I recently had dinner at Del Frisco's for the first time since COVID started and forgot how delicious the food is! I came with a group of 6 and we had a great meal. This is definitely a spot that you can't really order "wrong." I've tried a good amount of their menu items over the years and have enjoyed everything. The wild mushroom flatbread was packed with Arugula and mushrooms, a perfect appetizer to split with one other person. They can also make it on gluten free crust which is always appreciated! This was my first time trying their crispy artichoke appetizer and certainly won't be my last! They're lightly breaded with Parmesan cheese and come with a decadent caesar dressing on the side. Another must-order appetizer. In the past the steakhouse salad has been my go-to entree (it's the most filling salad on earth, comes with a generous portion of steak and a bunch of other toppings). However this time I decided to try their grilled salmon entree, which is served on top of asparagus. It's a very light dish but still really delicious and filling! read more

Pro tip: They'll give you bread for the table if you know about it and if you ask. It's warm and light and comes paired with soft butter. Not sure why they're keeping this a secret. Amazing location right on the river, but you'll never know once you're inside, since the bar takes up the space by the front windows. The rest of the restaurant is big and filled with booths and tables floating in between. I noted that it was my mothers birthday on the reservation, and we got seated towards the back of the restaurant, at a table in the middle of the room, and next to a family of eight. The food was decent. To be honest, I expected it to be better. The standout to me was the side of mushrooms - a generous portion and a variety of 2-3 types. Of course the cheesesteak eggrolls didn't disappoint either - crispy outside, savory beef inside, and a spicy sauce. We ended up adding another order of the eggrolls since they're a crowd pleaser. I had the branzino and it was lighted coated and fried on the outside, but unfortunately none of the flavors truly stood out. Tried a few of the steaks and they were good cuts of meat, but nothing to write home about. Service was pretty good. We ran into a few snags. My 85 year old midwestern grandma wanted a glass of white zinfandel, she knows certain things and that's all she wants, and they ended up bringing her a glass of white sangria. We explained the confusion to the server and one other person, but ended up paying for the wrong drink anyway. As a midwestern gal, she would never raise a big fuss. As mentioned, it was my moms birthday as well. She made a joke about birthday specials, and it came up several times throughout the meal. But when it came time for dessert, they actually offer a free dessert for dining on your birthday, nobody said anything and she actually had to find the server and ask. The shaved steak sandwich looked really yummy. The honey mustard was great. All in all, would probably come here if someone wanted to meet here. The parking sucks per usual. I recently visited Del Frisco for the second time in the pandemic. This time we took a couple of our friends. We called in advance to make a reservation, as there is always a wait in the Hoboken location. We ordered Crispy Artichokes, Cauliflower steak and Fillet Mignon for the very first time. The food is definitely pricey and the portions are good for one person. The flavors were just fine, nothing stood out or impressive. However the atmosphere is always great and the restaurant is right across the New York skyline, which is an added bonus. read more

This is a wonderful establishment next to the river. The indoor seating areas are very trendy and I enjoyed the display of wine selections on their walls and above their bar. I came by for lunch and had the shaved steak sandwich and au jour sauce as shown in the photo. My only complaint is I only wished the size of the sandwich was a little bit larger since it was SO GOOD. The price I thought was also fair - but if the searching size was just a little bit larger I'd be visiting this place even more. I did not try any of the wines however maybe another time. My husband and I went for an early dinner on Friday night with our daughter to celebrate our daughter's 1st birthday. I have to say for the amount of times we have dinner at del friscos and for the amount of money we spent here tonight, I am astounded that they didn't even bring out a cheap scoop of ice cream with a candle for her. The hostesses and waiters were well aware we were celebrating her 1st birthday along with the managers who came around to wish her a happy birthday. To add insult to injury, my husband went to get the car and I was struggling to open the door with a baby, diaper bag and bag of food and the manager and hostesses just stared at me struggle and didn't even help me with the door. You're going to lose a lot of business from my family del friscos. There are plenty of respectable hoboken restaurants that care about their patrons and family values. We'll find a new favorite neighborhood spot. Also the food has become pretty average, super salty, and the martinis which used to be good now suck- too much vermouth. read more

