I came here on a whim one night after having heard about this place and wanted to like it since it is near my house. A taco place in a gas station in a suburb, what could go wrong? Well, first off, it is street taco, so very basic. The ordering is done in the corner of the mini mart and there is a small area to sit the size of a kitchen island. Most people just get these to-go however. I got the carne asada and barbacoa tacos. The meat was good, but a bit too ground for me. The flavor was pretty good, but not as bold as some other street taco places. The size was not very big either, and granted they are only $1.80 each, I expected more. I am sure I will try it again and will hopefully will have a better experience. read more

I only trust tacos if it's made in a gas station lmao and this one fits right in. The woman working the register was friendly and informative. I had to order the tacos to go but it was packaged in a nice to go container and still maintained its shape and fillings. The barbacoa was excellent and the salsas that came with it. I also got the fish was a little under seasoned and underwhelming. Also, I got the roasted pork and it was overly salty. They corn tortillas were excellent. I've been here twice now since recently moving to the area, and I'm ready to give it 5 stars; this is a legit Mexican taco shop. Now, I'm born and raised in El Paso, and I know a thing or two about Mexican food, believe me. The menu here isn't huuuge, but what they do have is all delicious. There are several types of tacos, some burritos, breakfast until a certain time, and menudo on weekends. The place is inside a gas station, which is also very convenient for picking up a sixer of your favorite brews to go with your meal. I think I've tried all the tacos now, they're about $2-3, maybe some are less, but I would consider the prices to be cheap. On my last trip I got 4-5 tacos and a burrito for $21. The staff is very nice, last time I went in was a Sunday around 12:30 for lunch and a lovely young lady was working the register. She was friendly and upbeat and even gave samples of the menudo and a new barbacoa torta that was off the chizzle. BTW the menudo is also legit and I will be back next weekend for a gallon of it. Taco shop in a gas station in the middle of McKinney. One of the best I've had in North Dallas. Here's a breakdown: Meat - tender, flavorful Barbacoa seems to be the highlight. Breakfast tacos have a good amount of filling but they don't serve most options after 11am. You can get an egg and cheese in the PM though! Tortilla - fresh, soft, slightly charred corn tortilla. My fav in town. Toppings - standard cilantro and onion Salsa - perfectly spicy! Also my fav in town. The red and green have good texture, flavor, and kick. I usually don't love both salsas at most places but these were delicious. Tacos here are a bit pricier than the usual $1-1.25 at other spots. Expect to spend $2-3 per taco, including tax. The amount of filling isn't huge even though the flavor is good. read more

Bookmarked this place a few months back as I was missing the street taco at nearly every block in Dallas. They are made in what is essentially a gas station with a small kitchen in the back. But don't let that deter you or stop you. The taco's are DELICIOUS! As far as the athmosphere its a gas station so it you are low on gas you'll love it. But we got them to go and they were just as amazing as I hope. My only thing is i wish they put more pinnaepple on the pastor ones but that nothing major. I can ask for more next time I go. First impression was great because the cashier who helped me made conversation, said my name multiple times and made eye contact with a smile. This may not mean much to some of you, but that alone is rare to find and will keep me coming back. On to the food, I ordered 5 carnitas and 5 Carne Asada tacos (mixed corn and flour tortillas on both),1 beef quesadilla and a side of rice and beans (not on the menu). Sounds like a lot, but the DH and I wanted to try multiple things. My favorite were the carnitas, but he liked the carne asada. Both were seasoned well and came with all the fixin's such as onions, cilantro and hot sauce (both green and red). I will warn you that the Green Salsa is ALWAYS the hottest, so try it sparingly because you might have to make multiple trips to "El Bano".
