    Really love this spot and what they are doing with food. The dishes feel unique and elevated with fresh ingredients. You definitely cannot get some of these dishes just anywhere and then the taste meets the visual appeal expectations. Highly recommend!

    Hayden Tract is an off kilter and a bit industrial neighborhood. At Destroyer, its modern food marches to the beat of its own drummer like its renewed surroundings. Come here for brunch after climbing the Culver City Stairs at the Baldwin Hills Overlook or a bike ride by the Ballona Creek jetty. Koshihikari Rice Porridge: This is a risotto that has gone gooey. Or is it the creamiest congee around? It is warm and thick, slightly soupy, and the rice grains still have some texture. The flavor is well balanced, a bit of broth, lemon, and olive oil. There are melted leaks at the base of the bowl, glistening with golden olive oil. The broccoli stems have been cooked until they are really soft. Crispy and chewy puffed rice has been sprinkled on top of the porridge, as well as raw green broccoli bits. The broccoli bits are what you get after you shake a grocery bag holding your broccoli crowns. Grilled onion rings are charred sand sweet. A sweet chocolatey gravy of black garlic is dusted on top. I don't eat porridge too often, but I'd keep coming back for the incredible flavors and textures in this stunning bowl. Ordering: Place your order at the counter, pick up a number, and find a table on the sidewalk. Dining: There was a line out the door on the weekend and seats are hard to come by, so I roll the order to go. Parking is plentiful with lots of spots on the street.

    The turkey sandwich was okay. Bread was great, but the meat soso. When given the high price, it didn't feel justified. Also bought a mint lemonade for 10 dollars. You are paying restaurant prices to sit out on the sidewalk. Service was good. Ambiance was side walk dining.

    Decided to come here for breakfast. It's definitely a vibe in here. We got some pastries and some food. The stuffed matcha croissant really wasn't stuffed, the matcha was coated on the side of the croissant. The pastries were alright. Husband got the coffee and it was a bit too acidic. My matcha latte was soo grassy and herby. I also tried the koshihikari rice porridge, the black garlic flavor was overpowering. It's a very hearty dish, perhaps a bit too much for me in the morning. Overall I feel like maybe this place is too avant garde for my taste.

    This place had been on my list for a while given its Michelin Bib Gourmand status. You don't hear of many Michelin breakfast spots so I was definitely intrigued. Parking can be a bit tricky, the location feels like it's located within a bunch of work buildings, but I found a spot down the street. I thought it was a sit down place, but it's actually one where you order at the counter, take a number and they bring it out to you when ready. They display their menu on the wall and when you walk in, you just get the vibe that everyone who works here takes what they do very seriously. We ordered a few dishes. The koshihikari rice porridge and we added a poached egg and the red gem salad without goat cheese. I also got an iced matcha with almond milk. The matcha was ready pretty quickly and it was great quality and delicious! Vibrant green color. The rice porridge was insane. So incredibly good and unique. The black garlic gives the dish a really nice flavor. And the presentation... wow. The salad looked simple, yet it was plated beautifully, but the flavor was anything but simple. Super delicious, whatever was on the bottom, per their menu it's a hazelnut crunch and onion jam, tasted incredible. My sister also got the BLT which she seemed to enjoy. Definitely curious to come back and try more dishes!

    I really liked Destroyer. It's a cute, slightly tucked-away café with a calm feel. Great for catching up with friends or sitting outside with a book when the weather is nice. I had the chicken katsu. It was crispy and filling, though the Sichuan pepper was a bit too salty for me. The chai latte comes pretty sweet by default, and I would have preferred it less sweet. The vegan chocolate chip cookie was good but also on the sweeter side, even for me. Service was kind and quick. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping by, especially to sit outside and relax.

    I am a big fan of Jordan Kahn. I loved his experimental Vietnamese restaurant "Red Medicine" in Beverly Hills but sadly it closed. I love Destroyer and the food is just very different. Some items can be a hit or miss but the items that are a hit, they are a hit. I love the broccoli porridge which is so unique. I also recommend the chicken schnitzel and the melon dessert, if you ever see it on the menu. I recently had the blueberries with coconut yogurt and that was ok. I love coconut and blueberries but this combo was a bit sour on the day I went. Parking can be tough and you'll be circling around and around looking for a spot. Most of the people that dine at Destroyer are the local Apple and office employees. One day, I want to go check out Vespertine which is just across the street.

    My friend and I were looking for a brunchy lunch spot this past Saturday and came across multiple positive reviews for the Destroyer. We were able to find street parking nearby, and the line to order wasn't too long. Seating is predominantly outdoors and first-come, first-served (very cafe style), so we had to watch the tables like a hawk to make sure we had a spot by the time our food arrived. Destroyer was incredibly popular, so the food did take a bit to come out. That said, the presentation of the food was beautiful, almost too pretty to eat. The warm, sunny weather also made it the perfect setting to sit back and enjoy our brunch. FILTER COFFEE - 5 Pretty fruity and enjoyable, the strength of the coffee was perfect. This was relaxing to sip on while we chatted and waited for our food. GRASS-FED BEEF TARTARE - 24 The beef tartare (mixed with quinoa, pickled mushrooms, and smoked egg cream) was topped with delicately thin crispy potato chips, bright yellow edible flowers, and purple sprouts. Usually, we would expect beef tartare and chips to be heavy and greasy, but this was surprisingly very light. Initially, we found it slightly bland, but the more we ate, the more we noticed and appreciated the subtle umami. KOSHIHIKARI RICE PORRIDGE - 25 The rice porridge appeared brown-black (probably from the black garlic mix) and topped generously with microscopic broccoli florets. The rice porridge itself was mixed with flavorful roasted leeks. This was an incredibly umami experience, flavors were incredibly rich yet hearty. Because it was so dense, it was hard to consume all of it at once, but we balanced it by eating some beef tartare in between servings. The food was wonderful, definitely the most unique meals I've had in LA. The presentation is phenomenal, definitely similar to a Michelin-starred restaurant. I would recommend stopping by for brunch if you're not afraid to camp out for a spot to sit and long wait times.