The staff was nice when they were around, but hard to find when you needed something. The food was pretty good, but again it is on the pricier side and neither the service, ambiance, or uniqueness of the food makes up for it. It would be a good place to go if you just need something a little special for the night, but I feel like there are better options out there. Chose Del Frisco's Grille for dinner with coworkers last night for two main reasons - location (hello waterfront!) and size (one of the bigger restaurants in town and we didn't have a reservation). Overall it was a fine experience. Nothing was wrong with our dinner, and yet nothing jumped out. The food was good (our party ordered the steak salad, salmon, fish & chips, and a farro salad with chicken) and portion sizes were fine, but overall it was relatively expensive for what it was. Came here on a whim and luckily got seated without a wait. Reservations are recommended here especially in the cooler months. We started with a slightly dirty martini with titos and blue cheese olives and a bottle of wine ($55). Martini was made perfect and the bottle of wine was reasonably priced. For appetizers we got a mushroom flatbread and deviled eggs. Mushroom Flatbread was great but could have been a tad crispier especially for a flatbread. Deviled eggs were perfect. For one of the entrees, was a 12 ounce Filet Mignon with Brussel Sprouts. Filet had a nice char on it and was cooked perfect. Brussel Sprouts were on point. The second entree was a 16 ounce Ribeye with a side of asparagus. The ribeye had a bit more fat than I would have liked but was delicious. For the asparagus, I prefer thin pieces and crispier, these were huge and not crispy. Nothing on the dessert menu appealed to us, so we decided on 2 dessert cocktails instead. I've tried the Del Frisco's in FiDi and thought it was meh. I don't know why I thought this one would be any better, but it was really the Hudson Restaurant Week lunch deal that convinced me to give it a try. For $20, you get a choice of an app (deviled eggs with truffle chive vinaigrette, artichoke beignets with sweet basil dressing, iceberg lettuce wedge) and an entree (grilled prime cheeseburger, hand-shaved prime steak sandwich, kale and brussel sprouts salad with chicken, or salmon). The apps were pretty lackluster. I had the deviled eggs, and I really didn't taste any truffle. My BF has the artichoke beignets, and I didn't taste the artichoke. The only thing good about that dish was the sweet basil dressing, which I ended up using for my deviled eggs to add some flavor. For the entrees, we decided to do the burger and the sandwich and just go halfsies on each. The burger was good. It reminded me of a fancier version of a Shake Shack burger. The hand-shaved steak was just dry and bland. Both come with fries (which the menu does not mention) but the fries taste old and greasy. I don't think I'd come back, even with another Restaurant Week deal. I also don't think I'll go back to Del Frisco's in general. Haven't stopped by in quite a while so I was glad to stop back in for a late dinner Friday evening - we sat at the bar. Eric the bartender couldn't have been nicer, there was also other people behind the bar who were happy to grab us anything we needed. Overall solid experience! We started off with drinks (dirty martini & pinot noir) and the ahi tuna tacos - perfect to share. We both ordered salads and side of fries. Let me start by saying that the bone-in ribeye that I had at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse was one of the, if not the, best steaks I've ever had. That said, we came to Del Frisco's Grille for my brother's 30th birthday /mother's day celebration. My cocktail was great and we really enjoyed the salads (wedge, heirloom tomato burrata & brussels sprouts kale) and Cajun Lobster Mac & Cheese (special) appetizers. I love their truffle mac & cheese normally so I was excited to try the lobster mac, and it was SO GOOD and full of lobster. There was a bone-in ribeye special which I split with my sister-in-law. It was cooked perfectly rare and I assume would have been very enjoyable if not exorbitantly covered in processed black pepper (not freshly ground, mind you). This is not something I experienced at the Double Eagle Steakhouse, or any other of the high end steakhouses I've been to. Normally they will come around with a pepper mill and ask if you'd like freshly ground pepper on your steak, but the overwhelming amount of processed ground pepper made it hard for me to even tell what the steak might have tasted like. Skip the asparagus side and get the brussels sprouts (bacon makes everything better). My mom ordered the burger