My family dined at DF Grille in Manhattan before seeing a show back in the fall. My daughter really enjoyed it, so she asked if we could go back for her birthday (16th). Since her b'day fell on a weeknight and we are super busy with school and sports, we decided the Hoboken property checked all the boxes. Good food for my daughter and her friends, semi- upscale for the adults - perfect. I called ahead of time to let them know we were celebrating a birthday and the manager said she would note it and let her staff know. When we got to the restaurant I was not greeted at all. I stood for what felt like 20 minutes while the hostess(slowly) helped the couple in front of me. She did not even acknowledge my presence. She literally ignored me and the 7 people in my party standing behind me. She slowly brought the couple in front of me to their table and then proceeded to disappear for another 5 minutes before coming back for us. We got seated, and there was nothing on the table acknowledged my daughter's birthday. I wasn't expecting balloons and fanfare, but literally there was acknowledgment whatsoever that we were celebrating anything. It was like a regular dinner for the staff it seemed. When we got settled, our waiter took our drink orders. My niece asked for a root beer and the waiter asked to see her ID...So we obviously laughed that off but then my other niece asked for a Shirley Temple and the waiter said they don't have grenadine. Ok - so she got a Sprite, no bid deal. We got our drinks and then our waiter disappeared for what felt like 30 minutes this time. We were actually looking for him that's how long it was. Finally he comes back and takes our order. The waiter spoke very very low - it was almost a whisper. He seemed unsure of the menu. My mother in law ordered the crab cake app for dinner. She wasn't starving and she was sharing a side with my niece, so the crab cake was more than enough for her appetite. About 10 minutes after we ordered the waiter comes back and says they are out of crab cakes. Annoying as it was she had to order an entree because nothing else on the app menu was what she wanted. What was funny was that shortly after that my husband went to use the rest room and said that they must have gotten more crab cakes because he noticed more than a few on peoples plates. Super shady but at that point our food was probably almost done. When our food comes out, my side of spinach doesn't arrive. I wait and wait and wait and still - no spinach. Finally when I was halfway done with my meal my spinach arrives. It's a good thing my husband was really hungry because I was really full at that point and I was over the spinach. Then ... my niece says to me ... "I have a hair in my food". She proceeds to pull out a lengthy hair which was pretty deep in her Mac and Cheese. We start looking for the waiter and what do you know - another hair! Our waiter came over and apologized and offered to replace it. We said we would take it to go. Our dinners, sans the hair were good, not amazing. We decided against dessert because at that point we were fed up with the poor service and wanted to go home. My father in law got up to stretch his legs and happened to see the manager and brought up the hair issue. He asked if that was normal practice for the restaurant to just offer a replacement - it seemed like they were brushing us off. She said that no one that works in the kitchen has long blonde hair so it must have been someone's hair at our table. My father in law noted that the hair was embedded in her food and we didn't examine the color of the hair - we just asked that the waiter take the food away because it was gross. Before taking our payment the manager came over and said she removed my daughter's steak from our bill. I thought it was very nice of her, but we shouldn't have to go to extremes to get something like a hair in our food acknowledged at a place representing the Del Frisco brand. All in all we were really disappointed. The food was good - not mind blowing. Again, it was DF Grille and not their Double Eagle. so I wasn't expecting that level of service. However we have always been fans of DF Grille for an above average casual meal and I'm sad to say we won't be back unfortunately. Several other patrons saw the mouse too, and we spent quite some time heatedly discussing what we should do - should we even finish our food, or just leave immediately in disgust? Thoroughly enjoyed my first outdoor dining experience since the onset of COVID-19. It is easier to make a reservation by calling as opposed to a reservation app. While I was placed on a 8 minute hold, the receptionist was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. A text was sent confirming the reservation. We arrived about 15 mins. early but we were seated immediately. (You have to go inside the restaurant to check-in.) The outdoor area is sectioned off nicely. There are umbrellas over the tables and there was plenty of space between parties; it was quite comfortable. All of the staff had on masks and gloves. My date and I ordered from the Mix & Match Menu. The filet mignon was cooked to order (our server ensured this by checking by light which was a nice touch). The Petit Lobster Tail was in fact petit, so beware if you are hungry. It was delicious. We ordered asparagus, truffle Mac & cheese and sweet potato frites as sides. All were as good as expected. On to food the cheesesteak eggrolls were bleh they were crispy but the meat tasted sort of old .. my strip steak covered in garlic butter and it's own burnt juices was still dry!!! I was asked to check (medium well) by cutting