Delarosa has a very social / fancy bar type feel for a restaurant. The tables are all pretty long (seating from approx 6 to 10 people), meaning if you're a small group, you'll probably be sitting at a table with strangers. Came in on a Saturday afternoon when it wasn't crowded and the nice hostess seated us immediately. Our waiter was also kind and checked up on us a few times. Love that. The rest of the experience was pretty average though and based on other reviews, I definitely wouldn't wait a long time for it. The star of the show was the pizza. The ratio of thin crust to toppings was great and the finishing oil didn't leave the crust soggy. But it took a while to come out and there weren't that many people in the restaurant. And when I took my first bite it tasted only warm, so I'm not sure how fast we even got it. Their chicken parm was such a small portion for the price and it was definitely super dry and overcooked. The cheese didn't have that warm, pull apart string texture. The pasta sauce was super wet and didn't stick to a lot of the pasta. Definitely a disappointment :( We both got drinks - he got a cider (that they gave in the can) and I got the Dirty Dog. Neither of us cared for them very much. Came here Sunday evening, 8/28. A tad generous on the rating, but ultimately we had a very enjoyable meal, albeit with a few missteps - I'll outline them, not to whine, but because feedback can be actioned :) We had a reservation for 2, and on entering (a very nice space), the only option the hostess could offer was at a high-top table, or we'd have to wait 30 minutes - not ideal since my wife has a minor back issue and was not comfortable not being able to plant her feet - thankfully, the server for that area managed to relocate us very quickly to a regular table. Upon leaving, I tried to say "thank you" to the hostess (I always do), but she completely blanked us - I get it - perhaps a tad awkward under the circumstances, but I wasn't looking for a fight :) The meal... great service throughout. Got my G&T in what seemed like less than a minute (this is great because it's not unusual for bar drinks to take 10+). The only nit is that I would have taken another one if asked, but once the pizza was out, we were not checked on. We shared a kale salad before the pizza, and it was really good - tasty and with great ingredients, except for the kale! It wasn't awful, but the kale was mature, so quite tough. The pizza was good - the dough was a good bit drier than the "Italian standard" (this is where a 2nd G&T would have helped), but we did add a couple of eggs - we'll add 4 next time because this is a fantastic addition to a pizza - it was amazing! The response still merits a single star. At the prices we paid for 2 adults and a child, it's YOUR job to make sure the food comes out presentable and fresh. The 4% you talk about- I'm pretty sure this gets stuck on the bill prior to the tip- so we end up paying tip on the 4% "mandatory donation" as well as the tax, another irritating aspect of dining here. Why not just raise your prices by 4%? No one I have spoken with likes this 4% surcharge and everyone agrees- it's your job to take care of your employees, not the customer's. Regardless, clearly missing the mark in all aspects of food preparation and delivery and then expecting me to come up and tell you about it to give you a chance to make things right is not befitting of a 75-100 dollar range meal for such a small party. Maybe at a fast food joint where I'd expect less, not here. Again, that's your job. read more

I've been to this location multiple times and previously have visited the sister location in SF. I can say that I have never had a bad meal here. Even without reservations my wife and I have always been able to walk in and get a table. The service is generally prompt and, once you've ordered, everything comes out very fast. My wife's favorite thing to get here is the garlic bread and the chocolate cake at the end. I really like their beet and farro salad avocado goat cheese and citrus. In fact we both liked it so much I tried making versions of it at home. I've tried their pastas on a couple occasions and everything has been delicious. Now of course, the pizza is the most important aspect to rate the meal. I personally really like their pizza. But then again I like all types of pizza as long as they are prepared true to their style. Delarosa makes a fork and knife pizza. Thanks to many factors (dough thickness, sauce viscosity, moisture of cheese) the slices get thin and droopy in the center, but this is what I expect. TIP: If you don't like your pizza this way, simply ask your waiter to have them make your pizza extra crispy. We did this on one occasion and they gladly obliged. Delarosa also serves a spicy (calabrian chili?) oil that you can request to dip your crust and other breads in. I suggest you do so. Delarosa has become my wife's and my go-to casual date spot and I would definitely recommend it as a dining option if you find yourself in or near the Bishop Ranch Center. read more

Came in for dinner. Ordered margarita | tequila, agave, lime 13 I asked if they can add jalapeño to make it spicy. The drink came in with no jalapeño only bitters around the cup instead of salt. Sure. When getting the check the drink was 28. I asked why. Because they used premium tequila. Did it make it spicy like i asked? No. Do i feel like RIP OFF? Yes. An 15$ extra for premium tequila and i wasnt informed. I have been to SF locations and am really disappointed with this location. And the drink was definitely not worth 28$! read more

