We came around lunchtime and luckily were able to find seating without too much trouble. The interior felt cosy and clean, though the seating can feel a little bit tight. The quality of the ingredients was solid, everything tasted fresh. The meat was cooked just right, it was tender and not overdone. Service was also a highlight: the owner was very friendly and checked in on us regularly. There's a condiments and side dish bar as well. While the side dish selection is limited, it's only $1, so no complains there. So why the 3 stars? Just a couple things that I feel like could have been done better. First, the food came out extremely slowly for me. The rest of my table had nearly finished their mini hotpots by the time mine finally started boiling. I then had to rush through an extremely hot pot while everyone else waited, which wasn't the most enjoyable experience. Second, I ordered the "Hot" spice level. The spiciness itself was excellent, but unfortunately it overwhelmed the other flavors. I've had dishes that are spicier than this, but were still flavorful and fragrant. Here, at the hot spice level, the mini hotpot tasted mostly just spicy, without much depth. If I were in the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. That said, if someone invited me, I'd be open to trying a different option. Overall, a solid 3 stars, maybe inching a bit towards 3.5. For a mini hotpot the food was cooked really well! Meat was not over cooked and the vegetables are still crisp. The service was great, the owner was very good at coming to see if there's anything you need. The ambience is pretty nice. Smooth jazz with hotpot is a nice relaxing feeling. This is nothing like the renowned De Zhuang I have in mind. It's more like Boiling Point Hot Pot + a sauce bar. Speaking of the sauce bar, it met the minimum without any fruits. The sesame oil was just plain oil, zero sesame flavor, not even artificial, which isn't terrible, I guess. I ordered the Thai style golden broth seafood, but nothing about it was Thai. Absolutely nothing. They should've just called it Chinese hot and sour so I could've adjusted my expectations and wouldn't have been so disappointed. I loved the bean thread noodle and liked the fish. The other ingredients were average, except the imitation crab was literally crap!! I never knew imitation crab could be that bad! I spitted it out, which almost never happened. The broth was good as a broth, but again not a Thai broth. It still deserves a try. Given the Bellevue food standard and all the options in the food court, including Hainan chicken, malatang... etc. There's a lot to improve in order to survive. Great service. Nice decor but too bright for a good ambiance. I would've given these comments in person if they took the time to talk to me. If you fish out the amount of oil there is. The meats were good as well nothing wrong there. We got the sauce bar and rice for $1. There's some selections but not a lot compared to some other hot pot places around. But the rice is included with the sauce bar and I quite liked that as usually there's a charge for each bowl of rice elsewhere. The interior was well decorated. There's a decent amount of seating and you can also take out as well. This isn't a place I'd come very often. Superb! This hotpot was definitely similar to Boiling Point, but a tad bit smaller and apparently a lot of more variety of hotpot broth. The environment and the service here were very welcoming and very quick to serve with a smile on their faces. As someone who has Asian immigrant family members and pretty much lives with them under a daily basis, I understand the complications of people (or rather person in the review section) misunderstanding their service as underwhelming and uninviting. Though I will say that the server did forget to serve us our 2/3 plates of fish that we purchased after we got our broth, but they were willing to grab our plates as soon as we reminded them so all is well! Even though my family of 5 PLUS 2 of my cousins came barging in, they were willing to accommodate to our standards and meet them quite well! As for the food itself, I've only tried the Vegan Hotpot Broth, and surprisingly it's really good! I as a person love to eat MEAT but having my family choose the vegan broth for me helped me open up to new flavors and I certainly would try it again here!