in middle which was fine but plot twist I later discovered the right side was very pink. My bf roast chicken was so dry neither one of us could chew it. We basically left both our entire meals. Only thing we finished by sharing! was truffle mac &cheese that was pretty good. Now we're ready to go due to not eating we looked for the waitress for over 20 min . A guy ?supervisor finally asked if we needed help we said check please. Cocktails are good but nothing special, and we usually come for dinner. Like I said it's OK for all meals of the day. This time around we came for brunch and sat outside (social distanced of course). I did appreciate that, since it was rather gloomy out, we were given a "what to do if it rains" paper that explained how we wouldn't be allowed into the restaurant but they can pack up our order to go. At least they think ahead. I do like their pineapple crush cocktail. It's like their signature, so if you go there, definitely get it just to say you have. Future husband was in the mood for a sandwich so he got a shaved steak one and the au jus came on the side as did the horseradish - this was good and we liked that because horseradish is the type of thing you're just never sure about. If you want to put it on, good, spread some. I got a salmon salad which was a nice size for a lunch portion. I enjoyed it. But again, this stuff was all very average and expensive for being a step above bar food. My friend decided to treat to an early Easter dinner. He has been cooking professionally for over 2 decades. He decided to splurge on a meal since he doesn't often get the time. Del Frisco's is a name synonymous with quality steaks. Come to find out there is absolutely NO RELATION to Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse. The name is where the similarities stop. We arrived early and were seated pretty much immediately. Our waiter, Patrick, was friendly and attentive. For it being Easter, the place wasn't too crazy. It was busy but not crazy. We started with a shrimp cocktail appetizer which arrived promptly. The highlight of the evening were the old fashioned cocktails. Everything else was pretty much downhill from there. Our main courses took 50 minutes after our appetizer to arrive. My friend ordered a filet, his son steak frites, and his other son and I got burgers. The steak frites was a sad sad looking dish. It was ordered medium and served extra well. Tough and dry as a sandal. The burger was also dry and the fries cold. The fries were definitely made frozen from a bag and I suspect the burger patty might've had the same start. The filet ($50) was another sad looking dish. A dry tough petit filet served on a big plate. The quality of the food was subpar to put it nicely. I understand that during holidays service suffers, but the service we received was good from the wait staff. It's hard for a kitchen to deliver on their end when the starting product is as lackluster as the stuff this place serves. The 2 stars are for the cocktails and our waiter. Food gets a zero. I usually have very great experiences at Del Frisco's but I wasn't very thrilled with my meal here. The tables were on top of each other and it was difficult to even get into my seat with how close everyone is on top of each other. Were able to make reservations 2 hours before and were seated right away without any problems. Lay out is pretty open with a modern look, not unlike every other del Frisco's I've been to. We ordered a filet mignon, a salad, a burger, and a pizza and the cheese steak egg rolls from the appetizers. The food was just ok. The birthday boy devoured his steak so I assume that was pretty good. The pizza was just ok, I would describe it as bar food pizza. The steak rolls were a little salty but had some great flavor. The burger was over cooked, more medium well as opposed to medium rare. The fries here are a tragedy, soggy not crispy, and old-ish. Just avoid the fries at all costs. An excellent bare-bones version of a full fledged Del Frisco's. The steaks are as good, consistently. What separates this from other steak options in Hoboken is the apps and sides. For the apps, try the cheesecake egg rolls, and the tuna tacos. Amazing. The most underappreciated part of the meal? The southern chicken sandwich. Holy moly! It's huge and delicious. For a moment you'll almost think you are in the south. Additional notes I have in my book: Wine selection is excellent. They have stuff at all price points. The bar itself is a great place to have a few drinks while you wait for your reservation or even if you just want to head in and just get an app and a couple of drinks. Highly recommend this. 14 Oz. Bone-in Filet was excellent. I reluctantly allowed my guest to order it medium, but it turned out to be pretty tasty. Seasoned and cooked perfectly too. 16 Oz. Prime Ribeye was my choice, and the right one. Food (5/5) - For appetizers, we ordered the Artichoke Beignets and Devilled Eggs. The artichoke beignets are a must-have! Never had anything like it before and the sauce is amazing. - For entrees, we ordered the Hand-Shaved Prime Steak and the Simply-Prepared Salmon. The Citrus and Herb Vinaigrette on the salmon was honestly the best part of the meal and that's saying something. The Hand-Shaved Prime Steak tasted more like a french dip to me and I would probably order something different next time. - For a side, we ordered the Zucchini Parmesan which is so simple, but delicious! My mom and i love our cocktails and seeing that we had issues on which one we should get, our server was more than happy to select really good ones and boy did he NOT disappoint! It