This is my families New favorite restaurant at the city center! It's a must try Italian restaurant. We used to travel all the way to the city to eat at that location. My family and I were able to go on opening night and I was shocked at how amazing and friendly the servers and managers were. We ordered a ton of food. ALL the pizzas are amazing. My favorite dish is the baked ziti and the Brussels sprouts. The pumpkin ravioli was to die for but it was a small dish not enough to share. Needed more . I recently visited Delarosa in San Ramon for a Yelp Elite and was very impressed with Delarosa's new location and the quality of the food! I'm a big fan of Delarosa's downtown SF location, so I was excited to try this new location. Delarosa serves delicious Italian food and pizza! The food at Delarosa in San Ramon is just as excellent as their SF location! At the event I attended, I was served an extensive set of tastings from their menu. I strongly recommend the arugula and fennel salad, the fritto misto, and the spicy fennel sausage pizza. All of the dishes I tried were excellent! The drinks were awesome! I'm a big gin fan so I found the Monarch cocktail to be very satisfying! This Delarosa is located in Sam Ramon's City Center at Bishop Ranch. It's a very hip and modern location; it's probably the coolest shopping center/mall I've seen in years! It's the perfect location to go get some pizza and then enjoy some shopping! The staff were very helpful and courteous. The restaurant interior is brand new and very clean. The furnishings, decorations, and lighting make for a very comfortable setting. I really appreciated that the restaurant has genderless bathrooms. If you're in San Ramon, I definitely recommend checking out Delarosa. First and foremost; this restaurant is clean - solid initial impression in setting a good tone. The staff are friendly and service is excellent. Here's why I deducted 2 stars ... (1)The menu is very limited with regards to pasta dishes; to the point of being extreme relative to other Italian joints. Most Italian run operations will have 8+ pasta dishes, while the menu here (at the time of my visit) has 4 or 5. (2) Music: Loud rap music playing in an Italian spot just absolutely ruined the whole ambiance. So many great Italian artists & music that is family friendly. I don't have any issues with their choice of music if they're running a night club or hosting a frat party. Ramazzotti, Pravo, Bocelli, Tozzi, Cremonini ... the list goes on & you choose to blast obnoxious dribble with every other word an expletive that has to be bleeped out? Calamari is actually a combo dish with less calamari than the portion indicates, the broccolini isn't bad but you don't win customers on veggies alone here, and the pizza-- while more than adequate for this caliber of restaurant and the crowd-- wasn't enough to wow. Wine list isn't anything special, but it has enough character to be a solid addition. 3.5 stars: for suburbia it's solid and welcome. The food was decent, but not worth the cost. $5 for gluten free crust and no options for gluten free pasta- really? The gluten free crust was very thin and the edges were cardboard. I told the waitress "gluten free crust and dairy free cheese. It's an allergy" and she said okay. After eating the pizza I feel sick as if I've had a little bit of gluten. I'm guessing it's cooked in the same oven as the flour pizzas because that's the only thing I can think of for getting gluten still. They also don't have ranch (for my friend) which I was kinda surprised about but whatever. Again, the food was NOT worth the price, definitely lot pricing. Great location, right in the courtyard, center of all the activity. Very nice establishment, family friendly, nice servers, spacious clean and inviting. These were all the reasons I wanted to visit. Not to mention they seem to get a lot of business so that seemed like a good sign. HOWEVER, their pizza was very disappointing. I did love the crust, it was one of the better crusts I've had, but the pizza was completely watery and soggy. this is partly the reason for the low rating. That and the pricing. We ordered a pizza with very sparse toppings, and a calamari dish. The total bill with tip and tax was just about $50. I wish I enjoyed my $50 meal, but it wasn't justified. We always walked by this place while strolling around bishop ranch, it always looked so delicious and it's packed every time! We've gotten the pizza in SF once I can't say I loved this place. The atmosphere is everything though, the music, the dimmed lights. Let's first start by, we walked in, asked to be placed on the waitlist. We were told 20 minutes. No problem! We decided to walk around, check out the stores, and even bought a few things. It took us about 20 mins. I click on the link Yelp sent in regards to our "place in line" - it said that we were 6th in line and it was 20 more minutes. I checked in with the hostess, told her we've been waiting our allotted time, why does it say we need to wait even longer? She was quick to seat us, and apologized. But Unfortunately, the pizza didn't "wow" us this time around. The flavor is lacking. It just wasn't flavorful. We also ordered the margharita pizza - didn't realize after that we didn't get basil on ours? I didn't realize bc we had our baby with us, and our goal was to get in and out... The servers and kitchen are working so fast paced - I give them kudos! It definitely is busy. Perhaps somehow too busy to be aware of tables needing things - extra utensils, napkins, or the bill. A pleasant location in City Center but the menu is misleading. I ordered a Prosciutto Coppa mushroom panini. What I received was a ham sandwich which was tasty but not Italian prosciutto and/or Coppa. When I asked where the Prosciutto or Coppa was I was told by the manager "they are the same thing"! Also "that is our Prosciutto". The photo tells all you need to know. No deli Italian slices to be seen. Our server Taylor was excellent in spite of understaffing. I won't order the same thing and hopefully they take heed of the misleading menu. read more

Got charged for the wrong item. My my first impression of the place was strong! But! It all went down the drain after I ordered a margherita with burrata and got a plane margherita instead (and got charged for the margherita with burrata). At first I thought maybe this is how their "margherita with burrata" looks like by giving them the benefit of doubt... but once I checked the pictures on Yelp later that day, I figured I was served and charged for the wrong it. Everything is amazing, the food was a bit overpriced but not bad. The service however was AMAZING. Very attentive even though there was quite a rush. Will def be back to try more dishes. What a pleasant addition to the City Center. Delarosa is one of few restaurants in the San Ramon area that I look forward to visiting when I'm in town. The arancini is phenomenal and the pizzas are delicious as well. The menu here is an abbreviated version of what they serve at their location in the Marina (SF), but still a tremendous improvement from other options in the area. The staff here are always attentive and kind, providing excellent service to customers. The food is delicious, and reasonably priced (in my opinion). I love the ambiance as well. Yelp won't allow Zero or Negative stars... Went to check this restaurant out on Sunday 01Oct23 at 7PM. Half the tables were empty stood at host station for 15mins. No host was there. After 15 mins a host showed up and stated it was half hour wait to be seated. Asked if we could eat at the bar. The host said yes sit anywhere you like in bar area. While selecting a seat the short blond haired bartender stated we couldn't sit in bar area. He stated it is required to wait in host line and be seated by host. I explained we already did that. He proceeded to tell me I didn't. I replied, "You are calling me a lier?" He then told me to leave the restaurant. I located the dark haired manager who listened but added no dialog, showed no sign of concern or compassion. Waste of my time...
