This was my first time eating Denny's, and I regret not trying it before! I got the Pumpkin Spice pancakes and pecan pie to go, and they were both amazing. I love anything pumpkin spice, and the pancakes had the perfect amount of it! They were super moist and fluffy and the (caramel?) sauce was a nice addition, although it wasn't needed bc the pancakes were already sweet. The pecan pie was pretty good too! Hadn't been to this denny's after midnight for a long time, but had a horrible experience. The person that took my order was very rude and took my order wrong, she charged me full price for the moons over my hammy and didn't give me any fries or hash browns, she told me it would take about 10-15 minutes. I got there in 15min after placing the order, paid for it and it wasn't ready until 20 min later. Ended returning the order and she gave me attitude for returning. Never coming to this denny's. After a long day in Huntington Beach, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by this Denny's because we were hungry and it was my birthday so I planned on getting the free grand slam. The waitress who took our order was rude. She was impolite and impatient. She had an attitude the whole time. I'm not for sure what her name was but it was something like Lan or something with only three letters. She is an asian woman with glasses. There was a confusion with my order and I received what I didn't want. I told her I wanted the Grand Slam with pancakes, she was telling me that she will add on pancakes, thats its only a dollar something. I know I may sound cheap but I did not come to this Dennys thinking I was going to have to pay for my birthday meal. She then told us, "you're getting the free meal you'll just have to pay a few dollars, be happy with that" Who says that to a customer??? That is definitely a great example of rude and unprofessional service. The food tasted horrible and burnt. I will definitely not be coming back here. I work in customer service as well and I understand some nights can be hectic, but don't treat us customers with bad service when we don't deserve it. I took my client here one of the very first days after the stay at home order had been lifted. She is older sometimes grouchy and has dementia. The server was extremely patient taking her order with all of her specifications. They were attentive with all of our needs and wants. My client was upset that her waffle was soggy. The manager over heard us talking and was sweet enough to get us another crispier waffle. I was appreciative of the patience and hospitality Denny's in Huntington Beach showed us. This is a good location with a great staff. They are very friendly and do a good job. We host a monthly event in the back room and they set it up for us and do well dealing with all the separate checks and people coming and going. The food is typical Denny's food so not much can be said for that. It's not five-star but it's not Roach Coach. Try the potato cheese soup. Tonight I was served moldy bread which was hopefully an honest mistake but none the less it was a mistake that needed to be rectified! Went to Dennys a 3 times last week each time the food was terrible and very very expensive $17. What got me the most, I ordered the T-bone steak dinner and it was the worst Pretend steak ever. It actually was a pork chop disguised as a steak. What gave it away beside it tasted like pork or something else, it was paper thin. I took a picture to post but this site won't let me. Service was excruciatingly slow... like so slow that people were being sat and then leaving because no one came to their table to greet them. Our server brought us coffee and took our order, but then she never refilled the coffee! The teensie weensie cup that she gave me will not suffice the beast I am without my caffeine in the morning. Our food took 30 minutes, during this time she never came over to say it was on its way or that the kitchen was backed up, etc. That's all I ask is that you keep me in the loop. The mixture of ingredients are off making the food below average. Most of their food are just a filler. Most of their food is average priced but the will get you on the drinks, over priced. Four years later and I came back to give Denny's another shot. Wow, gotta say, I was really impressed, it's like a completely different establishment. The inside is beautiful and you can tell they're really going for the upscale diner feel; the result is very homey and authentic, job well done. Now on to the food...I gave a burger a shot and was really pleased! The bun was okay, a basic sesame bun. The burger itself was fantastic, the meat was very juicy and it made for a delicious bite! The veggies were fresh and the cheese was great. The burger was cooked and an assembled with great form, definitely on-par, or even better than most burgers in the area. The fries were also great, fresh and cooked with a perfect crisp. The service was absolutely impeccable! My server was attentive, friendly, refilled my soda as much as I needed; he was a total delight to spend my morning with! Food quality is definitely lower than IHOP or Norms, DONT get coffee here (tastes like ash). When we were done eating (2 ppl), wanted to see the total. Was expecting around $25 based on food quality... No! It was $45! Crappy coffee was $5 each and $15 for each plate. So like $50 for bad coffee and low quality food... Absolutely incompetent. Online ordering has constant issues. When trying to explain the issue, they just make excuses and do nothing. When I can't order online, I have to go in person. I try to call ahead to have my order ready, but often nobody answers the phone. Somebody did eventually answer on my third try today. I asked about the phone and he told me "it was out of order for 30 minutes". Apologizing and just telling me that they were extremely busy, I could have accepted. This whole operation just makes stuff up as they go. Called customer service multiple times and they just refuse to believe that there is a problem. Rather than just writing it down and looking into it, they keep trying to explain it, having no clue what they are talking about. Some issues eventually get fixed, but it literally takes weeks. read more

One star does no justice to how horrible this restaurant was. If zero stars was an option that's what my rating would be. The minute we walked in Natts/flies swarmed us, once we were served her food and they were everywhere the entire time we ate we were shooing away flies from our food and from our face it was awful. Then when we complained they did apologize but just left us sitting at our table for 15 minutes after they took our food and said nothing to us so eventually we just walked out and didn't pay for anything. It's been many years of going to Denny's and enjoying a wide, varied excellent menu. Particularly i like the $2-8 discount menu page. But my problem is not here obviously. It usually doesn't occur to us for my father or me to ask until recently for the senior discount. We were informed it is available only to AARP members. AARP is a main backer of Obamacare. Might be amazing for you but a good portion of Americans are not fans of this govt coercion plan. What I get from this is anyone who is not on board with Denny's politics is shut out from such consideration. In addition I'm told Denny's is anti 2nd Amendment- a fundamental right of all Americans as it still stands. I wonder what other ultra Liberal causes Denny's endorses?! Anyway, i strongly disagree with this senior discount policy because a multitude of companies and corporations give discounts freely and cheerfully regardless of political cause or persuasion. Food is actually a higher standard than your average Denny's. Their Manager is amazingly cordial and very customer friendly; they have 2 servers that you have to meet. Santos has a wickedly funny sense of humor, he will make you smile even on your worst day. Then there is Mike, he is super on point with his customer service; he is extra he can give options, opinions and he really makes your dining experience relaxing.
