Jen was great and very sweet however her manager was loudly disciplining her and saying a lot of passive aggressive and condescending things to her and everyone in the restaurant heard the whole thing and it felt really weird and embarrassing. He seemed to have a god complex for someone just working at a dennys or else he just has a very loud voice and doesn't realize it and was loudly talking about how he's writing everyone up. Food is okay, but my dad likes to go here because we live down the street. Its also open 24/7. I tend to come out midnight to 2am and its pretty busy since bars close at 2 and ppl still wanna hang out. This location. The service is very slow. Great service from Antonio (hostess) and Karla (waitress). Denny's is Denny's lol, descent food, great milkshakes, well priced food. It was extremely busy today and all the employees were working extremely hard to seat and serve everyone in a timely manner. I don't like that the kitchen is open (not really hidden behind closed doors) and you can literally hear and see all the knifes, blenders and banging of dishes throughout the restaurant. I had to speak really loud to have a conversation with my family. Other than that caveat I love Denny's. This location is nicer and has better service than other Denny's I've been to. read more

First off, this is one of the few Denny's I hardly ever check in and yet frequent this place quite often since I moved in this general area back in 99. This location is on the Corner of Alamden Expressway/Captiol Expressway and Hillsdale. While it can be a pain to get here and at times be confusing to new patrons, its still worth to try this classic diner. Your experience can differ based on the day, season and time you arrive. Most people that complain about service and such have to remember, you can always stand up leave. I have never had a bad experience here. Day or Night. The staff over the years has changed but they are still comitted to the service and quality. The only Denny's that I have a bad exeperience is the one on Blossom Hill. That is another review with Elvis in it! Denny's again has partnered up with the LOTR/HOBBIT Franchise and came up with some new menu that focused on Honey. I may be a fan but I didn't go for the menu and stuck with the classics. Yolanda our Waitress was kind, sincere and always there to ask if you needed a refill or anything else. My family didn't complain about the food and we all knew it was very hot as we sat idle sipping our drinks while the food cooled to a much more eating temperature. Till next time!! It was between 2 or 3 stars.... I would have given this location 0 stars initially but the manager EDUARDO, made the situation better. First off, we got there and got seated with menus, no drinks offered- already points off. My family and I were waiting to get ACKNOWLEDGED and nothing.... after 25 minutes of waiting without being acknowledged I called the location to place our order- I figured I would get it faster. When I called to place the order they told me 15 minutes... I said fine. I had to flag a waiter down to ask for water AT LEAST while we continued to wait... then he asked if anyone helped us yet- I informed him that NO ONE came to our table after just sitting us down and I told him I didn't need his services since I had already placed my order over the phone. Once the 15 minutes were up, I went inside to pick up my food. I asked for a manager, (EDUARDO) , I explained the situation and he apologized and I could feel his sincerity. He offered a discount on my bill, which I appreciated, and he offered a free milkshake- which was very nice of him. I really felt like he wanted to make the situation better- and in a way he did. The restaurant was not busy at all, so I don't understand why we never got acknowledged- the fact that I took my family to dine in but had to place the order over the phone defeated the purpose of going out. 2-1/2 stars JUST because of the manager handling the situation. One of my favorite Denny's locations. The staff here is great, very nice and attentive. The food is actually really good. I think Denny's has absolutely improved their food over the years. It used to be pretty much bland and not that good, and I think they have improved the flavor by leaps and bounds. The breakfasts are great, especially the pancakes and french toast breakfasts. Always delicious. Recently I have been watching my calories and looking for healthier options, and I noticed they have a "Fit Fare" menu. I was thinking, it will probably not be great, but I will try it. Well, lo and behold, who would have thought I would enjoy an egg white omelette....but not only did I enjoy it, I found it delicious and would order even if I wasn't dieting! Service is really bad, I do like this specific Dennys because it seems to be clean, servicewise is horrible, I came a few months ago to have dinner on my way home, I had to wait a few minutes to be seated, once on the table i ordered a soda which came 15 minutes later and as the server arrived i told her i changed my mind and went somewhere else, I came over tonight, at about 9pm and there was no one at the front lobby/host stand waited there for about 5-10 minutes with no one in sight, I just walked away, I looked back and still no one, I wonder if there are any employees in the restaurant, it seems they all walked off. read more

