It was amazing ! The service was outstanding ! One of the rare things I see but noticed immediately - positive attitude from everyone who works there as well as making us feel like royalty! From appetizer to dessert, food was perfect. I had the Filet & half rack of ribs. Perfect! The eggplant appetizer is a must and took half home as the order was so big. We had a good experience the first time we tried here a couple months ago. We had friends in town to entertain and decided to come back. Not to go into a rant on details, it was a horrible dinner for 4. The server had several chances ro make things right but decided to explain the complaints away. The eggplant wasnt too much batter it was because eggplant doesn't have much taste. The spaghetti pasta wasn't suppose to have much flavor it was the subtle style that most like. Honestly it wasnt the waiter that was the issue it was the quality of the meat that disappointed the most. None of us finished our dinners unfortunately. I guess it could have been a bad night, but we will not be coming back to test that theory. By far the least value I have gotten when spending over $100 a plate in my years of taking clients or family out for dinner. 2 read more

My table ordered bbq chicken wings, filet, shrimp, lobster, pork chops, fries, baked potato, salad, and lobster mashed potatoes. Everything was outstanding...the service and the food...except the mashed potatoes...they were INSTANT mashed potatoes!!! This is supposed to be an upscale steakhouse, not Golden Corral. I was looking forward to try this place! But it fell short of my expectations. First the good: great location and beautiful new building. We sat outside and it was really nice. Another good thing was the prices in the menu which were lower than other steak houses. Finally, service was good and food was served quickly. Now the bad: steaks are not comparable to nicer steakhouses but I knew that because price was lower. The bad thing is that I asked for medium temperature and my wife well done, and we couldn't tell them apart. All in all, I would have given this place 3.5 stars, HOWEVER, the one thing that bothers me more than anything are surcharges. They tack in a 3% surcharge to your bill, and I know that $6 on a $200 bill is nothing, but it's the principle! A "fee" that is not advertised anywhere until you get the bill is to me almost stealing from you. Mind you, this surcharge is for Prop 206 which is for the fair minimum wage act from 2016! Why don't you raise your prices accordingly?? Seems like a great solution to me! Not sure if it's worth losing paying customers by using this practice. DC Steak House has declined since moving into a new location off Arizona Ave. First parking isn't very easy and not handicap friendly as it's a longer walk to the entrance. I dined most recently for a graduation celebration but was very disappointed with the food. Two people in my party ordered the 5 oz filet and it came out overcooked. One was supposed to be medium and the other medium rare. The re-fire took a while and the rest of my party had finished eating before the two meals were served. Upon arrival, both steak were still not cooked properly as they were both rare plus instead of medium and medium rare. This was extremely disappointing. Then upon receiving the check, it was surprising the manager had not come to apologize for the errors and we had to pay full price for improperly cooked food. Long considered our favorite local restaurant, my wife and I decided to invite some friends to join us here a few nights ago. We recommended the scallops to our friends, which were always very large and delicious and cost $7 each. For some reason, this time they were about half the size as before and the price somehow jumped to $9! Also, they had a very strong taste of ammonia. One of our friends had ordered 5 to have as their entree and couldn't even eat them and we felt terrible for recommending them. We didn't bother to say anything to our waitress (who was fantastic by the way). All of the other entrees were decent, but not up to the normal standard for this place. We are not sure we will be returning anytime soon. It used to be our "go to" place, but we were disappointed enough that we will probably go find another restaurant to make our usual spot. read more

For our first visit we picked outside seating to enjoy the perfect Arizona evening. Our waitress stopped over to the table and introduced herself to us and asked about our drinks. After we ordered, we shared with her that this was our first time there and wanted her opinion on what the signature dishes were so we could sample the best the place had to offer. She highlighted the menu was filled with steaks and chops - delightful because that's right up my alley. We ordered a fillet cooked medium and a rare ribeye, along with the salads and sides. Our drinks and warm bread came promptly and we enjoyed conversation while the jazz laced with a heavy Sinatra influence continued to frame the evening. Our salads followed along in short order. Traditional dinner salads with light but nicely flavored dressings that didn't overpower the natural flavors. Just as we were finishing, our entrees arrived with near perfect timing. I'm an advocate of great dinning experiences and a part of that is presentation. My ribeye cut was perfectly seared with large squared markings served with sauteed mushrooms and garnished tastefully. A side of sweet potato fries completed the dish. The steak was tender, juicy and naturally flavored with light seasoning. No unnatural or heavy seasoning added to mask the taste or the very high quality cut. Cutting into the ribeye was really a pleasure. Nice marbling, wonderful flavor that still makes my mouth water thinking about it today. The sauteed mushrooms were a perfect compliment to the rich flavor of the steak. Perfectly cooked to my liking, rich and rare. The sweet potato fries were thin but the salt and slightly sweet flavor came out in just the right balance. I had a friend take me here to celebrate my birthday last night. I love the decor of the new place. I ate at the old location once and thought the food was average at best. Last night was awful. My friend and I split the bone in ribeye which was not a good quality of meat, very fatty, not cooked how we ordered it. I ate only one bite of mine. I had the thin fries and they were hard and cold. Our salad was iceberg lettuce with big chunks of the center of the lettuce head. The tomatoes were 3 days passed when they should have been used. No bread served. My friend order the lobster mac and cheese....very average. I would never go here again for a steak. I would have complained to the manager but my friend was treating me for my bday. I basically ate nothing, came home and heated up leftovers from another restaurant because I was starving. read more

