with k-pop music playing in the backround. As I was looking at the menu, one of the employees came over and recommended us the Braised Pork Belly, Fresh Kimchi, Beef Bean Paste and Marinated Raw Oyster (bossam). I was skeptical at first because I usually don't like pork because of the scent, but we decided to give it a shot along with the #1 signature Bone Broth Ugly Beef Rib Soup and the Beef Bulgogi with onions. The bossam does take a while to come out, as the rest of the food came out pretty quickly. The bulgogi was okay in my opinion, but my friends that came with me really enjoyed it. The Bone Broth Ugly Beef Rib Soup on the other hand was perfectly seasoned and I could tell why it was their #1 signature menu. There were so many pieces of beef rib in the soup considering it was only 18 dollars, I thought that was very impressive. Once the bossam came out, we were so excited to try it and it did not disappoint us at all. Although I don't even like pork, I really liked that it didn't have that pork smell to it which made it easier for me to eat. The lettuce and cabbage were also really fresh which made it even better. My friends and I really enjoyed the beef bean paste along with the bossam, but the marinated raw oyster was beyond amazing as well. Overall, this place did not disappoint and I'm not surprised as to how busy it's getting. Will be visiting again soon read more

Food is great. We love the food, especially all the bone broth soups, as it's authentic Korean food and it feels comforting. As a young working mom life gets quite busy and this is a great restaurant for our busy family to pick up food and get through the week. I am a huge fan of Korean style soups and have tried many in the area but I can't stress enough how good their food is here. We got the spicy kimchi pork and the beef bean paste stew. Both were excellent but the bean paste stew was definitely the favorite. So far we have only been able to have it delivered but we are excited to try the restaurant in person sometime soon. When it arrived I immediately noticed there was no salt or pepper on the table and as I suspected the Chef did their due diligence and sent it out as it should be... perfectly seasoned. I like the yellow mustard dipping sauce as it helps to highlight the beefy flavor in each bite. The kimchi and banchan were just right and the portions were so on point... I hate to waste food and right now I'm definitely satiated and delighted to know that I will most certainly be back to try the other dishes. Soup was mediocre, a bit tasteless. There are two categories of hear. No heat (which is bland and boring), or moderately hot ( which is exactly that). The broth had no nuance, or layers of flavor. No richness one expects from a well cooked broth. The Bandhan was also ok, kimchi with little juice, quail eggs hardboiled ( a nice touch), dried anchovy flakes, pickle cucumber (no gochugaru), some greens w meat. Rice does not come w soup, one must adk and its one option, white. . There are NO vegetarian/ vegan options. Chilled barley water was a nice touch. One of the best Korean hot pots I've had. We ordered the braised wagyu ox tail and the spam and veggie egg pancake. The pancake tasted more like an omelette and it tasted very nostalgic. The oxtail hot pot was so delicious it exceeded my already high expectations. The oxtail was so tender and the meat fell off the bones and the broth was savory and sweet. I would definitely comeback for their hot pot and banchan. All of their banchan was good and we requested seconds of each. Also the price was very reasonable for the amount of food we got.