after much deliberation once the waitress told us that it could not be cooked medium rare and would only be cooked medium well. It was very crispy which gave it an interesting texture but the patties were insanely dry. I thought the flavor was decent though lackluster, so due to the texture/quality of meat I wouldn't order again. The waitress & the bartender were lovely, by the way. Once we were finally seated (after waiting 20 minutes even though the restaurant was empty AND we had a reservation, just because 2 of the 8 of us were stuck in traffic) we had wonderful service. The wine menu could use a little more diversity. I'm partial to low intervention wines but I would have been happy to at least see one Gamay or lighter red available. read more

Shaved lettuce, Bread & Butter pickles, sloppy sauce, choice of side. $16 for the sandwich Pros: Thin, crispy juicy chicken. Love the brioche bun. Love the sauce and pickles and everything about it. Says "sloppy sauce" but wasn't sloppy at all. Cons: The chicken can be HUGE. Like bigger than the bun. I had to cut around the chicken to shape it to the bun. But the chicken itself was like a bonus treat like getting a side of chicken fingers WITH your sandwich. Overall score, i'd put into a category of 8.5 out of 10. It's simply wonderful. Is it a "I need to drive 30 minutes outside of Hoboken to get this sandwich good" - NO. But it is "I live on 14th street and should travel all the way downtown to try it good?" - YES. My family dined at DF Grille in Manhattan before seeing a show back in the fall. My daughter really enjoyed it, so she asked if we could go back for her birthday (16th). Since her b'day fell on a weeknight and we are super busy with school and sports, we decided the Hoboken property checked all the boxes. Good food for my daughter and her friends, semi- upscale for the adults - perfect. I called ahead of time to let them know we were celebrating a birthday and the manager said she would note it and let her staff know. When we got to the restaurant I was not greeted at all. I stood for what felt like 20 minutes while the hostess(slowly) helped the couple in front of me. She did not even acknowledge my presence. She literally ignored me and the 7 people in my party standing behind me. She slowly brought the couple in front of me to their table and then proceeded to disappear for another 5 minutes before coming back for us. We got seated, and there was nothing on the table acknowledged my daughter's birthday. I wasn't expecting balloons and fanfare, but literally there was acknowledgment whatsoever that we were celebrating anything. It was like a regular dinner for the staff it seemed. When we got settled, our waiter took our drink orders. My niece asked for a root beer and the waiter asked to see her ID...So we obviously laughed that off but then my other niece asked for a Shirley Temple and the waiter said they don't have grenadine. Ok - so she got a Sprite, no bid deal. We got our drinks and then our waiter disappeared for what felt like 30 minutes this time. We were actually looking for him that's how long it was. Finally he comes back and takes our order. The waiter spoke very very low - it was almost a whisper. He seemed unsure of the menu. My mother in law ordered the crab cake app for dinner. She wasn't starving and she was sharing a side with my niece, so the crab cake was more than enough for her appetite. About 10 minutes after we ordered the waiter comes back and says they are out of crab cakes. Annoying as it was she had to order an entree because nothing else on the app menu was what she wanted. What was funny was that shortly after that my husband went to use the rest room and said that they must have gotten more crab cakes because he noticed more than a few on peoples plates. Super shady but at that point our food was probably almost done. When our food comes out, my side of spinach doesn't arrive. I wait and wait and wait and still - no spinach. Finally when I was halfway done with my meal my spinach arrives. It's a good thing my husband was really hungry because I was really full at that point and I was over the spinach. Then ... my niece says to me ... "I have a hair in my food". She proceeds to pull out a lengthy hair which was pretty deep in her Mac and Cheese. We start looking for the waiter and what do you know - another hair! Our waiter came over and apologized and offered to replace it. We said we would take it to go. Our dinners, sans the hair were good, not amazing. We decided against dessert because at that point we were fed up with the poor service and wanted to go home. My father in law got up to stretch his legs and happened to see the manager and brought up the hair issue. He asked if that was normal practice for the restaurant to just offer a replacement - it seemed like they were brushing us off. She said that no one that works in the kitchen has long blonde hair so it must have been someone's hair at our table. My father