This Denny's was pretty clean, the pancakes were tasty and fluffy and the waitress had good customer service. That's where the compliments end for me. I had ordered my own customized grand slam meal with the buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs, extra crispy bacon and grits and splurged for some cheese to go on top. The pancakes and eggs were good but the grits were atomic. They were pretty lumpy and had no seasoning at all. After looking at the receipt, I was disappointed to see that I paid $1.40 more for about a tablespoon and a half worth of cheese for the grits which didn't help. I don't think this Denny's buys quality cuts of bacon, they were just full of fat. For what I paid for the whole breakfast, I could have gotten a better quality meal elsewhere so I don't think I will be returning for anything other than pancakes. read more

It is a Denny's restaurant, but guess what this is one of the better restaurant in the area. I do not know if that is saying the other restaurant are that much worse, or this Denny's is much better. I was seated very fast here, as soon as I was able to sit down, the waitress asked what I would like to order for a drink, I said Ice Tea, within a few minutes later the drinks where at my table as I was able to finally sit and relax from a long day. The waiter was friendly and asked if I was ready to order, of course not so she gave me sometime to figure out what I wanted. Within five minute she returned to refill my drink and make sure it had plenty of ice too, plus take my order for food. We did not have to wait long before the food was at the table and I was enjoying a good quality hot food. Horrible! I used to love this place. Such a clean place which made me choose this Denny's over others but lately the service has been horrible. I know I usually come in around 2 am or so but that doesn't mean you should give bad service. For gods sake We're the only customers there! So we Ordered a cherry limeade which is normally blended with sprite but when we tried it, it was cherry with water..... we told the waiter and he gave us a rude look and our food came out longer than normal. I hate to say it. I mean, really...we are talking about Denny's here. This particular Denny's is the epitome of bad. Bad service, bad food, this affects the whole ambiance of the place. My one and only experience here started out bad when my girl and I had to wait to be seated because no one was at the register. No problem, I understand it may be busy but this evening there was only 3 tables occupied. After about 10 minutes we were seated but not given menu's. The menu's arrived after I had to ask for them, twice. Menu's arrive and we order. As we are waiting for our food, a customer down about 4 booths from us is overheard informing the waiter that there booth was littered with bugs and would they mind moving them. The waiter not only denied her request when there was plenty of other tables, the manager came over and also refused. At this point, I knew we should have left. My optimism and craving for food outweighed my good judgment and we stayed. The food was slow coming out and dry having been left to sit under the lamps for too long (we watched when it first came out, nearly 10 minutes!)When it finally did arrive, the surly waiter slammed both plates on the table and ignored me when I asked for a refill. Having had enough, I requested the bill from the waiter and as he gave it to me he muttered something under his breath. When I inquired what he said he just looked me in the eyes and walked away. Stunned and more than a little surprised, we left. C'mon guys, seriously, it ONLY Denny's...you didn't have that high a standard to live up to, but to completely sink the way this place has is a shame. read more

I'm not sure what people are yappin' about with this place. I went there today and had a great experience! I think they remodeled this place not long ago and I appreciated the wait staff's quick service. Granted I haven't been to a Denny's in years, but this one def. made me feel like I'd come back. I ordered a grand slam breakfast, the special one right now which is pick 4 items for 5.99. I ordered the pancake, eggs, hashbrowns, and fruit combo which was way more food than I anticipated for this pregnant person to eat. They didn't rush me either like other fast chain diners...I actually stayed to read about 3 chapters of this book that I'm reading. Its near my house so I might be back. I normally don't have great experiences at chain restaurants and rather go to some hole in the wall mom and pop place, but this place I would consider again. Goooo Denny's! read more

This location it was packed. The manager was friendly but the front desk staff just doesn't look too happy. I came in but nobody acknowledged my existence. The manager was nice enough to provide some assistance. I ordered my foods over the phone but it got dismissed several times. So when I came in to pick up my foods. Once I got home, I realized my pancakes and my toasted breads are missing from my orders. The harsh brown is a small portion. In Sacramento, the foods they gave me it was a lot. This isn't your typical Denny's. I always have a good experience when I come here. Staff is friendly and attentive. They work as a team to make sure coffee and drinks stay filled which is like 75% of dining out. From what I observed work areas were clean and well organized. It's newly renovated inside, and though I did enjoy nostalgic diner atmosphere of the previous setup, this update is nice as well with a more modern feel nice new furniture and booths. Food comes out quickly after you order and has been cooked to order every time for me. Menu is simple but good and there is good value as well. It can get busy on evenings and weekends, but the wait is never to long and there is also a large waiting area. Good for families and nice enough for those that just want a cup of coffee and talk. read more