We drove all the way from the other side of the Valley to meet friends for a great steak dinner. The food was actually great. One of the few places we have been to that delivered a rare steak the first time around. The steak was flavorful, the sides were delicious and the drinks were yum. Sadly what dragged our experience down was the server. For a place that describes itself as fine dining, she was not a good representative for that. She was rude, inattentive and forgetful (or maybe just didn't give a you know what). Frankly having to deal with her ruined the experience of what could have been amazing. We have been coming here for years (since it was in the old location). I have brought the printed customer appreciation certificate in past years and was told I didn't need it. Tried to use it today and they wouldn't take it without it being printed. It is 2022! Why are we using paper? The food is good, but so much for customer appreciation! To top it off the server said she checked with her manager and said they were being strict and there is nothing she could do. When my mother mentioned that she did not have a printer at home and she still had her certificate she wanted to use at a later time, the server simply said oh you can get it printed at Staples and laughed. My mother let her know she was going to write a review and the server said there was nothing she could do and to keep her out of it since it wasn't her fault. Special occasion Monday night dinner! We started with Shrimp & Crab balls, Caprese and Shrimp cocktail. Caprese was awesome, large thick slices of ripe tomato and mozzarella generously dressed with really good olive oil & balsamic. Shrimp were fresh and large and although they seem a little pricey the quality makes them a great value! I enjoyed Mama's pasta which was really great! Pasta cooked perfectly, sauce was thick, rich and full of flavor. Swordfish is seriously amazing. We ordered both Cajun and grilled and they were both great! Tara was a fantastic server and after hearing us talk about loving pepperocinis over our salads brought us a plate of extras without being asked. She was super attentive and casual we didn't feel rushed at all. It wasn't a busy Monday night but we were there for a long time waiting on someone running late. Prologue: Following a truly wonderful New Years Eve performance by the Phoenix Symphony, my fiancee and I found ourselves in search of a nice place to have a late dinner. We did not have any specific plans and, after spending a few minutes discussing our options, my fiancee suggested we have a look around downtown Chandler. After a stroll around Chandler Park we settled on this restaurant, which was more our style and, therefore, more inviting than most of the other establishments nearby. The Plot: We started by sharing a order of Onion Rings (primarily because I just happened to be in the mood). That was followed by the Lobster & Turf entree, which consisted of a garden salad (with blue cheese dressing and crumbles), a broiled lobster tail, and 8oz filet mignon, thin cut french fries for my fiancee, and a baked potato for me. The Scene: We were delighted to be seated immediately upon arriving despite not having made reservations on New Years Eve. We had a cozy side table for two fairly close to the front of the restaurant where it was less crowded and more comfortable. The atmosphere was quite festive yet refined, rather than debaucherous, which made for a nice continuation of an evening that began at the symphony. Service was quick, prompt, courteous, and plentiful. The appetizer and salad were both very good, plenty for the two of us, and succeeded in getting us in the mood for our entree. The portion sizes for the entree were perfect for us as well. We ordered the steak medium rare, however and it was prepared closer to rare although not a bit bloody, which was perfectly fine with us because it was more tender and flavorful that way. The lobster tail was nicely presented and properly seasoned for surf & turf. The sides were both spot on with plenty of butter, sour cream, and chives for the baked potato. The Rest of the Story: A standard up-charge was applied for sharing the entree, however it was well worth it because we were served considerably more food than a single diner would have been. The lobster was just a little overcooked, however plenty of melted butter made up for it. Epilogue: My perspective on New Years Eve dinner is that it is more of an experience than an meal and this restaurant delivered exactly what we were looking for that night. The food on its own deserved 3 stars; however the availability of a table on short notice with no wait along with the great service warranted another star. read more

