    Biscuits & gravy
    Sarah W.

Great food! You'll definitely want to come hungry. The biscuits are huge! Every menu item sounds delicious and showcases different flavor profiles with their biscuits. Our table tried 3 entrees and got the biscuit cinnamon roll to go. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which was a delicious classic option but a big commitment to one flavor/texture. Next time I'll probably order the biscuit sandwich with egg, sausage, and rhubarb jam for a little more variety. The cinnamon roll was insane. If you don't have room for it when you stop in, you should definitely get one (or half one) to go. Drip coffee is self serve and bottomless so great if you're a caffeine fiend. Service was good and attentive, no complaints. The vibes and decor inside are fun! Great for brunch and I'm curious how it is as a pizza joint and bar at night

We came on Saturday morning at 11am and were seated immediately. Parking was bit hard to find but we could find one in the neighborhood. The server brought out the food immediately. Biscuit pot pie 5/5. I love the unique dish because I haven't seen this style elsewhere. The fried onions add an extra and extra crunch. The mushroom gravy is perfectly seasoned, not too salty, not the bland. Mushroom flavor stood out in this gravy. Gravy and biscuit 5/5. Simple large biscuit with nice flavored, floured, viscous gravy and you can't go wrong with it. The Lola 4/5. The chicken is thin but I like the honey buttered chicken flavor. The sandwich is huge so best to use fork and knife, while adding extra gravy sauce Overall I recommend this place if you ever visit Denver.

First for the good stuff! Our server was great! She was attentive, checked back often, and was friendly. We ordered a "house favorite"cinnamon roll biscuit" to share. It was tasty. I ordered the chicken "pot pie" and my husband just had a cheese burger. Both of us remarked how salty our food was. Maybe it's to encourage people to drink more beer? The atmosphere is more like a bar, with loud, monotonous beat music. We were there about noon. Being from out of town, we thought it would be more of a breakfast place. In reality it is a combo of the biscuit company, Atomic pizza and a bar. Besides the loud music there are about 3 tv's on on 3 walls. Back to my pot pie. Not only was it too salty, it was too dry. It was a biscuit on the bottom, chicken & veggies in very little gravy on the biscuit and a big pile of onion straws on the top. It looked pretty but was overall too dry for my taste. Our server said it was her favorite thing on the menu. The burger was boring. No lettuce or tomato. Too salty. The coffee was fine. They have a "coffee bar" that you serve yourself from. I'm sure there are lots of you out there that love or would love this place. It just wasn't for us.

We had breakfast sandwiches on biscuits and they were delicious. The bacon was very tasty and the coffee was good. You help yourself to a coffee bar which was a cute idea! Great service too

I truly have no words... but how can something as basic as biscuits and gravy be the best thing I've ever had in my entire life? I don't live in Colorado but I've visited quite a few times and I've always wanted to dine in here. Each time I go there is a line out to the door so this time around I ordered UberEats instead. Now I know delivery isn't going to be as amazing as when it's fresh but when I tell you this breakfast was incredible.... INCREDIBLE. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy with waffle fries. This gravy was chefs kiss. I was dipping my fries in it, I could drink this gravy. The biscuit was so light and fluffy and seasoned. Oh my. I'm upset I don't live in Colorado because this restaurant is insane. I understand the hype! 10/10 even with my food taking almost an hour to arrive it was amazing. I can't wait to come and try more! I'll probably have to get delivery again since the line is always crazy, but honestly, I get it!

3.5 stars! Came here on a Monday morning as a group of 4. It was our first time and we got seated quickly. After reviewing the menu we had a question and the waitress wasn't the friendliest. We placed our order and things came out pretty quickly. It is a pour your own cup of Joe type of establishment, and they have a bar full of options for your coffee. Two people in the group got this and were disappointed that it was lukewarm. I got the Franklin which is a fried chicken and bacon sandwich on a biscuit covered in gravy. The chicken was well cooked and the bacon was a bit over done. The gravy was meaty and good. I had a bite of the burger which was pretty good as well. My other friend really enjoyed her chicken sandwich and the last dish also had some overcooked slightly burnt bacon. Overall it was an ok experience with good food.

