Before attending a Hershey's Theatre concert Saturday night, we googled bakeries and this business had most great reviews and closest to venue.. The inside decor was so inviting and seasonally uplifting. Then looking into the two glassed dessert cases that we're filled with cookies, scones, pies, cakes, brownies, etc, and I started picking what I can't bake: the pumpkin tiramisu, the cheesy, savory scone, the mini pumpkin cheesecakes, the pumpkin muffin, the pecan brownie, ALL complimented by a cinnamon bun cappuccino!! OMG! The staff were hustling restocking sweets, cleaning up the counters and then in just a few minutes after I paid for my desserts, seven customers walked in to purchase their sweets! Mayrana, our rock star clerk, patiently guided me through the lush myriad of sugary treats. Very pleasant and personable! $60 later and a bag full of sweetness, we took a stool and chilled with a few of our selections and that perfecto coffee. I was blown away when I first tried a Desserts Etc. cake. They truly make a perfect cake. So many flavors to choose from. Recently, I reached out to them with pictures of a "Friends" cake and asked if they could make it for my daughters 16th. They did a fabulous job recreating it. My daughter loved the cake. This is the best bakery I have been to! I'm fat, been to a bunch...from NJ, we have Italian bakeries every mile by state law (joking), this is by far the best. Every thing we have gotten here is amazing! I only give 5 * for truly unique and/or amazing food and/or best of an area of food, this meets that requirement. Even had my wedding cake done here, can't wait to celebrate 1St Anniversary so I can eat the piece we froze! Must try! If you are in Hershey, you need to stop in and get something for later when you are sitting in your hotel room wishing you had something sweet. Quick little place right down the road from their proper sit down restaurant (got this place confused with that one once). More of a grab and go type deal with assorted pastries and baked goods. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and a double espresso, and I also got to sample their everything bagel with cream cheese. The espresso was smooth, but that cookie was out of the world...massive and scrumptious that was absolute perfection from the first bite to the last. This is the textbook definition of what a perfect cookie is. The bagel was excellent as well - nice crispy outer crust with a super soft center. Recently had a rather unpleasant experience with Desserts Etc. I ordered a Super Mario cake for my son's birthday, including with my order a picture of what I wanted, along with a TWICE repeated plea that they not forget the goombas (mushrooms) on the cake. I called the day before my pickup date to see if the cake might possibly be ready early, since I was going to be in the neighborhood. They said it was all done and to come on in. I come in to pick up the cake, only to find that the ONE thing I was adamant not be messed up was messed up. No goombas on the cake. The kids behind the counter were great: apologetic and seemingly genuinely concerned with making it right. They said the pastry chef would fix the cake the next morning and offered to deliver it to my home first thing. Annoying and inconvenient, but I truly appreciated their attempt to fix the situation. The next morning, my phone rings and it's Desserts Etc telling me my cake has been fixed. I ask when it will be delivered and get a snippy response of, "We aren't delivering it because you were supposed to pick it up today anyway. You should just come in and get it." When I pointed out that I was told it was ready the day before, the response I received was tantamount to TFB. Two points need to be made here. First, the fact that my cake was picked up early is immaterial. I was told it was ready, they presented it to me as if it were ready, and they were about to send it home with me as if it were ready, so if I had come on the scheduled pickup date, the cake would still have been wrong -- only with no time to fix it. The goombas may be a small thing, but not to my son. He asked for goombas on his cake and that's what I ordered. The second and even more important point is that I paid $200 for this cake and I don't think it's too much to ask that it be what I ordered. Mistakes happen, but the onus is on the business, not the customer, to bear the inconvenience of fixing those mistakes. If they'd simply delivered the cake to my home as promised, I'd have happily let this slide and considered the situation well-handled. I tried to be gracious, but when a business pockets $200 of my money, then has the gall to pretty much tell me to piss off, I get angry and then I go on Yelp to warn others. I have ordered (very expensive) birthday cakes from Desserts Etc for almost a decade. The Mario cake ultimately turned out lovely, but this really did leave a bad taste in my mouth. They may have lost a customer. There are other bakeries. read more