We have eaten at DC Steakhouse 4 times since they have moved into their new location. Last night was the most disappointed we have been. We had family in town and for the last night we wanted to have a great dinner, and DC Steakhouse disappointed. Maybe it's the pandemic, the talent shortage, or just poor management, but the food was below average. Their pasta machine was not working so my wife could not order her favorite dish, the lemon chicken and pasta. The two people that ordered the chicken received two very charred chicken breast and some mushrooms, that was the extent of the presentation. The lobster in the lobster mash was mushy and flavorless. The prawns with the filet were below average, the prawns overcooked and salty, the filet temperature internal was a good they got the medium rare, but very charred, almost burnt on the outside. There was so much wrong with all six entrees there was no need to complain, it was gallows humor at this point. We just accepted that the pandemic has caused this place to abandon all quality standards and slip. DO NOT bother ordering the Key Lime pie, we ordered two, they are very thin tarts, the crust is thicker than the filling, they had a chance to recover with desert and that was a joke. DC please step it up. Our server Kevin was pleasant and apologetic, he can only do so much. The kitchen has to step up. read more

My husband and I had never been to DC's. We decided to celebrate our anniversary there as this steakhouse had great reviews. When we arrived we were greeted by a very unpleasant hostess. I had requested a booth in our reservation and there was some available however the hostess wouldn't allow us to have it. The hostess was very to us to the point we had to escalate to a manager. The manager Jessica was very nice and comped us an $8 appetizer. My husband ordered a $72 filet and I ordered $171 plate of king crab. Our server was great however the food expectation was high as the price point was high. My crab was delivered stacked on top of each other with a plain baked potato. The crab was extremely fishy and The appearance was something to be disappointed in. We are extremely disappointed in the hostess, the price point of the food, the plating of the food and most importantly the food quality. I love king crab and this crab was terrible. read more

Dean Laplant (manager) came through for me and got us reservations for us in a pinch when we forgot to on Christmas Eve! Our table was ready as soon as we walked in (right after church at 4:30) and we were enjoying their excellent accommodations... the steaks were excellent (we had the ribeye/filet and my wife had the house specialty, pan fried lemon chicken (to die for). Cannot recommend enough. Good food can be found in lots of places but good people who care about your experience is quite another... applause DC Steakhouse! We went for dinner on Friday night and this place exceeded our expectations. To start we ordered the calamari and cold crab cocktail. The crab was incredibly fresh and the calamari was delicious! Both were huge portion sizes. The stars of the night were the sides, we ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, lobster mash and creamed spinach. They loaded the lobster in both sides. Seriously all three were so good. Highly recommend! The steaks themselves were alright. I'm excited to go back and try more of the menu. The hotel recommended this steakhouse to us and we can see why. What's not to like about Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds and Calamari for starters. How about a Ribeye and a lobster tail cooked to perfection over a open fire served with a wonderful Caesar salad and thinly fried sweet potato fries. The food is excellent here and the service is very good. It's nice and cozy inside with a very casual vibe. The drinks are very good so that's makes your dinner taste even better. Didn't think we would have room for dessert but once we saw the Cheesecake we changed our minds. What a great ending to our meal. read more