The cinnamon roll here is utter perfection. This is the amount of frosting that should be on every cinnamon roll. It was worth all the calories and the worry about becoming diabetic with every bite. The pizza and fries here are fantastic. Still dreaming of the cinnamon roll though.

The chicken here was cooked beautifully, nice crisp on the outside, and maintaining a perfect level of heat throughout. The chicken was a STAR for me this day. I heard that people think their biscuits are dry, and although I am no biscuit connoisseur, I was very satisfied and did not think that. Pimento cheese - now this is where my review takes a turn. Just not a fan. When I asked the server for more details on this ingredient, he equated it to cheese whizz. For some reason I still ordered it after this shared opinion. I think it's an elevated version of cheese whizz, but still not my fav. I would definitely return, but maybe get something that involves a sauce or gravy!

The service was lovely from the moment we walked in. Very friendly staff and not a bad wait time for a Sunday morning. Homey atmosphere, nice casual setting. The biscuits were soft and filling. I got a sweet tea for my drink which was solid. Overall a good brunch spot!

If you like biscuits, this place is a must go. We sat at the bar and got delicious bloody Mary's. Our server was wonderful. We got the biscuit pot pie and the Franklin. I couldn't even wait to take a picture of the Franklin before devouring into it.

Highly recommend the Franklin and ADD and egg and substitute it for the biscuit French toast. It's savory and sweet if you like that combo and you won't regret it. The waffle fries are yummy too. If you want a boozy coffee then Mom's iced latte is your best option and it was DELICIOUS!!

Well you certainly can't go wrong coming here. Hungover? Starving? Just like breakfast? This is your spot. Something for everyone- sweet and savory, savory, boozy, etc. We stopped in and got coffee (this is help yourself with all kinds of fun and different mugs), the Franklin and the Lola. Mine was the Lola and if you like sweet and savory, this is your sandwich. Absolutely covered in syrup- this sandwich knocks it out of the park. My husband got the Franklin (he loves gravy- so if that's your thing, get this). We sat above the bar at the barstools and the service was great- so was the people watching. This place doubles as a bar at night. Lots of drink options for brunch/breakfast. Food portions are enormous. We capped or the breakfast with the cinnamon roll which was the size of my head and so good. Not too sweet either- it was very cream cheesy on a more biscuit based roll. Absolutely amazing. Service, portions, taste and people are all exceptional. Highly recommend 10/10

We made our reservation for 5:30PM and showed up at 5:05... glad they were able to seat us at 5:20 even though the restaurant was not busy and had many open tables. Maybe they were staggering for kitchen staff reasons. Marcos was very attentive and made tremendous amount of amazing recommendations. All of us decided to order the short rib from the prix fix menu and we all ordered some sides. We got the French onion soup, the bread pudding and the key lime pie. Also shared some mushrooms, asparagus and creamed spinach. The short ribs was very tender, the key lime pie was perfectly tart and sweet, the bread pudding is a little bit on the harder side as it came in a cast iron dish like a cookie... but the flavor was amazing and tasty w the vanilla ice cream. All in all we had a great time with our girls date after we saw a musical and really helped us wrapped up the day so sweetly. Thanks Marcos and team!

We arrived and the hostess took 10 minutes to even acknowledge we were there then said she needed more time to clean off some tables which she did very slowly. She then said she would seat the 4 of us at a 2 top with a high chair. She told us to wait until the table was ready. They set the table and brought over a high chair and then suddenly took the high chair away. In true "see you next Tuesday form" the hostess did not say anything to us and instead sat another couple who had just walked into the restaurant. They still said nothing to us until I walked over to the host stand and then blurted out that the couple they sat had been waiting before us for 50 minutes but got "lost in the system". Mind you, the couple had not been in there at all when we got there and we were told we would have the table. I am sure that we were profiled because we had a toddler with us and they decided to seat others in our place that they had set up for us. Not only that, but nobody ever came to talk to us and inform us about what happened. And then to top it off they told us we could order to go and sit in the lobby of the Meridian. Their behavior and attitudes were absolutely atrocious and definitely discriminatory based on us trying to bring a child during happy hour (before dinner seating had even opened). 0/10 do not go here if you enjoy polite hosts and wait staff and are looking for a family friendly establishment. The hotel lobby bar was everything Corinne was not. The bartenders and servers were friendly, food was delicious, and service was fast. They saved our evening which Corinne had done everything to ruin.

Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

I saw Former Saint on CBS News, and the menu and food looked incredible. In particular, that white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was something I know my hubby would look forward to all week! I loved the idea of local food and fresh homemade dishes. Sounds healthy, after a week of potential over-indulgence at other restaurant week venues. An additional bonus was that it is located right near the Denver Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. This has become a dry spot for fine dining, with even the choices on Larimer Square growing more thin, giving rise to the inability to get reservations at favorites like Tamayo and Rioja prior to a show. I go to performances frequently with friends, and despite my rule to avoid hotel restaurants (Former Saint is in the Hyatt Regency), I thought I'd scope out Former Saint as a place to take my friends before the next symphony or Children's Chorale or ballet or broadway performance. I must say, the jury is still out. Former Saint was a Jekyll and Hyde of courses. Parking was not difficult (Yay, maybe I can park here prior to my shows, if I grab a bite first). There is a large garage, and the promise of validation from the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical hotel restaurant. Booths, tables, old and a bit drab. Except for the bar. Oh, my! The bar has this BEAUTIFUL copper creation above it, adding so much industrial character to the space! I was in awe looking at it, as it appeared to bring craft suds to the bartender's taps. I didn't ask how it worked, as it wasn't clear how the beer separation and dispensing worked, but it was a great centerpiece and spectacle for the place. I do wish I had investigated more about this architectural marvel, and will do so if I return. For restaurant week, my husband chose the Lobster Ravioli, Ribeye, and blueberry cheesecake (as predicted). I chose the Gotham salad, roasted chicken, and key lime tart. The lobster ravioli was nice; my husband was surprised that it was a toasted ravioli, but enjoyed it. My salad was full of beautiful greens, pears, walnuts, and feta. No scrimping here! The dressing was light and sweet/sour. The pears were a bit unripe and crisp, to the point that I was having trouble identifying exactly what fruit I was eating, but other than that, the salad was beautiful, healthy, and ample. My husband's ribeye steak was a nice cut, done to his liking. Slivered hash browns were underneath with a nice green chimichurri on top and some sliced Fresnos adding a welcome kick to the dish. My chicken was delightful. 1/2 chicken on the bone, seasoned nicely, and with a pan sauce. The breast was super-tender and delicious. It came atop cheesy grits, which was a yummy substitute for a mashed potato. I also was served side salad of curly lettuce and fennel. I probably didn't need more salad, but I was glad to have the healthy side on my plate. I will say that this salad was over-seasoned. The chicken and grits were great, but the salad too salty. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet, which was a very nice find on the wine list, as far as a pairing for his ribeye. That said, the glass cost $30! A bit much, I might say. The real detractor, unfortunately, was dessert. The blueberry cheesecake looked nothing like the beautiful creamy white cheesecake accented throughout by purple blueberries, which I saw on the CBS News clip. My husband was served a very small solid purple slice, overcome with whipped cream dollops. This cheesecake had been uncovered in the fridge too long, with sort of a skin on it. My husband ate almost none of it. My key lime tart was similarly over-adorned with whipped cream, although I had some nice raspberries on top. The tart also seemed overexposed to the cool air, with the thickening of a skin on top. It was a very disappointing way to end a nice meal, and belied the healthy, homemade, craft theme. High points of this experience include the well-crafted and healthy entrees, the fact that we could see the convention center right outside our window (i.e., the location is perfect for pre-event or -theater), the $3.00 validated parking fee, and that beautiful copper tap system. Will the pros outweigh the cons? Will we be back with friends? Time will tell.

Laid back vibe and welcoming staff. Nothing pretentious at all. The bartenders were knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. Always stayed on top of my drinks. The thing I like most about Death & Co is the way the categorize their drinks: Light and playful, bright and confident, elegant and timeless, boozy and honest, and rich and comforting. I had the aqua profunda (cognac, St. George basil eau di vie, lillet rose, strawberry, lime, and absinthe). I also had the eight limb daiquiri (rum, Canada aguardiente, Thai tea cordial, lime leaf, and Maraschino). The Blood Oath (mezcal, Vecchio del capo, Calabrian chili amaro, St. Germain Elderflower, lavender, honey, lemon). All were complex and delicious.