did take a while for us to get some water, which was crucial since we were planning on drinking a ton, but I figured that having three large parties in the dining room would require some extra hands so it wasn't a problem. Our food was soooo good, even my mothers salad that she ordered was amazing! At the end, our server also came in handing in recommending some desserts for our table. Sometimes, it's best to start at the very beginning, but in this case. I'd like to start with the end of our meal. The nutella bread pudding? It's downright unfair how delicious and perfect this is. Imagine a chocolate cake doughnut, chewy, crunchy, ooey, and gooey, with a beautifully rich and dark coffee ice cream on top. I needed to be pried away from this dish. It was so good. Yum. Anyway, to the rest of the meal. The restaurant is super conveniently located, about a two block walk from the path train and right on the water. It's also plenty spacious inside. One thing I really appreciated during an evening out with people who had some dietary needs, the gluten free options here abound. There are tons of options and they are labeled really clearly. We started with the grille dip duo. It's a creamy avocado dip, which was tasty, but surprisingly spicy, and sweet potato hummus, which was quite lovely. They also give you a variety of veggies to dip, plus some gluten free flatbread. It's not your run of the mill crudite either. Imagine radishes and endives, all beautiful! When I arrive the hostess (I'm assuming who hates her job) tells us she can't seat us until the whole party is here. I understood that but not on a Sunday when they're dead. Because when we sat it took awhile for someone to even come and ask us what we wanted to drink. Not only that but once everyone arrived the hostess with the mostest sat all of the other parties before even looking at mine. I felt she was being spiteful. The only customer service I experienced here was the guy who made my reservation. I wished he was there when I came in. They messed up my boyfriends order. He ordered a 10oz sirloin and they brought out an over cooked Filet Mignon. I cut my Filet in half and only ate the top part because of how cooked it was. It's over priced and in all not worth it. The service took forever. Nothing was phenomenal. I mean even the chef at chili's understands what medium rare is. The only good thing I had was the coconut dessert. If you're going to order one thing order that but if you're between Del Frisco's and another spot I'd choose the other spot. read more

I prefer the bone-in but I did not see that option. The menu did not specify that it was a boneless ribeye although I still devoured it. We started with the tuna tacos and cheesesteak eggrolls which were great and a real crowd pleaser. However, when it came to brunch the menu only had 2 breakfast items - a small steak skillet and steak and eggs. I got the steak and eggs off the limited menu which was $34. For the price I was not impressed. It was a pretty small piece of steak and the eggs were a bit too runny for my liking. Considering the prices, the food here is fine. Nothing about the food is exceptional, you're mainly paying for the ambiance and proximity to the water. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls which were good, but I've also had ones just as good as a $5 happy hour item at a random bar. I got the bbq shrimp Cobb which was actually really good! Yes they may be on the waterfront, but have fun ordering sub par, overpriced food with lackluster service and rude management that thinks they are a reputable steak house. This franchise needs to reconsider this location. It's no surprise that it only has a 3.5 star rating. Though some of the menu choices were very old school steakhouse, the things that were a bit more experimental were lovely. Yesterday we held a small (15 people) engagement celebration for our daughter here. We were able to use the separate room the restaurant had for our party which was terrific! I can't say enough about how fabulous everything was. Hector the GM really went above and beyond! It was a very rainy day, and Hector and his team helped us bring all of the decorations into the restaurant! We can't say enough about how delicious the food was, and how spotless the service was also! They really delivered and all the guests kept saying how magnificent the restaurant was. My colleague said they have ribs cooked different in London and meat falls apart but that was not case with this dish but he loved it! Rating 5/5 Market catch for the day- i had halibuts grilled with nice charred and grilled asparagus. I wasn't sure if it was perfectly cooked or medium. It tasted goood! Rating 4/5 Dessert - molten chocolate cake: this one is delicious. It comes with its chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream and wiped cream! It is devil's cake , I just loved it! If I could give this place zero stars I would. The menu looked great but the food was horrible. The French onion soup came out cold. Sent it back and it came back luke warm and didn't even taste good. The wait staff came to deliver our main courses and had no clue who ordered what. I asked which was the rare steak and the guy said well you took that plate so now we don't know. WHAT?? I didn't take it, it was put in front of me. Mind you I didn't even order steak. Went for Hudson Restaurant Week Lunch Food - 5/5. The artichoke beignets were wonderful puffs of joy. Each bite started with a satisfying crunch followed by the soft doughy center. Shaves of Parmesan gave it a rich saltiness while the sweet basil dressing was creamy and