For reference, they let us pop in with 5 minutes to close and they still had their full offering out for display. From cakes to candies - they've got it covered. I personally went with an item that was chocolate, and tried their handheld coconut cream pie, which I would highly recommend trying! Delicious and deliciously looking bakery. Everything we tried was really fresh and tasty. We tried turkey and Swiss sandwich, which came with a bag of chips. The sandwich was fresh and flavorful, full of veggies, and good portion of meat and cheese. We also tired the chicken salad, which came with a poppy seed dressing. The dressing went really well with the meat and greens. Their macaroons were delicate and they hit the spot as something small but sweet with our coffee. Ordered a crème brûlée donut (cream filled) and a latte (made with half and half - Peet's coffee) - Outstanding! The donut had a slight layer of hardened caramelized sugar covering the top. Not too thick or sweet... excellent cream filled yeasty cake. A great bite! Yes... (10 star) I love peet's coffee. Smooth, no bitter, full flavor coffee latte. (10 star) Look at that display case... We went here for dessert after visiting Irv's for dinner. It's a little pricey but there is plenty of choice, one looking more delicious than the other. Even for it being close to closing a steady flow of peops kept on coming. the atmosphere is casual and feels like a modern home/living room. I tried their Peach dessert (forget the name) and got a free ice cream with it as the Wednesday special. Both were nothing special and lacked flavor and were just average. Could not finish them. Even the coffee which I had was very average. Disappointed with the food. Service wise average .The staff answered my questions but were looking rushed. While staying in town, we were really looking forward to taking an evening walk and trying some tasty treats-- especially after my fiancé grabbed his morning coffee here and saw the display case of freshly made brownies, cupcakes, and other treats (even though he wasn't particularly impressed with the quality of the coffee). We were told that Desserts was open until 9pm, so we decided that we would come by and treat ourselves after we ate our dinner. After dinner, we walked to Desserts and it was just after 8:30pm. However, the door was locked and Desserts had closed early. We were looking forward to trying some of the desserts all day and were told that they would be open until 9pm. When we stopped in to grab a drink the following morning, I was too disappointed from the previous evening to grab any treats. We paid with a card, and upon hearing this- the cashier ran to the other side of the room while we swiped the card? If you don't feel like there's enough distance between the cashier and the customer (while both wearing masks), then please create more space. Dramatic running across the room while a customer swipes a card is ridiculous and rude. We don't plan to ever return now. read more

Swung by with the family on a Saturday evening. They had a full dessert case along with drinks. I personally opted out of getting something because I simply wasn't interested in that day's offerings: they had gluten free options (always nice), a lot of peanut-butter based things, a lot of pumpkin options, and really hearty, chocolatey options. None really appealed to me since I don't really like rich desserts or pumpkin/peanut butter. I wished I could've gotten a coffee or drink but we came late and I knew I wasn't going to sleep if I had that--the drinks looked and smelled very good though. The rest of the family picked up a chocolate chip cookie, a ghost cupcake with a chocolate-covered strawberry on top, and another cupcake with candy corns. They all thought the presentation was great, the portions were great for the price, but the taste wasn't as good as the presentation. I had a bite of the cookie and wasn't a fan; I'm a simpleton, prefer the basic bake-it-yourself cookies in a tub. Think I (and my family) would've liked it more with different options; just weren't into that day's choices. We weren't too excited about what we got, which probably fed into our opinions. read more

I went to order a cake for my MOM's 100th Birthday coming up and they have sooo many and any size too and you can get any icing u want too .I ordered a Black Forest cake with Milk Choc. icing and Choc. curls and Gold writing . Was driving by, and when I saw 'Desserts' and my truck did a quick right turn into the parking lot! and I'm so glad I stopped. As I entered, the aroma was so wonderfully fresh and sweet I was in heaven. There were a few people in line, but I was served almost immediately. The selection is absolutely mind blowing! It was so hard to choose, but I do love lemon! ;) It was over 90 degrees outside, so I chose a vanilla milkshake (with Hershey ice cream) and oh my it was fabulous! I can't believe I live so close to this place and never stopped in until now! The dessert case was filled with many enticing options, but I finally selected the turtle brownie. I'm so glad I did because it was one of the best desserts I've ever eaten! It was a thick, pecan brownie topped with a rich chocolate ganache, pecan, and caramel layer and topped off with homemade whipped cream and caramel. My husband got macaroons and I got a big brownie! The brownie was really good. My husband didn't care for the macaroons though. He said the macaroons they sell in the frozen section of Giant were way better. But I do still recommend this place! Very clean inside, great employees and some good deserts! I got a brownie with peanut butter cream & a Reese's cup sitting on top, two chocolate macaroons, a bad of three pb blossom cookies & my husband got a Nutella filled bomb. We bought a few items, by far the moonpies took the crown for me. My husband on the other hand loved the crumb cake. We purchased a coconut cupcake, chocolate Oreo cupcake and a Cookie Monster cupcake. We also had a huge cinnamon roll a sort of homemade pop tart. Everything was very tasty and sweet. The shops atmosphere enchanted me the smell of coffee and sweets with a great seating area made me fall in love with the place.
