Their service team did reach out and gave us a ring to get us to try Dave's again, we probably waited a good 7 months before jumping on their offer. And thankfully this visit was a better experience overall. We placed an order online on their website with a pickup confirmation for 10 minutes. We had just missed the lunch rush and were immediately greeted and handed our goods in a flash. Now for the food, we had gotten the 2 slider combo, and everything was fresh. Chicken was moist and super flavourful, I upped my usual spice level and I totally recommend slathering your chicken with a bit of honey! The addition of the fries on the side had a good coating of salt, but I think what changed for us was the packaged Dave Sauce. This time, we were both surprised at how flavourful everything was. I came here on Thursday (08/04) to pick up some lunch after finishing an interview for a job. Immediately upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted and welcomed by Crystal. She provided very quick service and was very hospitable. When I told her where I was coming from she wished me luck on getting the job I just interviewed for. I received my order in less than ten minutes and Crystal asked if I wanted any ketchup or sauces and when I asked for the condiments she provided them to me without hesitation and with a smile. I ordered the Dave's #2 which comes with two sliders and fries. I ordered the chicken with the extra hot spice level and it had a good kick to it but not too spicy to the point where you can't enjoy it. I was actually full after finishing the first slider and eating some fries and although I probably could've ate the other slider for dinner. I decided to finish both sliders and fries while it was still fresh and hot. The fries were crispy and had a cajun pepper on it which was pretty good. Was also very disappointed in the Mac n cheese, tastes like nacho cheese. Way over hyped! 30$ for 2 fast food meals is a bit extreme. And also they take a ridiculously LONG TIME preparing orders for door dash! They taste just like the over salted but weak crinkle fries I got from the elementary school cafeteria back when I was a kid (not a pleasant nostalgic moment). If I return, I would skip the fries and just order the chicken solo. The other sides looked enticing; would have rather opted for any of them given the choice. The Establishment & Service: The finding room for this place is incredible! You can really tell they put in a lot of time and attention to the artwork and decor. Very fun atmosphere with lots of big murals and bright colors. The service was absolutely lacking. The guy that helped me seemed like your typical fast food cashier who hated his job and was just getting through the order so he could turn around a quick as possible. I'm not looking for a conversation mind you but he didn't smile or even make eye contact with me once. If there was an option to pick up without having to go through that awkwardness again I'd recommend that option. Overall, I was hoping that it would be a superior option to the overwhelming options of fast-food chicken joints that are popping up everywhere, but it seems to be a place where you are really just paying for the ambience and photo ops. On the outside, the place looks unassuming, barring the bright red chairs. But when you step inside, it's a blast of color within a surprisingly small place! (I don't know the photos made the place look big!) Decided to check Dave's chicken out on a whim (and heavy review checking) since I was in the area, and honestly it's not bad!! I like that the spice level names seem to be accurate to their taste. Though don't take my word for that, I heard that sometimes the spice really varies if we go by others' reviews. I decided to go with mild and it was just the right amount of spice for me! Now I think the portions relatively match the price and taste but some say it's too expensive. I can agree with them a bit since I am worried if the future orders' taste will be consistent or not. Many reviews have noted the spice and taste can vary. The pieces of chicken are generally huge and were satisfying to bite into! I like their coating! Cheese does help the slider taste good! Also this may be my preference but the little amount of coleslaw was fine. Good sandwich topping. Now there was lots of lots of sauce which wasn't bad! A weak point of the meal was the fries with it being quite cold by the time we ate. The amount of spice distributed in the fries was random with some having little spice while others had a too heavy blast of seasoning. Could be better if the fries were hot or at least warm, but this is decent. Also the toast is pathetic. Sorry, but it's just a piece of white bread with only a hint of toasting. It's very bland and is barely salvaged by the included honey sauce. Granted, I wonder if another place has spoiled us with their thick Texas Toast...But that slice of bread that is labeled as "toast" was the weakest part of the meal. The crinkle-cut fries are a bit bland and uninteresting, but that's about the worse thing I could say. And everything is made to order, so expect at least ten minutes or so to cook after you order. Had a delicious delivery from here delivered thru Doordash! The food was fresh and so tasty. I tried Dave's in LA a few years ago and wasn't all that blown away. But now I'll be a repeat customer! Hubby and I ordered the two sliders with fries each. One slider was so filling and we saved the other for our lunch the next day. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly and was still juicy. The service is outstanding for a fast food place. Although I've only been here twice, I noticed the employees are super sweet and kind! The entire area is also super clean and a bit cold, which I don't mind at all. As for the food, it is absolutely amazing, I would definitely choose here over Clyde's any day.
