America's Diner I like Denny's, always have. They offer an extensive menu, are reasonably priced, and have large dining areas. I can't think of a single Denny's where I had any issue with service, and that streak continues. Our visit for breakfast went very well, got coffee, got food in about 10 minutes, got my check just before I was ready to leave, all from a nice helpful server. I ordered their Lumberjack Slam, a lot of food that included 2 eggs, hash browns, ham, sausage links, bacon, large pancakes, and toast. I ended up leaving some of the carbs behind because it was so much. Quantity and quality, a good pair. Glad we stopped in. read more

There was a male waiter with a thick accent who treated me extremely poorly and, due to his own misunderstanding and inability to communicate effectively, called me incompetent in front of others. There is a clearly listed menu item for the 9-Grain Breakfast Slam where you can choose a plant-based alternative at the same price as the regular. This version replaces the standard sides with seasonal fruit and hash browns -- clearly printed on the menu. When I ordered this, the waiter immediately told me it wasn't possible. I tried to explain what I wanted and even showed him the menu, but he kept insisting it couldn't be done. I politely asked if he could check with another staff member or a manager for clarification because I was really hoping to get this plant-based alternative, but instead of helping, he became defensive and rude. He claimed he'd worked there for years and insisted the only change possible was upgrading hash browns to fruit -- completely disregarding what my menu actually stated. Later, I asked another staff member who happened to be nearby, and she confirmed that I was correct and that the plant-based substitutions I wanted were an available option. She said she would speak with him, but I'm not sure if that ever happened because when he returned, I reiterated my original request -- now confirmed by another employee -- and he still refused. I told him I was confused about why my request was not possible because someone had just told me I could order it, and he snapped back with something along the lines of, "I don't understand why you are confused and cannot understand -- it's very simple," in a rude and condescending tone. He essentially called me incompetent, loudly and in front of everyone which was completely unwarranted considering I had been polite. After this comment, I was angry and humiliated but did not say anything to offend him or further escalate the situation, I simply limited conversation with him at this point to calm myself down while my family members tried figuring out a solution for me. I knew I was right about my menu requests, and another employee had confirmed it, but I let it be and changed what I wanted. What's unacceptable is that: He immediately dismissed my request and refused to ask others for clarification like I had asked him to do (I was polite). He treated me with disrespect, belittling me and speaking to me as if I were incompetent in front of my family members and other guests. If he can't communicate clearly or treat guests with basic respect, then he needs further training in customer service -- something I've personally worked in for years. Went into this location today in Jefferson in Overland went to go sit in front because you can sit wherever you like. And it was intended to you could've sat there for 15 to 20 minutes. No one comes over and says anything to you. Their tables are always feeling like they're sticky. The lack of service is just OK. First time at this Denny's on Jefferson Blvd. Busy shopping area. Bonus they have their own parking lot so u don't have to pay for parking. It's way nicer than our local one in Westwood. Better decor, friendly service, smells nice. Clean. We saw staff clean while we were there, sweep the floors, bus tables etc. Our waitress Maribel Q was very attentive, asked us if we need refills, came to get out menu order quickly. Did not leave us waiting once we were seated. Asked if we wanted more coffee or anything. Well ventilated, the silver ware were in individual packets which I appreciated in a pandemic. Food came out hot, eggs not runny. Instructions were followed. And the coffee is great! I also tried the Strawberry & Mango smoothie with no banana. I told Maribel I have a banana allergy and she made sure to not cross contaminate my smoothie and let me substitute the banana! read more

I wish every Denny's was like this , where they welcome you don't rush and basically just have a great attitude. Cecilia was my waitress. Very polite great personality and knows what she is doing . As i order my coffee and breakfast she was on it meaning i had basically everything I need hot sauce, ketchup coffee, extra napkins, which I didn't even have to ask as she was doing her runs always asked everything ok anything else and with such a good attitude and not just with me but with others and that's the reason i will go back and breakfast was cooked well hash browns were crispy eggs, nice and the healthy grain pancakes are the best read more

Racist - Awful Customer Service Have been in this dennys multiple times, sit down and take out and they won't care about you if you are black! Will help multiple guests in store even if you were in there first because you guessed it - I was the only black individual in the establishment. my boyfriend and i came to eat for nostalgic reasons, realized we don't come enough. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated and given the most pleasant waiter in the world, Luz! She radiated her own name! They had spanish music playing in the background for the kitchen which for me felt very homey and very classic for my neighborhood and growth. Everything was given to us at a very timely matter and I enjoyed my food so much. The mozzarella cheese sticks were absolutely delicious! If you're into cheese pulls they got you good here, they were super crispy and super stringy! This is probably the best Dennys location we could have chosen to come to. read more
