This is my neighborhood dennys, 12 years ago this place was great! Now? I honestly feel it should be condemned. Came here tonight cuz I was super hungry. Nobody was there to greet anyone. A server was standing off behind the bar who saw the line of people including us and just ignored us while continuing on her phone. The waiting area had not 1 but 3 homeless people. Last time we were here which was about a year ago, the food was so lacking i ended up sick afterwards. On a Sunday morning in late July, my hubby and I was in Culver City to see Bsnksy exhibit. We were there early and decided on Dennys for breakfast. We waited 10 min to get seated and 10 min for waitress to place our orders. I ordered lumberjack combo and waited 15-20min for food arrived. Pancakes was fluffy with slather of butter and syrup. Scrambled eggs, ham, hash brown was delicious too with plate of toast. The bacon looked like microwave bacon kinda sad looking. Refills on water and soda was fine. I have a confession to make. The last time I ate at a Denny's was probably in the 1980's. I tend to favor restaurants with healthier overall choices. So, I found myself in Culver City wanting a late lunch and looking for a restaurant. I found none except Denny's. I'm sure there were others but I was famished and didn't have time to look for other options. Denny's is known for comfort food and the menu reflected it. I was looking for a healthier choice. I ordered an egg white omelette with spinach and tomatoes, turkey bacon, a gluten free English muffin and a small fresh fruit cup. Perfect for me. There were only three tables with people eating, including me, in the whole restaurant. You would think the service would be fast. Nope. A turtle would have won a race twice before this server would have crossed the finish line. I asked for an English muffin with jelly. I had finished my breakfast and was eating my fruit when the English muffin finally came with no jelly. Again I asked for jelly and waited and waited until finally it arrived. In the meantime I had finished eating my fruit cup and now my English muffin was cold. Argh!. Will be back in another 40 years, maybe, NO! read more