complimented the fried flavors well with its earthy tones. The steak in the sandwiches reached a great balance in thickness where it was easy to eat but still had that meaty texture. The rolls were nicely toasted and soft enough to chomp down. Au jus and horseradish sauce made the sandwich even more umami with a little zing to balance all the fats. French fries were crispy and a beautiful golden brown. The nutella bread pudding was very rich with plenty of chocolaty flavors in the bread pudding itself. The coffee ice cream was at a great temperature where it held its shape but was still easy to spoon. Awesome food. Service - 3/5. The server made it a bit too blatantly obvious she was disappointed in the amount of people taking up a booth spot and the service quality reflected it. It wasn't awful but it did affect the dining experience. Value - 5/5. The regular menu item prices are on the higher side but the food quality justifies it. Excellent fine dining establishment with a good view of the Hudson & NYC Skyline across the street. Came here to relax and unwind after a stressful 2020 and spend time with family and we were not disappointed. Service was fantastic, and food and drinks exceeded expectations. If you pay visit, be sure to try their Cheesesteak Eggrolls, Truffle Mac & Cheese, and any of their steak options (seasoning and tenderness is perfect). Can also never go wrong with Red Sangria either. Overall, Del Frisco's Grille checked all the boxes for a fine dining restaurant close to the Hudson. Del Frisco's Grille is a very welcome addition to the Hoboken dining scene. The restaurant wears many hats, as you can visit for an upscale steak dinner, or gastro-pub style comfort food, a satisfying lunch menu, or Sunday brunch. My latest endeavor was an evening dinner for two. The first thing you will notice is this new restaurant is super busy already and you should get a reservation at dinner hours. High ceilings, open kitchen, comfortable and spacious table or booth seating, the dining room looks and feels great. The bar is moderate-sized, but once it gets busy there's not a lot of elbow room there. Our server was so polite, efficient and well-trained I wish I asked his name to compliment him. Considering the busy dinner crowd, our meal was properly paced and enjoyable all the way through. We ordered the crab cake appetizer (one very good crab cake/satisfying but overpriced), and the iceberg lettuce wedge which was brilliant in its blue cheese and bacon simplicity. One thing clearly missing is a raw bar; a shrimp cocktail or oysters would have fit in well tonight. My friend ordered the NY strip which he enjoyed but didn't find it as memorable as other prime steakhouses he frequents. I ordered the prime ribeye which was delicious. A woman came out to watch us cut the steaks to make sure they were perfectly cooked. My medium-well was not 'perfect' per se, but close and not worth making a fuss. The steaks came with tasty garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert, the Lemon Doberge cake is indulgent, maybe a little too rich for my blood. The Nutella bread pudding was likewise a hearty and tasty dessert yet the presentation could be a bit better. I think both of us would try a different dessert on a return visit. The verdict? I would definitely go back. It's a fun, lively restaurant (perhaps a bit noisy for a date night) and I enjoyed the food. There are only a few places in Hoboken you can get a similar steak dinner experience. There are some moderate-priced entrees (meatloaf, roast chicken, burger, etc) If you want the experience but a less expensive tab. Give Del Frisco's Grille a try and enjoy! read more

You could not chew the shrimp to save your life and the risotto was .. unbearable. I had to send it back. If you're sensitive to mushy texture or you need seafood a certain way, do not order this. Long story short everything was cooked terribly. To make matters worse our waitress could not have been any slower with her service. You would of thought the restaurant was at max capacity with how badly she checked in on us. But, it wasn't.. it was low capacity because of covid. While searching for a place to eat on Sinatra drive, my friend and I tried this place. I wasn't in the mood for a huge steak but the menu does have a bunch of salads, fish, sandwiches, and flatbreads to satisfy the non steak eater. Location, location, location. The outdoor seating has amazing views of the Hudson River and NYC. We sat outside and I was very satisfied with my view and people watching. Service was attentive though it was hard to find our waitress after we paid. I got the lamb burger on a lettuce wrap with a side salad for $15.50. The burger could also come with a variety of fries but I opted for the salad. Lamb burger was good, not great. It seemed overlooked and the seasoning could have been stronger. Lettuce wrap was overpowering as the burger came with lettuce already so I felt like I was eating lettuce with a side of lamb burger - wish they had just cut down the amount of lettuce. Side salad was fine albeit tiny. My friend got a veggie burger and had the same comments as me. All in all - food is mediocre but great views and nice place to catch up with a friend. read more

The mushroom flat bread was the BEST thing we had here. The margarita was really good too. Unfortunately, my finance and I felt that the entrees were mediocre. There was nothing great about it. The Mac & cheese we could've done without, it wasn't really good. The decor and ambiance was great, our server was OK, and the food came out fast! I don't see myself going back. read more