in law noted that the hair was embedded in her food and we didn't examine the color of the hair - we just asked that the waiter take the food away because it was gross. Before taking our payment the manager came over and said she removed my daughter's steak from our bill. I thought it was very nice of her, but we shouldn't have to go to extremes to get something like a hair in our food acknowledged at a place representing the Del Frisco brand. All in all we were really disappointed. The food was good - not mind blowing. Again, it was DF Grille and not their Double Eagle. so I wasn't expecting that level of service. However we have always been fans of DF Grille for an above average casual meal and I'm sad to say we won't be back unfortunately. Me and my wife stop by here on my birthday, we ordered a bunch of small plates. We both started with a crab cake each for appetizers. she order sticky ribs with French fries. I had the fry chicken sandwich with sweet potatoes fries and buffalo wings (dry rub). We enjoyed the food and both had some to take home. I enjoyed everything but my wife didn't really enjoy the crab cake as she was expecting to taste the same as del frisco eagle eye steak house. She did enjoy her main dish. Atmosphere was good and our waiter was cool, she even look out and gave us me complimentary slice of cake for my birthday and was really good. This is an exceptional restaurant with an extraordinary buildout and a location and view of 6th Ave. that is truly dramatic. The food is magnificent and although pricey, it takes extra cost to deliver best in class steakhouse fare. The seafood tower was exciting in its presentation and the quality of each component was truly first class. And who can forget the large glass of lump crab meat in a generous portion sitting on top like the star on top of a Christmas tree. The steaks, tuna and sides were perfectly prepared from the finest ingredients and presented beautifully. Thoroughly enjoyed my first outdoor dining experience since the onset of COVID-19. It is easier to make a reservation by calling as opposed to a reservation app. While I was placed on a 8 minute hold, the receptionist was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. A text was sent confirming the reservation. We arrived about 15 mins. early but we were seated immediately. (You have to go inside the restaurant to check-in.) The outdoor area is sectioned off nicely. There are umbrellas over the tables and there was plenty of space between parties; it was quite comfortable. All of the staff had on masks and gloves. My date and I ordered from the Mix & Match Menu. The filet mignon was cooked to order (our server ensured this by checking by light which was a nice touch). The Petit Lobster Tail was in fact petit, so beware if you are hungry. It was delicious. We ordered asparagus, truffle Mac & cheese and sweet potato frites as sides. All were as good as expected. Overall it was a great dining experience with nice views of the Hudson and NYC in the background. read more

Parking sucks. In nearby area there's street parking if you're lucky. Lights quickly changing and pple walking in street have you at stand still or driving 2mph . In closest parking lot visibly open at the time the spaces were so small you literally squeeze and I mean squeeze to get in and out. And you say a prayer for your car that the pple on opposite sides care. I changed Reservations to 8:30 Saturday night due to being late looking for parking . We get there & was still seated promptly (table for two). Waitress was nice but appeared over it / ready to go home. No utensils or napkins on our table we ended up taking from another table after waitress ONLY brought us steak knives. Cloth napkin was filthy . Asked for napkins and we were brought same type from bathroom. She asked if we wanted to box eggroll (see pic) lol we didn't even get food yet . On to food the cheesesteak eggrolls were bleh they were crispy but the meat tasted sort of old .. my strip steak covered in garlic butter and it's own burnt juices was still dry!!! I was asked to check (medium well) by cutting in middle which was fine but plot twist I later discovered the right side was very pink. My bf roast chicken was so dry neither one of us could chew it. We basically left both our entire meals. Only thing we finished by sharing! was truffle mac &cheese that was pretty good. Now we're ready to go due to not eating we looked for the waitress for over 20 min . A guy ?supervisor finally asked if we needed help we said check please. He asked if we wanted to box our meals we said no he said ok. Ok? Patrons leave 2 plates full of food and response is just ok? Wow sorry but I'm not a fan. read more

Ambiance was great. Service was fantastic. Appetizers were delicious. Two of us ordered the Filet mignon w crabmeat. Nothing special. Just ok. The drinks were the best part of dinner. They were all delicious. Would definitely go back for apps and drinks. read more