We've been waiting for our favorite restaurants to open. Of course, the staff have been wearing masks and doing extra cleaning. Unfortunately, DC Steakhouse does not believe in protecting themselves and their patrons from Coronavirus. No one was wearing a mask. Very sad. We will wait until after the virus vacine becomes widely used next year and then try DC again. We enjoyed the ambience of the former location. I can understand the placement of the new location being located at the new hotel. BTW, our Uber driver drove us to the old location and we walked the short distance to the new place. We've been wanting to try this place after driving past over a year. We decided to stop in on a Sunday afternoon for our wedding anniversary. It wasn't really busy at all for a happy hour time in my opinion. Service was slow but our waiter was nice. The happy hour items weren't too bad but we ordered off of the regular menu for dinner. I ordered lamb chops medium and the cook was right but honestly they seemed tough and I could barely cut through parts of it. My husband ordered the filet medium but it just didn't hit the spot like filets I usually order at restaurants that weren't even as expensive. We ordered a side of lobster Mac and it was very heavy and creamy. It just had a small claw piece of meat laid on top and didn't have the meat chopped up and mixed in. Not the best I've had. Honestly the baked potato was the best part but that is no hard task. I really wanted to love this place but I won't be dropping a couple hundred here again because it definitely was not worth it. We've been wanting to go here since they moved to the new location. We used to frequent their old location because we felt their food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Their new location is absolutely beautiful. But It appears their menu prices have gone up quite a bit. For four people with one cheaper bottle of wine ($40) and dinner with 15% tip was $300. I normally tip 20% or more but the service was extremely extremely slow. Took forever to even get our drinks! Then we had to flag him down to give them our order for dinner which also took a long time. Once we got it, the food was excellent!The server was pleasant but I think he was slammed so something has to change in either the way they seat people timing wise or something. I wouldn't go there if you're in a rush to get somewhere afterwards. We will go back but we won't be going back as frequently as we used to at former location with these prices. DC Steakhouse in Chandler has been a "go-to" place for me for steaks. Well until last night that is. Though the food is good, a bit pricey but I really enjoyed the filet mignon. I'm an organizer of a Meetup group in the area and we've been to this place many times as a group of 10 or more. A favorite. But last night be the last time I organize a group to come here. They instituted a new policy of groups of 8 or more can't do separate checks. We been here before and no problem, in fact last week we were at a lower quality place and our waitress has no problems separate checks. It's not Hard!!! Decent food, a bit overpriced but decent to say the least. Not overly friendly staff, but okay. The problem came when we wanted to pay the bill. I handed the server a company award visa card and she said we do not accept them, and it is written on the menu. I explained I had never been there before, but they did not give a dam. I left the gift card there as collateral and drove home to get my wallet which I misplaced. When I arrived I asked to pay my bill. Apparently they thought I stiffed them, because they had to re-ring it. The problem then began, when the manager on duty got really snippy with me and grabbed my business card and credit card . I believe she wanted a record of me in case I perhaps used a stolen card. I grabbed my card back and she said sign the bill and leave. I asked who the owner was and she said she was. I replied, you are the owner?? I do not believe that. She then said, well I am the manager on duty and said please leave again. In all my years I have never been treated like a thief, and this place topped the cake. I live in the area and always wanted to try the place. I really do not know how they are in businesses with someone working for them, who can not treat someone with at least human decency. We had 10 of us for a friends 50th Saturday night, we had 2 servers so you would have thought the service would have been good... not so much. Horrible service and 5 steaks came out almost raw that had to be sent back and it took 30 minutes to get the back when 1/2 the table was done eating. We spoke to a gentleman who say he was the GM but he looked like he had been up for days and was dressed like he had been in those clothes for days. The Good: Atmosphere was lovely. They have a really cute space. Our server was super sweet. The French fries are tasty. Their mushrooms were tasty too. The Meh: My husband said his steak was ok. Not quite as good as we can do at home with meat from the butcher, not quite as good as Texas Roadhouse, but not as bad as Outback or Applebees. After all of the following "bad", the lovely server brought us a slice of cake on the house. (Nice & relatively tasty if a tad bit dry, however we're on a diet so only ate a couple bites anyhow.) The Bad: To spite their sign containing the word "cocktail" they do not actually have fruit here. That means if you order something like a Gin Ricky, all you get is disappointment in a glass. (Bar lime = Gross) This may not be a big deal to most, but we came here because of wanting a nice cocktail. Hell, it was in the sign! A very bad start. The bread they give you pre-meal is dry, cold, and reminiscent of averaged sliced bread. The salad was a nice blend of lettuce, but no idea why they serve it with a full quarter of a tomato. (Seriously? Dice or spring for cherry tomatoes) Also, maybe find a new source for pepperoncinis, maybe one where the peppers aren't petrified like ancient wood. DO NOT ORDER FISH! Three bites of the Walleye & I had collected half a dozen bones. Not just tiny ribs either. A couple were like ribs + cartilage that were seriously choking hazards. We're very non-confrontational folk, but this was too much. When brought to our servers attention she apologized profusely & offered something else, but said the fish just had bones and a different fillet would probably have them too. I don't know who they have as their chef, but he should be kept far away from fish. All animals have bones! I still don't want to eat them. Any reasonable chef knows to look over a raw filet & pluck ribs. Please, please, please, DO NOT ORDER FISH FOR SMALL CHILDREN OR OLDER FOLK. Not exaggerating, it's a choking hazard & you will get zero warning. Really wanted to like it here, but will not come back. Get some fruit to offer a "complete" bar & maybe find a more experienced chef. I don't expect perfection, but for the price point this should have been much better. read more

DC steakhouse is regarded as a higher end steakhouse. However this was not our experience. The salads looked like they came from a low end pizza fast food chain. The quality of their food overall was comparable to Texas Roadhouse except they charge double the price. Service was mediocre at best.