    Absolutely loved this place! Low key, unpretentious and very high quality ingredients. Finally a brunch spot that's health conscious clean and not fussy. Service is also quick, don't let the line deter you it turns over fast. Don't sleep on the congee it'll surprise you!! The French toast was also perfectly balanced and the beat salad was such a nice clean round out for the meal. Portions are also quite generous. Loved it!

    I ordered their freshly made oatmeal, plus the forbidden orchard berries, which was the perfect combination to start off my morning. The blueberries were so fresh, the yogurt balanced out the sweetness. I was obsessed with this plate! We ordered the mandarin French toast. You could tell it was freshly made, on the side you had fresh mandarins, along with their jam.

    The outdoor seating area was quaint and perfect for my late lunch. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food came out very quickly. The overall quality and presentation were impressive, and the prices reflected the effort and artistry put into these dishes. The berries with yoghurt were perfectly balanced, not too sweet or tart, and the turkey ciabatta was bright and acidic in the best way. The standout, hands down, was the porridge. It had so much depth and flavour, and the texture was to die for. It reminded me of an elevated Chinese congee with a subtle cheddar broccoli flavour mixed in. Will definitely be coming back here to enjoy their delicious food and coffee

    Chicken Schnitzel (9/10): best dish by far. The schnitzel was perfectly crunchy, and I loved the addition of chili oil Koshihikari Rice Porridge (7/10): tasted decent, but not too memorable Beef Tartare (7/10): the beef tasted good. The potato chips and flowers felt like an attempt to elevate the beef by adding crunch and floral notes, but it didn't really do it for me.     Finally got around to trying Destroyer for brunch. I was somewhat disappointed given my high expectations. The line on a Saturday morning was long and only increased in length with the passage of time...if you don't like lines, this is not your place. No reservations. The sweet potato waffle was probably the best dish, offering a variety of flavors that complemented each other well, but was overall not incredibly remarkable. The mandarin orange french toast was an odd dish. It consisted of a large, thick slice of toasted sourdough that on inspection looked normal but upon biting into, was soaked with a perfunctory amount of custard. Ultimately, it just tasted like a moist sourdough bread by itself. The jam and syrup were fine, if a bit dull. The orchard berry yogurt was the biggest let-down. While nice in presentation (for a breakfast yogurt, I suppose), the berries were mediocre, the yogurt was overwhelmingly coconut-flavored and barely sweetened, the jam at the bottom added basically no additional flavor or sweetness, and the tapioca pearls were similarly there to serve no purpose other than aesthetic. So bland. The interior was trendy, with prices high to match. Ambiance was alright, outdoor-only seating with a view of the warehouses in the vicinity. Uncomfortable chairs were unsurprising, given how busy it was. Was weird that nobody bussed their own tables (probably because of the aggressive tip screen and the impression that this is still a restaurant even though you line up to order?), but I also didn't see any employees bussing tables.....maybe it was really busy that morning but all I saw were people (including ourselves) waiting around to snag a table, and then just cleaning up the dishes from the people that just left that table. Kind of an awkward set up. Honestly, just make it a cafe environment where you bus your own table and pick up your own food (we had to pick up our drinks anyways), and do-away with the tipping. This current limbo just made for an uncomfortable experience. Would not recommend or return.

The pricing is on the higher side but worth it given the taste! We had bone marrow which had a nice buttery flavor; the Beef bourguignon was tender and well flavored; and their house special Black cod (available only for one week) was so flavorful and cooked delicately that it melted in our mouths! It was the best fish we ever tasted and we didn't even know fish could taste like that!!! We also recommend the mango passionfruit lemonade. Not too sweet and tasted very fresh. We also thought it was one of the best and freshest lemonade we ever tasted! Word of note though is that the food portion is on the smaller side for Americans (which is actually normal sized for Europeans). Overall fantastic food! My mouth is watering thinking about it! My only complaint is that the portions are a little small. I understand they're meant for sharing, but to be honest I probably could have eaten all four by myself. At around $30 per plate, this definitely isn't a cheap meal. One thing that was a little disappointing was that it was my fiancée's birthday and I had noted it on the reservation. We noticed another table receiving what looked like a special birthday dessert, but nothing was mentioned for us. My fiancée didn't want me to ask about it, so we just let it go and ended up getting dessert elsewhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit of a letdown. That said, the food itself was absolutely outstanding. If you're a pasta lover, this place is definitely worth checking out.

It ultimately didn't ruin our overall experience, but I think it's worth noting for other people planning larger dinner parties at Republique because I do wish a little more care had been taken on the restaurant's end while planning our dinner.
