The service here is friendly and fast they are very attentive. Me and my husband both had the garlic butter steak with side salad and squash. It was so delicious I had them ad bell peppers and sauteed onions to the top of my steak and it really just hit the spot! Okay, let me start by saying that we came in around 9pm on a Sunday evening. The young man staffing the front register was attentive, respectful and clearly interested in getting folks seated promptly. What I didn't expect was that it would be his job to put our 2 to-go salads together! Seriously, I really don't want the guy who is handling the money to be making my salad. Isn't that the cooks job? My Husband and I stopped in for lunch today. I had the Big Dip Sandwich,and it lived up to it's name. It was large , the meat was very tender ,the dip was yummy and lots if french fries came with it. We chose to eat here because it was close to our hotel and open late. We've eaten at other Denny's around the country and been underwhelmed, so our expectations weren't very high going in. What a pleasant surprise! Katherine was our server and she was incredibly kind and attentive. The place was exceptionally clean. The food arrived quickly even though there were several people who came in right around us. The portions were more generous than we've experienced before. The salads were crisp and fresh. And the refilled beverages to go were a lovely gesture. After having a rather horrible time at our hotel, who would think that Denny's would be the place to put a shine back on our Bakersfield stay?!? The manager is so rude. This is the second time I have ordered from here and this is the second time they have messed my order up completely. Today he argued with me about tater tots that were made incorrectly trying to tell me that they are supposed to have the nacho cheese sauce. I challenged him by asking "Isn't the cheese sauce only supposed to be on the loaded tots?" He literally said "I don't know, maybe". And walked away. This is the manager. We spent $71 on this order and he made up excuses and argued with me when I wanted what I actually ordered. Wish I got his name but his is bald white guy with a beard. This was the most horrible experience ever. I think our server was Lisa? I'm not sure but I don't recommend going on a Sunday night, our server was too focused cleaning her tables then actually serving us. My boyfriend and I waited a good 10 min just to get drinks and then when we got our food everything was wrong or missing. This location used to be the best in town but over the past year it has lost its brownie points at night. The service is lacking, the food comes out half assed. Ordered the chicken fried steak red mashed potatoes and broccoli. Cam with a group; two ordered the same thing....food tasted like paste, broccoli was cold and potatoes were nasty. This Dennys is on the corner of Merle and 65. We havent been in a Dennys in over 4 years- service and menus just seemed outdated. We had been on a long ride and just needed to eat. Walked in and were immediately greeted with a great smile and awesome communications. Food came fast, tasted great, and service at the table was above normal. Truly appreciated the staff on shift for what they were providing. Made our end to the day much more memorable. Would tell anyone to stop and eat at this one. read more

Just had breakfast here food was perfect! Everything came out in a timely manner and was without flaw. Staff was friendly, restrooms were clean, manager even pitched in with the staff. I did notice I had to ask for more coffee and creamer though. Waitress also was up selling without telling it was extra normal for a business on a budget. They gave me gross iced tea and then i had to wait over 15 minutes for a diet coke. Then i asked for salsa and the little waitress went on break and i had to wait another 15 minutes and a different waitress to get it for me. Went in for dinner at about 7pm Monday night. Seen that there was a huge group of people who had just arrived so both my fiance and I knew service would be a little slower BUT never did we imagine it was going to be like it was. We sat down ordered Drinks, and an appetizer knowing dinner was going to be a little bit of a wait. We waited over an hour no appetizer, no food. We waited another 15 minutes and they bring out thr appetizer and our dinner. What we ordered was not what we had gotten. Denny's was always a "go to" for us but now we've decided ihop is the new go to. A serious let down that's for sure. The only reason this review gets 2 stars is for the poor hostess who was trying to play waitress. She was apologetic but was still a bad experience. read more

Their service for one is excellent thanks Amber you were so attentive, also their portion sizes are great, went to dennys in delano and Delano Dennys serves about half portions and are very stingy with the creamers.
